I know this is late but I am very sad to hear that Kirby Morrow, the voice actor for Cole, has passed away. Even though Cole was not my favorite character, Kirby Morrow did a fantastic job as Cole and he will greatly be missed. Especially after getting his own season this year. I know we don't know if the series finale is after season 15 but if it isn't, I don't think Kirby would want us to stop just because he is gone, especially if season 15 ends on a cliffhanger. Even though we don't want to think about it, Cole will be getting a new voice in the future, if the show is not done next year. I want to say this if/when Cole does get a new voice, please be encouraging to the new voice actor for Cole. No one can replace Kirby, that's a fact but we have to be good to the new voice actor as I am sure he will be under a lot of pressure to be apart of a community that has stood together strong for nearly ten years now. Anyone would be, please, spread this to other people. If/When Cole's new voice actor is announced, please be kind to him. He already knows that he won't replace Kirby but he needs to know that we will be behind him, just like the other voice actors for the ninja will be. He needs to know that he will be accepted into the Ninjago community. Okay? All we can do is wait and see what they will do in the future. That's all I want to say. Let's continue with the story.
In the bridge, the Ninja were in a meeting with Nya. On the table, a piece of cloth was covering something. She took it off to reveal a skeleton.
"Some villagers unearthed the remains of this Fangpyre a few miles away. It predates the Golden Age and must be hundreds of years old. Although the venom in the fangs of the Fangpyre genetically mutate human cells into reptilian, now I don't know how this would affect snake hybrids, but I plan to do some experiment with their DNA later. However, I think I've learned there could be a way to stop the effects without having to create an antivenom." As Nya was talking, Zane was taking notes with his tongue sticking out, avoiding his fang with his tail flickering in the background, while Kai was bored. Cole is drawing a picture of him fighting while Jay who was sporting a new hairstyle, stared at Nya with an infatuated expression on his face. "If one is able to wildly raise their heart rate, hypothetically it could reverse the venom's effects." As Nya was talking, her cheeks started to turn pink. "Resulting in...diminished, uh, excuse me, is someone wearing perfume? I'm severely allergic to perfume." She told all of them with worry in her voice.
Jay laughed nervously then whispered to Kai, "You told me it was men's cologne."
"Meh, I get them mixed up." Everyone but Jay and Nya laughed. Zane smiled as he and Kai high-fived each other. The small prank was his idea. Kai told them while Nya is severely allergic to perfume, they wanted to play a small prank on Jay. Kai did tell them that it would take a while for her allergy to activate completely. Since discovering his true potential, Zane has started to grow in his confidence. In fact, he normally went out as himself, no disguise whatsoever.
"Ah, looks like class is over. Time to start stomping some Serpentine before they find any Fangblades," Cole said as he, Kai, Zane, and Jay stood up with their notes in hand.
"Sounds like a plan," Kai agreed.
"I'm excited to join." Zane, Kai, and Cole left the bridge.
Jay was about to leave too but he waited for the others to leave so he could talk to Nya alone. He took a deep breath then walked up to Nya. "Uh, hey uh, Nya, I'm sorry. The reason I was...you know...I went to Kai because...look. What I'm trying to say is..."
"I know. It's just a cruel joke. I should be fine. Please, go fight snakes," She told him but she was a bit sad. After all, she thought Jay was cute.
"No, no, no, no. I was trying to impress you. Before Sensei left, he said our heart was the key to unlocking our True Potential," Jay told her.
"Impress me? But I look so..." Nya started but she couldn't finish.
"Fantastic." Nya started to play with her hair nervously. She didn't get many compliments like that. "Look, maybe, if you'll let me, I can take you to some big fancy restaurant. You don't have to if you don't want to..."
"You mean like a date?" She asked with a little hope in her voice.
"Um, yeah?" He said nervously.
"Sure! I'd love to. But I have to go now before the perfume toxins enter my bloodstream and I go into shock. See you tonight." Nya left him to get some fresh air and to get away from the perfume.
