Takes place during season 2 set at Maki-Chans holiday house
xXx
Maki looked out the window of the train with a board expression. It was once again that time when she and her fellow members of Muse would go to her holiday house. Though, she never did understand why they went to hers, especially since there were other places more suited for practice. But when her friends all turned to face her with hopeful expressions, she never could argue against them.
She hated it when she couldn't say 'no'.
But, in all fairness she did always have fun when they arrived. Not that she would ever admit that.
She was, after all, not going to lose against Nozomi. Even if Nozomi already knew that Maki did have fun.
Since she was so lost in thought, the red-head failed to notice when Rin and Honoka suddenly jumped on her. Both beaming at her in excitement.
"W-what?" she asked, overcoming her shock and averting her eyes.
"Makiiii how long is it gunna be?" the blue-eyed crazy girl asked. And Rin nodded along with the question.
"Mnm we have been on the train for agessss nya~" Rin followed, leaning further into her fellow first year.
Maki pushed the two girls off her lap and stood up. "Geez you both have such a short attention span. Weren't you both playing hide and seek or something?" The piano player asked, pointing a finger over to Hanayo who was looking in someone's luggage calling 'Rin-chan'.
"Maki-chan were not kids" Honoka pointed out.
"Oh? then what are you exactly?" three heads turned to an annoyed expression. Nico stood there, hands on hips and a face that said 'I have no time for your silly acts'.
Honoka turned her head to the side, eyes showing nothing but confusion.
Nico's hand collided with her face. And both Maki and Rin started to move away slowly before the short girl released her fury on the innocent Honoka.
Rin sat down on her seat and Maki walked along the carriage to where the rest of the group were currently conversing. She slid into the seat next to Umi and gave out a sigh.
"My you look a little tired Maki-chan~" Placing her elbow onto the desk in front of her and leaning on her palm, Maki stared at Nozomi with an annoyed glance.
Nozomi released a small grin "did you not get any sleep by any chance?" her gaze went between the two girls in front of her.
Umi looked at the girl questionably, not really getting at where Nozomi was going with this.
Maki on the other hand, glared daggers at the girl in front of her. Her cheeks turning a nice shade of red.
Nozomi's grin turned a little wider, but she decided to drop the hinted subject.
Nico joined the three, her cheeks puffed out and a frown placed firmly on her face.
She glared at the two girls in front of her and both raised an eyebrow in return. Umi and Maki certainly weren't afraid of the older girls childish moments.
Once Nozomi turned to the smaller girl in an attempt to calm her down. Maki scooted a little closer to Umi, gently leaning against her.
To hide her embarrassment, Umi stared outside at the passing scenery.
But even she couldn't help the smile on her face.

Once the group finally made it off the train, each and every one of them stretched their arms and legs to try to regain some of the feeling.
"Well" Eri started "now that were here, we better get to the house before it gets any darker" each of the members nodded in agreement.
"Wait. Where's Umi?" Kotori asked.
"Right here" Turning around, the members all sweat dropped once they saw the massive luggage bag in front of Umi.
"Right, well" Eri coughed into her hand "lets just go".
xXx
Finally arriving at their final destination. The members all gaped at the giant building now before them.
Maki casually unlocked the door and strolled inside.
"H-How?" Nico asked.
"What have you never seen a house like this before Nicochii?" Nozomi teased. Causing the small girl to shake her head and cross her arms.
"O-Of course I have" Nozomi raised an eyebrow "after all I am Nico Nico-N-"
"Yeah, yeah just get inside" Maki cut her off with an annoyed tone. It only made the third year all the more irritated but decided to let it slide.
After all, she did have a tiny soft spot for the red-head.
Honoka tried her best to stifle a giggle at the girls annoyed look. But when she got inside, her laughter could be heard all around the house.
"Right. Umi. Maki. Kotori" it's time to show your stuff" Honoka declared. Pounding her fist in the air.
