Family dinners and brainstorming to save Fred started taking place at Hermione's flat. It was surprisingly not crowded with everyone scattered throughout the kitchen and common area, but even if it was no one would care. Fred was slowly getting worse and Hermione was worried he only had a few days left so everyone was working extra hard to figure something out.

Percy and Bill were assigned to the box to see if they could fix it. Molly and Fleur were the best at healing spells and charms so they took turns watching Fred. Charlie had used the potion to put him in a coma, but the dark magic was still too much for his body. He was slowly Fading away and it took everything the two witches had to keep him mostly stable. Arthur, Sirius, and Kingsley worked around the clock to find the remaining death eaters, in hopes that they would know something. Everyone else researched whatever they could to try and help.

"I think we need to start thinking about pulling the magic out of him and putting it into someone else," Hermione suggested.

Everyone gawked at her but she shook her head at them. "Fred isn't going to last much longer. We have the spell to draw the magic out, if we draw it out and then immediately disapparated Fred away, the magic will go into someone else. We immediately put them into a coma and keep working on how to keep it locked away."

"It buys us time," George said.

Hermione nodded. "If we don't do this, we will lose Fred. If we do it, we don't lose anyone."

"You don't know that we could lose someone else," Ginny added.

There was a small period of silence before George spoke again. "I'll do it. I'll take the magic."

Arguments started breaking out as everyone bickered about who would and would not take it. Fed up, Hermione yelled, "Just stop, this isn't helping! Ok, I will take it. I'll take the magic!"

"Absolutely fucking not." Draco snapped. "You're muggle-born. The magic will take you over quicker than it will someone pure blood. I'll do it."

"Draco..." Narcissa started.

He put up his hand. "My father started this. I will help finish it."

Hermione bit her lip to stop herself from arguing with him and nodded. "Ok so everyone else needs to go. Draco you'll call the magic out, I'll disapparate with Fred, and Harry can hit you with the potion to put you in a coma."

Narcissa looked desperate to change his mind, but she held back. She hugged her son tightly and slipped away into the floo. Everyone else followed shortly until it was just Hermione, Fred, Draco, and Harry.

"I promise you, we will get it out of you," Hermione said to her friend.

"I know you will."

She tousled his blonde hair and went to grab Fred. "Whenever you're ready."

Draco nodded and looked to Harry who nodded back at him. He started the incantations to pull the darkness out of Fred. Hermione watched at Fred's body convulsed and a black could started rising up from him. Draco kept yelling as the cloud grew bigger. Finally, Fred's body relaxed, the magic was out. Without hesitation, Hermione grabbed his hands and disappeared.

The cloud of all the evils from pandora's box circled around the flat. Now that it was out, Draco didn't know what to do. It wasn't going into him. He kept saying the incantation hoping it would pull it towards him but nothing happened.

"What do we do?" Yelled Harry.

Draco looked at him helplessly. "I don't know mate! I thought it would just go to the closest body."

Meanwhile, at the Burrow, everyone was anxious to wake Fred up. Hermione stayed glued to him as Fleur and Molly cast different healing spells on him and checked his vitals and such.

"Are we all ready?" Molly asked.

"Yes, Merlin, please!" Hermione practically shouted.

Molly chuckled at the young girl and with a splash of a new potion, Fred was slowly waking. His blue eyes searched through the crowd of people until they landed in a pair of gleaming brown eyes and he smiled. "Mione..."

"Don't talk, just rest," Hermione said, wiping away the moisture from her eyes.

"Bloody Hell...he gets a girlfriend and it's like I don't exist anymore." George joked.

Fred chuckled and shook his head. "You prat, I was saving you for last."

"Ahhh yes! Save the best for last." George added.

"Not anymore, you ruined it."

"Ok. boy enough. Fred, you need to rest!" Molly ordered.

She softened as she wrapped in a bear hug, then left to prepare lunch for everyone.

Arthur, Narcissa, and Sirius all gave him hugs and warm words before they left to join Molly, leaving the rest of the Weasleys and Hermione with Fred.

"Someone tells me what happened," Fred muttered.

Hermione and George exchanged looks, not sure what to tell him. Of course, they wanted him to know what he went through but didn't want to cause any unnecessary hurt.

"Malfoy released Pandora's box on you," Ron said.

Hermione sighed and shook her head, so much for trying to be gentle.

"What?!" Fred choked out.

Before anyone could say anything else, Harry and Draco came tumbling through the floo.

"Uhm, we have a slight predicament," Draco said.

"Slight may be putting it lightly," Harry added.

They shared a look and Draco cringed as he told them what happened. "So, once you took Fred, the magic was in a cloud circling at the top of the room. I tried to pull it in but it wouldn't budge."

"So," Harry interrupted. "We tried to put it into me, but again, he couldn't make it come to me."

"And now it's gone." They finished.

Everyone's jaw was on the floor, looking around hoping someone else would speak up.

"Well, that's not quite what we were hoping for," George said.

"Let me get Arthur and Sirius," Hermione grumbled.

"So you're telling me that the magic from Pandora's box is out in the world somewhere and we don't know where," Kingsley asked.

The group nodded and looked grimly around at each other.

"At least it's not in any of us," Ron said.

"If it was in one of us we could take care of it, but now we have no idea where it is so even when we figure out how to lock it away, we don't know if we'll be able to." Hermione countered.

Sirius nodded in agreement with her and ran his hands through his hair. "It's not a good situation, but there's not too much we can do right now. I think we should just take the rest of the day off and relax, let Fred recuperate, and brainstorm. Then tomorrow, we'll regroup and look at what our options are."

"Is it really a good idea to let it go? I mean who knows what could happen overnight?" Hermione argued.

"We've been trying to figure it out for weeks, do you really think we're going to figure it out tonight?" Blaise added.

Ginny rolled her eyes. "So we just let it go?"

"No," Harry said. "But as of right now, we are all safe and together so we should just rest and take a break. We'll go at it with fresh eyes in the morning and that might help."

Everyone agreed and they sat down for a quiet dinner. There was a relaxed peace in the air with Fred back, but also a subtle sense of fear. The evil inside of Pandora's box could be anywhere and it was up to them to figure out how to fix that.

"Why won't you tell me more about what happened?" Fred pressed. "I have a right to know what happened to me."

Hermione looked at George with pleading eyes hoping he didn't tell Fred everything. She of course wanted him to know what he went through but she didn't want him to have that burden.

"We really don't know mate. Malfoy said a spell and the magic went in you and then you were gone. Charlie found you all the way in Romania after one of his mates saw you." He said.

"You did push me after you were cursed...but I think I'll forgive you." Hermione toyed.

Fred nodded and laughed softly. "I just wish I could remember. I have this awful feeling like I should be guilty about something."

Hermione quickly shook her head. "Even if you did something, it wouldn't be your fault. You were cursed."

"Merlin and I can't believe Remus is gone. I thought we were done losing people."He said.

"I know, me toe." She added.

George shrugged and played with a string on his jumper. "He wouldn't want us to be sad though. He's with Tonks again, and Teddy is great hands."

"Yes, he is," Hermione said with a smile. "Oh, Harry just loves him. He's the perfect godfather. And I hear that Luna is so great with him as well."

"Maybe everyone will get their happy ending." Fred cut in.

George playfully gagged as his twin leaned over to kiss Hermione. She kissed him back but rolled her eyes as he tormented George with more PDA and George continued to gag and cough.

"What am I going to do with you two for the rest of my life!" She shook her head and the three of them all laughed together, happy to finally be with each other again.
