The next chapter is now posted! Just when you thought things were finally starting to settle down. More trouble is on the horizon. WARNING: This chapter contains Violent Fighting Sequences. Enjoy :)
Rain was roused from her slumber by a slightly panicked Bulma. She looked around to see what was wrong. The boys were looking up into the sky with frowns on their faces. The young woman followed their line of sight and her face paled. In the sky was a very familiar space ship. It hovered above, in the clouds. Goku and Vegeta were up there. It's as if they were waiting for someone to come out.
To her horror someone did. And it was the very last person she wanted to see, Frieza. He exited the ship from the top and levitated over to the two saiyans that dropped to defensive stances. Frieza smirked and looked over his shoulder to his ship behind him. He gave a brief nod of his head and the ship took off, heading back out to space. Probably to linger in the atmosphere to await their Lord's Return.
Rain's not stupid, she knew a challenge when she saw one. And it was clear, Frieza had intentions of challenging his two greatest foes. Which she thought was rather foolish. Considering each time he challenged the saiyans more specifically Goku, he'd end up losing. Unless, the evil emperor had something up his sleeve. His blood red eyes left the saiyans to scan the surroundings.
He smirked when he caught sight of his latest conquest down below. Though she didn't look nearly as happy to see him as he did her. She was standing besides Vegeta's mouthy Wife. The half saiyan kids were there too. He was broken out of his reverie when Goku began to speak.
"Frieza, why are you here this time?" Goku asked, none too pleased to see the petite arcosian.
He smirks, "What does it look like, monkey? I came here for a long awaited rematch. My training these last couple months, has further pushed my power yet again to a whole new level. What better way to demonstrate it by killing you two simians once and for all."
"Oh really? Isn't that what you said last time? Before you ended up being paraded around by fairies and teddy bears?" Vegeta asked with laughter in his voice.
A vein pulsed on the side of Frieza's temple.
"Would you care to say hello to them for me, saiyan?" He gritted out.
"What for? Your going to see them again very soon." Vegeta said, as he dropped down into his fighting stance.
Goku narrowed his eyes. "You really don't know when to quit do you, Frieza? Is this fight worth losing your life all over again? If this keeps up, eventually you will never come back again. You will stay dead and that will be the end of it."
"The only ones who will be dying here today are you and Vegeta. And I'll be sure to make it as slow and painful as possible." Frieza informed them.
Goku clenched his fists. "Last warning, Frieza. Leave now and don't come back."
The evil emperor just chuckled. Then he tensed up and screamed. A familiar bright golden light started to radiate from him. Both saiyans had to cover their eyes from the harsh light. There was a couple small shock waves that pulsed from the arcosian warrior. Causing them to get pushed back by the force. After a few moments, the brightness dissipated. Goku and Vegeta uncovered their eyes and gasped.
Frieza was in his golden form. But there was a slight difference to it. It kind of reminded Goku when he went to Kaioken Level in his Super Saiyan Blue Form during the fight with Jiren at the tournament. Frieza certainly felt stronger then when he last visited earth and they had that fight with Broly. Something told Goku, they will really have to give it their all this time if they want to defeat him.
"Kakarot, you stay out of this. I want to fight him first this time." Vegeta said, as he began to power up.
Goku opened his mouth to say something, when he was cut off by Frieza's laughter.
"Perhaps I prefer to fight you both at the same time. So by all means. Give it your all, monkeys." He said in pure confidence.
"Your certainly very confident in this new power. But fine, if that's what you want." Goku said.
Then with a shout, both he and Vegeta went straight to their Super Saiyan Blue Forms. Not a few moments later, the three warriors charged each other. There was an earth shattering explosion of light and more shockwaves. When it all cleared, the three fighters were engaged in combat. Exchanging blows that were too fast for the human eye to see.
Rain watched as everything unfolded above between the three incredible warriors. Bulma at this point was unsure whether it was safer to stay here, where her husband and Goku were. Or take the kids and Rain and just leave the premises. She ended up going for the latter. Bulma didn't want her infant daughter to be this close to the dangers taking place above.