"And make sure there the best you can do" Nico added.
Eri nodded "and while you three do that, we'll be practicing the moves"
All members nodded in agreement and they all separated.
xXx
Maki led the way through the house and showed both Umi and Kotori the rooms.
"This is where you'll be Umi" the red-head pointed into the room and the archer stepped inside.
Looking around Umi quickly gave her thanks before Maki shut the door.
A few doors along and it was the sewing room. Opening the door, Kotori stepped inside and stared at the room in awe.
"We have all the things in here. If you need anything thing else I will be at the piano"
Kotori gave a nod and expressed her thanks. Maki gave a small smile and left the girl to do her work.
Making her way to the piano, Maki lifted up the wooden casing and sat down on the stool. Her fingers gently glided over the polished keys and it wasn't long until they started moving on their own.
Just when she thought that she might have a break through with the music, her mind went blank and she stopped playing.
Shaking her head, Maki decided to give it another go.
A few more attempts later...
Crash "What the?" looking out the sliding doors, Maki's eyes widened when she saw both Umi and Kotori running outside.
Walking over to the door, she looked out to see them sitting on the ground.
"hmmm"
xXx
"I wonder how the others are getting along?" Honoka said out loud walking up the stairs with refreshments.
"Umi-chan I-" looking into the room, Honoka blinked a few times before letting out a scream. She rushed over to the next room "Kotori-chan! Umi-chan ha-" her eyes widened again once she saw another empty room.
xXx
Rushing outside, Honoka called to the other girls. But when her eyes settled onto three figures, she quickly made her way over.
xXx
"A slump!?" the members stared at the three girls in shock.
They each looked like children who had just been told off.
"I guess we put too much pressure on them" Eri said. The three let out another sigh and slumped further into the couch.
"Looks like it" Nozomi concluded. The group gave the three each a sympathetic look and decided on what they could do to help out.
"I know" Honoka blurted out. "Why don't we split into groups and split the things between us"
Eri gave the idea some thought "that's not a...terrible idea" she mumbled.
"I-I think it's a good idea" Hanayo agreed meekly. And Rin nodded at them both.
"It's settled then!"
xXx
Later on that day, the group of nine had divided themselves into groups of three and had set up camp in different areas.
Nico, Maki and Eri decided not to go too far from the house and were currently sitting around a make shift fire.
Honoka, Kotori and Hanayo were settled next to a river bank, taking in the beautiful scenery.
And last but not least Nozomi, Umi and Rin had settled on the mountain tops. Gazing at the stars above them.
Eri had tried her best to act casual when she went to bed. But in all honest she wasn't fooling anyone.
Nozomi and Umi were still staring off into the sky but it wasn't long until Nozomi was off to bed herself. Leaving Umi alone with her thoughts.
Though she didn't stay that way for long when she heard something from the distance. Standing up, Umi made her way over to the noise and from the distance she could spot the house. Squinting her eyes, Umi noticed that the lights were on and the noise she heard was in fact a piano being played.
Umi closed her eyes as she heard the melodic tune being played and started to make her way to the house.
Once she reached a parting in the tress, Umi spotted Kotori on the other side. Giving her friend a smile, the pair headed into the house to meet up with Maki.
xXx
Umi released a small yawn and stretched her arms. Her eyes were slowly drooping shut and she knew it wasn't long before she would fall asleep.
Looking down at the girl next to her, a smile made its way onto her lips.
Maki was currently asleep, leaning onto the piano. Leaning down, Umi placed a small kiss on top of the girl's head before whispering "good night" in her ear.
Giving her girlfriend one more smile, Umi got up and stumbled over to the couch. Smiling when she also saw Kotori fast asleep. Sitting gently as to not wake up her friend, Umi got herself comfortable on the cushion before she too closed her eyes to go sleep.
Well at least the new song was ready for the next performance.
Smiling in her sleep, Umi dreamed at what may come for the group.
Whatever may happen...at least we have each other...
