Rachel lay in her bed wide awake. It was one am and she couldn't sleep. All she could think about was Quinn and her baby.
She also couldn't stop fantasizing about beating Puck to a pulp for his inconsideration over Quinn and the baby's wellbeing.
She felt her insides burn and her eyes were welling rapidly with tears. Sadness engulfed her over how Quinn was being treated during one of the most sensitive times of her life.
She wanted to reach out to Quinn but knew the blonde was sleeping so she didn't text her.
She wished she and Quinn were on better terms, at least maybe then Quinn would listen and see reason that Rachel had a perfectly good unused spare bedroom in her own home.
Hell, she has even addressed the situation with her fathers already and has been given full support on the matter.
The brunette sighed in frustration. She didn't know how to get Quinn to not shut her out but that didn't mean she wouldn't try. Hell, a slushie wouldn't even stop her.
Quinn yawned and stretched like the laziest animal on the planet whichever animal that may be didn't matter because they must feel just as good as she does in the moment.
She felt her back pop amazingly, as the soft bed below her made her feel like she was sleeping on a cloud. She hadn't slept this good in a long time.
"Morning sleepy head." Lucy spoke up with a teasing tone.
Quinn's eyes fluttered open and she sat up slowly, her eyes widening in surprise that she was no longer on the cliff in Greece.
No, instead she was being gentle rocked. Quinn furrowed her brow in confusion as she gazed around her new environment. She was in a luxurious large room. She pulled the soft full quilt back and stood from the bed, heading straight for the door.
The second she opened it her eyes widened in surprise at the room before her. The blonde rushed forward into a large living room like space before heading for a lavish looking staircase.
Following it up to the top than gasping as she was bombarded with the fresh potent smell of sea water. It hit her nostrils strongly as she stared out into the expanse laid out before her on a hot summer morning.
She was right, she's no longer on the cliff in Greece, no, she was on a huge yacht in the middle of the ocean.
"You like?' Lucy said smugly as she felt Quinn's awe radiating within herself.
"This is.." Quinn couldn't finish her sentence. She was flabbergasted.
"Awesome, right?!"
"Luce.." Quinn said turning her eyes to the lion.
She could feel what Lucy was hoping for.
Excitement. Appreciation. Acceptance. Eager for Quinn to like her.
Quinn's heart melted. She could feel Lucy's need to be in her favor. To be wanted. Liked. To be Quinn's friend.
Quinn's excitement dimmed a little and Lucy felt it immediately. "You don't like it? If you don't, we could go some where el-"
"Luce.." Quinn sighed tenderly as she walked over to the lion and kneeled in front her. Cupping her cheek. "Sweetie, you know you don't have to do things like this."
"Like what?"
"This." Quinn said with a gesture around them. "Changing everything to help me feel better or comfortable. I can feel it, Luce. I can feel what you're feeling so I know you want me to love it. I know you want to impress me just so I'll like you but you don't need to because I like you just the way you are with or without all the magical genie stuff. Okay?"
Quinn felt herself becoming emotional but knew they weren't her own emotions. They were Lucy's.
Lucy ducked her head. "I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I just had this urge to make you comfortable. Give you peace of mind and rest. I don't know I just.. felt the need to take care of you.. Is that weird?" Lucy said in a small voice.
In all honesty Lucy's never done anything like this before. She's never felt what she's feeling. It just came on suddenly out of no where when the blonde was sleeping.
First she felt upset and sad than angry than sad again than she felt determined to make sure Quinn would be taken care of.
Which led to removing Quinn from being out in the open even if she was safe. Hence, the yacht in the middle of no where where no one could hurt her.
"No, it's not weird. We're friends and friends take care of each other, right?" Quinn replied.
"Friends?" Lucy asked in confused question with a tilt of her head looking like the cutest lion Quinn had ever seen. "I've never had.. friends."
Quinn was hit with the force of sorrow when her minds eye traveled her back to a time when a certain brunette had said something similar. That she's never had friends.
It made Quinn feel horrible, instantly wishing out of no where that she could talk to Rachel in that moment.
"Why are you sad about Rachel?" Lucy piped up after experiencing what Quinn was feeling.
"I uh-what?" Quinn asked.
"Oh for the love of-please don't try the whole 'I don't know what you're talking about' thing. We've been over this, I know exactly what you're feeling when you feel it, so just tell me." Lucy said in exasperation.
Quinn scowled. "Can we talk about this later? I'm hungry, what's for-"
"I'll feed you when you answer my questions."