"Come on Rain, boys let's head to the cruiser and leave. It's not safe for us to remain here." She said, while picking up the carrier that held Bulla. Who was now wide awake and looking around.
"Oh come on, Mom. We want to stay and watch the cool fight going on up there." Trunks whined.
"No! End of discussion! We're going now boys!" Bulma all but shouted at them.
Both youths huffed in disappointment and followed the older woman back to the cruiser. Bulma quickly got the kids situated and strapped in. When she could see they were ready, she turned to Rain. Bulma's eyes widened when she didn't see the younger woman right behind her. She frantically looked around. And spotted Rain still out there. She hasn't left the promenade.
"Rain! What are you doing!? We have to get out of here before someone gets hurt or killed!" The blue haired scientist shouted to the ex-sniper.
Instead of listening to her friend. Rain just smiled and stayed put.
"Go Bulma, get the kids to safety. I'm staying here." She said.
Bulma's jaw dropped to the floor in shock. Before she quickly gained back composure.
"Rain, you can't be serious! If you stay here you will be killed!" She told the younger woman.
"There's no time for debate! Get out of here, Bulma! I've made my decision! I'm staying! Don't worry about me! It's imperative you get your family to safety!" Rain replied.
But Bulma was being stubborn.
"This isn't Afghanistan, Rain! These are not ordinary men with guns. These guys are powerful! If you get caught in the crossfire, you will die!" She stated.
"I'm sorry, Bulma! But I just can't leave! It's better I stay here! Don't worry! I have a plan! Now please go!" Rain shouted back, starting to get frustrated by Bulma's stubbornness.
There was another earth shattering boom. It made the ground shake pretty violently and almost threw the women off their feet. Bulma was about to say something. When Bulla began to cry from all the loud noises. That was when the older woman sighed in defeat. She had to get the kids out of here. But she also didn't want to leave Rain behind. But the longer they remained here. The more dangerous it will become. And Bulma will never forgive herself if something were to happen to the kids.
So she gave Rain a pointed look, before nodding and shutting the cruiser doors. After a minute, the cruiser roared to life and Bulma took off in the direction of the city. Which was many miles away from the danger zone. Once they were out of sight, Rain took the new rifle out of the bag. This was followed by the box, that held the hollow rounds, filled with the ki suppressant. She wasn't oblivious. Part of the reason why that maniac was here was for her. She knew it when he made eye contact with her.
A plan started to form. They weren't far into the fight. But Rain could already tell Goku and Vegeta were starting to struggle against this new power level Frieza achieved. Hopefully, her plan will work. The challenge is putting the plan in action before the saiyans get killed. With that, Rain grabbed the bag and took it, along with the rifle, and the rounds deeper into the woods.
Goku saw stars as he got sucker punched in the side of the face. And Vegeta took a knee to the gut. Both the saiyans were thrown back by the force of the hits. Vegeta coughed up some blood, while Goku wiped some off the corner of his mouth. That's when they started to realize the severity of this fight. The whole time they've been fighting so far. Neither he or Vegeta were able to land a blow on the shorter tyrant. Not only that, but Frieza was hardly winded and showed no signs of slowing down.
So Goku went ahead and powered up to Kaioken Super Saiyan Blue. Vegeta followed suit and powered up to his highest level in the Blue Form. Frieza held out his arms in a mocking matter, as if to say; 'Give me your best shot.' They shouted and went for him again. The two saiyans were moving even faster now, throwing their combos with precision at the arcosian.
Frieza just ducked and dodge the hits with ease. It's as if his foes hits were coming at him in slow motion. He grabbed both incoming fist and smashed the two fighters together. The move jarred and stunned the two saiyan warriors. Vegeta felt an uncomfortable pressure in his lower ribs. While Goku thought he heard a cracking sound when Vegeta's head made contact with his collarbone.
The tyrant let them go and they began to fall to the earth below. But mid fall, the fighters composed themselves. Not before Frieza charged up a large red ball of ki and shot it down at them. They quickly dodged it and it hit the beach below them. It kicked up a large explosion of sand. The saiyans pulled their hands back to charge a return assault towards Frieza.
