Hello folks. It's been a whole month since I last posted my chapter. My day has good days, and bad days. Job is been stressful, and I almost got fired from working too slow. Gotta keep my focus. But it's all for experiences like my mom said. Virus is still going out of control. I've been keeping up with what's been going on. Before you can read this chapter, I wanna give a shout out to Chadwick Boseman; I was saddened that he passed away from colon cancer. The man was a great actor since me and my brother and his friend saw Blank Panther. Thank you, Chadwick Boseman, you will always be a king. Now on to the chapter.

Chapter 8: Drake Anderson

Cody woke up from the Sunny morning rays hitting through the window. He stretched his arms freely without the setback of pain coursing his body. He was all healed from his mock fight on Wednesday. He took a quick shower and put on his casual clothes. His mom and dad aren't returned from their meeting yet. Yesterday his mom texted him they'll be back later in the afternoon. Cody helped himself with fresh made eggs and bacon with two pieces of toast in the toaster. He knew his way around the kitchen since he was often being left alone. Whenever his parents have their out of town meetings, Cody had two opinions of staying at a friend's house or keeping an eye on the place. His parents trust Cody of not hosting any unsupervised party. Cody wasn't the type of guy who throws wild parties; he wasn't like Geoff or Duncan or Heather. He knew manners since he was born, especially to proactive members of society.

You see, Cody's parents are two very important people. Andrea runs a company called S.H.A.R.E, or Survival, Health, Aid, Rescue and Emergency. The organization consists of volunteer people dedicated to help others who are in need. They dealt with domestic violence, cancer, AIDs, homelessness, rape, serious illness, and others diasters. Stan Anderson is a famous stockbroker to some of the major flourishing companies. Though he helps his wife provide the funds to her company. Long story short, his family was rich. People might find this incredibly ironic that he, a nobody with a troublesome quirk, is related to two of the richest people in town and the only crime he had done was the little wardrobe malfunction he did with those girls.

With freshed breakfast in his hand and orange juice in the other, he walked to the living room to watch t.v. The plate is set on the china table. Cody turned on the television, and the first thing he saw was the latest segment of Quick Talk!

"What up, folks! Chris Mclean here with the latest scoop on Wawanakwa's number one show, Quirk Talk!" Chris introduced the audiences with that movie star smile. "Here's what I got in store for my fans. Dakota Milton, heiress of the Milton Hotel chain establishment, is back with a brand new video!" This got Cody's attention as his fork stopped midway into his mouth. On the top right screen was a video of the rich girl from Izuku's Hero Class activating her Diamond harden quick and doing some sanional poses like a model. "Her videos are old, but hey, she's a star in the show! A perfect diamond figure, hehheh." Cody groans at the lame pun. "But there's room for everyone, like a certain bad boy. Here's a video of some hick bar up in flames that was recorded by a fan," Cody ate more of his toasted bread to see the second video of a bar in flames and one person exited the burning place. To Cody's shock, it was Duncan. His arms are covered in magma, likely indicating the geek boy he set the place on fire. And he wasn't alone. Behind him was Gwen. The video pauses with Chris remarking, "You just gotta love the hot headed bad boy. Nice for teenagers to act so free and being independent of doing something so reckless," Cody can hear the mocking in that man's tone. "What is wrong with the town of having to pick up their kids' messes? It's pointless to try if they wanna be famous! Who needs heroes these days? Would anyone want to be safe such as this guy?" A third video is shown that causes Cody to drop his fork and glare at the man. It was the video where Cody blasted the clothes of those girls he was flirting with from his quirk and the ladies chased after him. The video ends with Chris laughing maniacally, "Ha, ha, ha, ha, I still laugh at that! I feel sorry for that little dude who is hiding a life of shame! But he can't hide from the cameras forever!"

Having enough, Cody shut off the television with a firm finger press at the remote control. "Shut the hell up," Cody muttered, drinking his orange juice to get rid of the bits of eggs and bacon. Chris Mclean was the worst man in town. His terrible show consists of making everyone who has quirks exposed like they were puppets. Izuku said that the show brings the worst out of pro heroes and those who want to become heroes. His friends aren't fans of Quirk Talk! Yet some people, like Dakota Milton, find it as an opportunity to become famous rather than being a hero. Or, in Cody's case, make them feel like they can't become heroes from that setback.

