A.N. (11/7/20) - Midterms are coming soon, so I might not have time to post.

DNAngel (9) - Returning to School

"Are you sure you're okay today?"

"I already took a few days off, and I've only been to school for one day." Nagi shrugged. "Besides, I feel fine. I don't want to stay home for too long and keep missing school."

"Your health is more important than school," his uncle replied, but in the end, he agreed to let Nagi go.

Walking to the tram station, Nagi recalled the past few nights talking to Misaki while he stayed at home. During those times, Nagi slowly built a small resistance to the exhaustion caused by the Dark Hour, to the point where it will soon become negligible. It didn't hurt to have a magical healing unicorn on call to help either.

Still, in the end, Nagi sometimes wished that he wasn't born with a weak constitution. His body just wasn't as heavy-duty as his previous life.

A voice called out from behind him. "On your left! 'Scuse me!"

Moving quickly to the side, a familiar-looking girl passed by Nagi. The girl rode past him on her bike and quickly disappeared into the distance.

...who was that again?

Either way, Nagi ignored that thought and continued to walk as he thought about school. What will his classmates think? He did only appear for a day before disappearing for the majority of the week. And then there were the few classmates that Nagi actually knew, like Saehara and Nagi and…

Nagi's eyes widened. Hiwatari! Didn't he ditch him during the Dark heist?! He totally forgot about that until now.

Wait, now that Nagi recalled the events of that night, didn't Nagi awaken to the Dark Hour that night? Did Hiwatari have something to do with it? Or was it just a coincidence? Maybe it was Dark awakening on Daisuke's birthday that was the catalyst.

Agh, who knows for sure? Mixing up two separate fandoms makes things confusing.

"So, why'd you miss the last few days?"

Nagi gave a wry smile at Saehara's question. "Sick day. I have a lot of those."

"Or maybe it's because you were busy going out at night as Phantom Dark!"

Nagi laughed at that. "I think I'm missing a dozen or so centimeters in height. That, plus my purple wig and whatever those wings are."

Saehara humphed at that. "You may joke now, but the school's already abuzz with rumors of you being the phantom thief."

"Wait, really?"

"Of course," he exclaimed. "You're the mysterious foreigner transfer student who joins the school right before Phantom Dark makes his return debut. Then, you go and miss school for the next few days right when Dark goes on a couple of heists. The whole school is talking about it."

"That's… frankly ridiculous. First of all, I'm native-born." Blond hair isn't synonymous with foreign. Seriously, middle school really is a hive of gossipers and imaginative students. "But if you really insist, then just ask Hiwatari. He was right next to me during the first Dark heist. We both saw Phantom Dark fly in the sky when he first appeared."

"Well, I would. But he's not here today."

Nagi paused at that. "He isn't?"

"Nope. He was here yesterday though, and he didn't look ill the whole day either." He shrugged. "Maybe he got sick last night from watching Dark's second heist."

"Huh," Nagi couldn't remember if that was significant in any way. "So, where's Daisuke?"

"I think I saw the elder Harada sister dragging him into an empty classroom." His face turned mischievous as he nudged Nagi's side. "Look's like my good friend is finally getting along with the ladies."

Nagi ignored that last bit. "Eldest Harada? Who's that?"

Saehara blinked. "Oh, I forgot that you've only been here for a day. She's the older sister of the Harada twins at this school. Riku Harada, the elder, and Risa Harada, the younger."

Huh, so that's what their names were. Nice to finally know the names of the main love interests.

Wait, didn't he see one of them earlier this morning?

"Even though they look the same, they don't really act alike though." Saehara looked around for a second and lowered himself to whisper to Nagi. "As Daisuke's mutual friend, I'll just let you know now that Daisuke has a huge crush on Harada the younger. So be a pal and watch out for that."

"Got it." Poor Daisuke, having to deal with a competitor for his crush. Who also happens to be himself. If possible, Nagi was gonna help the boy out in any way he can, even if he's unsure what exactly that is.

"Kirijo Family… Kirijo Group… ah, found it."

Staring at the computer screen, Nagi began to miss the faster and sleeker computers of the future he was used to. Seriously, the computer was sooo slow. Either way, he began to read the article.

"Let's see… globally operating multinational trading company… blah, blah, blah… currently led by Takeharu Kirijo… yadda, yadda, yadda."

What else should he search up?

"Barely any searches on Inaba… or wasn't that supposed to be some shortened name? I found a bit on Tatsumi Port Island though."

He rubbed his forehead.

"Guess this confirms it. I'm really in the Persona universe."

Sighing to himself, Nagi realized that it was getting late. Shutting off the computer, he left the computer lab and began to make his way home.

Now that he's got this information, what should he do with it? Should he contact the Kirijo Group and tell them that he knows about the Dark Hour?

But… he can't manifest a Persona, according to Igor at least. Sure, he still has that weird feather that's floating around in his chest. But so far, Nagi didn't know what it was or what it could do other than making his chest feel warm.

And if he accidentally draws the attention of someone with less than kind intentions, he might become one of the experimented kids in awakening an artificial Persona. Actually, he should probably somehow send a message to the elder Kirijo about that. From what Nagi remembered, he seemed like a good man who wouldn't ignore that.

Can't send a message through email though, not secure enough. Maybe a personal visit? Better workshop that plan for now.

"Ugh, I guess I can't really do anything other than continue my playdates with Misaki."

Maybe she'll be happy if he brings a gift. Does she like teddy bears?l

This is a bit of a time skip of a few days.

Daisuke doesn't usually take the tram early. He only did so in Episode 1 because he wanted to meet up with Risa to give her a love letter. Riku takes the bike in episode 1, and this takes place sometime during Episode 3, with some butterfly effects due to Nagi's actions.

Quick question: How do you want me to spell Dark's familiar's name? With or Wiz?
