DANIEL'S POV

Naturally, making it all the way to Olympus, stepping up the grand steps to Aphrodite's palace, the goddess was not home.

I mean, how is that possible. Physically, and metaphysically?

"The Olympians are currently searching, as of now." A minor god informed me.

Classic, classic.

Aphrodite charms us, then disappears momentarily to only reappear a century later.

I sure hope I'm wrong.

I'm definitely right.

Rose heaved a sigh, "Just our luck."

"Just our luck," I agreed.

Luckily, our hotel from last night was still reserved, due to my high intelligence.

I plopped down on the pullout couch, "What now?"

Rose laid down on the bed, "We wait for a sign."

"Until then?"

"We find clues."

"You're being extremely vague," I sighed.

"I know."

We were both silent after that.

I finally got up and walked over to the snack fridge, "Weird, right. No more monster attacks."

Rose nodded, "Now that I think about it, we should've gotten attacked on our way back here."

"Something's up," I said densely.

Night fell quickly, meaning that I slipped into the realm of sleep easily.

In my dream, I was surrounded by mist. The ground was studded with roots and the mist rolled around it as it would usually in a horror movie.

An eerie growl came from the woods, all around me.

Suddenly, a shadow loomed over me.

A voice boomed, "Daniel Silvers, son of Zeus. You're more pathetic than I imagined."

I looked up and saw a humanoid. At least 8 feet tall. Towering over me with a 5-foot sword in his right hand.

The blade was jagged and sharp, it looked like it was made of pure obsidian, radiating a type of malevolence that I immediately wanted to shrink away from.

I definitely did not have enough training to be fighting these kinds of monsters.

I wanted to speak, scream, run, but my body was frozen in mid-air, like time itself had stopped.

The humanoid stepped forward, "I am your bane. Seek me and you shall find what you wish in the West, but be warned; you will die a harsh and final death."