But that's all about to change. The geek boy had a plan to become stronger. The person who was going to help him was his Uncle Drake. Cody took a huge slip of his orange juice and wolf down his breakfast to leave the house as soon as possible.

The front door was locked, and the house security system was activated. Cody ventured to the garage to take out his bike. He still doesn't have his driver license yet. He plans to take it somewhere during March when Spring Break comes. Cody had the directions to Izuku's place on his phone from where the green haired cinnamon roll gave him where he was staying.

The bike ride to Izuku's apartment took twenty-five minutes. From what Izuku told his friends at dinner last night, the pro heroes from U.A pay no expense to put his green haired friend in a home till the semester is over. It was impressive to stay there instead of a grand hotel room. Cody walked to the counter to ask which room Izuku is in.

Cody knocked on the door of Apartment 564 three times. The door opened as Cody greeted Izuku.

"Hey, Izuku,"

"Hey Cody," Izuku smiled back at him. "What are you doing here? You up for hanging out again?"

"I was hoping we could hang out together this time," Cody said, glancing at the attire Izuku was wearing. The green haired cinnamon roll was wearing a t-shirt and green shorts. The milk from his bottom lips indicate he was eating breakfast.

"Sure. Where do you want to go?" This made Cody rubbed the back of his neck in what he was about to say next.

"I was wondering if you can take me to see someone since you have a car. I can't go on my bike."

"Sure. Who is it?"

"My uncle."

The 2020 green Chrysler Imperial left Wawanakwa and is now going to another town like Cody's suggested. Cody explained back at Izuku's apartment that he needed to visit his Uncle Drake to get stronger. He never mentions the strange dream he had Friday night; Cody only told Izuku he can't rely on luck ever since he defeated Scott at the last second. The green haired cinnamon roll understood what Cody is saying, and he'll gladly take him.

"When was the last time you saw your uncle, Cody?" Izuku asked, the car was still on the highway.

"Since I was six years old; we still keep in touch on the phone." Cody admitted, his teal eyes locked on the GPS of his phone to the location his uncle lives. "I haven't heard from him, but I know where he is. He lives in a town called Philippe."

"Can you tell me more about your uncle?" Izuku asked of the mysterious man Cody barrey knows since his childhood. Cody briefly told him what he can remember of his estranged uncle.

"He's my dad's older brother. He's a powerful master of Krav Maga and a former commander in the Candian Army and an MMA champion from winning hundreds of Vale Tudo tournaments," Cody said, surprising the driver.

"Your uncle must be a great hero; I bet your family talks to him a lot," Izuku comments. Cody's smile went away after Izuku put the words 'uncle' and 'family' together.

"My family doesn't talk much about him, especially my dad," Cody admitted. "There's been a bad history between him and my dad. I said I haven't seen him since I was six. They had a huge fight, and they have never seen eye to eye ever since. Bringing his name has become taboo in my home. My mom doesn't want me to be involved with him because she considers him a homicidal maniac," Cody laid out a sigh that made Izuku sense he's troubled by the bad relationship his family had with his uncle. Izuku wishes to not to ponder more on Cody's family history, and tells him where the next direction is.

The town of Philippe was a small town, near a gigantic majestic forest. From what Cody can bring up about the town, it was a nice town. Quiet, even. Just like how his uncle was; a quiet and serious man with the look of a fierce commander, but friendly and easy to talk to.

"What's the first clue?" Izuku asked, stopping a car at a stop light.

"My Uncle Drake owned a dojo to train students in the arts of Krav Maga; I remembered the address!" Cody beams a smile; his fingers type on the address of the dojo of his phone. Izuku drove the car to the right. The Chrysler Imperial stopped when Cody pointed at the dojo. When Cody exited the car, his grin disappeared when he saw the dojo was abandoned. Windows were boarded up and graffiti sprayed. This puzzle Cody was seeing the dojo was closed.

"Excuse me," Cody stopped a random stranger who was passing by. "What happened to the dojo?" He pointed at it.

"It's been closed for sometime, sonny," The old man replied.

"Do you, by any chance, know the person who was running it?" Cody asked hopefully.

"You mean Drake Anderson? Sure."

"Can you tell me a bit about him?"

"Try the bar a few miles from here," The old man said. "The bar owner knows him better," Cody thanked the man and returned back to the passenger seat to tell Izuku the next location. Both students entered the bar and went to the bar owner at the counter.

