After dinner and taking the trash out to the curb, Butters liked to go on his laptop to relax and start talking to the one whose screen-name was Hart Angel. Butters was growing to like this Hart Angel more and more. She was so thoughtful, she always said the right thing, she was compassionate, smart, witty, and above all, had a surprisingly quirky sense of humor that was pretty uncommon. Definitely the type that Butters got along well with… What started out as a mild infatuation, Butters realized that he wanted to know who this mysterious girl was. She seemed to have moved to South Park recently and Butters decided it was time to make the big move.

Up until now their chats have come off as anonymous, but Butters decided that it was time to reveal themselves to each other. "I really like you, Hart Angel," Butters typed. "It's so easy to talk to you. I haven't felt a strong emotional connection like this in years." After a moment of hesitation, Butters then typed back. "Do you feel the same way?"

Butters eagerly waited for an answer and got one. "Yes, I do. You're one of a kind, Butters. You deserve to be appreciated for all of your good qualities. I can be myself around you."

Butters could feel a ticklish excitement inside his stomach. This was it. This was a keeper and it was time to reel em' in. With his heartbeat increasing, Butters finally typed the big question. "I want to meet you. Oh I know! Let's send each other our profile pictures." With that, Butters used one of best-looking photos from his facebook page and sent it for Hart Angel to see.

Now Butters waited for Hart Angel to comment on his picture. Butters were nervous and were already afraid that he would be rejected for not being good-looking enough. But then… "You're even more handsome than I remembered," came the reply. "But I like your personality more. You'll always look great in my eyes…" Butters was pleased with this. But then Hart Angel typed in something else.

"Would you…ever accept someone like me?" It seemed that Butters wasn't the only one who was feeling a little insecure.

"Of course I would," Butters typed back confidently. "Let me see your photo. I'm sure you're extremely pretty."

Sadly Butters would never get the chance to find out who his mysterious admirer looked like because at that exact moment, all the electricity suddenly shut off. The next thing he knew, Butters was sitting in his dark bedroom with his laptop screen providing the only light. It happened so suddenly that Butters wondered if his dad had blown a fuse in their house. But when Butters went over to his window and peeked out, he saw that other nearby houses was also dark. It looked like one big blackout in the whole neighborhood.

Butters forgot about Harper Angel for the moment as he went over to his drawer to find his handy flashlight when he heard his phone's ringtone go off. Butters saw that it was Eric Cartman. "Hey Eric," Butters answered.

"Butters, is all your lights off too?" Cartman asked. He sounded incredibly annoyed.

"Yes, all the lights are off here too," Butters replied. "What's going on? Did somebody accidentally cause a blackout?"

"Most likely," Cartman grumbled. "Probably Clyde's dad caused it. He always was an incompetent jackass when it comes to trying to fix his damn toaster! Hang on, Kyle is calling me now."

Soon everyone in South Park was wondering why all the lights suddenly were off. While this confusion was ongoing, Officer Barbrady was walking around the neighborhood while brushing off people's complaints. "Yes, Yes, I know people. I'm sure this blackout won't last long. I'm sure they're fixing it as we speak," Officer Barbrady reassured the local neighbors.

Now Officer Barbrady went to the next block to maintain order. "Okay people. Nothing to see out here. I'm sure the lights will be back on any minute now. Sorry for the inconvenience, ma'am. Kindly head back inside, sir," Officer Barbrady shooed away a group of neighbors that had gathered to complain about the blackout.

It was so dark that even the street-lamps were off. Officer Barbrady stopped for a moment to take out his own flashlight in order to see better. But when he clicked on the light, he thought he heard something move from behind him. "Who's there?" Officer Barbrady called out. He realized he was actually afraid. It was suddenly so dark and spooky out here.

It was too dark to tell but Officer Barbrady could see that there was somebody hiding behind a parked car. Someone who was trying to keep out of sight. "Who goes there?" Officer Barbrady called out again. "Identify yourself!" But when Officer Barbrady slowly approached the car and looked behind it, whatever it was, it managed to slip away undetected.

Unfortunately Officer Barbrady had no time to breathe a sigh of relief. A sudden blood-curling scream broke out, followed by the sounds of the frightening sounds of a struggle. Officer Barbrady was already taking out his gun and running toward the horrible noises. It sounded like someone being attacked. Running around the corner, that's when Barbrady saw it. Using his flashlight to see, he saw a strange man in a black cloak standing there. This must be the assailant.

"Hold it right there!" Officer Barbrady shouted a warning while pointing his gun at the attacker. "Turn around, nice and slow. I'm placing you under arrest for…" But Barbrady trailed off when he realized to his horror of what he was actually looking at.