"Yes!" Jay laughed in pure happiness. 'I did it! I asked Nya on a date. I wonder how much closer I am to my true potential.' As Jay was dancing to himself in happiness, he accidentally pricked himself on the Fangpyre skeleton. "Ow! Aah! Man." Jay left the bridge, unaware of the small drop of venom that fell from a fang. A fly drank the venom and immediately turned into a Fangpyre fly. Jay was in a lot of trouble and he didn't know it yet.
On the Mountain of Madness, Sensei Wu confronted Lord Garmadon. "Hello, brother. What took you so long? You brought the katana from our youth. Funny, you never had the courage to cross the temple wall, yet now you have the courage to come here."
"Why have you come to this place of darkness?" Sensei Wu asked him, ignoring what his brother told him.
"A place as wicked as me? Don't you see? Here I feel at home. In Ninjago, I was physically unable to hold all four Spinjitzu Weapons. But here, dark magic has made me stronger and what was once impossible is now possible." Garmadon faced Sensei Wu and revealed that he now has four arms.
"You came here only to possess the Weapons of Spinjitzu?" He asked horrified.
"Yes, brother, and I refuse to allow you or your petty Ninja to stop me!" Garmadon summoned four weapons, a katana, stythe, a bō staff, and a shuriken, to wield and started attacking his brother.
Wu dodged the weapons by sliding under them as Garmadon came after him. Even with four weapons, Garmadon was unable to land a hit on Wu, who used his katana to block each attack. Garmadon got the idea to push his weapons on Wu's sword. Wu tried to hold back the attack but he fell down in a pit of mud. Garmadon landed in the mud and Wu did his spinjitzu to get mud on his brother. But Garmadom summoned mud monsters to attack him. Wu tried to fend against the mud monsters but it was pointless. "Brother, I've not come here to..."
"You will pay for your visit. Mud monsters, converge!" The mud monsters surrounded Wu and started to suck him into the mud. "You don't belong here, old fool. You should've known better than to try to stop me."
Wu struggled to free himself from the mud monsters. "I didn't come to stop you. I came to warn you. To tell you..." The mud monsters covered Wu in mud silenceing him but Wu was determined to get his brother's help. "your son's in danger!" Wu was pulled back in and his hand was the only thing out of the mud.
"Lloyd?" Garmadon rushed to save Wu from the mud monsters. He pulled him and Wu started to take deep breaths. "What has Lloyd gotten himself into?"
"He has opened a can of worms I fear I will never be able to close."
Garmadon may be evil but the one thing he cared about that his evil heart could not stop him from doing, was loving his son. "You mean we will never be able to close. Get up." Garmadon helped Wu up from the ground. "You can tell me more later. First, we need to return home. How did you find me?"
"Traveler's Tea. But I used it all and now have no way back."
"There is only one way to return to Ninjago. But to get there, we must pass through the Mountain of Madness and it is a long and dangerous road ahead."
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
"We should leave. Before it really gets dark." The two started their journey to return to Ninjago and save Lloyd.
The Serpentine dug their way aboveground. One of the Constrictai who dug the hole helped Pythor out but Skales just came out with no help.
"This is it, Pythor. The map leads us here. The first Fangblade." Skales points to Mega Monster Amusement Park. It was early in the day and the park was packed. Skales was concerned about them getting caught. "Maybe it's better to wait until dark, so we don't attract any unwanted attention from the Ninja or Samurai."
"Oh, I have a feeling we'll fit right in," Pythor told him.
The park was packed with families from all over Ninjago. The owner had no prejudice against hybrids so he always allowed them to enter as he saw them like everyone else. Families were taking pictures with the mascots. A dad was dragging his kid out of the park since the kid refused to leave. A kid ran away and screamed as he ran away from one of the mascots. "Hey, don't go."
As Pythor and the Serpentine were going to find the Fangblade, a father and his wife and child walked up to them, thinking they were mascots. "Excuse me." Pythor turned to the family. "Would you mind if my family takes a picture with you?"
"Your costume is so authentic."