"Can I help you, two boys?" The bar owner asked with a smile he didn't need to shout at them they couldn't be here due to being underage.

"I'm looking for a man named Drake Anderson," Cody revealed, the bar owner's eyes wide at the mention of the name.

"Drake, huh? Are you related to him?"

"He's my uncle."

"No foolin," The bar owner remarked. Cody said about the dojo being closed and he comes here sometime. "He's been here, yes. Doesn't look like the man who wants trouble. If you want to see Drake, he lives somewhere in the middle of the forest; we call it 'The Heart.'"

"Thank you," Cody said. He and Izuku turn to leave the bar, but the bar owner stopped them.

"Though if your friend wants to keep his head, he should watch out," He said, making both students look at him in confusion. The bar owner gestures his left index finger across the room. Both Cody and Izuku followed the finger, and jumped back in shock. A skeleton of a gigantic-sized bear sits in the bar acting like a statue. The bar owner revealed "It was Drake that killed it a few years ago. Since then, it has become the town's biggest attraction. Not one single person ever wanna mess with Drake Anderson. Folks here calls him 'The Beast Slayer.'"

The information surprised Izuku, and made the young Anderson extremely shocked. Before he was cut out of their lives, Cody was told stories from his uncle how he was a very strong person in the army. But hearing how he killed a bear that's double its size and gaining a famous nickname made him doubt there was more about Drake Anderson he never knew.

The journey to the woods was going to be tough for the two young heroes-in-training. According to Izuku's calculations, the woods stretch to a seven to fifteen diameter. It can take one, two hours to find where Drake Anderson lives. Not wanting to start the search on an empty stomach, the two went to a local diner to eat a huge lunch. They then went to a sporting goods store to buy nature gears. Hiking boots, a bottle of water, and survival clothing. Izuku drove out of town to find an entrance to the forest; he parked the car after nine minutes and the two went inside the giant forest.

It's nearly two, and nothing shows up from the two boy's view. Their phones couldn't pick up the reception inside the forest; good thing Izuku bought a map at the sporting goods store. Though it didn't help.

"Are you sure this is the way?" Izuku asked regarding the directions of finding Drake's house.

"Yes, I'm sure," Cody answered, rolling his eyes at his friend's doubt. "The guy at the bar said my uncle lives in the middle of the forest, or 'The Heart' of the forest as he calls it. I'm not one hundred percent certain we barely reach the middle of it," Izuku wiped the sweat from his forehead; it was partly cloudy, and the two are fortunate enough to stand in close proximity to the sun's rays. Izuku leaned against an oak tree to take a big gulp of water from his bottle. It was getting exhausting for the green haired cinnamon roll. He looked at Cody who was walking a little off balance and nearly tripped on a rock.

"Wanna take a break?" He asked. Cody stopped to take a breath and held his hand up at his friend. Unlike Izuku, the young Anderson lad wasn't as athletic as he was nor had the same stamina. Cody sat on the wet ground with his breath feeling rapid. The water bottle was in his right pocket, held by a strap on his cargo pants. Cody kept drinking the water like he's been in the Sahara Desert all day. Izuku felt they both needed to take a small break from walking for two hours. They pass the time by talking.

"So Cody, did you know your uncle was strong?" Izuku asked, while adding to the extra information they learned about Drake killing a bear.

"He fought in the Canadian Army; the guy was like a living legend. I never knew he was strong enough to take out a goddamn bear and present its remains to the town like a trophy," Cody shaking his head sideways. "Still, I don't understand why his dojo was shut down. After he retired, my uncle opened the dojo to train people. Uncle Drake may be a guy not to mess with, but he's friendly. I'll give up playing video games if people have negative opinions of him. He's a hero!"

Izuku took the words from his student at heart; it is similar to what his mom thinks of All-Might after his retirement and her refusal of letting Izuku continue his studies at U.A High prior to his past injuries. Thanks to All-Might vowing to protect his protege, Izuku maintains the promise of training with very minimum injuries. Cody's parents are the example of having negative opinions toward Drake; they forbid him from having to contact or mention the name under their roof. The journey to Drake's house was getting heavy for both students. They resume walking in the enormous forest. Izuku was ahead of the chestnut haired boy as Cody was trying to pick up the pace. His teal eyes look at the map and the direction that can lead them to his uncle's home. It should be right there at a few feet probably.

