Dawn descended in the sky above Tokyo, giving light to the ruins of the Japanese capital, the after-effects of the explosion had left a strong and not-so radioactive mist. After surviving what seemed to be the toughest night ever, civilians began to come out of hiding, hoping that Godzilla was gone and Gamera had left.

Many soldiers were setting up barricaded zones, cautious to the situation. Those who were discovered to have become contaminated with radioactivity were rushed off to the hospital by an ambulance. Reporters from across the globe were flooding the scene, eager to catch the news.

"The scene here is remarkable here!" Brunette British reporter Theresa Burr Martin exclaimed into the camera, "This is almost sure to bring back memories of when the atomic bomb was first dropped onto the city of Hiroshima in 1945 as well as memories of the aftermath of the first Godzilla attack of 1954.

"Only this time, the entire city was the main battleground in an all-out war between the turtle known as Gamera and another Godzilla. With everything clouded in mist, it is currently unknown what the outcome was, who was destroyed? As soon as the mist clears, we are bound to find out."

News cameras flashed like wild as people chattered amongst themselves, many were putting on gas masks to avoid breathing in the radioactivity.

Alarms blared as workers worked tirelessly to retrieve those lost in the rubble either injured or fading, it would be a long time until Japan recovered from the shock of it all.

Far below the ruins of the capital, the Prime Minister and his staff were waking up from their sleep they'd entered in the meeting room and were learning the news of what had happened during the events of the previous night before.

Almost every last cabinet member in the room happened to discover that it seemed Tokyo looked like a radioactive ghost city with the exception of it still being populated, not to mention none of the clashing kaiju seemed to be anywhere in sight at all thanks to all the mist that was slowly starting to let up.

"Goodness me." The Prime Minister rubbed his head as if he was trying to get rid of a headache, "What a night we just had with those two monsters fighting, I just hope we don't have to worry about Godzilla any time soon at least for now."

His secretary lowered his head grimly, "There's a chance the monsters are OP and indestructible, the explosion might have knocked them out, soon as the mist clears, they'll wake up and leave."

The people in the room chattered amongst themselves, talking worriedly about how they would have to deal with the fallout of recent events in the weeks and months to come. Due to the amount of damage Tokyo had received, including the Tokyo Tower, it would take lots of effort to get everything put back together.

It had taken a few decades for Japan to be rebuilt after the devastation caused by the Allied bombings in 1942-1945 during the war, how long did the Japanese people have to recover and endure who knew how many years of rebuilding?

So many homes were gone, that increased the number of homeless people. When New Year's Eve rolled in, a lot of people would not be commemorating the beginning of the new millennium happily, they would be in mourning due to the loss of many loved ones, including their homes.

Many, however, would hope that things would get better in the coming new year and the start of a new decade. The top most important thing at the top of everyone's New Year list; That a Godzilla-related disaster did not happen to Tokyo again...

"Mrrrrrrnk! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrnk!" Godzilla opened his eyes, consciousness finally restoring as the mist surrounding him began to clear up. This was definitely not like forty years ago with the nuclear explosions, this "nuclear explosion" had knocked him out temporarily.

With all of his might and strength, the beast rose to his feet, looking at his surroundings. In seconds, Godzilla noticed that it was daylight and it had been hours since he went all-out with his super ultra charged radioactive powers. The experience had drained his energy dry and, when the explosion happened, he'd passed out.

Remembering what had taken place hours earlier, Godzilla noticed the bulky outline of what looked like a fallen Gamera through the mist.

Believing he'd vanquished his foe at last, the King of the Monsters reared his head back towards the sky and, stomping the ground, he let out an earthshattering roar that made a surviving office building shake on its foundation, "SKREEE-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN-GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNK! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOONK! GYAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRNGK!"

Down below, people shrieked as they ran for cover, horrified that the kaiju was still alive and had not been obliterated in the explosion nearing the end of the fight. The ground suddenly rumbled, but it wasn't Godzilla marching back towards the sea to leave.

Gamera (whose torso had closed shut), also still alive, woke and got to his feet. Not noticing his nemesis standing there unscathed, believing that the beast had been destroyed. Gamera let out a victorious roar, "AHHHHHHRRRAHRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHRRRRR!"

Turning, Gamera was shocked at what he saw; Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, in one piece, still alive and not even a single scratch, also shocked. "Grrrrr?" Gamera growled, he looked furious.

Godzilla growled back menacingly, almost as eager for a rematch as he took 4 steps forward, stopping just 3 inches from the titan forged from ancient Atlantian technology, "MRRRrrrnk! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrnk! SKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNGK!"

The two monsters stared each other down, processing their own shock, thinking over what to do. Gamera was surprised that Godzilla was extra-durable, making him an indestructible enemy, nothing compared to Garyaos. During the battle with Garyaos, Gamera had used 50% of his powers to destroy the big guy in seconds, just mere minutes into the fight.

Godzilla was shocked as well, after being dumped in lava and being blasted by his nuclear heat ray a bunch of times, Gamera would not go down. He was invincible against anything, this could not last forever, one way or another, Godzilla would defeat the giant turtle. It would take weeks, maybe months, to figure something out.

Then in the end, either Godzilla beat Gamera or the turtle finally crushed him. Another minute later, the monsters decided to call an impasse. Godzilla turned and walked off back towards the sea, Gamera watched him go, looking up at the sky and roaring loudly. Amidst it all, civilians cleared the area to avoid being crushed under Godzilla's feet.

When Godzilla reached the nearby beach, just next to the harbor where he came ashore hours before, he took one last look at the ruins of Tokyo, vowing to finally obliterate Gamera one day when he'd finally achieved true power, before walking into the blue ocean, creating ripples with each step in the shallow area until he was waist deep.

Watching the beast from afar, Gamera ignited his rocket engines, contracting his legs into his casing, and took off into the sky, arms outstretched like wings as he flew. Hearing his nemesis flying away, Godzilla looked up at the sky and watched as Gamera flew off into the distance to parts unknown.

As the outline of the giant turtle faded from sight, Godzilla resumed course, heading out into the Pacific, looking for a place to call home where he could rest and recover from the battle for a long time, maybe take on more radiation and build up his strength until the time was right to confront Gamera in one last battle and finally destroy him.

"SKREEEEEEEEEEEEOOOONK!" The King of the Monsters roared as the thought of himself standing over the corpse of Gamera flashed in his mind. The dream of destroying Gamera for good seemed to delight Godzilla, he was satisfied to plan out what would be the giant turtle's final defeat.

Godzilla knew only one truth, he would not rest until he had finally beaten that turtle, securing his ascension to greatness and ensured that he kept the title as King of the Monsters...

The End!
