Chapter 18: Igniting Passion and Danger

Snowflake wasted no time as she ran to The Lookout. Her legs may have been sore from all the running she was doing, but she didn't stop running. Marshall NEEDED them!

The pups all ran towards the elevator and got into position. However, there was no crash by their favorite dally.

"Poor Marshall isn't here to crash into us," Rubble said sadly.

"Yeah. Come on, we have to help him," Snowflake said before the glass doors closed. The elevator went up to the badge on the tower, and the pups all got into their pup packs. Once they were done, the elevator went to the top of The Lookout. The glass doors opened and the pups jumped out, getting into position.

"PAW Patrol ready for action, Ryder sir!" Chase said as the pups were set for their mission.

"Thanks for coming pups," Ryder said as he pressed the red light on his pup pad. A screen lowered down and showed a digital version of the situation.

"We have a situation; Marshall got trapped in the woods when a fire broke out from the storm that was nearby. We have to rescue him!" Ryder said as the screen showed the situation.

"He doesn't have any of his fire gear, and we got separated when some trees fell between us! I'm sorry I couldn't help him. He told me to come get you guys, but I wanted to stay with him!" Snowflake added. She felt guilty about leaving the dally pup all by himself.

"I know you wanted to keep Marshall company, but getting us to help was the right thing to do," Ryder reassured the husky before pressing the red button on his pup pad again. He then pressed Snowflake's pup tag logo on his pup pad.

"Snowflake, I need you to help us find Marshall. Since you were the last person who saw him, you need to take us to him," Ryder said.

"Leave no rock, tree, or clue unseen!" Snowflake said. Ryder then pressed on Zuma and Skye's pup icons on his pup pad.

"Zuma, I need you to drive Marshall's fire truck and help put out the fire. Skye, you can get water from the bay, and drop it onto the fire from your helicopter. And try to find Marshall from the air," Ryder instructed.

"Let's dive in!" Zuna said.

"Let's take to the sky!" Skye said before doing a backflip. Ryder then pressed on Rocky and Rubble's icons on his pup pad.

"Rocky and Rubble, I need you two to help gather dirt to put on the fire while Skye is filling up her helicopter bag with water. We want the fire to be put out as much as possible," Ryder explained.

"Green means go!" Rocky exclaimed.

"Let's dig it!" Rubble said. Ryder then clicked onnChase's icon on his pup pad.

"Chase, I need you to keep things organized as we put the fire out and look for Marshall," Ryder said.

"Chase is on the case!" Chase exclaimed.

"Good. Let's hurry! PAW Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder exclaimed before running to the pole and sliding down it. The pups all ran to the slide, and slid down to their vehicles. Once Ryder drove out of the garage, Snowflake took the lead.

"We were hiking in the forest just off to the side of town near The Lookout. It's this way ..." Snowflake said as she lead them to the forest. As they approached however, the fire had gotten bigger.

*** Meanwhile, after Snowflake left to get help***

Marshall watched as he heard Snowflake run off to get help. He just hoped he wasn't making a big mistake.

The fire roared around him as the dalky knew he would have to find another way of getting to safety! Marshall ran and looked at his surroundings, taking paths he thought would be clear, hoping to find a way back to town.

CRRRRAAACCCK! came a burning branch as it fell from above.

"No!" Marshall exclaimed as he jumped forwards, missing the fallen, burning branch. The dalky kept running and looking for a safe way out. It didn't help that the fire zig-zagged around the trees, seemingly blocking pathways with fire and burning trees!

"This is bad! This is REALLY bad!" Marshall said as he turn to his right. Fire, and fallen branches greeted him, so he turned to his left. More fire and burning trees greeted him, but it looked slightly clearer. Marshall knew it was risky, but he decided to run for it!

"I hope this works..." the dally said as he ran through an opening between two trees. Luckily, he made it, but the flames danced around on his side, burning his fur in the process.

"Ah! No! Ooowww!" Marshall exclaimed as his fur was set on fire; small flames burning him. Marshall stopped before dropping to the ground, and rolling side to side. Once the fire was out, he got back up.

"Oowww!" Marshall said as he felt the pain. It didn't help that the ground was hot too from the flames. Soon, smoke filled the air too, and Marshall coughed.

"Focus! I need to get outta here!" Marshall told himself as he ran and looked around. There was fire everywhere! However, even small openings could be dangerous. Worse case scenario was that Marshall would end up running to the cliffside and jumping into the waters of the bay.

FFFFOOOOOOOSSSHHHH! CCCCRRRREEEEEEEKKK! came the sound of rushing fire and crackling wood. Things had just gotten worse!

"I better find an opening soon!" Marshall said as he ran, minding the flames.

CRACK! a burning branch fell off and landed right on Marshall's back as he ran. He had just barely missed the end of the branch hitting his head!

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!" Marshall screamed as the flames scorched his back and sides as he ran across the lit branch. He stopped to roll on the ground again, but another CRACK got his attention.

"No!" Marshall said before rolling to the side. Another firey branch crashed to the ground where the dally once was. Marshall whined. There was no way he could put a fire this big out! Even if he had his pup pack, it would be like using a hose on a massive fire. Not much could be done.

"Snowflake PLEASE help me!" Marshall cried out before whining. Tears poured from his eyes as he started going into a state of panic. This was a REALLY bad fire! More so than the fire at the cabin. Marshall was burned, tired, scared, and alone! Now he was thinking if sending Snowflake off to get the team was a good idea.

CRACK! another branch set ablaze fell down, interrupting the dally's thoughts. Marshall dived out of the way, missing it. Marshall kept running until he tripped. He got up and went to run, until he noticed more falling branches.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! burning branches came falling around him! Marshall went to run, but the branches quickly surtounded him in a literal ring of fire! Marshall was terrified!

"SOMEBODY HELP ME! PLLLEASE! RYDER! SNOWFLAKE! HELP!" Marshall screamed in terrified desperation. Tears streaming down his face as he was unable to get away from the flames!

CRRRRRRRREEEEEKKK... CRRRAAACCKKK! a tree that had been burnt away from the fire, leaned, and broke apart. The burnt pieces fell off and fell right on top of Marshall!

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Marshall screamed as the burnt chunks of woid and fire fell on top of him, burning him more in the process!

It hurt. It hurt SO bad! Marshall just screamed and cried as he tried to figure out how to escape. In fact, the flames around him were so loud he had a hard time hearing the approaching sirens. Luckily, he did.

"The PAW Patrol! AAAAHHHH!" Marshall exclaimed, before remembering his painful situation. In a desperate attempt, and adrenaline pumping through his body, Marshall threw himself forward!

"AAAAHHH! RYDER! HELP!" Marshall screamed as his body burned, and tore from the burning wood that had damaged his body.

The last thing he saw was water raining from the sky, and a voice call out his name, before Marshall fainted.
