Angel and her group of friends are in class and the other girl, an elf named Farren hand an idea

"Hey, Angel...I was thinking about having a sleepover…You and me"

Angel perked up at this "Ooh...When...I need to ask Daddy?"

"This weekend...Maybe we can do it at my house…"

"Oh okay…" Angel had a little excitement but Somehow inside she felt a little unsure…

"Hey, there's my little princess…" Barley called as Angel got into the van. Angel was a little silent. "Something on your mind…"

"Farren was planning to have a sleepover with me at her house this weekend…"

"Sounds fun...You don't sound excited about it…."

"Well, I've...Never been to a sleepover…"

"Well you've had playdates before and you've had a blast…"

"This is different...I want to go it's just that I'm worried about you…" Barley chuckled a little at what she said.

"Daddy will be fine sweetie...You go ahead and have your fun Angel…" He ruffled her hair making her giggle

Angel had a smile of assurance that everything was going to be okay

The next day Angel told Farren that she was going to the sleepover. The girls had a few plans in mind for the sleepover.

When the time came. Angel was in her now new room packing a few of her things. She and Barley moved into their apartment 2 weeks ago It had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and It wasn't too decorated yet but the place was still a work in progress

"Are you gonna take Mr. Fluffy?" Barley asked, peeking in her door

"Uh-Huh...I thought about bringing Quests of Yore but the board may be too big for the bag…"

"Ah…"

"Farren also wanted to watch a movie...I hope it's not a scary one…"

Barley knelt to his daughter. "Hey...It's going to be okay...If you need anything...I gave you a walkie talkie in your backpack if you need me… Okay…"

Angel smiled at him "Okay Daddy…" Barley picks her up and kissed her head.

"That's my girl...Will you be on your best behavior for Daddy?" Angel nodded her head.

"Now come along dear maiden...Shall we go to your destination"

"We certainly shall Father…"

Barley and Angel had to pick up a few snacks before they went to Farren's house.

They were there a little early since Farren had a few more girls there at the house too.

"Hey, Angel…" Farren called

"Hi, Farren…"

"We're going to the arcade for a bit before the sleepover starts, wanna come…"

Angel looked at her father and he nodded his head. He gave her a few dollars and they all rode in Farren's mom's car. Angel waved goodbye to Barley via the back seat window as she saw Guinevere the 2nd take off.

"Angel…"

"Hmm…"

"These are my friends Liza, Dorthy, and Paloma...Guys this is Angel...She goes to my school...and She's a wizard"

"Nice to meet you guys…" Angel waved slightly

"That's so cool you're a wizard…" Said Paloma the centaur.

"Was that your dad…" asked Dorthy the cyclops.

Angel nodded her head

"Yeah...You guys must be really close…" Farren's mom asked her

"We are close, Ms." Angel couldn't help but smile

When the girls arrived at the arcade, Angel was blown away at how awesome it looked on the inside.

"Okay girls...1 hour...I have to call Pizza Realm and get you guys your pizza and a few snacks and we'll get the sleepover started

Angel was especially excited. When the girls went inside and got their tokens Farren showed her a few of her favorite games that she liked to play and the 5 girls had a wonderful time. Angel started to like pinball machines and Skee ball

"Wow you're really good at this Angel" Liza the elf said, watching Angel play skee ball

"Thank you…"

When they got back into the house...things really got started. They had a pillow fight in Farren's room. Angel had the idea to play music while they were playing

"I'm gonna get you" Liza playfully said to Angel hitting her on the head with the pillow. Angel got a bit of payback by hitting her in the back. The energy within the girls was going insane with the fast pace music and the girls hitting each other with the pillows. The fight ended when Farren hits Paloma on the behind. Paloma gave out a whinny like shriek and broncos at her but Farren luckily ducked.

"Farren…" Paloma whined

"Sorry P...I forgot about that…" Angel giggled

"That sound reminds me of my step grandpa Colt Bronco…" Angel said

"You mean the police Officer…" Paloma asked. Angel nodded her head. "Oh yeah…"

"He says So you are working hard or Hardly working" Angel does an impression of her step-grandfather ending with the horse laugh. This made all of the girls laugh

"Daddy taught me how to do the impression…" Angel claimed

"Hey, Angel...What about your…"

"GIRLS...Pizza's here!" Farren's dad called. The girls then raced downstairs and got their plates of pizza and sat around each other

"Pizza realm's pizza is really good," Liza said.