"Cody!"

Cody leans his head up to hear Izuku's scream, right as he pauses at the sight of the cabin that is likely where his uncle lives. However, the 'cabin' both of them found was more like a luxury-class mansion.

"Cody...are you sure this is where your uncle lives?" Izuku asked, his green eyes completely awed at the mansion. Cody couldn't answer except a slight nod. Now there was another clue he didn't know about his uncle; like how in the world could he afford to live in such a brilliantly designed cabin? No car was parked since when can you drive through a peaceful meadow. Both students looked around the cabin. The lights were on in the living room as they peaked from the large window. But nobody was there. Drake Anderson has to be in the house somewhere. The two students prepare to go up to the front door and ring the doorbell.

However, the two stayed inspecting the fine detail of the cabin; they failed to notice a large muscular figure standing from behind. Izuku never notices his presence when his shirt collar is grabbed. He and Cody were lifted off the ground. They felt the pair of powerful strong hands grabbing their collars as the person spoke.

"Who are you?! What business do you two have in here?!" The person was male, and his voice was filled with demand under a strict tone.

Izuku felt stupid of letting his guard down. He struggles from the mysterious man's powerful grip. To his surprise, the man's strength was similar as his own. He answered, ignoring the collar tugging his neck, "We're, We're looking for someone!"

This made the man to ease up on his grip, but still held the two inderters in the air. "And who is this person that's so important for you two coming into my property?" He asked as his eyebrow raised suspiciously.

It was Cody's turn to speak. "My uncle, Drake Anderson!"

The man's eyes widened in surprise. It caused him to drop the two boys to the ground. The man then turned his sights at Cody as he couldn't help but lay out these simple words.

"Cody, is that you?"

Now Cody was surprised as well. He nervously glup when the man addresses his name. "How do you know my name?" He said, flinching at the possibility he'll get a far worse punishment.

"Hell, I knew you back when you were six years old. An uncle never forgets his nephew," The man replied. Cody let his eyes lock on the man's face and knew immediately he and Izuku found him.

This man is Drake Anderson.

Surprised and shocked, Cody could just stare at his uncle in awe as the older man stared back at him in a calm serious way. Izuku felt a bit awkward from this situation as he watched the interaction between the two Anderson. Both of the boys noticed Drake Anderson is a very tall and largely-muscled man with many scars that covered his entire body. He was in his early forties, and the fact he was dressed in a lumberjack attire was scary in how his muscles scratch the clothing and the spenders. He had a large man of brown hair along with a thick beard. He also has a large scar that runs horizontally across the bridge of his nose and the same teal eyes as Cody. His right eye is replaced with what appeared to be an artificial glass eye.

Despite Cody having found his estranged uncle after so many years, he and his friend couldn't help but feel the large man possessed a very intimidating murderous aura that has successfully made both of them trembling and swearing in fear. Gulping and trying to let go of the fear while still being nervous, Cody marched toward his uncle with careful movements. Izuku is ready to step in case something is bound to happen; he was worried about his friend trying to interact with the man known as his uncle. Spreading his arms open, Cody engages in giving his uncle a hug while holding a smile.

"It's great to see you again, Uncle Drake," He said, his weak arms were like twigs compared to his uncle's strong arms and firm back.

Drake felt awkward and had no idea how to respond to this. But eventually, he only patted his nephew's head with his hand. "You grew," He spoke only that word. Then his teal eyes looked at the green haired cinnamon roll who was standing still with a concern expression. "Who's he?"

"This is Izuku Midoryia," Cody broke away from the hug. Izuku replied, giving the man a small wave.

Instead of saying anything back to Izuku, Drake looked back at Cody, "Cody, do your parents know you're here?" He asked in a calm, but sten voice.

Cody was trapped under his uncle's voice and narrowed eyes. It was the last thing he wanted to hear from his uncle regarding his parents. He still remembers the last time he visited his home when he was young, and wasn't in any mood if Cody decided to tell the truth.

"They…" Cody began, but Drake interrupted him with a sigh.

"That's what I thought."

Any more words that came out of either boy are replaced by the sound of their stomachs. Drake raised an eyebrow at his nephew and friend. "You two ate?" He asked.

"We just ate at a diner at around noon before we came here. Didn't know it was going to be a long walk" Cody admitted embarrassingly, the walk took at three hours. The energy from walking took a toll on them.