Quinn's jaw dropped. "What?! You can't strand me in the middle of no where on a boat and not feed me! I'm pregnant!"
"Oh sure I can and I don't actually want to but you're forcing my hand. I'm not going to spend however long of my morning feeling like crap over a girl who isn't even here. It's not fair that I have to suffer for whatever reason you feel like a douchebag. So spill or I won't feed you." Lucy argued.
"You are such a-"
"Tick. Tock. I could wait hear all day."
Quinn sneered as she stared down the lion. "Fine."
"Good."
"..."
"Well?"
"You just reminded of Rachel when you said you've never had friends."
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why did you feel bad about that?"
"I already answered your question."
"Actually I said 'Questions' meaning plural as in I have more than one."
"Are you trying to ruin my morning?!"
"Why are you so stubborn?! If you just answer, this would be less painful!"
"Why are you so nosy? Just mind your own business!"
"I can't because I can literally feel your business!"
"Ugh! Gross!"
"Not like that you perv!"
"Well you implied it!"
"You know damn well I didn't and you know what I mean! We're connected!"
"Don't try and use that excuse! Why can't you just let it go?!"
"Answer the questions than maybe I'll let it go!"
"Why do you do this?!"
"Maybe because you need it!"
"I don't need a head ache, I need food!"
"Or maybe you have feelings you need to unload! Because to me you seem to have a lot you need to express!"
"Maybe you should take me home instead of torturing me!"
"Why is she such a hard topic for you to discuss?! You seem to always run away when it comes to her. What are you so afraid of t-"
"I ruined her life, okay?! I was the head cheerleader and bullied her since we were kids! Are you happy now?!" Quinn yelled in frustration as her tears began to fall.
She hated discussing her feelings when it came to Rachel because she always hated herself for all she had done to the girl, just to prove to her father and her peers that she was on top.
She ruined the girls everyday on purpose because that's what was expected. She still doesn't even know why she even targeted Rachel to begin with.
She hates herself for it everyday. Even before she was pregnant she hated doing it.
She kept telling herself that she would stop but it seemed like she had already put a permanent target on Rachel's back because when she did stop every one else continued bullying the poor girl.
It was painful to watch but she had already done it. So now Rachel wouldn't get peace until she graduated and Quinn damns herself every day for doing it to her.
"What do you mean you ruined her life?" Lucy asked and Quinn could feel Lucy's feelings on the matter already going south.
Quinn took a deep breath. "I bullied her, like I said. I bullied her at school. I cyber bullied her on her social media. I made her a pariah at school and since I targeted her every one else followed and now she's the lowest of the low at Mckinely. Even lower than me apparently and I'm the one whose pregnant." The blonde shook her head in disgust of herself.
"She didn't even do anything to warrant that from me or any one else. Yes, she's rough around the edges but so are the rest of us. I mean, we're all kids still trying to figure ourselves out. None of us are even half as sure about ourselves as Rachel is and yet she's the one that gets shit for it, all thanks to me."
"Have you ever thought about apologizing to her?"
Quinn scoffed. "Of course I have, plenty of times."
"Than why haven't you?"
"Because any time I'm ever near her it's like my brain to mouth filter loses function and falls back into it's default settings."
"Wow, your a nerd. Default setting, really?"
"Shut up."
"But seriously, why not try. It sounds and feels like to me you really are sorry."
Quinn's eyes welled with tears but they didn't fall. "I really am but to be honest, Rachel and I will never ever see eye to eye. We're like vinegar and milk, we don't mix."
"You never know until you try."
"Trust me, us being in each others lives would only cause mayhem and ruin. It's best if we just stay out of each others way."
"Suit yourself but I still think you're judging before you really know each other. You never know she might surprise you."
"Yeah right, if there is anyone in this world as selfish as I am it's Rachel Berry. Now since I've answered your questions can we please eat now?"
"Yes ma'am."
Within a blink of an eye a large table with a breakfast made for a king was spread out before them and Quinn's stomach growled loudly as her mouth salivated. She blushed deeply as she walked to the table to eat.
Rachel stalked the halls of Mckinely in search of a certain blonde. She has barely slept no thanks to her worry over Quinn and her baby and has rehearsed several different ways on how to broach the subject of invitation to the blonde in her mirror all night.
Only it seems Quinn has yet to be seen and if that isn't bad enough, she can't find Noah either.
She's more than sure he's still in bed sleeping but Quinn never misses school and Rachel couldn't just leave school.
Her perfect attendance record would surely pay the price. She supposes she has to wait until after school to head over to the Puckerman home again.