"Why do you think it's called Pizza Realm" Farren replied. The girls giggled at that statement.

"So what do you guys want to do now?" Paloma asked

"Ooh ooh Let's make a pillow fort…" Angel beamed

"Good Idea Angel…" Farren told her winged friend.

The girls race to Farren's room and they grabbed a bunch of blankets and pillows and they raced to Farren's parent's room and got more sheets and blankets. The five girls raced downstairs to find a bunch of chairs facing away from each other and a few more chairs

"We'd thought we should help you girls make your fort," Farren's mother said with her husband nodding in agreement

"Thank you, Mom and Dad"

"Thank you, Mr. and Ms.," the rest of the girls said.

"Can we play some music while we build it?" Liza asked.

"Sure sweetie, what song…" Farren's father asked

"We built this city…"

"Ooh Angel you're gonna like this song," Farren told Angel.

As soon as the song started, The adults and the girl then begin making the fort. The girls danced along with the tune while throwing the blankets on top of the chairs

The adults then placed a few pillows underneath the fort to make seats for the girls.

As soon as the song finished, they were finished with the fort. The children were astonished at the work they've done

"Awesome work girls…" Farren's mom complimented.

"We couldn't have done it without your help Madam…" Angel replied

"Ooh wait something's missing," Farren said, running up the stairs

"Where are you going?" Dorthy asked

"I'll be back" Farren called.

The girl came back with a sphere-like toy and brought it to the fort

"What is that?" Angel asked

"You'll see…" Farren went inside and she turned on the machine. It came one and it glowed in many different colors and it had a bunch of stars and hearts on it

"Whoa…" the girls exclaimed.

"Wala' Farren said. "Let's go inside. Everyone went inside except for Angel. It was her turn to get something. She brought her teddy bear with her and went inside with the girls

"What's that Angel…" Dorthy asked

"This is Mr. Fluffy…" Angel said snuggling the bear

"Did your mom give you that?" Angel perked up at Dorthy

"Huh," Angel said

"Huh…" Dorthy imitated. "Did your mom give you that"

"No...My dad did" Angel replied timidly

"Where is your mom?" Liza asked. Angel shrank and looked away from the group

"I don't know…" Angel snuggled her bear and buried her face a little bit. Paloma and Farren saw that it was a sensitive topic for Angel

"Well Later do you guys want to watch a movie…" Farren asked changing the subject

"Yeah…" the girls replied

"Can we watch a scary movie…" Liza asked

"Well, It depends on what movies I have that are scary…"

"Ooh...Umm...Farren...Do you know where your bathroom is?" Angel asked. Farren noticed her winged friend's legs switching back and forth.

"It's upstairs to your right…"

"Thank you...Could you watch Mr. Fluffy for me?"

"Sure"

Angel placed Mr. Fluffy in Farren's arms and she raced to the bathroom.

"Why doesn't Angel have a mom?" Dorthy asked

"I don't know...Maybe she and her father got divorced…" Liza implied

"Maybe not" Farren's father peeked in to check on the girls. "All families come in different shapes and sizes. Maybe it's just Angel and her dad...That's why they are super close because they have each other…"

"Wow...I never thought of it like that…" Liza said, now getting it

"I don't blame Angel for getting sensitive...I live with my grandparents" Paloma said

Meanwhile, Angel finished in the bathroom, adjusting her shorts quickly and pulling down her black Quests of Yore shirt. She stepped out and saw a photo of Farren and both of her parents. She took a closer look at the mom in the picture

She always wondered where her mother was and Why sometimes her father never really talks about her. She sighed sadly and walked back down the stairs

"Hey, Angel...We're gonna tell stories and then watch a movie" Paloma informed

"Okay.." Angel's mood started to slowly lift

As time went by, the girls told stories about many things. Angel went first and told a story about how her father and her went on a quest to find buried treasure, Paloma went next and told a story about a western tale that her grandmother told her where the legendary centaur Esme rode out with his posse to find the missing water in the dry city, Liza told a story about a story of a forbidden tale of a human coming across their land, Dorthy told a story about a Manticore, a wizard and a closet. Now it was Farren's turn saving hers as the best for last as she told a story about might video gamers becoming warriors

"And with their trusty controls and digital resources, the might gamers saved the realm from the sorcerer's evil magic" Farren finished. The girls applauded

"That one was the best one…" Angel commented

"What happened to the sorcerer?" asked Liza

"Oh, the gamers banished him to a land far far away to a place with broccoli…" the other girls cringed and said Eww but Angel giggled.

