Izuku's POV

The apartment they arrived at was in a nice part of town. Both the hospital and the precinct weren't far. For the detective, it would make it easy for him to get to and from work. Izuku though had to wonder how far it would be to see those he considered family.

Two-part of Izuku were conflicted with seeing his family. He didnt want to be a burden to Tsukauchi. The detective had been kind to him so far. Buying brand new clothes for him and even hero merchandise. Still, he didnt want to push his luck with how far that kindness went.

If that meant he had to walk to Jeanist or Ingenium's agencies he would. No matter if the Lost Children were disbanded or not they were family. He would make sure each of them were comfortable in their new lives.

Tsukauchi tried to help him with his bags of clothes but a glare had the man holding up his hands in surrender. Izuku was fiercely independent since he had been abandoned. Adults only brought pain and sorrow. He was sure that Tsukauchi would be no different after awhile. Even if he was nice at first.

Aiden rode on his shoulder. Sharp eyes were peeled for any danger to the bird or its human. Izuku loved his partner as much as he did the kids he unofficially adopted. Aiden was part of the family and he could almost swear he had a quirk. They just never had a way to test it to be sure. He was curious if UA would allow Aiden to attend as his partner. He hoped so, otherwise, he would raise hell.

Izuku raised his free hand to gently rub at his partner's feathers. Aiden let out a soft sound before rubbing his head into his hand. A soft smile crossed the teenager's face as they approached Tsukauchi's door.

Almost his entire attention was focused on Aiden at this moment. So he didnt notice when the door opened on its own. What he did notice was the way the detective stiffened from the corner of his eye.

Before he could react to a possible threat Aiden had taken off from his shoulder. The silver winged falcon attacked what appeared to be a blond skeleton. Izuku went to lunge forward to cover his partner when a hand grabbed his shoulder.

Thinking it was another attacker he lashed out. His kick was followed by a grunt and he faced a dazed detective who was now on the ground. Confused he turned his head to the side in question.

Tsukauchi groaned, "Ow I guess I deserved that. Stop your bird from attacking him I know this man."

Izuku let out a sharp whistle to Aiden who scratching at the skeleton man's face. The bird turned to look at him before giving another scratch and returning to him. He listened to Aiden's chattering.

Tsukauchi stood up as he said, "Thank you, Izuku. Yagi, what are you doing here?"

The skeleton man, Yagi replied as he slowly stood, "I was in town due to that," here he paused to glance at Izuku, "thing. Since we haven't met up in a while I thought I'd come over and wait for you like usual."

Blue eyes clashed against green as the two stared down each other. Izuku wouldn't let up. He didnt trust someone who would arrive so unexpectedly. What if he was a villain?

Tsukauchi sighed as he glanced around them, "Let's take this inside. I had hoped to warn you off before this but there wasnt a chance to yet."

A warm hand found its place on his shoulder. This time Izuku didnt attack the man. Instead, he accepted the firm direction and allowed himself to be directed inside. Once they removed their shoes Izuku was led into a living room that had a kitchen overlooking it.

Just inside the doorway was stairs leading to an upper level. Izuku's curiosity was peaked but he wouldn't indulge it until the new man left. He trusted this new person less than he trusted Tsukauchi. Admittedly his trust in the detective wasnt much.

Keeping a tight hold on the bags he moved towards the living room as directed. Tsukauchi gently pushed him into the couch before moving to sit on the other side. Giving him plenty of room so as not to be crowded. Yagi took the only chair watching their interaction with suspicious blue eyes.

Tsukauchi began with a sidelong glance towards Izuku, "First off introductions are in order. Yagi, he needs to know what to expect given that in a little more than a year's time he will be attending UA. As will you but as a teacher. As such you will also need to know about him give how often you visit. I would rather this not happen every time you visit."

Izuku turned his head to the side in question. That wasn't what he was expecting. Sharing his secrets it was to be expected he was a thief and a vigilante. To give another's secret was something else altogether.

Tsukauchi continued when neither of them protested, "Izuku this is Yagi Toshinori, one of my best and oldest friends. You probably know him by his hero name, however."

Tsukauchi didnt get the chance to finish. A feeling of danger rushed over the boy as the skeletal man suddenly buffed up into a very familiar muscular man.

All Might?! Aiden had attacked the Number 1 Hero?! Honestly, he shouldn't have been surprised. The falcon didnt have the same regard for heroes as its human did.

Then suddenly the man coughed painfully blood splattering his hands and he was back to the skeleton form. Intrigue filled the young teenager. Things were starting to make sense to him.

No one had ever seen All Might in his civilian form. They didnt know his true name either. There were hundreds of theories about his quirk and how he was able to hide. Each one had just been thrown out the window.

With the way, All Might became a skeleton just now he would have thought it was a transformation quirk. It didnt add up the other things he had been shown to have, however. No there was something more at play here.

