Hi people. Just wanted to tell you that the word count was 251. Compared to everything else (800 average) uhhhhhhhh...FOR A REASON! I am sadly ending this story with this chapter. I have left it with a cliff hanger though, so whoever wants to finish it, be my guest. If you have been keeping up with this, you'll know that I said this would be on hold. I didn't lie! The last time I updated was...*checking date* the 4th of November, and today is the 16th. The truth is...Loss was haunting me. Like seriously. I kept checking the Ascendance Series archive thing and I couldn't not look at this story. So I decided that I would post one last chapter, only because this site doesn't let me make AN chapters. If anyone wants to continue this, be my gues and PM me. If no one wants to do it until May 18, 2021 (random date generator), I will do something, probably TRY to write another chapter.
Sincerely, CM
Also, please review.
When the sun set, I was out the door. Ma Bethy had very reluctantly let me sleep in her house. This was a very hard thing to do.
I spent most of that time staring at the unattractive ceiling, musing over the fact that I WAS BEING WATCHED.
Sorry.
That was very unladylike. Although I suppose that ladies don't run for their lives if only for the fact that the possible loved a king.
Well, there was nothing to do but run. I got out of bed and snuck to the doors. I shall spare you the details of the nearly blind walk to a place that I haven't the idea of its location. When I got out, I heard something that made my heart stop.
Snoring.
There was someone who had been following me, and the thought of it made me feel faint. From the sound of it, the person was a man, however, I had no intention of finding out. It was best I leave immediately.
And I did.
I didn't know where I was going, but earlier today, I had found out that if I went in a specific direction ( I didn't know what direction ), I would eventually reach a place in Carthya.
It was a long walk, but eventually, I made it. The borders were no longer well protected, and I feared most were at war, but I snuck past easily.
If I had known what would greet me, I would never have done so.