Then, the girls see a pair of hands and they reach out into the fort. The girls screamed

"It's the sorcerer" Angel yelled.

"He's here to cast a spell on us...RUN!" Paloma shouted. The other girls retreated but Farren was having a difficult time and the hands picked her up.

The hands turned out to be her father scooping her up and giving her kisses

"Ooh, I'm doomed to his spell…" Farren placed a hand on her forehead. Angel and the other girls giggled.

"Aah, I see you girls were telling a story…" Farren's father asked

"Yeah...Farren's was the best though…" Dorthy said.

"You girls ready for the movie…"

"Yeah…"

Angel looked outside and saw that the sun had already set

"Hey, guys...Look," Angel ran to the window to look at the sky. It's sunset red and purple color mixing together in the sky piqued the winged elf's interest as well as the other girls and the parents

"Wow...The sky does look pretty" Liza commented

"Sunset is the best time because you get to see the pretty colors of the sky…" Farren's mother told the girls

"Why does the sky have so many colors?" Paloma asked

"I don't know...Some say It's like a picture of certain colors it may please…" Farren's father recalled

"Wow…"

"Now who's ready for a scary movie...we have the snacks ready…"

"We are…" the girls shouted

The girls gather around the couch with their sleeping bags and their stuffed toys as the snacks arrive in front of them.

"All right, How about the movie, NIghtmare on Realm Street…" Farren's father asked

"Ooh" the girls glanced at each other and they all nod their heads

"Heh, Good choice...It's a good thing I DVR it."

"Now are you sure about this?" Farren's mother asked her husband

"Farren's a brave girl and her brave companions...I think they can handle it…"

"Yeah, We can handle it, Mom…" Farren confirmed

"Okay...But don't be alarmed when one of your friends gets scared…"

"Then we'll turn off the movie and watch something else"

"Okay...Have fun…"

When the intro music began, Angel clamped onto her teddy bear for most of the movie while the other girls were slightly invested.

"It's not so bad so far…" Paloma said.

When the jump scares came in Angel got scared along with Dorthy and Liza. Farren was so infested with the movie, She forgot to turn off the movie.

When the screams and the deaths came in...Angel went into her sleeping bag and clamped onto her teddy a little harder

"It's just a movie...It's just a movie…" Angel whispered to herself. Then a scream came from the T.V

"Oooh...Right in the eyes" Farren exclaimed.

When the movie was over...All of the girls were asleep. Farren's mom turned off the tv and allowed the girls to sleep.

Later on that night, Angel tossed and turned in her sleeping bag. She whimpered a little and then she jumped up awakened from her sleep. She looked around and saw that the other girls were still sleeping and everything was quiet.

She stealthily snuck into her backpack without waking any of the girls and tried to dig for her walkie talkie that her father told her about. She finally found it and snuck back into her sleeping bag.

"Daddy...Daddy…" Angel whispered. Nothing yet. She turned down the volume so only she can hear. "Daddy...Daddy…" then something came in

"Angel…" Barley whispered through the walkie talkie.

"Daddy…"

"Hey princess...How's the sleepover?" Barley asked

"Good...Well... I had a nightmare…"

"Scary movie…"

"Mmm-hmm"

"Want me to sing you a lullaby?"

Angel smiled. Her father always knew what she wanted. She looked around to see everyone still asleep. She said yes to the lullaby

"Okay...Hold onto your teddy bear and tuck yourself in the sleeping bag." Angel did exactly as she was told. Barley gave a silent sigh and quietly began to sing

"Oh, my itty bitty girl...I think you are so sweet...I give you bowls of cereal, I give you bowls of ice cream" Angel giggled a little. She gave a silent yawn. "I give you lots of kisses...I give you lots of hugs, but I'd never give you sandwiches with greasy worms and small beans…" Barley heard her lightly snoring signifying her being asleep

"Good night my little wizard...I love you so much…" Angel heard the walkie talkie going off. She slowly turned hers off too. The lullaby banishing the nightmarish person haunting her dreams like in the movie she watched

By the time morning arrived, Barley went to pick her up. The girl was still asleep. Barley grabbed her things and placed them in the van. He picked up his daughter and she slightly woke up to the sight of him and she smiled and went back to sleep. He placed her on the beanbag in the van and he took her straight home to bed.
