Tears come out of Alice and Eugeo's eyes as they see Kirito, awake with the Night Sky Blade on his back.
Eugeo: Kirito...
Alice: Kirito.
Kirito looks to them with a smile.
Cardinal: It's good to have you back, Kirito.
Bercouli: It's about time.
Eugeo: Welcome back, Kirito.
Alice: Welcome back.
Kirito: I made you both worry for a long time. Eugeo. Alice. Thank you.
Super Sonic: The two of us will take it from here.
Alice: Huh?
Tails: Don't worry.
Asuna: Let's all believe in Sonic and Kirito. We need to hurry to the World's End Altar.
Eugeo and Alice: Right.
Everyone gets on the dragons and start flying up to the floating island.
Mighty: Let's go. We don't have a lot of time before the altar closes.
Eugeo: Just a moment. Kirito!
Kirito: Huh?
Eugeo: Listen, take this.
He shows the Blue Rose Sword to him.
Kirito: But Eugeo. That's...
Eugeo: I know. But right now, one sword isn't enough for you. Which is why I'm lending you my strength.
Kirito: Eugeo...
Eugeo: Just promise that you'll return it to me.
Kirito: I will. I promise.
And so Eugeo hands Kirito the Blue Rose Sword.
Eugeo: Good luck, Kirito.
Kirito: Thanks.
Super Sonic: Ready to go, Black Swordsman?
Kirito: Heh. I sure am.
Eugeo and everyone else flies up to the World's End Altar and praying that their two friends will make it back safely.
Cardinal: Sonic... Kirito... You are this worlds last hope.
Super Sonic: Let's wrap this up fast, and go back home.
Kirito: Right.
They both face at Subtilizer.
Super Sonic: You mind telling us who you are?
Subtilizer: One who seeks, steals, and robs.
Kirito: What are you seeking?
Subtilizer: Souls.
His dark power starts building up.
Subtilizer: I've heard so much about you, Sonic the Hedgehog. And who is the one in black? Why are you two here? What gives you both the right to stand before me?
Kirito: Me?
His dark power causes Kirito to space out and surround him.
Super Sonic: What's wrong? Ah!
Asuna's voice: You are Kirito. The Black Swordsman.
He snaps out of it.
Kirito: My name is Kirito! They call me the Black Swordsman!
Kirito's power interrupts Subtilizer's.
Kirito: What about you? What's your name?
Subtilizer: Gabriel. I am Gabriel Miller.
He unsheathes a big sword with a very dark aura. Meanwhile, Sonic charges up his spin dash, and Kirito unsheathes the Night Sky Blade and the Blue Rose Sword, and fairy wings appear on his back.
Super Sonic: Let's finish this!
Sonic moves in first, damaging him really hard. Then, Kirito flies higher and starts chanting a sacred art.
Kirito: System Call! Generate all elements!
Every kind of element gets generated around Kirito. Then, he charges at Gabriel.
Kirito: Discharge!
They all fire at him, and stab right into him.
Subtilizer: Hehe.
His right arm becomes a whip and swings at Kirito. Luckily, he was able to deflect all his tentacle strikes and evade them. He slashes at Subtilizer in the front and stabs him in the back with the Blue Rose Sword. But unfortunately, his wounds heal.
Super Sonic: Uh oh.
They look up to their friends, flying at the altar.
Subtilizer: I estimate another 5 minutes until they reach the system console. I'll give you both 3 minutes. Be sure to keep me entertained.
Kirito: How generous of you.
Super Sonic: That's enough time for us.
Gabriel stabs his flying platform with his sword and devil wings grow on his back.
Subtilizer: I stole this from you.
He charges at Kirito, breaking his block, and knocking him back. Then, he raises his arm up in the air and dark lightning erupts from the sky.
Super Sonic: Split up!
They both go in separate directions, evading the lightning. A while later, Kirito cuts the lightning with both swords.
Kirito: Sonic!
Super Sonic: Wha...?
Subtilizer swings his sword at Sonic, who dodges each attack. As he makes another strike, Sonic grabs his sword arm with his left hand and punches him with his right hand, however, that didn't knock him back very far, and so he slashes Sonic with his sword, knocking him down on a plateau.
Super Sonic: Agh! He got me good, eh?
After the hedgehog gets knocked down, Subtilizer sends some dark tentacles after Kirito. He tries to block it with a force field, but that wasn't enough, and so they hit him hard, with wounds all over him.
Super Sonic: Kirito!
The Black Swordsman wasn't ready to give up yet, and neither was the golden hedgehog.
Subtilizer: Hahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
After his evil laugh, dark aura erupts all around him and as he releases energy, he transforms into a big green humanoid monster.
Kirito: I thought we would be able to prolong this fight long enough for Asuna, Eugeo, Alice, and the others to escape. But I think we were being too optimistic. If we fail here, we'll have to spend the next 200 years here. Perhaps that's what I was hoping for. To live in a virtual world that's surpassed even Aincrad. I never stopped considering the amount of grief, tears, and sorrow that would cause for Alice, Asuna, Eugeo, and all those who saved me.
