Chapter 9: The Preliminaries Part 2

"Wh- what's going on?!" I said to myself. I did the one thing I shouldn't have… I panicked. What's going on!? Why am I seeing like this? I opened my eyes wide. I was seeing in a whole new way. I could read Kabuto's movements a lot easier, actually, almost down to every single detail. Almost. Things were also moving slowly, not very slowly but slower than before.
I suddenly felt my body fall into a fighting stance. "I'll take it from here." My mouth softly said. "I've been waiting for this moment for as long as I can remember."
Again I ask, what's going on!?
A smile spread across Kabuto's face as he approached me. "This should be interesting." He said it too soft for anyone to hear but, I was able to read his lips.
Kabuto was now charging at me with almost full force. Again, it was like he was holding back, but if he was, why? I quick;y brushed the thought off. He then began to perform some hand signs.
I know those signs! Its, a clone jutsu.
Poof. Sure enough, a clone appeared next to Kabuto running towards me. Suddenly, the clone changed. It turned into a blue silhouette shaped like Kabuto with a ball of chakra in the center.
I've seen this before… Come on, why am forgetting this now!
A smile came on my face. "And you told me to use more advanced jutsu." Came out of my mouth.
Fine, you can take care of this. Like I really have a choice… I then lost all control over my body.
I quickly pulled out a kunai and then… Poof. Smoke engulfed me.
"What the?" Kabuto muttered.
I appeared mid air behind Kabuto.
Fwap! Poof! His clone was no more.
"Huh?" Kabuto said as he turned around to see me.
"Good job Tsebe!" Sakura shouted from the balcony.
"Yeah!"
I landed right behind Kabuto who had just turned to face me. "Ha!" He shouted as he kicked towards my head. I ducked to dodge. His leg flew over my head and then…
Fwap! I spun and swept him off his feet.
My body prepared to kick him up. Avoid his head. I warned. Especially the glasses, try not to remove those. My head nodded as a sign of approval.
Bam! He got a knee in the stomach. He blasted into the air!
I never knew I was this strong!
I tilted my head up and looked up to Kabuto. Wait, I moved my head? Great, now he gives me back control… I readied my self.
Poof. Smoke stood where I did.
I appeared below Kabuto.
"What!?" Lee shouted. "Will every Uchiha steal my jutsu?!"
"Don't worry Lee," I started. "This is no Lotus fraud."
I pushed Kabuto's head up so that he was horizontal.
"This is…" I started. My brainstormed. Name, name name… "The cheetah rush!"
I placed my feet on his back and kicked Kabuto off to the wall. He blasted towards with great speed. Am I really this strong? I thought as I watched Kabuto head towards the wall. Focus!
Poof. I appeared on the wall. I pulled out two kunai.
"Wait!" Kabuto shouted.
"What?"
"Wha?"
"What is it?" Hayate asked.
I caught Kabuto as he was about to hit the wall.
"I'd like to forfeit the match." He said as he teleported down to the floor. "I've had this pain in my neck and back from since the second exam and I can't beat Tsebe with it." He smiled as he finished his sentence.
"OK then." Hayate said to Kabuto. He then walked back to the center of the arena. "The winner is, Tsebe Uchiha."
"YEAH! WAY TO GO TSEBE!" Naruto shouted at the top of his lunges.
"Well done Tsebe." I heard Ino say softly.
I was suddenly exhausted, as if a good bit of my chakra was drained. I dropped off the wall and began falling towards the ground head first.
"Tsebe!" Sakura shouted as she leaped onto the railings.
Suddenly Kakashi appeared behind her. "What'd I miss?" He asked with his hands in his pockets.
"Kakashi sensei," Sakura said.
Naruto jumped off the balcony and ran to where I would land. I was coming down fast, and I was too tired to do my signature jutsu. I closed my eyes and prepared for impact. I was about four feet from Naruto when…
Fwap! Something caught me. I slowly opened my eyes to see… "Temari?" I said. "Why did you catch me?" I was in Temari's arms, she was on her fan.
"Because," She started as she smiled for me. "Jetta didn't want her boyfriend to get hurt."
"He's not my boyfriend!"
"And," She said softly so only the two of us heard, "You're kinda cute." She then quickly winked at me. A blush then rushed to my face as she dropped off in Naruto's arms.
"What was that about?!" Naruto asked. He then realized that my face was red. "Wait, what did she do to you!?"
"Oh nothing." I said with a smile on my face. Clueless as usual eh Naruto?
Kakashi sensei then came down with Sakura to meet me. While walking, the way he looked as he walked. One second he was at normal speed, next second slower.
"Good job on winning Tsebe." Kakashi said as he finally reached me.
Sakura ran up to me and hugged me. "You won!" She then realized my face was still red. "Hmmm..."
"What?"
"Nothing." She replied smiling.
