Lila stood in front of the mirror brushing her hair. She saw Félix leaning against the doorway in the mirror.

"I didn't kiss her, y'know."

Lila shrugged, "too bad. That would've really put the plan in motion, wouldn't it?"

"So you aren't upset?"

Lila turned around, tossing her hairbrush into the drawer, "why would I be?"

"I don't know, I just―"

Lila shoved past Félix forcefully, making him grunt, "made assumptions about me? You should know better than that."

Félix stuttered, "I didn't―"

"Yes, you did," Lila threw his schoolbag at him, "can we go now? Your whining is making me sick."

"Look, I don't know what I did, but if it isn't that―"

Lila whipped around, "you're not the main cause of everything, Félix. The world doesn't revolve around you. Get your head out of the clouds. I have other problems that don't concern you. Unlike your prissy family, mine has to struggle with finances. So shut up and get on with it."

The walk to the car was silent. No one said a word as they got in. When they were in the car, Félix broke the silence, "I'm sorry."

Lila rolled her eyes, "I don't need your pity. I just need your looks. Can you just ask Marinette to be your girlfriend already? It's only been a few days, but it's clear she's obsessed with you so she probably wouldn't even suspect a thing."

Félix nodded slowly, "I can do that."

"You better. Don't fail me, Félix."

"I won't—"

Lila's phone rang, interrupting Félix in the middle of his sentence. Lila answered and put her phone to her ear, "what do you want?"

"That is not the right way to talk to your mother, young lady!" Lila's mother's scratchy voice could be heard through the phone.

Lila risked a glance at Félix sitting next to her, "I can't do this right now."

"Too bad. I'm tired of your attitude. You used to be such a sweet girl when you stayed home alone. Now that you've gotten a job, it's like you think you're better than me and don't need me."

Lila felt the anger boil up inside her, "I'm doing this for you."

Mrs. Rossi's voice rose along with her temper, "I'm not dealing with your attitude right now. I only called to tell you that you are going to go to school today. I've already checked with the principal, the school is open today."

Lila gritted her teeth, "I have a job."

"Isn't your 'job' to take care of a boy your age? Just go to school with him. That's how you should do your job."

"I don't want—"

"If you don't go, I'm reducing the amount of time you can go to see your niece and nephew."

Lila sighed in defeat, "fine. Whatever. Bye," she hung up, shoving the phone into her pocket.

"Is everything alright?" Félix asked.

"I'm coming to school with you," Lila smiled her sickly sweet smile, "so yes, everything is absolutely splendid."

Félix rolled his eyes as the car came to a stop. The two got out, Lila grabbing her schoolbag she had thrown in the trunk out. She had thought she would never have to touch it again. She was clearly very wrong. She swung it across her shoulder, her movements very fierce due to her anger.

Lila began to stomp up the stairs of the school when a hand clasped around her arm and pulled her behind the left side of the stairs, behind the bushes. Lila groaned as she saw who it was.

"Chloé, what do you want?" she scoffed.

The blonde girl's yellow nails dug through Lila's jacket, "stay away from my Adrikins and Sabrina. If I see you touching or talking to any of them, life will become a living hell for you and your family, Lila Rossi. My father is the mayor, may I add."

"It already is hell," Lila muttered under her breath. Louder she spoke directly to Chloé, "daddy dearest won't be able to take me down, you spoiled brat. I'm with Gabriel Agreste, and daddy would never dare to harm his worker."

Chloé's face turned red, "well, my mother can—"

Lila laughed, her voice sweet like candy, a complete switch from before. She batted her eyelashes, "does mommy dearest know your name now? Congratulations, Chlorine. Or was it Clara? Nah, aren't you Courtney? Maybe Claudine? No, I haven't gotten it yet, have I?"

Chloé's hand reeled back, ready to smack Lila as tears welled against her eyes. She didn't get very far. Félix grabbed her hand, stopping it from making contact with Lila.

"Back away, Chloé," he warned.

"A-Adrikins? This-this-this witch deserves it."

Félix crossed his arms and stood in between the two girls, "she did nothing, Chloé. Leave her alone. We're all going to be late to class."

Lila's scowl deepened, "I can fight my own battles, thanks, Adrikins."

Lila pushed past the two blondes and walked up to Miss Bustier's classroom, seating herself next to Nathaniel. Shortly after, Félix and Chloé walked in and took their seats. Félix fist-bumped Nino and turned around to look at Marinette. He smiled gently at her, and spoke a few words. Lila couldn't hear them, but she saw Marinette's face go from pink to bright red and ending up at a ghastly green. Alya and Nino's faces were filled with pleasant shock, their eyes wide but their mouths open in a smile. Chloé's face turned white as she overheard the conversation. Lila could only assume what Félix had said. He was following her instructions. She had to repeat that to herself multiple times, desperate to maintain the jealousy forming inside her.

Marinette's face was now inside her shirt as she nodded furiously. Félix's mouth was in a smile, but his eyes were crying for help. Miss Bustier started the class, oblivious to Chloé's rage, Lila's pain, and Marinette's shock. Lila doubted anyone but Sabrina was paying attention to the lesson. A note was being passed around, containing information about the new couple. The note had originated from Alya. Lila doubted Marinette was aware of how soon word spread in this class.

The bell rang an hour later, signaling for the break. Everyone immediately got up, crowding around Marinette and Félix. Kim ruffled Félix's hair, much to his displeasure as the girls high-fived each other. Max was stating a statistic on their compatibility. Lila grumbled to herself as she slung her bag over her shoulder. She walked up to Marinette. She put on a smile, like she usually did, and congratulated her, much to her surprise. Félix smiled at her, a genuine smile, unlike the ones he sported the entire day. Lila smiled back, although, she only did it half-heartedly.
