This chapter is based on my experience watching Weathering with You with my friends. I tried my best to be vague about the movie details but I couldn't be as vague as I wanted so there are Weathering with You spoilers. Enjoy!
Kokichi and Himiko sat on a coach in his dorm room at Hope's Peak, watching a movie on TV. A big write-on wall calendar had color coded homework assignments and outings scribbled on it. Pictures of Kokichi and his roommates Shuichi, Kaito, and Keebo were taped to the wall to the right. Keebo and Miu were working on inventions in her research lab while Kaito and Shuichi were out at the batting cages.
Himiko and Kokichi watched the protagonist of the movie, Weathering with You, run towards the building where the heroine lay waiting. Holding her breath, Himiko balled her red jumper dress. "Run! Don't stop; keep going!" When the hero stumbled, Himiko winced.
Kokichi popped a handful of popcorn into his mouth. Chewed loudly. "It doesn't matter how fast he runs. She's already gone."
"Quiet, quiet!" Himiko sniffed. "No, she's not!"
"Oh, she so totes is – Eh? Awww! Is wittle Himichi crying?"
"No." A sniff. "Maybe."
"Aww, I wanna hold you." Kokichi wrapped his arms around Himiko and rubbed his cheek into her head. "It'll be okay. Let your loving boyfriend hold you close–"
Himiko shoved him away. "Cut it out! I'm not a child!"
Kokichi wiped his fingers on his Rock Band t-shirt. "You can't be surprised that this is happening. They warned about it in the beginning of the movie, y'know."
Himiko wrung her hands. "Yeah but… he's trying and crying so hard. How can you not be moved?"
Kokichi shrugged. Hummed an "I don't know" noise.
"You're a stone."
After another thirty minutes the credits rolled. Kokichi put his hands behind his head. "What a curious ending. I actually didn't predict it for once."
Smiling, Himiko clasped her hands. "But it's so romantic. I loved it."
Kokichi leaned against the couch, elbows out to the side atop the couch's back. "Yeah, but they're together at the whole city's expense."
"Well if I had a high enough level in water magic that I made it rain every day, would you still want to be with me?"
"Sure, I guess?"
"You're lying. I don't believe you." Exhaling, Himiko hung her head. She muttered. "Why couldn't I have dated a romantic boyfriend? What was I thinking…?"
Kokichi held Himiko's chin and turned her face towards him. His lavender eyes smoldered. "No matter how much it rains, you'd be my sun."
Himiko's face burned crimson.
Kokichi snorted. "Heh…"
"Raaagh! You're so mean! I don't know why I bother watching movies with you at all!"
"Nee-heehee! You're the one who fell for that stupid, cheesy line."
"You don't care about the characters, you chew like a horse, you belittle me for crying! I should just go watch stuff with someone else. Someone who respects me…"
"Fine, go right ahead. But then you won't get to cuddle with me all movie long."
"Nyeh…" Himiko laid her head on Kokichi's shoulder and curled up against his side. "Okay, fine. Now pat my head."
"Nee-heehee. Sure thing, my beloved mage. Sure thing."
