Chapter 10
An Akumatized Artefact?
Artie had already set up a makeshift base in the Louvre by the time Pete, Myka, Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Claudia had arrived at the Eiffel Tower, and what a gathering it was; it seemed that the whole of Paris was at the foot of the tower. And on the balcony was a startling man in a red and white uniform, he looked strangely familiar.
"wait a minute!" exclaimed Ladybug, "isn't that Alix's dad?"
"but artefacts don't give people costumes!" cut in Pete, "although, we did meet someone who gave himself a costume…",
"Pete, stay on task," said Myka, "it is clear that this isn't anything to do with an artefact, it is just another of those villains.", as if he heard this, the man then jumped and landed right in front of them!
"Vive la révolution!" he cried and at the same moment as he started to wave something like a saltshaker at them, Pete grabbed Cat Noirs stick, extend it and use it to pull them all away from the dust that came from the top of the object!
"RUN!" he shouted, and they all made a break for the nearest building.
Once inside, whilst Pete explained how he gets vibes at certain times, as a warning of danger. Myka got out her Farnsworth and called Artie,
"so, what was it?" Artie asked,
"it was just another villain armed with some saltshaker thing…"
"SALTSHAKER!" Artie cried as he turned his Farnsworth to face his laptop, "do you mean like this?" the image on the screen looked like the saltshaker the man was holding,
"YES!" Cat Noir exclaimed from behind her shoulder, "that looks like the Akumatized object!"
"except this is Gandhi's saltshaker, it gives a person all the plans and even a want to rebel against someone" explained Artie, "mostly they target the highest authority."
"Mayor Bourgeois!" Ladybug and Cat Noir said simultaneously,
"he is always doing the wrong thing and spoiling his daughter!" Ladybug concluded. "it is a wonder why anyone would vote for him as the mayor."
"But it was purple!" stated Cat Noir, "it must be an Akumatized object!",
"wait a minute!" Claudia exclaimed, "it must be an Akumatized Artefact! He was annoyed by the Mayor, he grabs the saltshaker, he gets angrier, and Hawkmoth sends an Akuma after him and it infects the saltshaker!". This made perfect sense, but Cat Noir stated the ultimate question,
"how do we remove the Akuma?" he asked, and then turned towards the Farnsworth "Artie, you told me that even if the Artefact is broken, it will remain an artefact, so we can't just break it!"
"we will cross that bridge when we come to it," declared Ladybug, determination written all over her face "let's see if I can't up our odds,".
Throwing her magical yo-yo into the air she shouted at the top of her voice, "LUCKY CHARM!", the yo-yo span faster in the air, and in a flash of blinding light an object landed in Ladybugs outstretched hand, it was, a canister with a red button on the top, there was even a strap which allowed it to be carried, what was it?
"what's inside?" asked Pete who was always too curious, Ladybug tried to open it but couldn't, then she tried the button on the lid, the lid then loosened and opened easily, inside was a lot of purple goo, the reaction this sight had on everyone was amazing, they all shouted the same word at the same time,
"NEUTRALIZER!"
