Ch 19. Feros part II

Location: Feros, skyway

Shepard's POV

Everyone was here along with some new soldiers & a giant mech as we gathered around the Mako & I look at the others "Well Comms aren't working so looks like some of us will have to stay here"

Anthony or Wolf-1 replied "I was thinking the same thing, some of us will stay here while he rest of us go on ahead" well that was weird but I had to agree we both knew that comms weren't working & there wasn't enough room to carry everyone

The giant Mech aka the Rookie went ahead & said "I'll go with the commander, might need some help with obstruction on the skyway or to cover you guys"

Wolf-4 went ahead & said "Well Shepard your gonna be stuck with Wolf-1 & the Rookie, so whoever else you pick is gonna come with you" I nod as I look at everyone that is here

So far the Mako could hold up me & my team but I don't want too much weight since the bridge looks a little wrecked

So I just picked the Rookie, Anthony, Sepia, Ruby, Kaiser, Prime, Garrus, & Ashley as everyone (except for the Rookie who was going to use the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL suit) as they loaded into the Mako as I looked at everyone else who was staying & said "Forge, Johnson, I want you two to look after the Normandy & everyone here while we're gone & let us know if anything weird is going on"

Johnson replied "You got it ma'am & better bring back my walking bricks" I smiled then got into the Mako & I soon noticed that there might have to some upgrades to the size but I'll have to get us to the building & take out that Geth ship & figure out what Saren is up to & why was he here

-20 minutes later-

We made a stop at a building with a ramp that leads to the ExoGeni building but apparently Anthony, Kaiser, Prime, & Sepia got a little car sick but once we stopped they immediately got out of the Mako & flopped down on the ground as they sounded like they were dying

"Oh calm down it wasn't that bad" I said that as I got out of the Mako along with Garrus & Ashley as we went ahead & helped them up then we saw the Rookie's mech show up right next to the Mako

I heard Anthony speak "Shepard, if we ever find a Warthog or a fucking Mongoose then we will be driving that" I smiled then giggled a little on how he reacted to my driving on the inside

I heard Kaiser say "Wolf-1, could you please tell your girlfriend to never do that again, I nearly lost my lunch" I looked at Kaiser as he was using a stick with a blade on the side which I think they called it a Gravity hammer but that got me turning red from what he said only for him to receive a stare from Anthony or a glare but it's hard to tell with those damn helmets on

Prime called out "Hey guys, Sierra is picking up life signs coming from the hole" he pointed to a hole which seemed lit

Garrus called out "I'm also getting some transmissions from down there & I think they can see us" I nodded as we made our way into the hole & as soon as we entered except for the Rookie who was going to keep a eye on the Mako we found some survivors

One of them said "That's far enough" I could guess that they must of been having a rough time with the Geth but I don't think they came from Zhu's hope

Another one of the survivors said "Relax, Jeong. They are obviously not Geth" I relaxed a little but I knew that Wolfpack wasn't especially Wolf-1 since he's a lot more quick to draw his weapon then trying to negotiate

The first survivor now called Jeong looked at her then said "Get back, Juliana." The he looked at us "Who are you? What do you want? What the hell are those things?" He points to Wolfpack knowing that he didn't get the memo on them

I looked at him then said "Commander Shepard. I'm here to remove your Geth problem. These guys over here are to help as well"

The woman now identified as Juliana looks at Jeong "You see? You worry to much"

Jeong replied "and you trust too easily, Juliana." I felt a little cold but then I glanced at Anthony seeing him looking at him as his hand was resting on his pistol so I'm guessing he wasn't liking him at all

Juliana then said "I'm just glad to see a friendly face. I thought we were the only humans left on this planet"

I guess I might as well tell them so I said "Fai Dan &isomer members of Zhu's hope are still alive"

Juliana seemed surprised then looked at Jeong & said "I thought you said they were all dead."

