The feeling of contentment that comes from waking up from a pleasant dream
Creeping from the cracks of chiffon curtains, a glowing vein of morning daylight streamed across Theresa's face, gently summoning her from a deep and blissful sleep. She stirred idly but kept her eyes closed, basking in the euphoric sensation of being awake but not yet conscious of reality.
Rolling to her side and surrendering one eye to open, she was surprised to see her boyfriend still peacefully sleeping by her side at such a late hour of the morning. Jay was a notorious early riser, sometimes out of duty to his many extracurricular commitments but mostly because he suffered consistent nightmares since Cronus mysteriously vanished from the city several months ago. She smiled at how peaceful Jay looked sleeping in; an expression almost unfamiliar on his face.
Curious as to what was keeping him in such a serene state, she gently hovered her hand above his forehead to read his psyche. While she couldn't see what he was dreaming, Theresa felt a surge of warmth and calmness project from his aura. It was the kind of blissful contentment that comes from absolute acceptance and surrender to that of which you cannot change; a knowing that everything is working out as it should. She drew her hand back as Jay stirred slightly, not yet wanting to interrupt his blissful slumber. Smiling, she carefully snuggled closer and allowed herself to drift slowly back into her own relaxed state. It was the perfect interlude between two states of contentment.
It's good to be back ! :)