"If you want, you two are welcome to eat. I just came back with grub," Drake offered the two boys.

"We would like to, Drake-san," Izuku answered and Cody nodded his head as he held his rumbling stomach. Drake walked away to grab something from a tree. It was heavy and required Drake to hold it on his left shoulder. To the boy's shock, it was seven dead Yukon mosses that were tied together thanks to a strong well-build rope. Cody covered his mouth to utter a burp, and Izuku was awed at the older man's strength.

"Impressive! Could his power be the same of the other pro-heroes in Japan?" Izuku asked in his mind at Cody's uncle's shocking strength. Drake carries the dead mosses as he passes both boys to his house.

"Hope you two liked moose meat; it's simply amazing. But wait till you try it with my special Drake Anderson-style, Forest Brunch, your taste buds will be in heaven," Drake said. The two boys followed the man to the entrance of the front door.

Inside of Drake's cabin, it was more of a modern interior design of an orderly cabin. While Drake went to the kitchen to prepare brunch, the two boys took the time to inspect the decor when their eyes saw the trophy case at the far left side of the room. Several medals from the Canadian Military Army placed in special boxes, starting with the Victoria Cross, Cross of Valour, Order of Merit, and Commander of the Order of Military Merit. Below the medals are three championship belts from different martial arts promotions. Cody is taken aback at how much his uncle had accomplished from his years in the military, and being a famous fighter. And if his accomplishment wasn't enough, he had different heads of each animal hugged on the wall. Animals that were considered the most dangerous beasts known to humanity. The large bear back at the bar was one thing, up at the wall were heads of wolves, deers that have the most magnificent antlers, and mountain lions.

"Dinner is ready, boys!"

Both of the boys heard the man calling from the kitchen. Walking to the table, they saw dinner was served. Though this kind of dinner Drake was serving made them pause in hunger. Large bowl of mashed potatoes, a tub of mushrooms and gravy, and the main course at the center was what Drake calls it a Yukon Moose Pie. Five Yukon Moose Pies to be precise. Cody sat next to his uncle and Izuku took the last chair. Drake took out a knife and cut a piece of the meat pie and placed it on the plate. He gave the full plate to his nephew, and Izuku next and finally served himself. Both boys are curious about trying a moose pie Drake had cooked. Cody ate one piece, and his eyes widened. To his surprise, it was delicious. Izuku, looking at the reaction of his friend, ate the piece and had the same result. Both boys dig in on the food as it was the best dish they have.

"So Cody, how are you?" Drake begins, his hand holds the large mug of cold beer. Cody pauses eating and lays out a chuck of the meat before washing his mouth with soda.

"Good," Cody answered.

"What grade are you in?" Drake said, chowing on the meat.

"I'm in my Sophomore year."

"Time flew by," Drake muttered, shallowing the entire pie. "And what's the story with your friend?" He gestured Izuku with his fork.

"Izuku is a transferred student from Japan. He's staying at my school till...the end...of…" Cody answered, then slowly trailed off as he saw his uncle consumed two whole pies at under three minutes. And Drake was serving another at the third pie. Cody and Izuku are blown away at how much that man can eat. The chestnut boy couldn't find words at his uncle's large appetite.

"Jeez, my uncle's hunger can rival Owen!" Cody mentally exclaimed in comparison to the large appetite of his large friend. Same thing could be said about Izuku in the thought of Fatgum. Cody regained his shock and asked his uncle. "How can you eat so much, Uncle Drake?"

"I spent most of my days training," Drake began, a small grin made. "I eat a lot of extra energy and to burn off the extra muscle," This got Izuku's attention in seeing the muscles sketching from his clothes. The training he mentioned must mean how he got so well-fit. He made a small mental note to add that in his Hero Notebook.

Brunch was done. Cody and Izuku helped Drake clean the dishes. All three of them then went to the living room. Drake sat in the comforting recliner and the boys on the leather couch. "I'm beginning to suspect you didn't come here for a reunion, Cody," He spoke narrowingly at his nephew.

"Heh, right on the dot, Uncle Drake," Cody muttered. "First, what can you remember about my quirk?"

"Shooting tiny air from your hands? I can remember plenty," Drake smirked.

"It's more than shooting tiny air; it's gotten stronger. Have you seen the video of me?" Cody corrected and said the one thing he didn't want to ask, let alone his uncle.

