Author's note: INCLUDES reference to a scene from Assassination classroom. I believe it's from episode 3 season one, forgive me if I'm wrong.
Karma's POV: When Karma and Nagisa entered the classroom, Karma sat in his seat and looked outside of the window, wondering how it would feel like to jump out into the clouds.
Nagisa had settled with sitting next to Rio and they were whispering a little a looking occasionally at him as if they thought he couldn't see them.
Karma hoped they weren't talking about him but he knew they probably were.
"Alright, everyone quiet down!" Koro-sensei called out.
The class kept on talking since kids didn't listen and like being loud and then Koro-sensei called out, "I guess you don't want to hear my GOOD NEWS!" and then everyone quieted down. Even Karma looked up from his daydreaming.
"Since everyone is FINALLY present and there are no TARDY kids or ABSENT kids for the first day in this whole year-" everyone looked at Karma, the only one who stopped them from achieving the goal.
"-I decided everyone deserved a reward!"
The class already was cheering.
"Everyone SHUT UP," Rio shouted, "we don't even know what the reward is, what if it's 'you have be silent for the rest of the day?'"
The class became quiet for a second, considering it.
"Excellent, now that I can continue-"
the room erupted with students guessing what the reward was.
"No school today?" One student asked.
"No homework for the rest of the year?" Another student asked.
"We don't have to be here for the rest of the year?" Karma asked.
"That'd be so fun, then we could-"
"EVERYONESHUTUP,STOPGUESSING,ANDHEARWHATTHEREALREWARDIS!" Rio shouted.
A majority of the class rolled their eyes.
"Stop being so loud, Rio," someone said.
Rio facepalmed and sat back in her desk.
"I'm being loud. Only me," she mumbled.
Still, the class was silent, at least quiet enough for Koro-sensei to continue.
"Your reward is that I will let you try to assassinate me for first period!"
The class cheered and then started talking to each other about what they were planning to do to assassinate Koro-sensei.
Karma's plan was going even better than he expected it. His plan would assassinate someone. Everyone was outside, practicing their fighting skills and failing when they occasionally tried to assassinate koro-sensei.
Karma sat on a tree pointed off the mountain, it's roots the only thing keeping it from falling. Nagisa walked up near the tree.
"Karma, if your plan to assassinate Koro-sensei is dangerous then please don't do it," Nagisa pleaded, hoping that Karma's plan wasn't reckless.
"We can all do it together, as a class."
Karma kept on smiling, his face turned away from Nagisa's and looking out at the landscape.
"I want to do it on my own, Nagisa. You don't understand. Can I ask you a question?"
"Sure Karma but-"
"would it tick you off to die in a random place?"
"Karma why-"
"oh Karma!" A jolly voice called. It was Koro-sensei.
"I feel that I have taken exceptionally good care of you and I feel like you have turned on a new leaf, not skipping classes today is a good sign that you are actually growing from your punishments."
Karma's hands turned into fists. Punishments. That's all he ever felt like he got. Still, he turned to Koro-sensei smiling.
"Just so we're on the same page, you consider yourself a teacher above all else, right?"
"That's right," Koro-Sensei said, smiling his signature smile.
"That's cool," Karma said smoothly though his heart was racing and beating like a drum.
If this works.
"And you wouldn't think twice about putting your own life on the line to save a student, right?"
"What sort of teacher would I be if I did?"
"That's awesome, good to know" Karma replied, "so I can kill you."
Without another word, he pulled out a gun as if he was fire at Koro-sensei but instead he just held it pointed at Koro-sensei and began to fall back-first off the mountain.
"I knew there had to be a way," he whispered.
Nagisa made a noise of surprise and raced forward.
"Karma!"
Karma still had a smile on his face. It's so peaceful, just like I imagined it'd be, he thought. It's a win-win situation, if he saves me, he gets a bullet to the tentacle, if he doesn't save me, he'll be known as the teacher who let's one of his kids die and... I can finally rest in peace.
Karma was tempted to close his eyes but he forced them to stay open. Wow. I feel like I can see my whole life flashing before my eyes. He smiled wider.
He remembered beating up that kid, I think he's learned his lesson.
He remembered comforting a class 3-E student. 3-E, The one out in the sticks? That sucks. Still, don't let anyone give you heck over it. What? I'm not the bad guy here, all I did was put a bully in his place. The little jerk had it coming. It's karma.
He remembered fighting with that stupid teacher. 'Anyway you slice it, you're clearly in the wrong.'
He remembered the teacher's angry face and that thinks-he-knows-it-all kid Ayame with glasses and bandages all over. Boy, it had felt so good to punch him.
'Are you out of you mind or just stupid?! What possessed you to think that attacking your class's star like a mad dog was something I'd let slide?!'
But, sir he was-
'what talking badly about the dregs? Good for you injuring someone on principle. This young man happens to have a FUTURE if this interferes with his exams, it's on my head.'
He said he'd stand by me, so much for believing in teacher's trash.
Dang, I'm actually going to die.
'I've been willing to turn a blind eye on account of your grades,'
Karma's old teacher's skin was chipping off, until half of him was human and half of him was skeleton.
'But you've tried my patience once too often.'
A voice was merging with his teacher's, a voice darker and deeper. Was it death?
'Throw a monkey wrench in my career and all bets are off.'
He was blurring. More of him was becoming a skeleton. Bit by bit of his skin was cracking to reveal bone.
'I'm not saving you anymore. This is it, this is how it's going to go down.'
Now he was only a skull, eyes hollow nothingness.
'Good news is that I've filed your paperwork for your transfer just this afternoon.'
The skull was shaking.
'Best thing for all the involved, really. Bad news is you will be commencing third year in E CLASS.'
The skull disappeared and then there was the sweet sound of Karma's teacher screaming.
He screwed me over. So that's it. Now he's dead to me. What are you waiting for, Koro-sensei? Which death do you choose?
Karma felt himself suddenly land in a web-like thing.
"Well done, Karma. A splendidly prepared assasination attempt! Full marks, neat, huh?"
Karma was in a Koro-sensei created web.
"I knew your body couldn't take being plucked out of free fall at the speed of sound and if I moved any slower, you would have shot me,"
Koro-sensei was smiling a smug smile, "what a tangled and sticky web we weave, eh?"
"What the heck, is there anything that these tentacles aren't capable of?" Karma asked, trying to unstick himself unsuccessfully.
"Can't shoot me now, can you? hahhaha" Koro-sensei said, gleefully, "Oh, and for future reference, students do not die on my watch. Ever."
Koro-sensei locked eyes with Karma.
"Take that to heart the next time you jump."
Karma closed his eyes. It's no use, he won't die and he can't be killed, the teacher in him especially.
"I don't get how you could be so calm the whole time," Nagisa said, looking over the edge where Karma had fallen.
Karma shrugged, "it was no big deal, what really sucks is that was my best bet at killing him."
Nagisa grabbed Karma's arm, "Karma... It was a big deal, what if you..."
"died?" Karma sighed, "for some reason I don't feel like I care."
He felt a tentacle wrap around him and lift him, making him look at Koro-sensei.
"It is a big deal, Karma, you need to value yourself more than that," Koro-sensei lectured, his concerned teacher self coming out.
Karma shrugged again, "it would've been a win-win. You could've died and I could've... escaped from this place."
"Karma!" Nagisa said, concern clearly flashing in his eyes.
Karma laughed, "I'm kidding!"
But then he looked below, at the trees he could've fallen with something that looked a lot like wistfulness.
This isn't good Koro-sensei thought, grimly. Karma has just given up on his life.
