In the Pokemon world lived a lonely boy named William. He had no friends or family, and only his first Pokemon Mudkip was with him. Then one day he found his way to Ephinea and he met Asbel Lhant. Soon the two of them became best friends, but when dark forces from the past and ancient secrets return to Ephinea can William and Asbel be able to save it or will it be lost.

8. Chapter 8

Hello everyone. I've been waiting to do this chapter for some time. And a little warning this chapter will get a little destructive and violent. Oh and a message to Justin originally I was planning to have a Crabominable for Malik's partner, but you made me think and I changed it. It's still not a Houndoom, but I think it will work, and you don't have to wait long cause he gets his partner in this chapter. Now here's chapter 8.

Chapter 8

The Serpent's Path

A day after the death of Archduke Cedric, Richard organized a grand parade for his coronation, and it held nothing back. The entire city was there throwing confetti at Richard who was riding on the back of a giant turtle, with Skarmory right next to him soldiers and more of the large turtles in front of him. The crowd waved and cheered as Richard passed them, wearing a large red cap with a fluff outline that covered his body.

Then after Richard finished the parade, he went to the castle and walked to the throne with Skaromy behind him and a clear path to the throne, and soldiers filling both sides of the room. There in the room the group was watching as Richard made it to the throne where a man in green priest robe waited, in the priest's hands was a crown in the shape of a green serpent that went around multi-color crystals.

Richard then kneeled down in front of the priest, and the priest placed the crown on Richard's head. Riched then got up and turned to the soldiers in the room. The soldiers and the group then kneeled before Richard. "Today I reclaim the illustrious throne of this glorious kingdom! From this day forth, our land will enter a new age of prosperity thanks to the power of Pokemon. May the wind of the Green Serpent guide our blades!" Richard said to everyone in the room. "May the wind of the Green Serpent guide our blades!" The soldiers in the room said to Richard. Richard then took his seat on the throne, with Skaromy standing next to him, and cracking a smile.

The rest of the day was a party in honor of King Richard and everyone, but the group had a blast. One thing bugged them, well most of them, what was going to happen to Lhant.

Then the next day was filled with meetings and talks about the effect Archduke Cedric had on the kingdom. And while most of the group wanted to talk about Lhant. They were allowed to. The only meeting they were allowed to attend was the meeting about the prisoners fate, but it didn't go so well for them. After a meeting about it, they returned to the room everyone else was waiting for them.

"Hey, you two are back! Soooo, are things gonna work out with the prisoners or what?" Pascal asked Asbel and William. Asbel just shook his head no. "You know, you could just ask Richard directly. Course he's all knight and stuff now, so that might be kinda tough." Pascal said to Asbel. Then as Absle started to think, a soldier walked into the room.

"Asbel Lhant! Sir William! His Majesty requires your presence in the throne room at once." the soldier said to Asbel and William. "Can we bring Yamper and Swampert?" William asked the soldier. "Yes" the soldier said to Wiliam. "Thank you. We'll be right there." Asbel said to the soldier. "This might be about the prisoners. We'll be back in a bit." Asbel said to everyone. "Come on Asbel. We can't keep the king waiting." William said to Asbel as he, Asbel, Yamper, and Swampert left the room.

Soon they made it to the throne room where they saw Richard in his normal clothes, with Duke Dalen to Richards' right, and Skarmory to Ricahrd's left, and a few soldiers in the room. The four of them then kneeled in front of Ricahrd.

"The punishment for those knights who sided against His Majesty has been decided. In his infinite mercy, the king has chosen to forego their execution. Insead we say do what Sir William suggested and strip them of everything they own, leaving them with nothing but shame." Dalen said to Asbel and William. "Asbel, William. I summoned you here for a different reason. I have reached a decision regarding the current situation in Lhant." Richard said to Asbel and William.

"You have?" Asbel asked Ricahrd. "And what is that my King?" William asked Richard. "The other day, we informed you that the Strahtan military has occupied Lhant's cryas mines. Because of this, our country's supply of cyrus is nearly exhausted. If this continues, it will be a serious blow to our country's economy and the lives of our citizens. Such thoughts are deeply painful to His Majesty, and so he has decided to take immediate action." Dalen said to Asbel and William.

"What kind of action?" Asbel asked Richard and Dalen. "We will invade Lhant." Richard said to Asbel. "What? You can't! You'll initiate an all-out war with Srahta! And the people of Lhant will be caught in the middle!" Asbel said to Richard and Dalen as he stood up. "We have sent numerous messages to the Strahtans ordering their withdrawal. But they continue to cower behind their meaningless alliance with Archduke Cedric. We have also heard rumors that the people of Lhant wish to break away and join Strahta permanently. That is nothing less than high treason against His majesty and his Kingdom." Dalen said to Asbel. (He's right Asbel. Strahta has turned Lhant into the enemy.) Skarmory said to Asbel.