Super Sonic: Kirito.
Kirito: In the end, I'm just the kind of person who doesn't know how others feel.
Super Sonic: Tell me you're not giving up.
Kirito: Sonic?
Super Sonic: It's not for your own sake if you didn't want to leave this world. You love the people you met here. In fact, I feel the same way. Throughout all the time we've been here, the Underworld is a very important place for us now. But even if we do leave this world, we'll be able to see them again anytime we want.
Kirito: Sonic...
Super Sonic: But this guy in front of us? He doesn't even know and will never understand how others feel. That's why he seeks, steals, and tries to destroy. Because he's too afraid to understand.
Subtilizer: It seems the black one is afraid. The fear that wells up when someone as cocky as him is on the brink of death... I wonder how it tastes.
Super Sonic: If anybody is afraid here, it's you!
Subtilizer fires some dark tentacles at them, but they couldn't evade them. And he grabs both of them.
Subtilizer: Your emotions, memories, hearts and souls... everything! I'll devour them all!
Kirito: You won't... find them there! The body is just a vessel! Memories are always...
Kirito opens his golden eyes.
Subtilizer: Huh?
They both break free and Kirito spreads out his two swords.
Kirito: Release Recollection!
He releases the memory of both the Night Sky Blade and Blue Rose Sword. Pointing the Blue Rose Sword at Subtilizer, he ties him up in vines of ice. Then, he points his Night Sky Blade up. It fires a beam in the sky and creates a dark night all around the Underworld. Sinon, relaxing down at the rocky canyons, looks up at the night sky.
Sinon: This night... It's Kirito's heart. Then send my heart to him and Sonic.
A blue star shines above her. Then, at the ruins where the Human Empire unit and Dark Territory forces are at, the night sky appears above them.
Jaune: What's this?
Ruby: This night...
Leafa: Big Brother... (Send my strength to my big brother's sword.)
A green star appears above.
Vector: Man. Those two. How are we gonna top them?
Espio: Sonic and Kirito are definitely strong. Without a doubt.
Charmy: You said it!
Amy: Sonic... Kirito...
Yui: Daddy... (Please win, Daddy. I love you so much.)
Iskahn: Hey Sheyta. What do you think it means to have power... to be strong?
Sheyta: You already know the answer. There's a greater power than anger or hatred.
A red and white star appears as Sheyta and Iskahn pray for Sonic and Kirito. Stars appear all over the sky as everyone prays for the two heroes.
Lisbeth: Sonic and Kirito are too cool, right?
Silica: They sure are.
Yuuki sends a peace sign up in the sky, and Klein puts his fist up in the air, smiling.
Klein: You got this.
LLENN, Fukaziroh, Pitohui, Kureha, and Zeliska look up.
Pitohui: *Sigh* Will we ever top them?
Fukaziroh: This time, they've definitely stolen the show.
LLENN: Hey, I mean, Sonic and Kirito will be Sonic and Kirito, right?
Zeliska: The Black Swordsman and the fastest thing alive...
Kureha: They're such legends.
Then, Ruby puts her hands together and prays for Sonic and Kirito.
Ruby: I know you can win. You both have conquered SAO after all.
Yang: Hey guys. When this is all over, let's throw a big party.
Weiss: We're gonna need plenty of cooks, then.
Blake: And a lot of seats.
Jaune and Pyrrha hold hands, looking up at the sky.
Jaune: *Sigh*
Pyrrha: What's wrong?
Jaune: We've had plenty of adventures, right?
Pyrrha: We have.
Jaune: I have a feeling you're gonna apologize again.
Pyrrha: Huh?
Jaune: Ever since Ruby saved you back at Amity Tower a few years ago, you've been apologizing nonstop.
Pyrrha: Oh... I have... Yeah, I think about it all the time and I feel bad for it.
Jaune: You're here now, and that's what matters.
They both kiss and look back up to the sky.
Ren: Hey Nora.
Nora: Huh?
Ren: Uh... Nevermi...
Nora: Nope! If you're gonna say something, then say it.
Ren: Well... It's just... How are you feeling right now?
Nora: I'm happy. Just like everyone else right now.
Ren: Oh. That's good.
Nora: Why were you asking?
Ren: Uh... Well... I'm just... glad to be here with you.
Nora: Ren...
Sortiliena, Ronie, Tiese, and Renly look up at the sky.
Renly: What it means to live. To live, fight, and connect our lives and hearts. And that... that's the only proof of strength.
Sortiliena and Ronie smile for a brief moment and look back up in the sky. Meanwhile, at the Eastern Gate ruins, Fanatio, The Four Whirling Blades, Deusolbert, Linel, Fizel, Eldrie, Eydis, and Medina pray for Sonic and Kirito.
Eldrie: Sonic... Kirito... Protect my mentor.
Medina: You both better come back safe.
Eydis: I hope I get to see Alice again. She's my best friend.
At Rulid Village, Selka looks up at the night sky and prays for them as well.