"Just because I lived in the woods doesn't mean I'm separated from the World Wide Web," Drake replied, adding a few laughs at the end. This made Cody feel embarrassed. "Just busting your chops, kid. Your quirk isn't weak like I remembered."

"My quirk has gotten out of control. I had it control as I was wearing gloves to surpass them. Long story short, I want to get stronger."

"Oh? And that's why you came here?" Drake raises an eyebrow, and his grin vanishes.

"Yes. I want to be stronger to become the hero I want to be."

"Sorry, not going to happen," Drake suddenly said in a harsh tone, shocking Cody and Izuku.

"But why?" Cody asked, his hopes went away. "I'm training to become a hero. Same goes for my friends. Uncle Drake, we had our first mock battle, and I barely won by lucking out. I gotta get stronger so I wouldn't luck out the same way!" He raises his voice at his uncle. Drake looked unmoved at his nephew's plea; he gave him the most intense stare.

"Drake-san," Izuku begins, giving the man a firm, but less powerful, glare. "I'm not just a transferred student; I'm also a teacher at the Hero Course," Drake softened his glare a little. "It's my responsibility to teach my students in becoming the first generations of pro-heroes. Your nephew is one of them, and all he's asking you is train him."

"Uncle Drake, it's my dream-," Cody took over after Izuku was done speaking, but stopped mid-sentence when Drake spoke.

Shut up, you two!" Drake shouted in a commanding voice, and he released a terrifying aura that sent the boys to close their mouths. Neither of them want to speak back from the man who was in the military.

Seeing the boys's scared expression, the aura was gone like a light. Drake then spoke with a small sigh, "Forgive me, boys. I didn't mean to upset you, including you, Cody. But I'm protecting Cody from training under me. It isn't like any training your teacher is teaching you. My training is both brutal and horrifying for you to handle, and it could very well lead to your death," The man said to his nephew, scaring Cody more as well as Izuku. The green haired cinnamon roll was both too scared and a little curious in what the man meant about his training that can end up killing Cody. The ninth holder of One for All flinches when Drake turns his head at him. "You wanna know my quirk, kid?" He asked the green haired friend of Cody, and Izuku nodded his head, though surprised. "This quirk saved my life as I performed this training willingly. It's called Pain-Free. I don't feel any pain. I don't feel any shred of suffering. I can count how many times I went through the training with both hands tied behind my back. Plus, I don't bleed. My quirk also comes from a healing factor when I make mistakes. Hench these," He moved his finger around his face to show them the scars. "Till then my training has become more dangerous for anyone to teach. Why do you think I closed down my dojo? If I were you Cody, you listened to me and found another mentor. It's bad enough your folks don't want me at their home, I can't look them in the eye if I'm responsible for your death."

Cody understood what his uncle talked about. Even for a man who spent years in the military and an excellent martial arts fighter and a killer among animals, he still has a rational thought regarding Cody's safety and the possibility of what his training will do. "We haven't seen each other a lot, and you're worrying about what would happen. I get it, you're my uncle. But I can do this. Please teach me," Cody repeated his words, mostly ignoring what his uncle is stopping him.

Before Drake can even scold his nephew, Izuku stopped him. "Let me remind you your nephew is one of my students. I share the same concern you're feeling, Drake-san. My teacher is like that when we give it one hundred percent. But like our school motto, we gotta Go Beyond, Plus Ultra. I'm teaching these kids so they would use their quirks to save people and protect their country. Everyone is training to get stronger. Cody is one for example the kind of student that wants to go full out. I believe that he can do it if he wants to be the hero he dreams off."

Cody smiled at his friend for believing in him. Drake sood in silent at what Izuku had said. The man would have to keep trying to talk Cody out of training under him. Just like his nephew, this green haired kid was too stubborn. Releasing a heavy sigh, he uttered "Fine. I'm going to help you, Cody," Cody pumped both fists in the air, and Izuku smiled for the answer. "Before we start, keep this from your parents. My little brother and sister-in-law always go to those meetings out of town," Cody replied they should have been back by now since he and Izuku left town. Drake advised his nephew to call them so they wouldn't be worried. As he was calling his parents, Cody lied he was hanging out one of his friends and won't be back till night. They fell for the lie and told Cody to be careful.

