Chapter 8: Graduation
After that event, Draco went back to Hogwarts to continue his studies with much mundane, his mind continuously recalling of when he saw her again. The cold unapproachable beauty that is untouchable by anything and everything, and if they do, he is sure that she could easily kill them if she wants to.
Soon they will be graduating and enter into the work force, everyone but him, the Malfoy family has more than enough money to last them for generations of luxury living. Kagome Higurashi, a person of importance and power, something that he had never expected. He had thought that what they had was something more, lovers in fact, but then he felt like everything between them was a lie.
She was looking for someone else in him, his house founder, and also one of the four founders of Hogwarts, Salazar Slytherin. His eyes roam to the same dormitory bed that they once shared when she decided to enter his bed, but since the last time he saw her in Hogwarts grounds and after his anger had subsided, it looked bigger, empty and colder.
His trunks are packed as he finally walked over to his bed and sat down on it, looking at the spot where she would usually sleep when sharing his bed, and leave before anyone wakes up in the morning, even him.
He slowly laid down on his side, as he face the direction in which she would usually lay, a hand reaching out to touch the sheets. He could still remember her scent, the gentle sweetness with a balsamic and refreshing spice like tones.
He closed his eyes for a moment to reminisce the memories of the past, the sound of footsteps coming up to room, made him jump out of bed as he quickly neatened his appearance, hand reaching out to grab the book by his bedside table as his roommate entered with a quick 'hey'.
When he entered the Great Hall one last time with his peers, and seated himself quietly, Draco elegantly crossed his legs, his hand on his book as he placed it on his lap, watching on with disinterest at all the commotion and others excitedly discussing about future plans together.
Though the thing that he had not expected, was seeing her present in the Great Hall as a guest with the Head of Ministry of Magic, only one of her companion from that night was present as she sat with the Professors and watch the remaining students pour in.
Seeing her here again was the least of his expectation, it threw a lot of mix feelings in him as his eyes watches her with intent, never leaving her once, and everything else around of him is just blurred out and noises.
There was a point when their eyes briefly met, but that was so briefly that even he was not sure if it really met, and he questioned it in his mind, his eyes never once moved away from her. Every little movement, the expressions on her face, if she shows it.
When she was standing to leave, Draco had abruptly stood up as though he had wanted to follow after her, however it is when Draco saw the glaring eyes of another person, her companion, giving him a warning look, and that made him stop, frozen somewhat at where he stood as he watches them leave.
A few of his fellow housemates were puzzled at his actions, but someone else from another house, was more curious at his actions, and followed his line of vision. There was a moment of curiosity and puzzlement, but after which he seemed to have piece things together and a realisation of sort came to him.
Draco did not stay in the Hall, he left, and wandered the halls, and to the Room of Requirements then he turned and left even as the door was appearing. The Chamber of Secrets, which is not a place that he could easily access, not without her.