Quinn was sat on a large plush deck lounge chair in a cute bikini with her belly exposed. She was freshly showered. Full from breakfast and enjoying her day away from the drama that is her life with a good book.
She couldn't ask for more. She won't lie. She felt pampered and spoiled. She felt stress free for once and genuinely happy.
Lucy was laid out on another lounge chair soaking up the sun as well. She felt good but she knew that was Quinn's feelings.
However her own were more low in spirits as for some reason she kept feeling worried. Eager and sad. She also felt tired as hell.
The two of them have been lounging all morning, sometimes they spoke here and there. Telling jokes and being silly but mostly they just enjoyed the peace of quiet. The light warm breeze and the ocean smell in the air was amazing.
Lucy was still waiting on her toes though. It has now been two days since she told Quinn about her wishes but the blonde still hasn't asked for anything yet.
It was driving Lucy up the wall with curiosity over the girl. Who in their right mind has a full fledged genie at their disposal but not make a single wish of desire?
It baffled Lucy and she didn't know how to broach the subject again with the blonde after the last time.
Quinn didn't take too kindly to finding out she didn't have a choice and Lucy didn't want to upset her again.
"You're thinking awfully loud over there." Quinn spoke up with a raised brow but her eyes being shielded by her fancy sunglasses.
"I'm fine."
"Lie. I can literally feel it, now tell me."
"It's nothing."
"Listen, if I had to spill my guts when I didn't want to than you don't have a choice either."
Lucy glared at her. She felt herself giving in almost instantly.
"I'm confused, alright." Lucy gruffed.
"Confused about what?"
"You!"
"Me? What'd I do?"
"Nothing. Exactly nothing for two days!"
"I'm sorry, I'm not following."
"You haven't asked me for a single desire and I'm stuck here until you do."
"Ouch. Sorry you're stuck here with me." Quinn sneered back before standing and beginning her storm out.
"That's not what I meant. Come on, calm down."
"Why should I?!"
"I'm sorry okay?! I didn't mean it like that!"
"It sure sounded like it." Quinn grumbled.
"Quinn, I'm not saying I'm not enjoying myself. I'm just saying you're throwing me for a loop her! I mean, how weird is it that I tell you, you can have whatever you want and yet it's two days later and you still haven't asked me for anything. Like what is that?"
Quinn crossed her arms and scoffed her shoe on the ground self consciously. "Well.. To be honest, I don't know if you can give me what I want."
Lucy perked. "How can you know that I can't if you haven't asked?"
"It's impossible." Quinn says with certainty.
"Try me."
Quinn licked her lips nervously and in a small vulnerable voice asked: "Can you.. Can you show me?.. what the baby will be, I mean? Like will they look like me or-or Puck? Will it be smart or funny or maybe one those serious kind of laid back kids? What will it sound like when it cries or it's first word? The moment it walks for the first time. What will it look like as a teenager or adult? Just everything! I know it sounds stupid but when I give it up for adoption I won't ever get to know those things and I guess since I won't be there to see it for myself I.." Quinn trailed off self consciously.
She had wanted to know the sex of her baby but decided against it in fear that she would become attached.
She couldn't stop her curiosity from building though. Over time of feeling the baby move and seeing it on those sonograms had Quinn filling with need. The need to know just who her baby would be.
Lucy smiled. "It's night stupid at all. I think it's beautiful and I think you're going to be an amazing mom someday."
Quinn eyes welled with tears and her lips trembled dangerously. No ones ever said that to her before. It's actually something she's very insecure about, being a mother. She wiped quickly at the one stray tear that slipped out and cleared her throat. "Thank you. So uh.. is that-is it possible?"
Lucy looked at Quinn. Really looked at her and for the first time could see just how much the little being inside her meant to her.
"Yeah Quinn. I can do that. I can do that and more."
"Really?" Quinn asked her vocal cords quivering and her body beginning to tremble with nervous anticipation.
"Yes."
"Wha-What do I-How do you-"
"Easy but first you have to close your eyes. Your mind and your heart have to want the same thing genuinely. There can't be any doubt. They have to become one than you request: Lucy, I desire to see my child's age progression."
Quinn nodded than closed her eyes and concentrated really hard on what she's been secretly desperate to see. She felt more than a want. She was filled with a need to see her baby.
"Lucy, I desire to see my child's age progression." Quinn repeated.
Lucy's eyes shined as she felt the pull of the desire instantly. "Your wish is my command."
It was in the distance at first but Quinn's eyes snapped open when the sounds of a new born baby's cries echoed around her. The blonde turned around abruptly when she heard the cries erupt a few feet behind her.