The training Drake agreed with Cody took place at another room in the cabin. A training room that was a combination of a dojo and an MMA-workout gym. Izuku checked the time to see it was around four. The green haired cinnamon roll sat in a chair as he saw his friend interacting with his uncle. He had his Hero Notebook in his hands since he brought it with him for this occasion. He already wrote down what he knows about Drake Anderson and his quirk.

"Alright Cody, this is where we begin your training," Drake began, crossing his arms together as he stared at his nephew.

"Already?" Cody is taken aback.

"You wanna get stronger right? We have plenty of time before the day ends," Drake started back. "My training is no joke. Like I said before, this can kill you. You lack both the build and power needed to be capable of performing the first three steps. Don't worry, you'll start at step one or as I call it the 'Baby Steps.' Then it's step two, the 'Teeange Steps, and the third and hardest step is the 'Adult Steps,'" Izuku took more notes at the man explaining his training steps to Cody as he was interested in what the chestnut boy will be doing to get stronger. When Drake Anderson first introduced his quirk to both boys, he was surprised by what the man told and he was able to survive all kinds of brutality and the training he went under. Izuku himself was strong, even with handling One for All. Yet, somehow this man, this person who was teaching Cody, has much more superior strength than the green haired cinnamon roll had.

"How does a man who's not a pro hero or a villain is capable of being this powerful?" Izuku remarked in curiosity. He'll get to that later; the training is about to start as Cody laments one thing.

"Uncle Drake, couldn't I skip to the second step instead of going through the 'Baby Steps?'" Cody rubbed his cheek, feeling embarrassed and a little annoyed.

"If you're going to whine like a baby, then you and your buddy better leave my property. You're not ready to handle the second stage," Drake bluntly stated. It made Cody quickly change his mind. "The first step is to increase and strengthen your physical abilities to make you perfect for fighting. It'll make you handle the basic moves of my personal martial arts," Cody regained a smile in his face. "I got something very special for you," Drake added, walking to a nearby gigantic heavy punching bag hanging from a chain, confused Cody. His hand was placed on the chain, and took it down before dropping it. Then the older Anderson eyed on Izuku with the notebook. "Can I borrow that for a second?" He asked. Izuku lends the notebook to Drake; Drake flips to the end of the notebook where he ripped off the last page. This made Izuku cry a little. "Calm down, it's only one paper," Drake said, nonchalatntly at why his nephew's friend/ treacher was crying over a stupid paper.

Drake then placed the paper on the chain that formerly held the heavy punching bag. He turned to the confused Cody, "I want you to punch this paper with an Ippon Ken to make a perfect hole in the center," He tapped his two fingers at the aforementioned place at the blank sheet. It drew more confusion out of his nephew. "You don't know any techniques when it comes to fighting. This is why we have the 'Baby Steps.' The Ippon Ken is a karate striking technique that uses the extended knuckle of the middle finger or index finger in order to strike a target. This technique is very effective when a fighter wants to attack a specific point of the opponent's body," He explained the technique while Izuku wrote down the information in his notebook. Going to a nearby trash can, Drake picks up an empty beer bottle. The bottle is placed on a table. Standing a few feet from it, Drake extended his right arm forward with his knuckles firmly closed and index finger sticking out. The glass broke through the bottle, just at the center. It made a perfect hole. Izuku analyze the move Drake performed and Cody was completely shocked.

"It sounded like a bullet from a shotgun!" Cody remarked.

With a relax smile, Drake said "With enough training and focus, a top-level master's 'Ippon Ken' can be so powerful to easily break stones, steel, and even diamonds with perfect ease," Cody is awed by the information and think of the potential of adapting the technique when he mastered his Air Blast quirk. "Now you try it with the paper. Don't forget to extend your knuckle to make the hole. If you can't get it done, you'll never move on to the next technique," Drake added, standing next to Cody.

Cody took a small breath as he eyed on the target. His fingers move a bit. Izuku pauses his writing to take note of his friend's first step of the lesson. The chestnut boy raises his left arm and copies the movement of his hand like his uncle demonstrated. His left middle finger extended at the center of the paper, hoping to make a perfect hole.

A growl escapes from Cody as he tries it again. The paper on the chain had no hole. Sweat beats from his face.