"Of course. Welcome to...to, uh..." Pythor looked at a sign. "Mega Monster Amusement Park!"
Skales took the camera and got ready to take a picture. "Say cheese."
"Cheese!"
On the Destiny's Bounty, Jay is getting ready for his date with Nya. Jay was talking to himself in the mirror, he was thinking of things to say to impress Nya. "Did I ever tell you I was the first one to learn Spinjitzu? No, I mean, uh, I invented Spinjitzu. Yeah, that's it. And I invented a few other moves, like the karate double chop. Hyah!" Jay did a fake punch to the mirror and once he looked at his hand, it had scales on it. Jay gasped in fear. "No! No, no, no. The prick from the Fangpyre fang! Oh, no. This isn't happening. No, it's nothing. It's just a rash. It'll probably just go away. You're gonna do great, Jay. This is your chance to shine. Hehe." Jay went to the bridge wearing gloves and a scarf, he also put some scented hand sanitizer on so he could disguise the scent of the scales from Zane in case he could smell them. He goes to the bridge wearing gloves.
"Whoa, where are you going, Mr. Fancy?" Cole asked noticing Jay's look.
"Didn't you hear? I'm taking Nya to a nice restaurant. A really nice restaurant," Jay told him.
"You might wanna change your plans. The bridge just picked up evidence of Serpentine activity over at Mega Monster Amusement Park." The monitor showed a photo of Serpentine in the park, they were taking a picture with the same family from earlier.
"Hey, that's Pythor," Jay pointed out.
"Pythor would not be there for fun. We believe a Fangblade may be buried underneath the park," Zane told him.
"We can't let them get it! Oh, but my date..." Jay had been wanting to take Nya on a date for a while and this might have been his chance to unlock his true potential.
"Jay, if they get all four of them, Pythor can unleash the Great Devourer. Get your priorities straight, man." Kai wanted to protect Nya since she was his little sister but right now he needed to get the Fangblade first.
Jay got an idea and left to knock on Nya's door, however, she had just returned from her patrol as Samurai X. "Huh?" She couldn't tell if it was her brother or the others at the door so Nya rushed to get the door closed.
"Uh, Nya, you there?" Jay was about to open the door but Nya slammed it. "Argh!"
"Don't come in! I'm getting ready."
"Well, um...I just wanna talk to you about our date." Nya started to hide the weapons and the Samurai X suit in her closet. "You know, I'm hearing really bad reviews for the restaurant and I just..." Jay was pretty nervous about this. He had never canceled a date, granted, he had never been on one.
As Jay was talking, Nya's bracelet projected a map, it showed the location of the Serpentine. "Serpentine spotted at Mega Monster Amusement Park?"
"You know, I think we should cancel."
Nya opened the door and said with a bit of sadness in her voice, "Oh, you're canceling?"
"No, no. I just wanted to know if you would rather go to the Mega Monster Amusement Park instead," Jay suggested.
"Really? That would be perfect! But aren't you overdressed?" Nya gasped when she saw her Samurai helmet in view. 'I've got to get that out of sight.
"Well, yeah. Of course, I need to change..." Nya kicked the helmet and Jay noticed the action. "What was that?"
"Nothing! You know what? I'll dress up too. Looks fun." Nya went behind a changing screen to change.
"Hey, I was thinking, you know, we'd take my Storm Glider there," Jay suggested.
"Sounds like fun." She came from behind the changing screen in a sequined dress which stunned Jay before he smiled in fascination. Without Jay seeing, Nya shrunk down her samurai helmet and put it in her purse. "I'm in your hands." They take off for their date at Mega Monster Amusement Park.
Wu and Garmadon follow a path that leads to the Mountain of Madness. "So, what kind of trouble has Lloyd gotten himself into?" Garmadon asked Wu.
"Well, I'm afraid to say, the worst kind. He's reopened the Serpentine tombs, and now that they have united, Pythor is trying to find the Four Silver Fangblades to unleash the Great Devourer."