The hooded man was deathly pale but protruding from his wide open mouth was an ugly black tentacle that had wrapped itself around a victim's neck. Barbrady heard a sickening crack as the black tentacle broke its victim's neck and then a toothy mouth appeared and began to suck the blood out hungrily. Barbrady's hands shook so hard that he could almost dropped his gun. And that's when more started to appear… Strange cloaked men lurking in the darkness all possessing disgusting tongue-like black tentacles inside their mouths.

"That's close enough! Stay back!" Officer Barbrady tried to warn them. But they wouldn't stop coming. He had no choice… Officer Barbrady pulled the trigger…

...

Without warning, I woke up and all five of my senses were on high alert. I'm not sure what woke me up and it didn't take long for me to start sensing them. I don't know how I know, but I could feel Nyarlathotep's presence out there. Was he around my house? I laid there in bed for a moment but all was quiet around my house. And yet…something was wrong. I could feel the presence of eldritch activity. I couldn't ignore this feeling. Nyarlathotep was at it again. Once again, I had to protect the town.

I got out of bed and hurried to my messy drawer to get out of Mysterion outfit. I had to hurry. The presence of Nyarlathotep was getting stronger. As I was putting on my mask, I looked into my mirror and saw my sky-blue eyes looking back at me. That's when it happened for the first time… It was only for a second, but I saw the purple aura shining from inside my eyes… Was it my own power trying to tell me something? I didn't have time to speculate. Making sure I brought my handgun with me, I exited my house and disappeared into the night.

Once I left my house behind and started heading toward the main neighborhood, I immediately saw that something terrible was indeed going on. It was pitch-black out here. Every light in South Park had been shut off. Even in the darkness, I could hear screaming and shouts of terror as the citizens of South Park ran screaming through the street. I watched as everyone ran past me and they all seemed to run home to lock the doors, the windows and armed themselves. What the hell was going on now? Now I pulled out my phone and dialed Stan's number at once.

"Kenny!" Stan sounded so relieved to hear my voice. "Thank god. I was just about to call you; did you hear what's been going on?"

"What's happening? I'm outside and everyone is running for the hills," I said urgently.

"Get here on the double," Stan told me. "It'll be safer at my house. I've got the others here with me too. I'll explain as soon as you get here."

After that, I ran straight for the Marsh's residence. As soon as I came running up to the house, the garage was opened half-way and Stan beckoned for me to hurry inside. Once safely inside the garage, I saw that Kyle and Cartman were here as well. There were a few lit candles in the garage and Cartman also held a flashlight to use. We were all dressed in our vigilante outfits. Whatever was going on, we'd have to work together to sort it out. Now that I was here, we gathered to discuss what was happening.

"At around 9:34pm, there was a blackout. All the lights went out in South Park," Stan began. "And not long after, we heard on the local news about some strange tongue-monsters going around killing people and sucking their blood."

Suddenly Cartman and I exchanged uneasy looks when we heard the word "tongue monster." I could tell that Cartman was thinking the exact same thing as me. "This is Nyarlathotep's doing," I said grimly. "It's the Starry Wisdom cultists. They're the ones attacking people out on the street."

"How do you know that?" Kyle asked.

"Because we saw them at the church," Cartman answered for me. "The cultists have these gross tentacles inside their body. We think this is how Nyarlathotep controls the cultists."

"And now he has his followers out terrorizing the town," I said while angrily balling a fist. "Those tentacles probably need to eat. And they're feasting on human blood to sustain them. It's the only possible explanation on why Nyarlathotep would let them loose like this."

But then Kyle raised an interesting question. "Yeah, I see your point. But are they the ones behind the blackout? Why would they do that? Those cultists must've had a good reason for causing a blackout."

There was a sudden bang at the garage door and then a particularly large black tentacle slithered underneath the garage and began to lash at us in attack. I grabbed Stan and pulled him away from the whipping tentacle. Suddenly the tentacle wrapped itself around Cartman's leg and immediately tried pulling him outside. Stan and I quickly hurried to grab Cartman and stop the tentacle from taking him. As we played tug-o-war, that's when Kyle swooped in with a hatchet that he found in the garage and brought it down hard on the black tentacle.

After a few whacks with the hatchet, Kyle did enough damage to force the tentacle to release Cartman and we watched the injured tentacle slither out of sight and was gone. "Thank you, Kahl," Cartman murmured gratefully while wiping the slime from his leg.

"Goddammit nowhere is safe," Stan said while he and Kyle helped Cartman to his feet. "We can't just stand around like this. We need to get out there and stop them all if we can."

"Well then let's stop sitting on our asses," I said, already making up my mind. "Let's get out there and kill them all! What a pain in the ass this Outer God is proving to be!" With that, I led the way as my friends and I moved out to see if we could put a stop to the Starry Wisdom Cultists from hurting innocent people.