"Why can't I get it right?!" Cody muttered, his left hand aches from attempting to make a hole. He tried using it with his quirk, but to his dismay, it resulted in his blast not being powerful to make a small hole. It made it blow like simple air. This was frustrating him. He's been at this for two and a half hours, and he can't perfect the 'Ippon Ken' technique like his uncle did with the beer bottle. He was sweating like crazy while letting out tired breaths. His hands are tired and he requires switching to the other. Drake shook his head at the result in front of him. Even at the first step, Cody is barely learning anything. Izuku saw the condition of his friend and knew it wasn't healthy for him to keep trying after a long period of time.

"Cody, let's call it a day," Izuku said.

"Not yet, Izuku; I think I can do it!" Cody said, refusing to give up. His right hand flinches at the muscle cramp, but he ignores it.

"Cody, listen to your friend," Drake informed Cody, while lightly pushing him away from the paper. "It's admirable for you to never give up training, but you shouldn't strain yourself. If you do that, you will only lose and waste more strength than you think along with making you lose your focus. It takes days, months, even years to overcome this training. If you just be patient and have focus, then you are capable of accomplishing anything."

Cody held on his right hand from the muscle cramps, though he was feeling it on his other hand. But his uncle was right, so did Izuku. He was getting weak from trying to rip a hole in an ordinary paper and using a bit of his quirk in general. He felt a hand on his shoulder. Cody turns to see Drake giving him a soft glace, "I'll make you a deal. Come every Friday after school. You can even come on the weekends," He offered.

Cody nodded his head with a large smile. "Thank you, Uncle Drake," He said, making the older Anderson smile back.

"It's no big deal. We're family, Cody. And family will always be there for each other."

It was time for the two boys to leave and return back to town. It was seven in the evening. Drake acted as the guide to lure both Cody and Izuku back to Izuku's car.

"Hey Izuku, thanks for helping me get here," Cody said in a tired tone. He was being carried on his uncle's back due to the lack of energy he lost from trying on that technique.

"What are friends for?" Izuku replied, grinning.

"Back when you said I had what it takes to become a hero and become strong, did you really mean that?"

"I really believe in the future, you would become a great hero and you have what it takes to become strong," Izuku said, giving Cody a thumbs up at his friend. Cody weakly smile back, and let his head fall on the crock of Drake's right shoulder.

Once they made it back at the car, Drake placed Cody on the passenger seat and strapped the seat belt on him. "Drive safe, you two," He advised.

"It was great meeting you, Drake-san," Izuku said, starting the engine. "I'll see you later."

"You're coming back?"

"Of course. He's my friend and student," Izuku drives away from the forest after Cody waves his hand at his uncle.

Later at night, Drake sat outside of his cabin and drank his seventh beer. He was smoking on his cigar. He was drunk. His mind wanders on what he has gotten himself into regarding his nephew he hasn't since for a decade. He still can't believe Cody is training to become a pro-hero, along with his friends. And he came to the one person he would never thought to be trained. He was an uncle first, despite telling his nephew in what he's been dealt with his brutal training. Then there's the possibility of meeting Cody's parents, especially his younger brother, Stan. Stan wouldn't agree in letting Drake train Cody to become stronger. Who knows what Stan will do to him if he finds out. Even by drinking six beers, he still remembers the fight he had with him. Drake shook off those bad memories, and thought about his nephew's friend.

Izuku Midoriya.

It's hard to believe this kid is a teacher to the Hero Course since he comes from U.A High, the number one hero school in Japan. It's about time those damn kids learned the true meaning of responsibility instead of showing off like a bunch of monkeys. Still, he doesn't know why Cody brought him here. The way that green haired kid spoke and stood up for his nephew in letting Drake train him while telling those inspirational words. For some reason, Izuku reminded Drake of an old rival and close friend of his. A rival who happened to be the former Number One Hero of Japan.

"Hehehe...Look like things are about to get interesting, huh?" Drake chuckled, blowing smoke through his nostril. His curiosity is piqued more on Cody if he has what it takes to become stronger, and also see how much Izuku shares the similarity as his rival.

The character of Drake Anderson is credited by AustralianBeast17, as well as the ideas for this chapter. Thank you again. Cody now has a mentor to help him become stronger, and this man knows All-Might. Next chapter is Cody being pulled through the intense training held by his uncle. I have plans for the next chapter on HercuLOUD. It's going to be dedicated to Chadwick Boseman as the next mission for both Lincoln and Peter is at Wakanda. I'll put what I can on it.