She gasped as a bassinet sat in the empty expanse of space. Quinn felt every nerve ending in her go haywire.
She took a shaky step forward than two than three to four until she was standing in front of the bassinet but her eyes were facing forward as the baby continued to cry.
The blonde took a deep breath and shut her eyes in preparation before she slowly lowered her head downward than counted to three in her head before opening her eyes.
A gasp fell from her lips once more before a choked sound escaped her and her tears fell instantly as a wailing just born baby lay wrapped in a pink baby blanket.
The blonde couldn't stop herself even if she tried. Her hands ached to hold the baby. She reached into the bassinet and gently with the hands of a veteran mother lifted the baby from it tenderly.
"Oh my.. look at you." Quinn spoke in awe with uncontrollable cords.
The baby is a girl. A girl! Quinn couldn't even explain what she was feeling as the baby fussed a little in her arms for a moment before settling than it's tiny hand grasped her finger and than their eyes met and Quinn was a goner.
"Hi baby.. I'm your mommy.."
Quinn placed a delicate kissed to her forehead while whispering: I love you.. Oh god, I love you so much.. I love you. I love You..." the blonde repeated in a whisper against the baby's forehead.
Just than the baby vanished from her arms along with the bassinet that was in front of her.
"No.." Quinn whispered in low panic as she spun around searching until across the room she spotted a baby on a playmate looking to be no more than a year old.
The blonde let out a desperate laugh of disbelief. The baby was sat up playing with blocks. Her small tuffs of blonde curls had Quinn in a trance as she walked over with heavy legs.
The moment she was near she kneeled on to the mat and the baby looked up. Her hazel green eyes matching Quinn's eyes own, filled with recognition as she held up a block than the most adorable babel filled Quinn's ears and she began to cry as she reached for the baby and lifted her into her lap as she began to play with the blocks with her daughter.
"Yes, look at that it's blue. Can you say blue for mommy, baby?"
The baby bit the block slobbering all over it. Making 'mmmmm' sounds causing Quinn to melt into goo. Her baby's weight against her filled her with joy. Her baby was tangible in her arms and she never wanted to let go. Then her daughter vanished.
Quinn was just beginning to stand in sadness when a shriek of laughter erupted behind her and she spun around just in time to see a toddler running. Quinn giggled in emotionally as her hand covered her mouth as she shook with some euphoric feeling.
The blonde kneeled than held out her arms toward the running toddler in the distance. "Come to mommy, baby!"
The toddlers head whipped in her her direction as if she just realized Quinn was there. The toddler shrieked with happiness, running straight for her mother.
Quinn could never truly describe how it felt to have her little girl run to her and recognize her. The impact of embrace was indescribable but what happened next stopped her heart than jolted it back to life when the two year old said: Mama I go up."
The toddler pointed up and Quinn's smile exploded as she gripped her daughter under her arms than tossed her into the air causing childish peals of laughter to erupt and they destroyed any chance Quinn ever had of not being addicted to the sound. On the final toss before the little could be caught by Quinn she disappeared.
"Mommy!" Was squealed in happiness behind Quinn from a few feet yards away.
Quinn whirled around in surprise and she choked on air at the sight of a six year old running straight for her. The girls long blonde hair bounced with it's full round girls. Her hazel eyes brightening with eagerness to get to Quinn.
Quinn stooped low and caught the little girl when she leaped into her arms. The little girls arms wrapping snuggly around her.
"I missed you, mommy." The girl whispered.
Quinn's body shook with the strength it took to hold in her cries.
"I missed you too, sweetie."
The girl pulled back with a smile that was exactly Quinn's.
"I made you this at school." The girl said as she dug into her pocket and produced a beaded bracelet that said 'I love mommy'
Quinn was a blubbering mess. "Thank you, honey, I'm going to keep this forever."
"You really like it?" The girl asked bashfully.
"Like it? I love it, just as much as I love you."
"Mommy, can we go to the park now?"
Quinn furrowed her brow in confusion. "Park? Sweetie there isn't a pa.." Quinn trailed off as she followed her daughters gaze. There in the distance was a playground. Quinn's smile match her daughters.
Her daughter wiggled out of her arms. "Race you to the park mommy! Last one there's a rotten egg!" With that the little girl ran and Quinn followed, both giggling like maniacs.
The two played tag, jump rope and hop scotch. Quinn pushed her daughter on the swings and they slid down slides together and climbed monkey bars followed by a game of hide and seek and if Quinn had paid attention she would have noticed that with every new version of her daughter gave her more time.
