Peparia sat in the waiting room of the hospital, panicking heavily. Twenty-five minutes ago, she stormed into the hospital with her gravely injured daughter, pleading that they save her. The staff, seeing the fear in Peparia's eyes, scrambled into action, bringing a gurney into the lobby, allowing Peparia to place her daughter on it.

There had been no update since. She trusted the doctors to save her pride and joy, but the wait was killing her. She prayed to any god that she could think of; the Kaio, the Kaioshin…anybody, please save her baby.

Thirty minutes later, the doctor she handed her daughter off came out into the lobby, a solemn look on his face.

"I'm sorry," the doctor said. "We can't save her."

Tears welled up in Peparia's eyes. Celes, the only being she had ever felt love for, was going to die.

"She has a few minutes before her body gives out. I can show you to her room," the doctor said, grabbing Peparia's arm and taking her down the hall. "Let you say your goodbyes."

Peparia opened the door to her daughter's room, and the sight broke her heart; Celes was hooked up to a ton of machines, some to monitor her vitals, some to drip medication into her blood, and some to ease the pain.

"Mommy?" Celes said weakly.

"I'm here, baby," Peparia said, trying to be strong for her dying daughter.

"It hurts," Celes said as Peparia took her daughter's hand.

"I know," Peparia said, trying hard to hold back her sobbing. "It'll all be over soon."

"I'm scared," Celes said, starting to cry.

"You'll be fine," Peparia said, smiling sadly. "You're going to go to heaven, where all the good and pure souls go."

"I don't want to go," Celes said, her tears starting to trail down her cheeks.

"It's okay, baby," Peparia said. "Just close your eyes and go to sleepy time junction, one more time."

"Sing it for me?" Celes asked, squeezing her mother's hand.

Peparia smiled sadly. This would be the last time she'd ever sing that song, and even though she'd hated it up to now, she'd miss it terribly. "Somebody's taking a train to sleepy time junction. Somebody is so tired she can barely function," Peparia sang, sobbing the entire time. "So, she's hopping 'board that train to sleepy time junction!"

Celes slowly closed her eyes, the beeping of the heart monitor slowing as Peparia continued the song. "'All aboard!' cried the engineer. 'Sleepy time junction is so near!' Somebody's taking a train to sleepy time junction. Somebody is so tired, she can barely function."

Peparia wiped her tears and looked up from her daughter and noticed the heart monitor; it flatlined. Celes was dead.

Peparia just lost it. Her grief, sorrow and most of all, rage, overwhelmed her. She started powering up without realizing it, letting out a primal wail of sorrow. She couldn't bear it. It couldn't be real, this sweet little girl whose life was ahead of her was gone, and nothing could bring her back. And Peparia was responsible for her daughter's death. Her pride and joy, the only thing that truly had meaning in her life was gone because Peparia failed her.

The rage at herself was rising, overwhelming her. It rose and rose and rose, until it finally exploded. She slammed her fists on the bed her daughter's body laid on, sobbing the entire time, and it crumbled under her. The shockwave hit the floor, and a crater formed around her. She cried out, and the power in her voice caused a shockwave around her, destroying equipment and sending things flying against the walls.

The doctor outside saw what Peparia hadn't realized what happened; her hair had turned golden and her ki had surged far beyond what the Great Ape could do. Peparia bared the mark of shame, the mark of Yamoshi. Peparia was a Super Saiyan.