I sunk my head.
"What's wrong Tsebe?" Sakura asked. She then let go of me and stepped back.
"I didn't even get to finish my attack…"
"But you did get your Sharingan." She said trying to comfort me.
Sharingan! OH COME ON! HOW COULD I NOT REALIZE THAT'S HAPPENED! I shouted to myself. "I am such an idiot…" Crept out of my mouth.
"You mean, you didn't know?" Sakura asked.
I sadly shook my head. "I can't even control it. It goes on and off when I blink and other times."
"You'll have to learn soon." Kakashi said. "Cause if you don't you'll run out of chakra."
"I know…"
Some medical ninja came and talked to Kabuto. One of them then walked with Kabuto out of the room. They then walked towards me.
"Tsebe Uchiha, would you like us to tend to your wounds?" One of them asked.
"Sure, why not." I answered. "I did get a little bashed up from the exam."
"You might want to turn off your Sharingan."
I blinked and it went off.
He then turned around and started walking towards the exit and I followed. While we were walking, I managed to overhear something.
"Temari why did you do that?" It sounded like Gaara.
"Well… I…" She started. "Don't know…"
A grunt then followed.
We then walked passed the exit and the last thing I heard from the arena was, "Now for the next match." The medical ninja and I walked up to the third floor and he brought me into an empty room. Well, it was empty; all it had was a bed in the center.
"Please sit down on the bed." He said as he pointed to the bed. "Since your injuries aren't severe I'll treat you here."
"Okie dokie." I said as I walked over to the bed and sat on it.
"Please remove your shirt."
I took it off.
"I can't fully heal you but I'll at least heal those gashes on your chest." I heard him perform some hand signs. "Healing jutsu."
He placed his hands on my back. Suddenly, this warm feeling flowed through my body. It was like have some soup on an extremely cold day. It warmed you from your mouth to your soul. I felt the gashes on my chest start slowly to heal; I felt the skin start to close. I looked at my hands; the marks on them were slowly fading away.
"Try not to move, that prolongs the process. Also, this may take a while so try to get comfortable and relax." He said as he continued the jutsu.
It felt so warm that I started to nod off. I closed my eyes to relax then…
"Zzzz…"
"Hello?"
I felt something shaking me. "You can go now."
I slowly opened my eyes. "Just as the dream was getting good. So doc, I'm all good?" My Sharingan still wasn't under control. One of these days I'll have to learn how to control that, but not today. Or at least not now.
"When I told you to relax I didn't mean that much." The medical ninja started. "Anyway, I've done as good I can do. You'll feel best if you get a good night's sleep."
"Thanks." I said as I got off the bed. I looked at my shirt. It had slashes, dirt, holes, and many other things in it. I think I'll go bareback for now. I walked out of the room and mad my way to the stairs. I hope I didn't sleep through all the matches.
I make way back into the arena, just in time to see the board flash names as it randomized the next match.
Sakura Haruno vs. Ino Yamanaka.
I walked up to the balcony; I passed by Jetta on my way to Kakashi and Naruto.
"Hey you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Hey, wasn't this episode a rip off?" I asked as I passed her. We spoke soft enough for no one else to hear.
"Yup." She answered softly. "No winner. Hey, nice Sharingan. Left eye's got one star and right eye has none."
I grunted and continued to Naruto and the others. Sakura and Ino were already down off the balconies.
"Hey Tsebe," Kakashi said turning his head to me. "You're back."
"Yeah, and just in time to see Sakura's match." Naruto added with a smile.
"So it seems." I replied as I stood next to Kakashi.
"Um Tsebe," Naruto said as he turned to my. He lifted his finger and pointed at me. "Why are you bare back?"
"Did you see my shirt?" I said folding my arms. "I had might as well be bare back, that hole-y and unrighteous shirt."
My Sharingan came on and off. Kakashi seemed to notice. "Shouldn't you keep your Sharingan off?"
"I wish I could." I happily replied.
We then turned our attention to the arena, to Ino and Sakura. Sakura had removed her headband and held it in her hand. Her gaze drifted slightly to the ground and she clenched the headband tightly like she was remembering something.
Flashback… I said realizing that thanks to my unpredictable Sharingan.
She then looked at Ino. "Ino, right now I have no intention of fighting with you over Sasuke."
A few gasps and rambles came from the balconies.
"I don't need to. I've already won."
"Everything's 'Sasuke, Sasuke, Sasuke"!" Naruto growled hearing that.
Ino smiled. "He's not the only on who's got my eye." She turned around at looked in my direction. A blush quickly came and left her face.
"Tsebe she's looking right at you!" Naruto said.
I turned back as if I was looking for something. "No way. Maybe Sasuke's back and he's standing behind me."
"Haha, Tsebe and Ino-." I cut him off.
"So who are you with?"