The little girl laughed as she ran to her mother. "Catch me mommy!" She squealed as she leaped for Quinn but before Quinn could catch her she vanished along with the park.
Quinn furrowed her brow as her heart seized when she heard crying. She turned around and gasped when she saw a girl no older than eight on the floor holding her knee to her chest with a bike lying haphazardly next her. Quinn rushed over immediately.
"Oh honey, are you okay!" Quinn dropped to her knees immediately as her daughters cries ripped her heart to shreds.
"It hurts mommy!" The girl cried.
"Oh I know, honey, here let mommy see."
"No it's going to hurt."
"Honey, I promise it'll only hurt for a second."
The girl's eyes filled with trust as she removed her hand and hissed at the throbbing she felt.
"You see honey, it's not too bad. We can fix that right up. I um.. I just need-" Quinn looked around for any sort of first aide until it appeared by her side. The blonde smiled as she grabbed the cotton swabbed and peroxide.
"Mommy no! It'll hurt!" The girl cried in fear.
Quinn relaxed her posture and set the items down before pulling her daughter into a hug as she rubbed her back soothingly. "Shh.. Shh.. you're okay, sweetie, I've got you. There's nothing to be afraid of I promise."
"But it hurts when you use that stuff."
"I know but sweetie we have to clean it or it could get worse and hurt you more. So would you rather be in pain or feel better so you can play some more?" Quinn asked as she pulled back from the hug to gaze into the glassy pink tear filled eyes of her obvious mini me.
"I guess you're right."
Quinn smiled. "I usually am." The blonde winked at her daughter who giggled. "Are you ready?"
"Okay."
"Alright, that's my brave girl!" Quinn said with affection. Soon the blonde set to work but before she poured anything on the cut she looked at her daughter.
"Hey."
The blonde girl looked up.
"It's only going to sting for a minute."
The girl nodded. "I'm ready." She squeak but the fear was evident in her voice and Quinn smiled softly before pouring the peroxide. The girl squealed in pain.
"It's okay, you're okay. Here see." Quinn said as she leaned forward and blew lightly on it relieving the stinging sensation.
Soon it stopped and Quinn put a large band aide over the cut. The little girl sniffled and Quinn held out her arms. The girl shuffled until she was able to practically crawl into her mother's arms as if she was still a baby.
"How do you feel now, honey?"
"Better. Thank you, mommy."
"Good and you're welcome. Now, are you ready to ride again?"
"No. I don't ever want to get on that thing ever again."
"Why?"
"Because it fell and I got hurt."
Sweetie." Quinn said as she pulled back from the hug but still holding her daughter. "You can't stop trying to learn just because of a misstep. Practice makes perfect and-"
"-And your perfect is as good as you can get. I know, I know." The girl sighed shocking Quinn with the saying her grandmother use to tell her.
"How do you know that?"
"You say it all the time mommy, duh."
Quinn's eyes shined. "Okay you goof. Come on, you ready?"
"Yes, ma'am."
The two stood up and Quinn helped the girl climb onto her purple and white princess bike. Quinn grabbed a handle bar and grasped the back of the seat.
"Alright I'm right here and I won't let go until you say so."
"Promise?"
"I promise, honey."
"Okay."
Alright, On the count of three. 1! 2! 3!"
And they were off. For the next thirty minutes Quinn helped her daughter learn to ride her bike. Standing right beside her not letting her fall once. The little girls confidence grew until she told her: "Mommy you can let go!"
Quinn asked if she was sure before receiving confirmation and just like that her daughter was riding on her own.
"I'm doing it mommy! Do you see me?! I'm doing it!"
"I see you, sweetie! I see.. you."
And just like that the girl rode the bike until she vanished out of sight.
Quinn stared at the spot the girl disappeared from sadly. Than Quinn jumped out of her skin when she heard a phantom door slam.
Quinn whipped around in the direction of the sound than her eyes bulged as a slightly altered looking version of herself dressed in a blue, white and black cheerleading uniform stormed toward her with fire in her eyes.
"I hate him! I am so sick of his stupid ugly face and I hope he chokes on a football!"
Quinn was staring in awe as the girl went on a very long tangent about 'Him!' her tangent was so amazingly verbose it would given Rachel Berry a run for her money.
"Can you believe that?!" The teenager asked.
Silence. The cheerleader was met with silence. She raised a very distinctive eyebrow at her mother that was completely identical to Quinn's in a 'Well?' manner.