Goku fired off an amped up kamehameha while Vegeta shot a powered up version of his galick gun. Frieza countered with a golden death ball. This death ball looked a bit bigger than usual and had a reddish aura around it. When the blasts connected, there was a blinding light followed by a loud explosion. It was a struggle, for the blasts were constantly being pushed back and forth inch by inch. Unfortunately, it looked like Frieza's blast was starting to overpower Goku's and Vegeta's own blasts.
The saiyans pushed back harder, trying to force it back at the tyrant. Frieza pushed back twofold. It inched back towards the saiyans even quicker now. When it made contact, Goku and Vegeta were blown back. They hit a rocky cliff with such force they put craters in it. Before they could recuperate, Frieza fired a large death cannon at the pair. The cliff around them exploded, sending rocks and debris everywhere.
When the dust and smoke cleared, both saiyans were still embedded in the rocks. Both Goku and Vegeta were covered in scrapes, lacerations, and bruises. Frieza looked down on them with a sneer.
"Honestly, I'm disappointed. Usually you monkeys put up a better front than this." He said, mocking the injured warriors.
Goku was the first one to recover. He fazed out and quickly reappeared in front of Frieza. The saiyan threw a combo of rapid punches at the tyrant. At first he wasn't having any luck. Then finally, he made contact and sent an uppercut to the evil emperor. The hit caused his head to snap back, blood seeped out the corner of his mouth from where he bit his tongue.
Goku sent a harsh punch to his solar plexus. There was a slight cracking sound as the wind was knocked out of the arcosian warrior. Frieza growled and grabbed Goku's arm. He quickly pulled the saiyan in and rammed his knee into his gut. Spittle came out Goku's mouth with a pained gasp. Then Frieza came down on the back of his neck with a karate chop that sent Goku sailing down to the ground.
That's when Vegeta fazed in behind Frieza and executed a point blank blast to the tyrant's back. It forced the shorter warrior forward several yards. He flipped back around to face the saiyan prince. Vegeta charges up energy and fires his galick blazer at Frieza. The tyrant quickly dodges the blast and counters with a punishing blaster.
Vegeta puts his hands out to try and buffer it. He could only hold it for about a minute, until it became too much. Then it struck him and sent him crashing into a cluster of palm trees. Frieza dropped to the ground, and slowly approached the downed warriors. The two saiyans were struggling to get up. Frieza smiled sadistically, and raised his hand to the sky. He started gathering a large amount of yellow energy in his hand, preparing a death blaster.
"Frieza, stop!" Came a woman's voice from his left.
The two saiyans did a double take when they saw Rain, standing less than a couple yards away from the three fighters.
"Rain! What are you doing!? Get out of here!" Shouted Goku in alarm.
The tyrant began to chuckle. "I think it's best you stay where your at. I will be collecting you very soon once I kill these two primates."
"Not going to happen, Frieza!" Goku replied.
Rain took another step closer, while keeping her hands behind her back.
"Please stop this, don't hurt my friends." She pleads.
He raised an eye ridge. "I'm not going to continue to hurt them...I'm going to kill them."
She brisk walked, until she was right in front of the saiyans. They looked to her in surprise and simultaneously began yelling at her. Telling her to move, to run away, and to take cover. But she ignored them, looked over her shoulder, and told them to 'shut the hell up.' Then turned back to Frieza.
"Here, I've made it easy for you. Now you can easily kill all three of us." She said, catching the tyrant completely off guard by her statement.
Frieza narrowed his eyes.
"This isn't a game. Move." He growled out through clenched teeth.
"Kiss my ass, cuz I ain't going to move." The fiery woman retorted.
He growled and fazed out. Only to suddenly reappear right in front of her. Rain didn't even flinch when he did this. She was tired of being afraid of this arrogant prick. It was time to knock him down a few pegs.
"If I have to move you myself, I will. Do not test me...Rain." He said, in clear warning.
Then the ex-sniper did something totally unexpected. She gave him a soft smile and reached up to caress his cheek.
"Nice form your sporting there. But I think, I much prefer your original pale form. Much cuter that way in my opinion." She said sweetly, while leaning into him a little more.