"The very snake that turned me evil?" He thought they sealed the Serpentine years ago. 'How did Lloyd find their tombs and free them?'
"Yes."
"Why would Lloyd open the tombs?"
"To be like you," Wu told him with a hand on his shoulder.
"I never wanted him to. Thank you for watching out for him."
"You may think of me as your enemy, but I was first your brother."
Jay and Nya arrived at a restaurant in Mega Monster and their food portions were huge. "Yeah, even when I was young, it was clear I was born and bred for adventure. I was the first one to get my knot badge in 'Lil Scouts. I was always trying daring foods." Jay laughed at himself but Nya wasn't paying much attention. She needed to stop the Serpentine before they found the first Fangblade. "I once built these wings from scrap metal and other..." Jay noticed that Nya wasn't paying attention to him, he moved his food to get a better look at her. "...uh, you okay? You seem kind of distant."
Nya moved her food to look at him. "Uh, yeah. It's just the portions are so big. And to think we split our dish."
Jay chucked at that. "So that Samurai. Oh, man. I hate him, don't you? He's such a showboat, you know? If you ask me, he's nothing without his big, clunky exo-suit."
Nya frowned. She knew that the others, besides Kai and Zane, didn't like the Samurai but she always got annoyed when Jay or Cole bad-mouthed the Samurai since she was the Samurai. "Oh."
"Yeah. Nothing can compare to two good old fashioned feet and fists, don't you think?"
"Yeah, sure." All Nya could do was agree with Jay, she couldn't reveal her identity as the Samurai, at least not yet.
"You know, sssomebody once told me..." He gasped and looked at his reflection in a spoon. He saw that he now had fangs like Zane. They were sticking out of his upper jaw.
"You okay?" Nya asked concerned, Jay normally could talk up a storm. He was nervous like her but Jay never stopped mid-sentence.
"Excusse me. I have to use the resstroom." Jay ran the restroom and discovers that he's turning green before removing his glove and seeing his hand in the same condition. "Oh, gosh. I'm turning into a snake!" Jay hid in a stall to hide from the public. A man entered the restroom and knocked on Jay's stall. "I'm busy, dude! Can't you see it's taken?" The man left and Jay looked at his hands. "I can't go out there looking like this. This is the worst date ever!"
Meanwhile, a group of humans and hybrids are riding an attraction that is meant to be scary. A fake vampire tried to scare people. "Ha! Lame! This ride is stupid." The man saw the Serpentine digging for the Fangblade "Heh, look how stupid this guy looks." The Venomari sprayed everyone on the ride with their venom and it scared them all to death. All they could see was the ride's monsters coming at them. "Get me off this thing! Mommy!"
"Where is everybody?" Kai, Zane, and Cole turned and saw riders running away and screaming from the attraction.
"Wait a minute, that ride was never scary," Cole told them. He would know, even when he was a kid, the ride was never scary.
"Venomari," Zane deduced.
"Should we get Jay?" Kai asked.
"Let's not bother the two lovebirds. I think we can handle this."
They ran inside the riding going by the people who were running away in fear. "Excuse us, coming through."
"Nothing to look at, folks," Cole told them.
"This is official Ninja business," Zane told them.
Nya's bracket kept beeping but she ignored it for Jay, who still hasn't come back from the restroom. Nya was starting to get worried. Nya sighed. "Sorry, Jay. Duty calls." (She left the booth to strop the Serpentine as Samurai X.
"Huh, you don't look so bad. Just go out there and tell her the truth," Jay said as he looked at himself in the mirror. Jay heard a ripping sound and felt something on his back. He turns around and saw a small green-scaled tail. "Ah! I have a tail! No, no, it's okay, Jay. Lots of girls like tails. I mean, look at Zane's, it's really useful. He uses it to grab things sometimes." Jay went back outside to their table and saw that Nya was gone. "She left? Nya?"
Jay tried to find Nya but a man noticed Jay's snake tail. Normally, he wouldn't be worried about that since snake hybrids had scales but snake hybrids did not have tails. "Snake!" Everyone looked at him and started to surround him. They grabbed their food and started to beat Jay with it.