Selka: Sonic. Kirito. Eugeo. Alice. Please watch over each other.
Her star shines above. Everyone in the Underworld prays for the two heroes. Including the students at the Swordcraft Academy, the Operator at the Central Cathedral, as well as the goblins, orcs, giants, and humans of the Dark Territory. Very soon, stars fill the entire night sky above the whole world, and they all fly over to where Sonic and Kirito are. As Asuna and the others nearly reach the World's End Altar, they look back at Sonic and Kirito, sending their hearts to them.
Eugeo: Kirito... Sonic...
Knuckles: Heh...
Tails: We sure have a lot of friends, don't we?
Mighty: You bet we do.
Ray: So much has happened ever since SAO, eh?
Tails: Yeah.
Bercouli: It's nice to know there are so many who care about you.
Alice: Whether our souls are artificial or not, our feelings are real. I've been away from my two best friends for so long. And I'm glad we're back together.
Cardinal: I felt that with Sonic, Kirito, Mighty, and Ray. What it means to be human.
Asuna: Sonic... Kirito...
Stars fly from them to Sonic and Kirito.
Tails: Sonic, Kirito, you can win. I know that.
Sonic looks up at the stars flying to him and Kirito. He raises his arm up in the air.
Super Sonic: Thanks everyone.
Subtilizer: Null... Nu...ll...
He breaks free from the ice.
Subtilizer: NULL!
Right after that, he raises his hand forward, and then looks up in the sky, as a bunch of stars fly into Kirito's blade, and Sonic. Kirito's two swords ignite and a golden aura appears around both heroes as they make one last stand, facing their foe.
Super Sonic, Kirito, and Subtilizer: HRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGH!
Subtilizer fires some tentacles at them, but Kirito makes a force field, blocking them.
Super Sonic: Let's go, Kirito!
They both charge ahead at him, then, spirits of Vixur, Lipia, Administrator, and Sachi appear around them.
Vixur: Cast away all murderous intent. His empty soul cannot be slashes by an incarnation of murder.
Administrator: Show me your true power. The fate of this world rests in you.
Sachi: Kirito. Sonic. Don't ever give up, no matter what. Believe in all those you love.
They disappear and the two heroes continue ahead, attacking all at once.
Super Sonic: Here goes!
Kirito: Starburst... Stream!
Kirito starts unleashing his 16-hit combo dual-wielding skill on Subtilizer, and Sonic unleashes a massive flurry of spindashes. The attacks become so powerful that it shakes the ground around them.
Kirito: It's over, Gabriel!
They both land their final strike on Gabriel, as Kirito's sword bursts with energy, and so does Sonic.
Subtilizer: Hahahahaha! It's pointless! I'm going to devour the both of you!
Super Sonic: Like you would! You don't even know the first thing about the human heart!
Kirito: You're way too afraid to even know!
Subtilizer: Hahahahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!
Very soon, a massive explosion erupts and flies up to the sky, and creates a big explosion. As their friends arrive at the altar, they look back at them.
Tails: Sonic? Kirito?
The smoke clears, showing the two heroes, alive and standing.
Super Sonic: Well, we did it.
Kirito: Yeah. Seems like the maximum acceleration phase hasn't started yet.
Super Sonic: We'd better hurry, then.
They fly on over to the Altar, where their friends are at.
Tails: Sonic! Kirito!
Sonic turns back to normal and Kirito's wings disappear. Then, the sun rises as daytime appears above the Dark Territory.
Sonic: How much time is left?
Tails: About 8 minutes.
Sonic: Good. Time to head back to the real world and kick those punks out.
Alice and Eugeo run to Sonic and Kirito and hug them.
Alice: Thank goodness. I'm so glad.
Eugeo: We were so worried, Kirito. You've been unconscious for a long time.
Kirito: I'm sorry. I'm here now, so you don't have to worry.
Kirito hands Eugeo back the Blue Rose Sword.
Eugeo: Thank you, Kirito.
Kirito: You're welcome.
Eugeo: When we get to the real world, let's find some place for the three of us to hang out.
Kirito: Sure. And maybe you and Alice can go on a date as well.
Alice and Eugeo's faces turn red.
Eugeo: Kirito!
Alice: S-Stop it!
Kirito: Ahahahahaha!
Cardinal: Ahem! There is no time to waste right now. We must hurry.
Kirito: Right.
Sonic: We'll talk about this stuff after we stop the maximum acceleration phase, and after we kick those invaders out.
Bercouli: Little one. Take care. Come back soon, okay?
Alice: I will. You take care as well, Uncle.
They both hug for a moment, and head to the system console to log out. They wave goodbye to Cardinal and Bercouli as they log out of the Underworld.
Cardinal: We could have stopped this war from happening if those invaders haven't come.
Bercouli: Well, the war is over now. And it seems we can make peace with both the Human Empire and the Dark Territory.
Cardinal: Indeed. The rest is in their hands. Now we must make a memorial for the fallen and rebuild the order.
Bercouli: Of course.
They both take off with the dragons.
Cardinal: We await your return.
