*Nova's Pov*

I pulled and backed away from Zuko that my back hit the bed frame. Hands-on my mouth eyes wide with shock. Zuko got up from the floor eyes staring me like a wounded animal. He knelt down in front of me and pushed a stray silver hair behind my ear.

"I wanted to do that for a while now...I missed you Nova" he whispered as he lifted my chin to face him. I narrowed my eyes as he placed his forehead on mine. Remembering my anger and betrayal I pushed him off me and stood up glaring at him. He kept eye contact with me watching my every move.

"Where is Iroh Zuko. More importantly, why did you send a freak eye after me and my friends?" I asked he moved to get closer to me but I held out my hand stopping him in his place.

"You can answer my questions where you're standing Zuko,'' I growled at him. Zuko sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. I can feel the conflict in his arura but will it be enough for him to change.

''I sent the hit man for you and Aang only he won't live. My sister told our father that I killed the avatar thinking he wasn't dead as always Azula was two steps ahead. I finally got my father's attention and restored my honor if Uncle would have done the same he wouldn't be staying in a filthy cell" Zuko's eyes clouded with anger and hurt. I shook my head feeling very disappointed and angry. I step closer to him eyes blazing in fury he eyed me warily and I slapped him with a bit of my holy energy leaving a pink glow red mark and his cheek that was slowly fading. He hissed in pain and glared at me like he wanted to fight me.

''YOU SENT SOMEONE TO KILL AANG?! If you call any of what you did is honorable think again Zuko! Is your father even worthy of your affections and time? Is losing yourself to your father's happiness worth what your getting now? WAKE UP ZUKO! Your father is a murder and a tyrant -

''SHUT UP! You have no idea what I've been through!" Zuko shouted at me I took a step back from his booming voice. His fits were clenched and fire started to form on them. But that didn't stop me from talking.

"What are going to do Zuko? Throw me in a cell for speaking the truth?" I hissed back at him. Zuko opened his mouth to speak but two guards barged in and grabbed me roughly from my shoulders leading me out.

"What are you doing unhand her!" Zuko barked at the guards who were rushing towards only Kami's knows where with Zuko behind them.

"The fire lord wants a word with you, Prince Zuko" One of them spoke Zuko tensed and follows quietly though I wasn't afraid of the fire lord but this was the first time meeting the person who ordered my family my people to death. I walked with my head held high and my face as stoic as ever that father would be proud of.

When we reached big wooden red doors with a golden handles with a lion turtle above them holding the rings in place did one of the guards used to knock. A deep-voice allowing us entry.

There was a big table placed in the middle with chairs down the sides. A wall of fire with the man himself behind it. With my demon vision, the flames couldn't hide him or his smirk that I wished so badly to wipe off. He had a very strong build and had an air of indifferent to him.

"Ah prince Zuko when I heard you captured the Inudemon I was not sure it was true. But Azula never was the one who lied and for Mai to confirm" The fire lord praised I glared at the man before never taken my eyes off him but I can feel Zuko tense at his words. The fire lord stepped down from his throne the flames parting as he walked down to step in front of me.

He circled around me as if he was studying me. He nodded to himself and pulled my chin to meet his eyes.

"The great daughter of Lord Sesshomaru the killing perfection. Shame he and your mother and the rest of your people met a sad end." Fire lord Ozai said with a smile on his face I glared at him and spat in his face.

What happened next set me off. Ozai slapped me across my face and my demon started to show. Around me, pink like mist formed and crackled like a whip the two guards screaming in pain while Ozai held back his pain that my holy power mixed with my poison burned his skin.

Zuko however stood still eyes widening with shock as the guards were nothing but a pink goo on the floor.

"ENOUGH! Or I'll kill the only family you have left!" Ozai yelled my power as quick as it showed went away. A small gasp left me when I heard his words. Though I know it was foolish to have hope I still clung on to it no matter how thin.

Ozai nodded at the new guards who walked in fear reeking off their weak bodies as they saw their friends nothing more than a pile of goo on the floor. The doors opened and in chains were two people I never expected to see and long thought dead.

In his robe of the fire rat and his silver hair was quick to identify as my uncle Inuyasha though his hair was a bit dirty and he looked roughed up and his ears were flat on his head. He wasn't in his demon form he only had the sleeve that once covered his sword. Behind him was Shippo still in his royal get up from home like mine. He too looked worse for wear.

I gasped again seeing them and tears forming in my eyes. I tried to run to them but Ozai held me back. Zuko tensed again as I was pulled more closer to his father's side.

"Uncle Yasha! Shippo!" I yelled both their heads snapped in my direction eyes wide and anger flashed in their eyes as they saw who held me.

"Let her go Ozai! We followed everything you said we helped you gain Ba Sing Se!" Inuyasha yelled. I felt my heart fall to my stomach if what he said was true than my mother was in danger!

*Katara's Pov*

After the fall of Ba Sing Se, we heard stories about two men keeping watch on the people. Most believe they're the newest weapon from the fire nation as they had weird powers that weren't any kind of bending. Most strange that one of them had dog ears on his head and the other resembled a fox.

We had four days until the day of black sun. A day were fire benders couldn't bend for a few hours. Aang once again woke everyone up and was currently telling Sokka to climb the cliff as he wasn't fast enough in one of his dreams.

