"Wow! I wonder how many pokemon we'll be able to find!" Ash said with a bright smile as he and his friends stood near some patches of grass.

"They usually stay in the grass since Professor Magnolia is the only one who lives on Route 2." Hop explained, his hands laced behind his head.

"So that's her house?" Shauna asked, pointing to a big house that was a long way from them. "By the lake?"

Hop nods. "Yep!" He smiles, then frowns. "Oh! You guys are gonna want to do the Gym Challenge."

Everyone looks at him.

"Gym Challenge?" Gary repeats.

"You know, it's were trainers go to different gyms to challenge them." Hop explained.

"Why didn't you just say so?" Ash asked. "That's what I've been doing since day one!"

Gary smirked. "Right, you had a late, mmmfff." He's quickly muffled when Ash clamped both his hands over his mouth.

"Shhh!" Ash growled. "That's suppose to be confidencial, Gare Bear!"

Gary shoved his hands off. "Put a sock in!"

"I'll put the whole thing in your mouth!" Ash threatened.

"Ash! Gary! Stop it!" Serena yelled as she pushed herself between the two.

"Yeah, you two." Shauna agreed.

Ash turns away with his arms folded. "Fine!" He huffs.

Gary rolls his eyes.

"Now that that's out of the way." Hop said, he turned his gaze towards the long route. "Anyone have any pokeballs?" He asked, turning towards them.

Serena smiled. "I stocked up last night!"

Shauna nods. "Me too!"

"I'm not a rookie." Ash replied.

"Neither am I." Gary finished.

Hop nods. "Good. cause the pokemon here, they like to chase you." His comment had the girls frown.

"Chase us?" Shauna repeats.

Hop backed away sheepishly with a sweatdrop. "Sorry, some of them can be mean if you're not careful." He quickly explained. "I accidentally stepped on a Nickit's tail once. Chased me for miles after that."

Ash chuckled. "Oh, we've angered some pokemon before too."

"Let's head to Professor Magnolia's place. She'll update and put pokedex's in everyone's Rotom Phones." Hop replied, starting to move.

"Hold on hot shot, what about me and the girls?" Gary questioned as they start to move. "We don't have Rotom Phones."

"She'll still help you out on that." Hop reassured.

The five friends were now far on Route 2. Serena was happy as she had caught a Rookidee and a Purrloin, Shauna had caught a Yamper and a Gossifleur, while Gary had caught a Nickit. Both Ash and Hop wanted to wait until they got to the Wild Area.

Serena groaned after so much walked, she sat on a rock. "Wow! This route takes forever!"

"Yeah." Hop agreed. "It is a pretty long journey towards the Professor's."

"Her house is so close now." Ash said as he gazed into the distance, he turned. "We're nearly there!" He starts to run.

"Hey! Wait for me!" Hop yelled before running after him.

Shauna sighed, she folds her arms. "Any one want to make a bet that Hop is gonna be like Ash?" She asked.

"No thanks." Serena shook her head. "I can already see that those two are just a like."

"I'm with Serena." Gary agreed with a nod.

Ash who was far down a hill, turned back to them. "Hey guys! Come on!"

Gary folds his arms. "Ladies, let's go and see how much trouble Ash can get into."

Both grinned.

"I'm up for that!" Serena exclaimed.

"Me too!" Shauna cheered.

Together, the three quickly ran to keep up with Ash and Hop.