This sudden change from her baffled him. Just what was this woman up to? Her face drew a little closer to his, now he could feel her breath upon his dark lips. At that moment he wanted to close what little distance they had and pull her in for a kiss. But this was really not the time or the place for that. He put a hand on her shoulder, stopping Rain from leaning in closer.
"Just what are you up to?" He asked suspiciously.
A look of hurt flashed across her eyes. Which added to his confusion.
"I wish to see you again, in your normal form. I rather kiss you in that form than this one. Sorry to say, I'm not a huge fan of the 'gold' form. Please, Frieza." She said, tears started to gather in her eyes as Rain gave him her best 'kicked puppy' look.
At first, he would've thought her feigning this entire rouse. But now she cries? The petite woman looked so tempting right now. Her light blue eyes bouncing back and forth from his eyes to his slightly parted lips. He's not sure why he let his guard down. It was something he soon will realize was his biggest mistake. Frieza's golden form melted away. He was now in his pale, true form again.
The arcosian pulled her in and smashed his lips against hers. To his surprise, Rain reciprocated and kissed him back. As their tongues battled for dominance, he suddenly felt a sharp, explosive pain in his back. Frieza pulled back as his body jolted violently as if he were being electrocuted. His erratic movements forced the young woman back. Luckily, Goku was there to catch her.
Frieza yelled in pain and dropped down to his knees. After a few more moments, the spasms started to lighten up. He still felt a sharp prick and slight weight of something in the middle of his back on both sides. He reached behind him with shaky arms and felt two small tubular protrusions jutting from his skin. Frieza yanked on them until they came loose.
Then brought the objects around to look at them. He held what look like two small metallic tubes. Each one had a wicked long needle on the tip. There was nothing in the middle, it was see through. But he knew there must've been something in there. He felt something being injected into his blood stream, and quickly traveled throughout his body.
Frieza looked up at the three people in front of him.
"What did you just do?" He asked in a low voice.
He pushed himself up on wobbly feet and took a shaky step forward. Why did the hits he received earlier during the fight, suddenly feel like they hurt a hell of a lot more than they should?
"Answer Me!" He shouted at Rain.
Goku slowly lowered her down and kept an arm around her for support so she wouldn't collapse. Rain looked him in the eye.
"Nothing special, just gave you a double dose of this ki suppressant. It was in those rounds your now holding." She told him.
His breath hitched and his eyes widened. He looked down at his hands and made a fist. Frieza felt...different, his energy seemed like it dwindled down to nothing. His skin felt softer, maybe even a little more fragile. 'No.' A horrifying thought came to mind. If he didn't know any better he'd say he was on the same level as a human.
Vegeta smirked at his fearful and shocked gaze.
"Now you know what it feels like to be a weakling. And seeing as Rain gave you double the dose, who knows how long it will last." He said.
Frieza growled and threw his hand out in front of him to blast the smug saiyan prince away. To his horror, nothing happened. No ki build up, no power up, no nothing. This felt like some twisted nightmare, it had to be. There is no way the all powerful emperor, Lord Frieza was now rendered powerless.
"No! This isn't happening! It's not possible!" He shouted.
Vegeta chuckled and crossed his arms.
"Believe it, now your as helpless as a kitten. How far the mighty emperor fell from his throne." He went on to mock the tyrant.
Frieza became enraged and lunged for the saiyan prince. It was so slow, Vegeta saw it coming a mile away. He side step the arcosian and brought a fist down to the back of his head. For the saiyan, it was a mere love tap of a hit. To Frieza, it felt like someone hit him over the head with a sledge hammer. Next thing he knew, everything went dark.
The tyrant face planted into the ground and didn't get back up. He was knocked out cold. Vegeta pointed his hand down at the unconscious warrior. A small ball of yellow ki formed in his hand.
"Vegeta, wait!" Rain said.
He looked back at her with a frown. "What now, woman?"
"Don't, he's out cold and he's no longer a threat." She told him.
Vegeta snorted, "Yeah, and? This bastard deserves what's coming to him. He's nothing but a waste of space."