Before he could reply Anthony spoke up "Sounds like you got faulty Intel from a paranoid child"

Garrus spoke up next "They're surviving but the Geth really hit them hard"

Juliana then said "We know what that's like. Those damn synthetics are-"

"What?" I looked to see Ghost, Sierra, & another AI appear who I never seen before then he said "We've been doing all the work around here & you just go ahead & accuse all of us for something that only a small group is involved in?"

Jeong seemed to be freaking out including others & before anything happens I heard Anthony call out "Don't even think about it. You can either fight us or the Geth & I have to say neither side is something is willing to give mercy if you attack"

That seemed to intimidate everyone in the room but that didn't make things easier for us but I stepped in then said "Look let's all calm down. We're here to to keep the Geth away from you but we need some information."

Jeong was about to say something but from how Wolfpack was eyeing him he must of chose not to speak then Juliana said "The Geth are up in the ExoGeni headquarters. Just a bit further along the skyway."

Jeong finally said "Those headquarters are private property, soldier. Remove the Geth & nothing else."

I told him "I'm not interested in your company secrets" Prime looked like he wanted to get his sword out but restrained himself so there's something up with them

Juliana called out to us for something "Commander before you go... My daughter, Lizbeth. She's missing..."

Anthony walked up to her then said "We'll find her & if she's alive we'll bring her back. That's a promise" that seemed to give her some hope & I hope we can keep that promise

Sepia & Ruby we're checking up on everyone & Kaiser was very interested in Jeong in a predator way but I looked at Juliana then asked "Where is your daughter?"

"She was working in the ExoGeni building when the attack came" Anthony nodded

Sepia then said "We should get moving before the Geth or something find our ride" we all nodded & immediately got back to the Mako as the Spartans just climbed on as Garrus, Ashley, & myself got inside & drive

When we drove up the ramp we found a whole lot of Geth but the Rookie made quick work of them with that minigun on its arm as it ripped the Geth to pieces

I heard some sniper shots going off which means that Sepia & Anthony are assisting in clearing the Geth & making a path for us to the building

Anthony's POV

I would just like to point out that I will fucking murder Jeong for how much Bullshit he's been hiding but before we could keep going a Geth rocket trooper got lucky & shot the Mako's tires off & that got the Mako to stop

If it was just me & my team we could of easily booked it & got the mission done on foot but with Shepard's squad we couldn't afford that so Ruby, Kaiser, & Sepia would be sniper support while me & Prime went to work with Shepard's people while the Rookie cleared the road ahead

"Shepard we still got a whole lot of tangos" I gave Shepard a heads up because there was literally Geth all over & more then the game but that didn't stop her as her & Garrus came out then quickly got to work on repairing the Mako from the outside

Prime & I gave them covering fire with our magnums & we had to be precise in out shots because we don't have a whole lot of ammo to spare at the moment "Got it! Everyone get back into the Mako." I heard Shepard give the order but before me & Prime could get on a Rocket came right at us quickly & knocked us off the skyway

We fell & the only thing we could say was this "SON OF A BITCH!"

Shepard's POV

I wanted to think that this was just some nightmare but I couldn't really think on that from the amount of gunfire we were getting so I got back in & drove to the building & Ashley asked "Commander what happened?"

I couldn't really say anything & she asked again "Shepard what happened"

Sepia answered that on the coms "[Wolf-1 & Wolf-4 got hit by a rocket & got sent off the skyway. Right now we gotta complete the mission here then we can try to find them after]"

Wow she could of put that in more lightly but to be honest Anthony would of went after us to make sure we were ok but these guys don't seem to care or they just stay focus on the mission... I hope those two are alright

Anthony's POV

Me & Prime have been falling for like minutes which feel like hours because right now we were just pretending to be comfy as we were falling & Prime said "Hey dude! What do you think we'll find down at the bottom? I'm hoping its some cool motherfucking vehicle that can get our asses out if here & up to Ashley"

I just shrugged not knowing noir caring because I was playing virtual chess with Ghost in my helmet since I was bored & didn't have anything better to do

-10 minutes later-

I got my ass handed 5 times & I just decided to say fuck it & look at the bottom seeing that we might be reaching the bottom I looked at Prime then said "Get ready to fly!"

