Chapter 9: I Feel Restless
Puck couldn't fall asleep. Grimm hadn't come home yet and he couldn't believe it. Why weren't her parents upset about it? How could she just leave and not come back? Where was she?
It was so frustrating. She had to come here and apologize to him. She was being unfair. She had said something about how Bradley had made her happy. How good things were. That was such nonsense. Did she forget about him? He was growing with her. Didn't that count for anything?
He was being silly. He was sure he would wake up in the morning and she would be begging for his forgiveness. Grimm would probably feel so bad for yelling at him like that. He couldn't wait for that apology.

The next day, Puck felt like he had barely slept. A part of him had expected Grimm to come home sometime during the night. But she never did. Maybe she had come home in the morning.
He hurried downstairs and almost crashed into Jake.
"Where's the fire?" Jake laughed.
"Uh- I'm just starving. There better be food waiting for me in that kitchen. Royalty deserves a good breakfast," Puck said as he walked towards the kitchen.
"Oh yeah, I'm sure this doesn't have anything to do with my niece."
Puck halted, "Grimm came back?"
Jake laughed again, "No, I just wanted to how you would react."
Puck scowled and continued into the kitchen. He noticed no one was around and realized it almost 10 am. Everyone had already gone to work or school. He made a sandwich and sat at the table. He didn't eat it though. He just stared at it and bounced his leg anxiously.
"What's going on with you?" Jake asked as he entered the room.
"Nothing," Puck replied.
"Really? Then why do you look like you barely slept."
Puck sighed and mumbled something.
"What?"
"Grimm didn't come back last night."
"Yeah, Daphne said Sabrina was at her friend's house. Who's that boy we met? Luke?"
Puck frowned, "Luke? Why did she stay there?"
"She was probably really confused and needed to talk to someone."
"Why didn't she talk to me?"
"Well, from what I heard, you weren't being a very good listener." Puck's frown only deepened but Jake continued, "You know we hurt her, right?"
"What? How?"
"Puck, we didn't come back for a long time. We barely sent any post cards or emails during that time, too. If you feel this bad about not seeing Sabrina for one night, imagine how she felt for those three years."
Puck looked at Jake confused, "But we didn't have any dumb fight. She knew I was travelling. It was only three years, that's not long at all."
"It is for her. You've been alive for a while now. Time has a different meaning for you. It feels different. But for her, it probably felt like a really long time. Especially since there wasn't a reason. You guys didn't have a fight or anything like that. She wasn't given any reason as to why we stopped visiting."
"Then why didn't she yell at us when we came back. When we were younger, she always yelled when she was upset."
"I think she was just so happy we were back that she didn't feel the need to hold a grudge."
Puck looked down at his food, "I feel restless. Like there's this issue between us and I just want it to disappear. But she didn't even come home last night. Does she not care about it?"
"Well, you aren't the only problem she has right now. From what Daphne told me, that Bradley kid seems like a problem that she also has to deal with.'
"But I'm more important."
Jake chuckled, "Not right now. Sabrina has to deal with an ex boyfriend. I think that probably the biggest thing on her mind. The way you reacted probably didn't help either."
"Ex boyfriend? Daphne never said they dated."
"Well, yeah. I guess they never officially dated but that doesn't mean the things she felt weren't valid or just as intense."
Suddenly, Puck felt annoyed. But he was no longer annoyed at Sabrina. He was annoyed at himself. "Why didn't I think about all that?"
Jake couldn't help but smile, "Just because you grew physically doesn't mean that you've matured completely. Feelings can be complicated."
"I hate growing up. Why is it so hard?"
"I'm sure you don't hate all of it. You and Brina will be fine if you actually listen to her and don't jump to conclusions."
"Okay, I'll wait until she comes home and then I'll try to make things better."
For the entire day, Puck anxiously waited at the Grimm's house. He couldn't sit still for more than a few minutes. Jake had gone to look at the same apartment as the day before. He told Puck that this was the one he would probably buy. He invited Puck to come with him but Puck wanted to stay home so he could apologize as soon as Sabrina got home. He just wanted things to be okay.