"I agree sir." William said to Dalen as he stood up. "William are you okay with invading Lhant? It will start another war" Asbel asked William. "The Strahtan's have already started that war. If you won't leave peacefully then we must drive them out before they destroy our kingdom." William said to Asbel. "But what about the people of Lhant, they'll get swept up in the battle." Asbel said to William. "If they want to leave Windor and join Strahta then they can do it with nothing, but the clothes on their backs." William said to Asbel. "But they're just innocent people." Asbel said to William. "You say innocent I say traitors. And traitors must not be tolerated." William said to Asbel.

"I'm glad you feel that way William. I cannot forgive those who turn against me. We will drive Strahta, and all who support her from my lands. And you William will be the one leading my force for this attack." Ricahrd said to William. "It will be an honor to lead your forces." William said to Ricahrd, bowing. "You all can't be serious!" Asbel said to everyone.

"Once Lhant is back in Windor's hands. We have decided that you Asbel Lhant once again lead Lhant." Dalen said to Asbel. "Me?" Asbel asked Dalen. "Be thankful we're giving you this chance to redeem your honor and reclaim your homeland. I hope you will serve him well, when you reclaim your home." Dalen said to Asbel. "You asked my best friend to lead a fight against my own brother?! And my own people?! And you say I should be thankful." Asbel said tp Dalen, making Richard stand up.

"Tread carefully, Asbel Lhant. I rule this country now. I expect you to show the same kind of loyalty that William shows. Or would you defy your own king?" Richard asked Asbel as he moved away from his throne. "Richard." Asbel said to Ricahrd. Richard then moved back to his throne.

"Your Majesty… Will you at least send me to Lhant as an envoy?" Asbel asked Richard. "Do you really think you can convince Strahta to leave? As I remember, one of their commanders is your brother, and the very man who drove you out in the first place." Dalen said to Asbel. "He's right Asbel. Your brother didn't think twice before stabbing you in the back. And the people of Lhant are traitors. I doubt anything you say will change these facts." William said to Asbel. "The people of Lhant being traitors are just rumors William." Asbel said to William.

"Asbel, do not expect a different outcome just because you're related. Blood breeds hate as well as love. You need look no further than my late uncle to see this. You are no different. Your Brother has forced you to this position and you hate him for it." Richard said to Asbel. (Skarmoy how can you be okay with us attacking Asbel home?) Yamper asked Skarmory. (Simple. I'm the king's partner. That means I must protect him and his people. And right now Strahta is a threat to them.) Skarmory said to Yamper.

"Richard. I haven't given up on repairing my relationship with my brother. Please, I beg you: Give me one chance." Asbel said to Richard, kneeling again. "Asbel." William said to Asbel. "I will convince my brother to enter negotiations." Asbel asked Richard. "Very well. If this is your wish, I will give you the chance." Richard said to Asbel. Thank you, Your Highness." Asbel said to Richard, as he got up and dowed. "My King. Permission to follow Asbel, so I can pull him out of the fire when Hubert betrays Asbel again, or orders his men to attack us." William asked Richard.

"Granted. However, time is short. You two and your Pokemon are too leave for Lhant without delay." Richard said to Asbel and William. "Understood." William and Asbel said to Richard before leaving. "Your Majesty. Is this wise?" Dalen asked Ricahrd. "Asbel's such a kind man. It's the trait I love most in him. And William is a beacon of loyalty. I must take... good care of them. But first I need something from the secret tunnel. Heh heh heh…" Richard said cracking a wicked smile.

"Cheria, you got some explaining to do." William said as he and the others with him, walked into the room. "Wh-what is it?" Cheria said to William, with a nervous tune in her voice. "William relax." Asbel said to Cheria. "Cheria is it true that the people of Lhant want to secede from Windor and join Strahta?" Asbel asked Cheria. "Well, I did hear a few people suggest something like that." Cheria said to Asbel.

"Cheria, you have to listen to me. Our homeland is about to become a war zone. Richard is planning to invade Lhant. And to have William lead them." Asbel said to Cheria. "And I would already be marching those troops if Asbel didn't convince Richard of his foolies idea." William said to everyone. "No!" Cheria said to everyone. "I'm going back to Lhant. I have to convince Hubert to enter negotiations." Asbel said to Cheria. "And I'm going to pull him out of the fire, for when this all goes south." William said to Cheria.

"Well, I can't just sit around here. I'm coming with you." Cheria said to Asbel. "Why the best thing you do is sit and do nothing." William said to Cheria. "William what's your problem?" Asbel asked William. "My problem is that I have been the only one of us, that using our heads. And when I tell you that it's a bad idea, to go talk to a man that doesn't care about you, or to blindly trust a woman that does nothing for years. You ignore me and do it anyway." William said to Asbel.

"William. Hubert is my brother and Cheria is my friend." Asbel said to William. "Hubert betrayed you without a second thought. And Cheria never tried once to get you to come home or to see you." William said to Asbel. "Well what about you." Cheria said to William. "I was on another plant. I spent a year of my life training to be strong enough to fight by Asbel side. I then spent the next 6 years traveling, training, and looking for the way back. All the while you stayed home doing nothing." William said to Cheria.