He nodded & after waiting for a minute we activated our jet packs & we were beginning to slow down & as soon as we touched down to the bottom we were able to deactivate our jet packs & land on our feet "Dude where are we?" I looked around not knowing where to go but our AI's were having trouble trying to figure out where to go

"Let's look around. We might find something to get us back to the others" he nodded then we started walking but he got his sword out & I got my sniper out so we were ready incase something came at us

But we soon found a structure of some kind & we checked it out only to find that it's Forerunner as I was shocked but what's more is that this structure was actually under the very building of where ExoGeni is on & I heard prime say "Freelancer... We definitely need to find out what this place has & is anyone else has been inside"

He was right so I open the door & we walked in & saw that no one has been In here for centuries but then I saw the lights come on but we continued walking until we found a terminal & Sierra ordered "Prime. Plug me in" he did so & she was in & got started on the data mining

Tony's POV

Forge got everyone close to the Normandy as I was expecting Zhu's Hope to turn on us any second & I stood out with the rest of the UNSC personal kept their guard up

I soon saw a few colonists walking toward snow with a weapon but before I could say anything she did a 180 punch in the throat & got out her rifle & hit them in the head with the back of her rifle knocking them the fuck out but we had the whole colony looking at us then started shooting at us but the ones that had good armor & shields stood out in the open & whack the colonists in the back of the head knocking them out but for the ones that didn't put up suppressing fire to keep the colonists in cover while myself & Snow went to kick some ass as we yelled out & got started on the beat down on the century

Anthony's POV

Prime plugged Sierra back into his helmet after we got the Intel & he said "Well this place seems to be the forerunner archives of everything they left behind here along with the location of all the other installations. but apparently we also found out that there are halo rings just not sure where they are at including everything else ,so we got the Intel but we don't have the exact location just the area"

I sighed then replied "Good job. Now we get this to Halsey & make sure the council or anyone is near but we also can't let anyone else including ExoGeni find this place"

"Yeah but this is right below where the Geth ship will drop down at so we got that covered but we maybe able to get in where Lizbeth is at & catch the others there?" I liked that idea & nodded as we got our Jetpacks ready & as soon as the girls in our heads gave us the go we lifted off & followed the waypoints they set up

Ghost then said "You two do know your girlfriends are gonna kill you right?" Prime & I were both just realizing that & I did not want to get my ass kicked or have my ear nagged off

Shepard's POV

We got into the building & pass the Geth shield as we had to go through a hole & into some tunnel & we found Lizbeth after nearly getting shot at & Rookie was going to stay with the Mako to make sure nobody came to take it

We were just about finished talking with her when a pair of Varren came out of nowhere & we're about to jump us until a sniper round shot through one & a the other was shot up with a rifle & when I turned to see who it was I saw Anthony & Prime standing right there as Anthony said "That was not a fun walk"

They holstered their weapons & before anyone said or did anything prime called out "Let's go take care of the ship them you can kick our ass" they started walking to the stairs & I was shocked on what just happened but I quickly got back to my senses & followed them along with everyone else but I was worried & they came back like it was nothing

We got up the stairs to see a Krogan having trouble talking to the VI & I could swear that Wolfpack was laughing quietly but I guess it was kinda funny seeing how he was having no luck on getting the info he wanted until it tipped him off about us & when he turned around Ruby picked him up like he weighed nothing & threw him down the stairs & Kaiser dropped a grenade down on him which blew up killing him until he said "Fuck! I didn't make a one liner.. Meh next time"

We walked up to the VI but instead of just using the access I got from Lizbeth Ruby used her AI to gain everything that we'll need as she then said "Well I got everything we'll need. Wanna hear it now or later?"