Quinn's eyes widened a fraction as she realized that, that was her cue to speak. "I-I'm sorry I didn't catch that."
"Mooom, you're not even listening?! Some one shot me now!" The girl throw her arms up dramatically and flopped her body backward unceremoniously giving Quinn a heart attack for two point five seconds before a couch magically appeared beneath her.
"Okay, I'm sorry. How about we rewind and catch me up to speed."
The girl sighs dramatically. "Nathan decided that he would rather go to that stupid frat boy party, and you know how much I hate parties!" The girl threw a look at her mother as if that alone should inform Quinn about how serious this is. Quinn nodded this very abrupt 'Oh yeah! I totally get where you're coming from, I hate parties too!' kind of thing.
The teenager nodded as well in a 'I knew you'd understand' way. "Anyway, he'd rather go to that than go with me to see the Broadway revival of Evita! I mean come on! It's Evita for Barbra's sake!"
Quinn's eyes bulged and her mind spun as her stomach bottomed out as she realized in that moment who her teenage daughter just sounded like.
Taking her mother's silent but comical wide eyes for her disbelief of her boyfriends actions caused the girl to shriek "I know, right! I knew I was right! Because as you know I have a sixth sense and-"
"Okay!" Quinn said having to cut that off before it went any further because seriously what the hell?!
"So, he's an idiot right?" Quinn asked as she nodded.
"Right!" Her daughter piped up.
"Okay, so you know what you do when your boyfriends an idiot?"
"What?" She asked eagerly because her mother was like a secret vault with the most amazing ways to feel better.
"You pamper yourself of course." Quinn said like it was the most obvious thing and the way Quinn use to pamper herself was by-
Quinn didn't even get to blink before she and her daughter were at a spa in thick white robes with facial masks on getting mani-pedis.
"Mom, You were right. This is so much better than thinking about that idiot."
Quinn giggled.
"I'm serious, he's a moron. Do you know how many times I had to sit and listen to him talk about video games? Mom, look at me.. Do I look like a girl that knows anything about video games? No I don't! Ask me if I know about literature, history, Broadway, art real world culture and I'm there with you but I do not understand why video games even exist?"
"Well.. I use to think the same thing Than your-" Quinn cut herself off not knowing if saying or even hinting at-he who shall not be named-would conjure him up right now and ruin her time with her daughter.
"What? What is it?"
Quinn swallowed before continuing. She couldn't deny her daughter anything.
"You're dad, he's a game junkie and I thought it was the dumbest thing ever created but then one day he asked me to at least try it and I did."
"And?"
"It's pretty fun when you relax and actually try it."
"No way."
"Yes way."
"I don't believe you. You like video games?! No way! I would know about something like this and if I don't know it that means it isn't true." Her daughter asked with shining eyes full of love aimed solely on her.
Quinn laughed and secretly was over joyed with how tight it seemed her daughter felt they were. "It's true! I swear!"
"Okay, prove it!"
"What? No!"
"Come on!"
"No!"
"What are you scared I'll beat you?!" Her daughter teased.
"No but-"
"Come on, mom! Show what you got!"
And just like that they were sat in front of a large TV on a very comfortable couch with snacks and beverages on the coffee table in their pajamas. The screen was live and bright playing the only video game Quinn knew how to play.
Mario Kart.
She was teaching her daughter about the game and controllers. The two laughing and her daughter squealing every time something she considered crazy happened.
Quinn was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes and her face was red her daughter looking exactly the same.
They played, talked, joked, cheered. They went to make more snacks in the kitchen that appeared also out of no where, where they proceeded to have a food fight thanks to Quinn's daughter throwing a piece of puff ball at her.
It continued on like that until they settled on a movie and Quinn found herself with her arms full of a knocked out teenager and had never felt more alive than that moment.
Soon her daughter vanished from her arms but then she heard her again.
"Mom! Mom come look at this!" Her daughter called excitedly. Quinn rushed from the couch and followed after her daughter. Just as Quinn reached her, her daughter pointed up with wide excited eyes.
"Mom can you believe it?! I'm here! I made it!"
Just than the sight of a large building that read JULIARRD in bold letters appeared. Quinn gasped as the building vanished and they were somehow transported to a theatre.
"Woah.." Her daughter whispered in awe.
"Wow.." Quinn whispered in the same amazement.
"Yeah.." Her daughter replied still in awe of the large theatre.
Quinn's eyes snapped to the young blonde next to her. "So what do you.. do?"
Her daughter looked at her than laughed as her eyes sparkled.
"Do you want to see what I've been working on?"
Quinn nodded eagerly.