Izuku's eyes trailed to the spot where All Might grabbed when he coughed up blood. That spot protected a lung and possibly his stomach as well. Maybe an old injury? But when?

His mind trailed back through the years examining the information he had. As a thief and vigilante without a steady home, he didnt get much news. What he did get though aligned with something happening four years ago. The Symbol of Peace had gone missing from the public eye for nearly a month. With such a serious injury that would make sense.

Rumors also had it that All Might was being seen less and less in the public eye. Almost as if he was on a timer. That was it! All Might's quirk must have multiple facets or even it might be multiple quirks. The possibilities were endless but he did know one thing for certain.

All Might would have to retire soon. As such he would need someone to take up the mantel. Endeavor was good for a lot of things but he was no leader. Heroes would fight alongside him but no one would follow him into battle. His mind just wasnt made for that kind of thing.

Speaking of Endeavour, Izuku would need to pay the hero a visit. When he fell into the river, Izuku had been unconscious and the hero saved him. Whether it was his job or nor Izuku owed Endeavour a debt. One he intended to repay as soon as possible. It would be a matter of sneaking away from the detective, however. Not something he should do at least for a while.

Izuku knew that the detective would tell the hero who he was and who he had been. There was no way to get around the fact that Tsukauchi only took him because he was a thief. Stealing wasnt something he was proud of but he had to do it to ensure his friends' survival.

Everything he stole had a purpose and was essential. Nothing went to waste for them because they couldn't afford it. Just the fact that he was a thief meant everyone would judge him from now on. If things went missing they would look at him first to ensure he hadn't reverted back to old habits.

"Yagi this is Izuku Midoriya," said Tsukauchi pulling Izuku from his contemplation, "You may know him better though as the King of Thieves and leader of the Lost Children."

The man's face showed his shock and disbelief. Izuku for his part leaned back into the couch. No one expected the King of Thieves to be in his early teens. It was part of the image he created.

The image protected them from those who wished to do the Lost Children harm. Or in this case, fool heroes into looking in the wrong direction. None of them were very old and it made for a good escape for them.

Izuku didnt really know who to be anymore. He couldn't be the King of Thieves now. Speaking of he wanted his pin back. It was the only thing he had left of his father. A reminder of who he was and what he had done.

Now was not the time to ask of it. First, he needed to know how the Number 1 Hero would react to the news. He met the blue eyes evenly not flinching under the considering look he was being given.

It took a moment but All Might extend his hand, "It's nice to meet you, young Midoriya. I heard about the successful capture of the Lost Children but I hadn't realized that the group was so young."

Izuku warily shook the hand as he replied, "It would have gone on for longer if I had not been injured. I owe my life to Endeavour for pulling me out of the river during the last confrontation. My second in command and best friend decided to surrender. I was unconscious and there were too many of us who were sick. If it continued as it was someone could have died. None of us leaders could have lived with that."

Every word he spoke was the truth. He could not have lived with himself if one of the kids had died. As the King of Thieves, he was supposed to protect and care for them. Something he had failed spectacularly in. It had been up to Katsuki to save him and the kids. He went so far as to arrange a suitable agreement with the police and heroes. Otherwise, the two of them would likely be facing jail time.

Tsukauchi said as the two fell into silence, "Midoriya you can go upstairs and put away your stuff. Your room is the second on the left. My room is at the very end of the hallway. The bathroom is between your room and mine."

Izuku nodded slightly before standing from the couch and heading towards the stairs. He would talk to Tsukauchi later about the pin.

Tsukauchi's POV

Tsukauchi watched the child's retreating back. That kid was going to be interesting to have around. Naomasa was sure that he would be having to usher the boy back and forth between his apartment, Jeanist's house, and Ingenium's agency. It didnt seem the kid's style to stay away from his friends.

Shaking his head he turned his attention back to Yagi. He knew for a fact that his friend was not here for a simple visit. They had just talked not a week ago. Yagi had been certain he would still be in France helping on the hunt for Thief Lord.

Thief Lord was one of the biggest names in the underground. If you hadn't heard of him then you were a nobody. Even civilians knew his name and what he stood for. A phantom thief who moved like he was made of shadows. Few heroes had ever seen him. It was as if he was the polar opposite of Kaito Kid.

Phantom Thieves flocked to him and not out of fear. Instead out of respect for the man. All Might was one of the few heroes who had ever seen him. Even if it was at a distance. The only description they had was that the thief was a tall slender male with dark hair. No eye color was known.

Naomasa questioned bluntly, "Now what are you really doing here, Yagi?"

All Might said causing a shiver to go down his spine, "It's about Thief Lord. Intel says hes returning to Japan immediately."

Naomasa felt the blood drain from his face, "Do we know why?"

"He has a son."