The Previous Day (after Sabrina left the house)
Sabrina hurried out of the house. She didn't want to start sobbing in front of Puck but she knew she wouldn't be able to control herself for much longer. She sprinted to her friends. She hoped they were at their house but she honestly couldn't remember if they were busy this afternoon. She had a key so she would just wait for them inside.
Her chest hurt and she couldn't tell if it was because she was running or crying. It was probably a combination of both. She hated feeling like this. She just needed to be away from Puck right now. Maybe she would stay the night with Luke and Bella. Yeah, that sounded good.
She stopped once she reached their house and pulled out her phone. She quickly texted her parents and Daphne that she wouldn't be coming home tonight. She unlocked the door and went inside. She walked into the living room and saw Bella sitting in the living room.
Bella looked at her and immediately got up to hug Sabrina. She started sobbing loudly as her friend held her. Bella slowly guided her to the couch and they sat down. Sabrina cried until she felt like she had no tears left. She sat there silently. Bella didn't try to say anything because she wanted to give Sabrina some time to gather her thoughts.
After a few minutes, Bella softly spoke, "Luke went to Alex's house but I'm sure he would come here if we asked him to."
Sabrina shook her head, "No, it's not that big of a deal. Can I stay here tonight though? I don't want to go back home."
"Of course sweetie."
Sabrina began to tell Bella everything that happened when she got home.
Bella hesitantly asked, "I know you had said on the phone that Bradley asked to hangout. Do you actually want to do that?"
Sabrina sighed, "I don't know. I want to try and be friends again. But I don't want him to think that the way he treated me was fair."
"You know, you don't have to forgive him and be friends to move on. You don't owe him anything. I'm not saying that you should be angry and hurt forever. It's not healthy to always feel like that. But you shouldn't feel like the only way to move on is to be friends with him again."
"We were barely friends to begin with. Everything moved so fast and then it all went away. I don't think I want to be friends with him. I don't know what came over me today. And now, I feel restless. Bradley thinks he can get away with anything and Puck is mad at me but he doesn't even know what's going on."
"It's okay. You don't have to figure it all out right now. Let's make some food."

Luke came home and saw his two best friends dishing out spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread in the kitchen. He wasn't surprised. Bradley had made a bold move when he talked to Sabrina this afternoon.
"Hey guys," Luke said as he washed his hands. They both smiled at him and went into the living room. Luke grabbed a plate and piled food onto it. He went to join the girls in the living room.
He wanted to ask Sabrina about what had happened this afternoon but he didn't want her to force her. He knew that she would tell him when she was ready.
The three ate together as they watched an episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine. Sabrina was starting to feel more and more better as she spent time with her friends. When they were done eating, Bella cleaned up while Sabrina explained to Luke what had happened.
Sabrina felt tired and just wanted to sleep. She said goodnight to her friends and went upstairs. She had claimed one of the rooms in the house as hers so she had a few clothes in it. She took a shower and got ready for bed.
She slipped into the bed and tried to calm her mind. Her thoughts were racing but, eventually, she fell asleep.
A.N. – Two quick things I wanna say
1. I briefly read one of my chapters and I noticed a few typos. I kind of just write a chapter and, as soon as I finish, I post it without even rereading it or anything. I'm really sorry for that because it's probably annoying to see grammatical errors and things like that when you're reading. I'll try to start checking it but I also feel weird reading my own work because I start to feel insecure and don't even want to post it.
2. Puck doesn't refer to Jake as Uncle Jake because they don't really have that type of relationship. While Jake may have a slight father role in Puck's life, I feel like they're more good friends than uncle/father and son. Jake looks out for Puck and tries to give him advice and help him grow up but I can't really imagine Puck calling him "Uncle Jake" so I don't write it in like that. Sabrina, Daphne and Basil do call him Uncle Jake but it's not a big deal when Puck doesn't call him that. But yeah, I just wanted to clear that up incase anyone noticed it.
That's all for now. Please keep writing reviews. I love reading them :)