"Okay, sit there." Her daughter instructed in excitement as Quinn took her seat.
She rushed up to the empty stage, her foot steps echoing. The moment her daughter step under the lights Quinn lost her breath as her daughter shined and she hadn't even done anything yet.
Quinn wasn't prepared when her daughter transformed before her eyes as she began to move in to an intricate dance as her mouth opened and she began to sing simultaneously. Her voice was extraordinary. A voice you didn't hear every day.
Her daughter performed for her and blew her away. Quinn's eyes were wide and her mouth was hanging open in shock as she watched her daughter move with the grace and fluidity of a experienced trained professionally.
Even her singing didn't falter. She didn't sound winded or anything. She was perfect. She was Quinn's one perfect thing that she knew she'd never ruin.
The moment she finished Quinn was on her feet cheering and clapping her eyes filled with tears than just as her daughter bowed than straighten again the image changed and her daughter looked older and was front and center on a stage in costume.
Than phantom loud cheers, claps and whistled exploded all around Quinn. She could feel them vibrating her being. Quinn was a sobbing mess as her daughter caught her eye and she mouthe 'I love you, mom.'
Quinn gasped once again when the vision of her daughter before her vanished and another older version of her daughter appeared on another stage only this time she was receiving an award. It was Grammy.
"-To be honest, I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for my amazing, beautiful partner in crime. My idol, my wisdom, my sanity and peace. She's been the best friend I've ever had and she is who I aspire to be everyday of my life. The number one person in my life, my mother Lucy Quinn Fabray. Mommy, this wouldn't have been possible without your support and encouragement. Thank you for giving me life and making it an extraordinary one. I love you more than I could ever say, this award is for you."
Quinn was a mess once again and once again her daughter vanished before she heard heels clicking behind her.
Just than Quinn turned around and her eyes lit up with a shine of disbelief as her daughter walked toward her in her ball gown wedding dress. Her smile was radiant. As soon as she reached Quinn she pulled her into a hug.
"I can't believe it! I'm getting married!"
"I can't believe it either! I feel like I just held you in my arms!"
"Mooom, stop you're going to make me cry." Her daughter whimpered.
The two pulled back and gazed into each other's eyes as they both fought with their tears.
"Okay! Ready?" Her daughter asked.
"I should be asking you that? So are you?" Quinn asked.
"True but I know this is just as important of day for you since you'll be handing off your responsibilities to someone else."
Quinn looked her daughter straight in the eyes and said with conviction: "I will never ever not be responsible for you. I will always be available to you for anything you want or need me for. Because I will move mountains if it meant your happiness, safety and security. So don't you ever think that who ever sticks by you for the rest of your life will be the only there for you."
Her daughters lips trembled as she whimpered and pulled her mother into another hug holding on to her tightly.
"I love you, mommy."
"I love you too, honey."
The two held each other for a few more minutes until the wedding march began. Then doors appeared before them and opened.
Light shined in as a empty church greeted them but Quinn's daughter smiled as if the church was packed, than her eyes zeroed in down the aisle to some phantom person that she was only seeing and her smile was that 'I'm so in love you' smile.
Quinn smiled this grateful smile that spoke volumes of gratitude to whomever that phantom is for loving her baby girl so much that they were able to put that look on her daughters face.
Soon they were walking down the aisle toward the front until Quinn's hand had to release her daughters but not before her daughter gave her one more hug. Than she turned away and as she did she vanished.
Quinn heard a sniffle behind her. She turned around and gasped as her eyes filled with tears once more because there laying in a hospital bed was her daughter and she wasn't alone. She was holding two little bundles in her arms, one pink one blue.
Just than her daughter looked up and the smile she gave was not only exhausted but oozing with indescribable happiness.
"Mom, come please.. Come meet your grandchildren." Her daughter whispered.
Quinn walked forward and she felt her heart splitting in three belonging to the three occupants in the bed.
"Oh my god.." Quinn whispered in awe as she got a clear visual of exactly what her grandchildren looked like.
"Oh look at how precious you are." Quinn cooed.
"Here you can hold her." Her daughter said.
Quinn leaned forward gently taking her granddaughter first and melting as she began crying.
"Hello precious." Quinn whispered as she ran her finger down the bridge of the baby's nose. "What's her name."
"Lucy."
Quinn's head shot up in surprise.
"Lucy Annabelle and this little guy is Lucus Aiden." Her daughter said as she adjusted the baby in Quinn's other arm so the blonde was holding the both of them.