"…"
"And anyway," We turned our attention back to the floor. "WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE TALKING TO?!" Ino shouted. "DON'T GET AHEAD OF YOURSELF, CRYBABY SAKURA."
Hmm… Must everything be so… loud?
Ino and Sakura stood looking at each other with a dead serious look on their faces.
Naruto walked and held on to the railings. "Why are they all serious like that?" He asked uselessly.
"Why are you and Sasuke how you are?" I asked.
"Because Sasuke's a jerk!" Naruto quickly responded.
"Well Naruto," Kakashi started. "You could say that rivals are strange."
Sakura then took her headband and put it on her forehead. Ino did the same. Sakura then clenched her shoulder for a second.
"Sakura are you ok?" Ino asked.
"Yeah, fine. A bug most likely bit me in the forest." Sakura shook off the pain and removed her hand and stood up straight.
They then took off towards each other.
"I want my money back already." I mumbled under my breath.
Sakura then preformed a hand sign while running towards Ino.
"This isn't the academy graduation exam! You can't beat me with a textbook jutsu like that!" Ino yelled as two clones appeared next to Sakura.
She then did another hand sign. My Sharingan came on. I wish you'd stay off. Then suddenly,
Bam!
"KYAA!"
Sakura took off and punched Ino directly in her face sending her off.
"If you think I'm the same cry-baby Sakura you're wrong. Get serious Ino!"
Ino sat up straight. "I'm glad you said that." She wiped her mouth. "As you wish, here I come."
"Wow wow! Sakura rules!" Naruto shouted.
"Her basic chakra control is perfect for a rookie. Sakura has greatly improved." Kakashi said.
"So she's better than me?"
"Well, yes."
I was impressed too but, something caught my eye. Something was odd to my eyes. The clones, when she ran off to Ino after sending chakra to her feet. Something about them was odd. I thought I saw… nothing. It was nothing.
"Such speed and beauty…" Lee said.
Ino got up and run at Sakura again. She and Sakura then clashed fists, folding each other's right fist. They both reach to their holster and then leaped back throwing shuriken at each other. The shuriken cancelled each other out. They didn't land too far from where they stood. They stepped towards each other, held their fists up and…
BAM! The two punched each other in the face sending each other flying.
"Whoa." Naruto remarked.
"That was… unnecessary." I said.
"Huh?"
"Sakura's smarter than that. She shouldn't be attacking head on like that. It's almost suicide. Ino's stronger than she is and in this rate, it'll be a tie."
"Unfortunately, Tsebe's right." Kakashi sensei added.
"COME ON SAKURA!" I shouted. "DON'T BE A NARUTO! USE YOUR HEAD!"
"Hey!"
"What? You don't use your head in combat. Most of the time."
Sakura looked up at me. She was exhausted, and so was Ino. A smile came on her face.
"THERE'S MO WAY YOU COULD BE EVEN TO ME!" Ino yelled.
"Heh," Sakura laughed. "Of course! How could I be even with someone who worries about growing her hair and looking pretty."
Ino growled at the comment. "You! You better stop disrespecting me!" She pulled out a kunai.
"Idiot… Letting trash talk affect you…" Shikamaru said.
"I don't like this Ino." Choji said.
Ino lowered her head and raised her kunai.
"!"
She brought the kunai to the back of her head and…
Fwapp! One homemade haircut coming up!
"!" Was all that was heard form the balconies.
"Hehe, so simple."
"ORRAAAA!" Ino screamed holding her newly cut hair in front of her. "I don't need this!" She then threw her hair out towards Sakura.
Sakura simply smiled. The smile then disappeared and she held her neck.
Kakashi's eye opened wide. "Oh no. Not Sakura too…"
I turned to Kakashi. "I thought you already knew?"
"I knew about Sasuke's own, not her's." Kakashi said a little worried. "We'll have to see how her match goes. I just hope nothing bad happens…"
Sakura brushed away the pain and lowered her hand but, you could see it in her face. She was in pain.
"I'm going to end this right now!" Ino did a hand sign. "I'll make 'I give up' come out of your mouth!"
"Umm… Hey… No way!" Shikamaru remarked.
"It can't be…" Choji added.
Ino then pointed her hands and did her trademark hand sign.
"I knew it… She's going to the Mind Transfer!"
"Geez…" Ino's sensei said smacking his face. "That idiot…"
"I can understand your desperation but…" Sakura started. "That's useless."
"Bah," Ino replied. "We'll see about that."
"The Mind Transfer Jutsu," Sakura started to explain. I blocked out the rest of the explanation. It's kinda obvious what it does and how it works.
"SO WHAT!" Ino shouted. "WE WON'T KNOW UNTIL WE TRY!"
"If you miss it's over, you do understand that?" Sakura paused. "Right?"
Ino pointed her hands at Sakura. Sakura prepared herself to dodge. She then took off as Ino shouted, "Ninja art! Mind Transfer Jutsu!"