Jay covered his head to block it from the attack. "No! Stop! You don't understand!"
Nya ran off somewhere private and changed into her Samurai X suit. Then she summoned her Mech and got inside it. She ran off to battle the Serpentine.
Skales was digging the hole until he hit something metal. Pythor used his tail to uncover the Fangblade. "Ah." Pythor laughed as he picked up the Fangblade. "The first Fangblade is ours!"
Kai took out the Sword of Fire and ignited it to get the attention of the Serpentine. Cole and Zane were by with his side with their weapons out. "Not ssso fasst," Kai said imitating them.
"Really? That's the best you got?" Cole asked unimpressed.
"I couldn't think of anything on the fly," Kai told him.
"How about "Time to burn" or "Jump on this fire ride"?" Cole suggested.
"Well, next time, you lead," Kai told him.
"Next time I will."
"Oh, yeah? If you can catch up."
"Oh, come on. You gotta follow my lead." The Serpentine growled at them as they prepared to attack the Ninja.
As the Ninja and the Serpentine fought, another group went on the ride and saw them. "Ninjas? Ninjas aren't scary."
"Watch and learn, brothers." Zane relaxed and used his True Potential. He was going to use it on the Serpentine. Pythor and Skales backed away not knowing what would happen however Zame did not use his True Potential on the Serpentine, instead, he accidentally froze his teammates. "Oops." Every Part of the was covered in ice except for the tip of Kai's sword and a small part of Zane's tail.
Everyone laughed at them and left the ride but Nya used her Mech's magnet to steal the Fangblade. "Stop him!" Pythor ordered.
Nya tried to fly away but something went wrong. "Thruster malfunction." She tried to run away but the Serpentine chased after her. One of the Venomari accidentally got caught by the roller coaster ride coming by. He eventually fell down to the ground from a great height. She started to climb the roller cooster and with the Serpentine not far behind she reached the top, she started to ride it with her Mech. The Serpentine on the ground watched with fascination then she got on the ferris wheel then quickly got off behind a group of them could get on her. They started to surround her then she fled from them quickly. The Serpentine past a cotton candy stand a Hypnobrai took a cotton candy and ate it happily.
The Constrictai came up from the ground in front of Nya. She found herself unable to escape as the Constrictai got on her Mech. The Mech fell to the ground with a thud. Pythor came over to see who the Samurai was after taking back the Fangblade. "Finally, the mystery man is revealed." Everyone gasped when her helmet was taken off. "Or should I have said mystery girl? Who's gonna save you now, hmm?"
Back in the restaurant, The crowd is still hitting Jay with their and other items. "Ow!" Jay crawled out, ran to the restroom, and covered himself with his scarf. "Do not go in there. He bites. This is not dinner theater, people. It's real! Arm yourselves." Jay ran outside and saw that his tail had gotten a bit bigger and longer. He ignored it and looked around for Nya. "Nya! Where is she?" He looked around and saw a group of Serpentine. "Hey!" Jay got out his nunchucks and was ready to fight but the Serpentine laughed at him when they saw his tail.
"Oh, what happened? Snake bite your tongue?" Pythor joked.
Jay ran forward to fight the Serpentine but Nya called out for him. "Jay! Help!" He turned and saw her chained to a roller coaster.
Pythor signaled for Bytar to turn the roller coaster on and Nya started to move. "Later, alligator. Let's go, boys." Jay saw that Pythor was getting away with the Fangblade but he also saw that Nya was in danger. 'I have to save Nya, we still have a chance to stop Pythor. Nya comes first.' Jay got on the ride just before it went up the first hill.
"What happened to you?" Nya asked him, seeing him covered from head to toe.
"What happened to you?" Jay looked ahead and saw a ring of fire and broken tracks. "Unh, we have to get you out of here."
As Jay tried to free Nya, she noticed his snake tail. "Were you bit? Take off your headscarf."
"I prefer not. I was meaning to tell you, but I didn't want it to ruin the date," He told her.