Toph drinking water spit it out when Aang yelled ''Don't drink that!"

"WHY WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT!" Toph asked anxiously.

"In my dream, you had to go to the bathroom and couldn't hold we all died because of your tiny bladder!" Aang said eyes twitching from lacky of sleep.

Jane snickered and Toph glared at her from where she sat not far off from where we sat. Even though Toph couldn't see her she shrugged her shoulders. I turned to Aang worried for him and came up with a plan to get him to sleep.

While Jane and I were getting the wool off the sheep we spoke about the going on in Ba Sing Se.

"I hope Lin is alright and our families. What do you make of the two men that is keeping watch over the city?"Jane asked. I shrugged my shoulders unsure what to think.

Jane only nodded her head and kept sewing the wool. "I think they are being used by the fire nation" I answered after a while.

"I have to agree with you Katara. That seems a lot like the fire nation. Though it's been quite for a couple of days I can't help but worry we haven't heard anything about Nova since she was taken." Jane's voice broke and her hands started to shake with fear.

I grabbed her hand and smiled at her. "I'm sure Nova is fine she knew what she was doing. You two are close right tell me about it." I asked hoping to distract the girl from her assumptions and the up coming invasion.

Jane smiled at me and nodded her head. "Nova was new to our school when we first met. She mostly kept to herself head in a book or writing in her notebook for her family's restaurant. I was friends with the popular girls at the time I didn't realize what snobs they were and how I acted the same. One day I had a fight with another girl for talking bad about those so-called friends. I was roughed up but the other girl was worse than I. Nova Walker up face stoic and got the other girl off me before I stroke another blow to her head. Before I could even fight her her words stopped me. 'Why waste time on fighting for your friends if they wouldn't do the same for you?' she asked me. I turned and saw how those friends giggling at me. It wasn't till that day were I broke ties with them. Nova at first didn't mind when I started hanging out with her at school till those girls came up to us trying to get a rise out of me. But Nova shook her head and spoke. She never really spoke but she listened to me when I thought she just ignored me. But she told those girls everything about that they didn't even know it favorite food my dreams and such. That's when she became more open with me and we been friends ever since." Jane finished

I smiled as I could picture Nova doing just that. They were silent for a moment.

"Nova is lucky to have you as a friend Jane. Sad that Lin couldn't see the same." I said with an edge to my tone. Jane brought her sewing needles down and looked angry.

"Lin is sometimes rough around the edges and it might seem like she doesn't care but Lin is like our sister. I don't know why she said what she did but I know she didn't mean it. I'm sorry it's just we all been through so much together that Lin wouldn't toss that aside." Jane said but I could see the doubt in her eyes.

"Maybe your right Jane sorry if I was out of line." Jane smiled and we went back to work we laughed when Sokka finally yelled he climb the cliff to which Toph said it only took him an hour to do so.

*Zuko's Pov*

I looked at Nova who was being held roughly by Father. Her eyes glossy with tears as she looked at the two men in front of her. To say I was shocked to hear her say uncle was an understatement. I thought her kind was killed off like the air benders. Seems like that wasn't the case as they stood before me.

A man with dog-like ears glared at father but his eyes showed relief that Nova was alive and the boy looked to be like a fox from the waist down. His green eyes showed a kind of care for Nova which left me feeling jealous.

"Let them go I'll do anything you say just let them go" Nova said with her voice full of emotion that I never heard from her before. Father laughed at her which I flinched worried that something worse was about to happen from that laugh alone.

"See my dear if I do that what's stopping them from trying to rescue you? No I won't have that. See it wasn't them I wanted but none the less they proved themselves useful. But if you doing as your told I'll keep them alive. We have much to discuss about the day of black sun." his father replied.

My eyes snapped to Nova though she didn't change her appearance her eyes harden. Father turned to me and ushered me to sit next to Nova as he shoved down on the chair. I heard the dog ear man growl in warning.

"Zuko son you and your friends will be heading to ember island for a few days. You will be taking Nova here with you. Once she tells me all she knows of course." his father said I tensed again knowing what he will ask her. With a snap of his fingers, I knew it was time for me to leave.

I walked past the two men who glared at me as I made my way out. I went back to my room knowing father would send Nova back. It felt like hours but only was 30 minutes till guards brought in Nova. After they left Nova stood quite I could tell she was angry by her shaking hands. She looked up at me and knew what I was going to ask.

"I didn't tell your father about Aang. Even though I hate what you have done I couldn't let anything bad happen to you knowing who your father is it wouldn't be merciful. " She said icely I nodded my head a weight was lifted off my shoulders.

"What did father want." I asked her. She took a deep breath before she spoke and when she did part of me was filled with happiness shock and than wary of my father's reason for it.

"In exchange for my family's safety, I agreed to be married to you. My powers will be sealed and are to only be used when your father is of need of them." Nova explained.

I knew I should be happy but now I fear for her. Father has bigger plans of this I know and Azula will use her powers to get whatever she needed from Nova. Realization hit me like a ton of bricks. I had to get Nova out of the fire nation free uncle Iroh and hopefully with any luck find the hitman and stop him from killing Aang.

It was time to stand up for what is really good instead of what I think is right.