"!?"
"IDIOT! DON'T!" Shikamaru shouted. That was the first time I ever heard Shikamaru talk so loud.
Sakura stopped running and Ino's body dropped to the ground.
"Which one?" I heard Shikamaru say to himself.
Sakura lowered her head. "Hehe, Too bad." She raised her head. "Ino." It missed.
"She missed."
"It didn't work."
"It's over now…" Sakura said triumphantly. "Arg!" She stepped back and held her neck. "Freaking mark…" Sakura said softly to herself.
"Sakura!" Naruto shouted.
She then looked up and looked at Naruto, Kakashi and Me. She then stood up tall. My Sharingan came on again.
"As I said, it's over." She looked up at the balconies. "And I'm not taking any chances."
She then began to jump over Ino's hair. Ino then immediately stood up.
"What!?" Shikamaru shouted.
"She didn't use the jutsu…" I said softly.
Sakura then threw a punch at Ino while still mid-air. Ino grabbed her fist.
"How'd you know about the hair!?" Ino asked.
"I didn't."
Ino then spun Sakura around and threw her towards the hair. Sakura quickly performed some hand signs and…
Poof! Smoke engulfed the two of them. My Sharingan then caught something. Something odd. Right before Sakura did then jutsu, she summoned the chakra but, it wasn't normal chakra. There was some normal chakra but… There was some which was an unusual colour. Purple.
"Ahh!" Then came from the smoke.
The smoke slowly cleared and Sakura stood in Ino's place. Ino however, was on the floor, rolling in her hair. She then sat up. "So, you figured it out huh?" She then stood up. "But you're still not going to beat me."
Sakura then simply smiled. "If you say so." She then took a few steps back from Ino.
Ino then leaped into the hair and punched at Sakura. Sakura blocked and then did a hand sign.
"What's Sakura doing?" Naruto asked.
"Sending chakra to her fist and arm." I answered.
"How do you know?"
"My Sharingan. I can't control it yet so it goes on and off."
"So what will that do?"
"That can amplify her strength depending on how much chakra she sends there." Kakashi explained. "The same way sending chakra to your feet can make you run faster."
Chakra began accumulating in Sakura's arm. So much accumulated that it some even was on the outside. Sakura stepped back. "Ino!" She pulled her fist back. "This match…" More chakra came. Since when did Sakura have so much chakra!? Then, the colour of almost half the chakra changed.
From blue to… Purple.
"Um, Kakashi senseiiiiiiiii!" I said. "Do you see that!?"
"What?"
"Use your sharingan."
He quickly pulled up his headband revealing his sharingan. A bad look came over his face. "This isn't good."
"What's going on!? What what what!" Naruto asked frantically.
"She's using the mark!" Kakashi said.
"But there're no marks on her body!" I replied.
"Is over!" Sakura shouted as she released the punch.
BAM! I felt sorry for Ino just watching that. She almost instantly flew to the wall and smashed it badly. After the punch hit, the chakra then blasted her off as well adding double the trouble, for half the price. So much chakra was summoned that some even lingered on Sakura's fist and Ino's body after the hit.
Hayate quickly walked over to Ino. He checked her pulse and then announced, "And the winner is… Sakura Haruno."
"YEAH WAY TO GO SAKURA!" Naruto shouted.
Kakashi covered his Sharingan eye and sighed. "And it's too late to seal hers too… Oh well, she'll have to live with it."
Sakura was smiling from ear to ear, grinning more than Naruto as she mad her way to the stairs. While walking, her smile suddenly disappeared and she fell to the ground.
"Sakura!" Naruto and Lee shouted at the same time. They then leaped off the balcony and ran to her. Lee held her up.
"Sakura, are you alright?" Lee asked.
She opened her eyes. "I'm alright Lee, just a bit exhausted."
"Here," lee said extending his arm. "Let me carry you to your sensei."
"No no Lee. That's not necessary."
Lee then pushed his hands under Sakura and lifted her off the floor.
"Ah! Lee, stop!"
"It's best you let him carry you." Naruto said, "The way you collapsed like that."
"Ok, Ok. Let's go Lee." Sakura said seeing she couldn't win.
Rock Lee brought her up the balcony and put her down by Kakashi sensei. By this time the medics had already come and took Ino away. I told myself I'd go talk to her when she came back, if she came back during the exam.
"So sensei," Sakura started sitting next to him. "Will you seal my mark like Sasuke's?"
"Sorry Sakura, can't" He replied. "It's too late now. You'll just have to live with it."
Sakura simply sighed and then nodded off resting on the wall.

Sorry if you wanted more or if it seems rushed. I really wanted to finish this chapter before school starts so, here it is! Also typing lines from the show is a drag… Although I use manga when typing so my lines are different to the show but only a little.