"Oh, that's so sweet." Then Nya remembered something Jay said earlier. "Hey, you were the first in your 'Lil Scouts group to get your knot badge, right?"
Jay blushed under his scarf and told her, "Yeah, about that, I made that up just so I could impress you. I was never in 'Lil Scouts."
"You weren't? Hold on," Nya told him as she looked ahead.
"What? You have an idea?"
"No, hold on!" Jay got in the ride with her just as they went down the slope. As they rode down the slope, Jay's scarf came undone. His face was like his parent's face when they were bit months ago.
Jay felt his face and knew that his scarf came off. As Nya turned to look at him, he used his hand to cover his face and turned away. "Aah! Don't look at me! I'm a monster. Though I hate the Samurai, where is he when you actually need him? Samurai! Help! Help! Samurai!" Jay stood up and called for the Samarai.
'It's not or never.' Nya thought to herself. "Jay, I don't think the Samurai is coming."
"Why?"
"I know this might not be the best time, but I haven't been totally honest either."
"What is it?" He asked her.
"I...I'm the Samurai!" She told him.
He scoffed and then said shocked, "You're the Samurai!? Aah! We're running out of track." Jay didn't have time to process his shock as the end was coming closer.
Nya turned to Jay and told him, "Jay, if anything horrible were to happen, I want you to know that you don't have to wear cologne or pretend to be anything that you're not. Because I like you best when you're you." She kissed him on the cheek and he turned back to human. She smiled at him. "Your face. You're returning back to normal."
Jay rubbed the back of his head and said, "It's just like you said. You must have raised my heart rate."
"Whatever happens next, just remember, you are the best you." Jay stood up as his Nunchucks begin to surge with more power than before. "What's happening?"
A flash of blue light surrounded Jay and he changed into his ninja suit, "My True Potential." He turned into pure electricity and stopped the train just inches before it hit the fire. The light went away and he was back to normal. 'Man, this must of been how Zane felt after he reached his True Potential. It's definitely liberating.'
After Kai melted himself, Cole, and Zane from the ice, they met up with Nya and Jay at the entrance."You really had me fooled. I never guessed you were the Samurai. You must have found several ways to disguise your scent from me. Very impressive," Zane told her.
"I wished I had a sister like you," Cole told her.
Kai, wanting to prove that he was the Green Ninja, said, "Technically, I was the first to discover her secret, and didn't we agree whoever we thought was the best would naturally be the Green Ninja? Huh? The Green Ninja! The destined Ninja to defeat Lord Garmadon, huh?"
"Why would we say that?" Jay asked him.
"Yeah, I'm drawing a blank," Cole told him.
"Nope. Sorry, Kai. I can remember scents, not conversations." Kai shook his head and shrugged it off. 'Maybe not now, but someday, I'll prove that I am the Green Ninja.'
"You know what I learned today?" Jay said.
"What's that?" Nya asked him.
"No matter what kind of secret you have, whether you're a snake or a samurai or a hybrid, it's important to be yourself."
"Yeah, that's cute, but you wanna know what I learned? The Serpentine now have the first Fangblade," Cole told them. They only had three more chances to get just one Fangblade to stop Pythor.
"But we are getting stronger. One day, we will all reach our True Potential and Pythor will be stopped," Zane told him with confidence in his voice.
"And we figured out all this without Sensei. Pretty good for four Ninja." Nya punched him and he said, "And a Samurai."
"I wonder what Sensei is doing now." Kai could only wonder and hope that whatever Wu was doing, he was safe and was bringing back help.
Garmadon and Wu have now reached the base of the mountain. "We're here. The Mountain of Madness," Garmadon told him. He gestured to a mountain that looked like the top of a volcano that looked ready to explode but instead of the colors yellow, red, and orange coming out of it, it glowed blue.
Wu sighed. "The only way back to Ninjago is up there?" Wu asked him.
"The worst is yet to come." They start ascending the mountain and Wu could only imagine what could attack them before returning to Ninjago.