"Let's hear it now so we know what's going on" I asked her

She then replied "Well he was looking into the info on the Thorian. It's right under the colony. The giant plant is actually a smart fucking salad. It can infect people with its spores if the people have been around it long enough. ExoGeni was using the colonists as a experiment & Lizbeth was part of it but definitely didn't like the experiment" I was instantly surprised on how much info she found & what she literally said but I was kinda half paying attention

Sepia replied "We should hurry & disable the ship so we can talk to someone" I agreed & took point as we made our way up & soon we found the Geth worshipping some weird light thing but looked at Garrus & Ashley & Wolfpack as we got our weapons ready & light up the Geth leaving nothing but scrap

Anthony's POV

Everyone was going around either exploring or getting the ship down but I was more focused on this ball of light as I got closer it started fading away & revealed a monitor "Ok now that's weird?" I picked it up & looked it over as it was in very good condition but then I saw it power up

The monitor then said "Greetings Reclaimer!" I jumped & let go of the fucker as I backed up "I am 343 Guilty Spark. It is very good to see you again reclaimer"

I replied just as everyone got to me "You tried to kill me & the others. Twice! So how the fucking pits of bloody hades are you alive?"

Spark replied "That is a question I'm unable to answer as I do not know, but I do know that my protocols are gone so I will not be able to take action against you once again & I regret for any actions I may have commit"

Garrus then asked "What is that?" Spark saw him with his one eye then floated over to him

"Ah a Turian, very primitive & aggressive." Spark said & I had to say that I'm surprised that Forerunners were actually here & even more as to how Spark is here

Garrus was gonna say something but Spark continued "I also see that these False reclaimers are using element zero? Very inefficient, waste of resources, no benefits whatsoever"

Ashley replied "What the hell are you talking about? It's used for everything from our weapons to ships & Relays"

I went ahead & said "Ok we can continue this argument later but right now I just want to-" we then hear a explosion & saw the ship go falling down "-finish... The ship..." We then look to see Kaiser was standing then

He then said "What? You were taking to long" I wanted to say something but then our comms came on & we heard Joker

Shepard answered "Is that you Joker? What's going on over there?"

Joker replied on comms "[The colonists started attacking us but thankfully Forge & Johnson were able to coordinate everyone on subduing them with everyone.]"

"Alright so there's no problem?" I knew there was something because the way back wasn't going to be that easy

"[We're picking up some ships above the planet & I think their sending down some ground troops of some kind but I don't know what they are]"

"Sit tight Joker, we're on our way" Shepard finish talking to Joker & looked at us but she didn't need to know If we heard or not but we quickly went back to the Mako with Sparks following us & Shepard wasn't sure about it following us

I looked at Shepard then said "It would be better to just take him with us so we can have proof to the existence of Forerunners" She agreed but as soon as we got into view of the Mako Shepard looked at everyone

I soon noticed Ruby nod to Shepard then got everyone to the Mako as She stopped Me & soon pulled me away then said "can you take your helmet off please?"

I wasn't sure why but I followed then I took my helmet off but then I regret it as she slapped me across the face which hurt like a bitch "Owww I deserved that" but then I felt something come onto my cheek & pull away which I looked to see Shepard turning red a bit then I asked "I'm not sure if I deserve that?"

Shepard replied "That's for coming back" she smiled as I was feeling a bit warm so I put my helmet on then we both walked to the Mako to see Prime & Ashley talking & he has his helmet off

Prime looked to see us then said "Hey you two done making out because we gotta save the universe again" I'm glad I had my helmet back on & Shepard was doing her best to hide it as she got into the Mako

I got a better look at Prime almost forgetting what he looked like Obi-Wan from the prequels & I said "Funny because I was gonna say the same thing to you" I smiled as we gave a small laugh

Ashley then asked "I have to admit, I would of loved to be a Spartan. You guys get the best looks, gear, & training"

My AI replied "Yeah but then again you won't get paid & have to do all the work. Now let's stop talking & get rolling" all three of us got to the Mako & got back on the skyway

I'm not sure if It was real or not but I looked up to see the very horror of the war as multiple phantoms were coming down loaded with both troops & vehicles as I could only think of one answer "Covenant..."

343 Guilty Spark is here and I saw the book Halo: Renegades where he comes back as a Prometheian Soldier but Freelancer hadn't yet and kept him as a Monitor plus Spark could do more as a Monitor than a Prometheian but you decide, leave a review