"As far as the rest of us are concerned. He already got what he rightfully deserves. Frieza is most likely facing his worst fear. Being powerless and weak. If you ask me, that's an even worst fate than death for him." She quipped.
"You seem to forget one thing. This drug is temporary. It could wear off at anytime. When that happens, it could prove very dangerous for us. It's better to eliminate the threat now while we still can." Vegeta replied back.
Rain turned to Goku as if to ask for help.
"Goku, please. I get that he's an evil son of a bitch. But this still isn't right. And I've already seen one too many people die. Both in Afghanistan and on his ship. I don't want to see anymore death. He's knocked out now. When we get him back to Bulma's lab, we can inject him with more of the formula and contain him." She says.
The orange clad saiyan sighs. "I get where your coming from, Rain. I really do. But what would be the point in keeping him like this and containing him? There really is no justifiable reasoning behind it."
"I know." She says in defeat.
Vegeta scowls, "Don't tell me you actually feel something for this sadistic prick. Your nothing more than an object to him. A toy for him to play with, use up, and discard."
"I don't know, Vegeta. He took quite the risk when he came here. Even though Frieza said it was for revenge, I still can't help but think there was more to it. I think he may have also came here for Rain. Would he really go through all this trouble if he just saw her as nothing more than a toy?" Goku countered.
Vegeta grunted, he didn't want to believe Goku. But every now and then, Frieza would take his eyes off the fight before. As if he were looking for something or...someone. He has no doubt, the bastard was looking for Rain. He will be the first to admit, that this was truly uncharacteristic for the infamous evil emperor. But instead of finding it interesting, it just worried him. The saiyan prince has never seen Frieza show emotion or affection towards another being. He's worried that the tyrant may have developed an unhealthy obsession with their human friend. Something he wouldn't want to subject Rain to.
But when he turned back to the young woman. She had a pleading look in her eyes. He clenched his fist.
"Fine, have it your way. But don't say I didn't warn you." Vegeta told her.
Rain had a small smile on her face and was about to say something. When they heard rumbling from above their position. They looked up and saw it was Bulma. She must've stuck around from a safe distance, observing the fight. Then came over when she saw that the warriors stopped fighting. As she drew closer, the blue haired scientist saw Frieza's prone form lying on the ground.
She landed the cruiser about twelve feet away from the small group and opened the side door. Bulma exited the cruiser and ran to them.
"Are you guys ok? What happened?" She asked.
Rain smiled, "I must say Bulma, your ki suppressant worked like a charm." She said, as she gestured to the unconscious Frieza.
The older woman was a bit surprised at first at what she heard. Then a smile formed on her face.
"Hey, it's why I made it in the first place." She admitted.
"Prepare a cell for this bastard. Unfortunately, we're taking him back with us. Don't ask why, it was Rain's idea." Vegeta said.
Bulma looked to the younger woman in question. Rain just shrugged.
"Let's just say it's a combo of getting even and payback." Was her only answer.
The blue haired woman sighed and turned back to her husband.
"Well, hurry and get him aboard then. Would like to get him in containment before he wakes up." Bulma instructed.
"I'm not touching the slimy bastard. Have Kakarot carry his dead weight." Vegeta said, while gesturing with his head to the other saiyan.
"Uhh, ok." Was all Goku said.
Before he went over and tossed Frieza over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. There was a slight grunt from the arcosian warrior. But he didn't stir. They all entered the cruiser. Trunks and Goten were looking at them in confusion. Trunks went to say something.
"Don't, don't ask. Let's just get home." Vegeta snapped.
Bulma lifted off and headed back to South City. Rain sat in her seat and stared out the window. Why? Why did she spare this heartless asshole? If she was honest, Rain wasn't so sure of herself either. Was it to see him squirm? Or did she really just not want to see anymore death? At least Rain has plenty of time to figure it out.
Quite a turn in events. I can imagine Frieza will be extremely pissed when he wakes and finds himself prisoner. No doubt, Vegeta is going to continue to lay it on thick for the tyrant to his expense. Whereas Rain is still struggling to find her reasoning behind sparing the evil emperor and taking him back with them. Could only wonder what will be in store for both Rain and this now weakened Frieza. Until Next Time ;)
