Notes: I'll be honest. I never thought I'd write more to this story. But here I am a year and a half later, uploading a new chapter! Goes to show you, never say never... anyways, it's a short one, because well, I had to reacquaint myself with the story and get back in the swing of it. But I'm gonna try and work some more on it this weekend and get it back to where it was. If anybody out there is still interested in reading this, check it out and let me know what you think!
Charlotte sat down on Bayley's bed, her hand reaching out to touch her friend's cheek. Her distraught friend had been beside herself for the last twenty four hours, shutting all three of them out since finding out that she was pregnant.
With her rapist's child, nonetheless.
It just felt like one thing after another was falling onto her, like an avalanche of pain that never ended.
Bayley didn't deserve that.
"Sweetie, can you look at me, please?" asked Charlotte, a hint of desperation in her voice. She had just started getting better. They had just managed to get her away from this black hole of depression. And here she was again, right back at square one.
As if the last month and a half of recovery had never happened.
God Dammit.
"Come on, Bay. Just talk to me, honey. Just say something, sweet girl," whispered Charlotte, her fingers gently brushing through strands of Bayley's hair.
Her plea was met with silence, Bayley turning her body away from Charlotte in an attempt to continue ignoring her.
"Honey, you need to talk about this. We can help you, baby girl. You don't have to be alone with this," said Charlotte, her fingers trailing down her hair and onto her back.
Bayley whimpered, squeezing her eyes shut as she felt hot tears start rolling down her face. Charlotte frowned, shifting herself so she was lying down, pulling her heartbroken friend into her arms. Bayley turned back around, burying her face into Charlotte's shirt; sobbing.
Charlotte tightened her arms around her, smothering Bayley with kisses to her hair and forehead, keeping her lips close to her.
"What is it, honey? What are you thinking right now, baby?" she whispered rubbing circles on her back.
"I don't know what to do, Charlotte. What am I gonna do? Why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this?!" she cried, choking on her tears. Charlotte sighed, lifting Bayley's gaze to meet her own.
"You didn't do anything to deserve this, Bay. Sweet girl, you don't deserve this at all, honey. Please believe me," whispered Charlotte, reaching out to stroke her cheek. "Becca and Sasha and I are here to help, sweetheart, with whatever you decide. Whatever you want to do, we're here, okay?" assured Charlotte, Bayley nodding tearfully, lowering her gaze once more.
"I thought it was over. I thought it was finally over! Why does it keep coming back to me?!"
Charlotte swallowed hard, closing her eyes as she carefully sat up, pulling Bayley into her arms, rocking her gently back and forth as she continued to cry.
"I don't know, baby girl. I don't know."
Sasha entered into the bathroom, closing and locking the door behind her before turning the shower on. She quickly undressed, getting in and allowing the hot water to wash over her. It didn't take long for the tears to follow.
"WHY?!" she screamed, staring up at the ceiling. "WHY HER?! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO DO THIS TO HER?!" she continued to scream, her tears turning into sobs. "WHAT DID SHE EVER DO TO DESERVE THIS KIND OF PAIN?!"
Her screams turned into sobs quickly, Sasha allowing herself to fall to the floor of the shower. "Why didn't I stay with her that night? Why didn't I tell her to come back to the hotel with me?" she questioned out loud. "How could I have let this happen?"
Sasha hit the floor with her fist, curling into herself as she continued to cry. She should have been there. She should have prevented this from happening in the first place. Bayley didn't deserve to suffer like this. And it was all Sasha's fault that she was.
Becky stood outside the bathroom, sighing as she sadly listened to Sasha crying in the shower, having heard every word her close friend had screamed. She had known Sasha was hurting. Deep down she'd known she still blamed herself for what happened to Bayley that night, but she hadn't realized just how deep that blame was still running, and she guessed Charlotte didn't either.
For the past six weeks the three of them had put all of their attention and energy onto Bayley….but neither Charlotte nor Becky had realized or seen that Sasha was hurting on the inside just as much. And worse, she'd been suffering alone for the last six weeks.