"Honey.. You didn-"
"You are the strongest person I know and you're also the reason I am who I am and I never ever want you to ever forget that."
Quinn was beyond blubbering she didn't even know how to describe the noise that came from the back of her throat as she burst into a sobbing mess.
"We love you, mom."
"I love you all too. God you have no idea how much."
"I think I do. This family seems to be growing into that big family we've always wanted, huh?"
Quinn laughed this free falling unbelievable thing that bubbled from her chest and filled her with wonder.
Quinn's eyes turned to her grandson. "Hey little man. I'm your grandma."
Quinn leaned down kissing his forward than moved to his sister and kissing her again before turning her eyes to her daughter leaning forward and kissing her daughter on the forward than whispering: Thank you.. Thank you for being everything I've every wanted and everything I never knew I needed."
"Thank you for being the best mom ever."
With that the three vanished from Quinn's sight leaving the blonde feeling empty. Until she heard a voice.
"COME ON GRANDMA! COME ON!"
Quinn turned around and there was her daughter once more only she was a little older and there running around her were children. Five to be exact.
She could clearly see who the twins are. The two preteens playing frisbre. There was another little boy building a sand castle with a little girl who looked to be maybe a year or two younger than the boy.
The two were calling her over with wide bright smiles. Than finally there in her daughters arms was a baby no more than four months old.
Quinn rushed over, she could feel the sand beneath her feet and the sun all over. She walked up to her daughter with the hugest smile.
Her grandchildren all running to her and engulfing her in hugs and kisses each of them talking over each other with excitement. All wanting her attention.
Quinn found herself not only playing frisbe but building sand castles, hearing all about her grandchildren's respected days. Quinn laughed, joked and even became her four mouth old grand daughter lily's place to sleep.
She and her daughter talked and joked as well. It was everything Quinn has always wanted, more than she could ever dream of. Than all too soon they vanished too. Until she heard a creaking sound behind her.
Quinn turned slowly than gasped as she filled with curiosity as an old white haired woman who looked to be in her late sixties sat with a little sandy blonde haired six year old in her lap.
"Whose that grandma?" The little girl asked as she pointed to a photo of a little blonde girl at to years old with food all over her face in her mothers arms.
The old woman laughed this happy emotional thing. "That sweetie, me and that woman is my mother your great grandmother Lucy."
"Like mommy?"
"Exactly, I named your mother after her."
"Mommy says she was the best grandma ever."
"Yes, she was and she was the best mommy too."
"Really?"
"Yes, here you see this picture. That's us in Paris. Back then I was obsessed with Paris and your great grandmother surprised with a trip to Paris for my sweet sixteen because she said 'I know you don't approve of parties'." The older chuckled with affectionate emotion.
"She sounds cool."
"Cool? She was more than cool. She was magnificent and I lived my life as close to the way I believed she would. So if ever I had a difficult decision to make, I would always ask myself what she would do in the situation and usually what I believed she would do was the greatest outcome I could have ever asked for. I don't know who I would've been without her and you know what?"
"What?"
"I never want to know."
The little girl smiled at her grandmother. "Mommy told me she makes the best chocolate chip cookies. Is that true?"
"Oh sweetie, they're mouthwatering. Hmm.. You know, she taught me how to make them."
The little girls eyes lit up. "Really?! Can you make them now?"
"I'll do you one better. I'll not only make them but teach you how to make them too but first go wash up then meet me in the kitchen."
"Okay!"
With that the little girl bolted from the room. The older woman chuckled as she watched her go before her eyes turned back to the many pictures in the photo album in her lap. She sighed as her eyes took in her mother's smiling face and her own face through the years.
The more she looked the tears came and she giggled through some of the photos and smiled an nostalgic smile at others.
She finally came across a photo of her mother Quinn in a baby doll dress at fifteen and pregnant with her.
"I miss you so much.. I love you, mommy.." The woman whispered as silent tears fell from her eyes.
The woman vanished from sight and Quinn shut her eyes as her tears came without remorse.
"Quinn?"
Quinn jerked up as her eyes were wide in disbelief as she looked back and forth. The yacht, she was back on the yacht with Lucy.
"Quinn are you okay?" Lucy's emotions were high and her vocal cords were struggling to stay in control as Quinn's feelings grew with each passing second also causing Lucy pain.
Quinn choked than she shook as a sob ripped from her throat, her hand flying to her round belly trying desperately to relieve the deep ache in her chest of loss.
"Quinn it's okay you're okay." Lucy tried but all Quinn could do was curl into a ball on the large lounger and hold her belly with her arms in a protective manner.