William then sighed. "Look Asbel I'm just trying to look out for you. You seem to think that everything is like how it was when we were little kids, but thanks to your father and those monsters, those little kids are gone." William said to Asbel. "I hate to interrupt. But mind if I tag along as well?" A male voice said to everyone.

Everyone then turned to the door to see Malik walking in. "Captain Malik?" Asbel said to Malik. "Had you not interceded with Richard, the other knights and I would have been executed. I owe you a great debt, and this is a way to repay it." Malik said to Asbel. "It'll be an honor to have you at our side. Thank you, Captain Malik." Asbel said to Mailk. "Thank you, Captain." Sophie said to Malik, imitating Asbel. "Heh, I'm not a captain of anything anymore." Malik said to Sophie. "You'll always be Captain Malik to me." Asbel said to Malik. "Asbel…" Malik said to Asbel. "I think we're ready, let's head for Lhant." Asbel said to everyone.

"Wait." William said to everyone. "First. Pascal, Elgyem, you two down to join us on this stupid and crazy mission?" William asked Pascal. "Sure." Pascal said to William. (Okay.) Elgyem said to William. "Okay. and while I don't completely trust Malik, he still shouldn't be defence less when we enter enemy territory." William said to everyone as he pulled out Malik's sword. "We're going home William not into enemy territory." Asbel said to William, as Malik took back his sword. "Same thing. Now let's go." William said as he left the room. Everyone then looked at each other before following him.

A few minutes later everyone was on a boat. Heading towards Lhant. On the boat ride Asbel walked to the back with Yamper. Then Asbel noticed Malik in the back of the ship. "Captain, what are you doing out here?" Asbel asked Malik as he and Yamper walked towards Malik. "Just thinking back on my old life as a knight. On all the lives I've saved… and taken. It's quite a tally." Malik said to Asbel. "I'm sure it is." Asbel said to malik.

"I'm only now realizing that being a knight means taking more lives than saving them. Lives are more than numbers, of course, but many who I killed were fighting only to save someone else. And if I atone for my sins by protecting those whom they sought to save, It'll undoubtedly bring misfortune down on another. Such a vicious cycle. I wonder if we'll ever break free." Malik said to Asbel. "Do you think it's even possible?" Asbel asked Malik. "Who knows? But you didn't come out here to talk to me. What's troubling you Asbel?" Malik asked Asbel.

"It's William. I'm grateful he's back, but ever since he got back, he's been getting more violent and stressed. I don't know what to do." Asbel said to Malik. "Ah yes. I've seen this before." Malik said to Asbel. "You have?" Asbel asked Malik. "Yes. When I was young I had a group of friends like you and we did the best we could in everything we did. But there was this woman like William. She was brave, cleaver, and always put herself ahead of everyone else. William is doing the same thing. He's just trying to protect you, and when you decide to do something that he thinks is foolies then, he's going to give you a hard time about it." Malik said to Asbel.

"Did that woman give you a hard time?" Asbel asked malik. "You know it. I can still hear her saying that my ideas are terrible." Malik said to Asbel, cracking a smile. "What happened to her?" Asbel asked Malik. "She disappeared. She would always carry the weight of our group, this made her angry and act in a way that was not herself. But then we lost one of our friends and it broke her. She disappeared shortly after that." Malik said to Asbel. "Captain Malik." Asbel said to Malik.

"Asbel. Don't make my mistake. If William is a treasure friend. Then you should talk with him and work things out, before things get out of hand and before you lose him." Malik said to Asbel. "I will, but first I have to save Lhant." Asbel said to Malik before leaving. "This talk is not something that can wait." Malik said to Asbel, but Asbel was already gone. Malik then looked out over the sea remembering his past.

After some time the boat docked, and they got off. Then saw burn marks on the ground. "What made these?" Cheria asked everyone. They then followed the burn trail and noticed a small orange dog with a big fluffy tail, a big fluff of hair on the top of it's head, and a big fluff of hair on it's neck. It also had black lines on it's legs and back. "It's a Growlithe." William said as he pulled out his Pokedex and as Asbel pulled out the book

It has a brave and trustworthy nature. It fearlessly stands up to bigger and stronger foes.

"And it's a boy." William said to everyone, as he and Asbel put the book and Pokedex away. Then Growlithe noticed the group and moved towards them. (You look like a strong opponent.) Growlithe said to Swampert, shaking his tail. "What is he saying?" Sophie asked everyone. "I'm sure he's asking Swampert for a battle." Malik said to Sophie. (This guy gets me and he looks strong. I like him.) Growlithe said to everyone, as he nuzzled Malik's leg.

"I think he likes Malik." Pascal said to everyone. (Well I don't have time to give him his battle. We have work to do.) Swampert said to everyone, as he started to move. "He said not now." William said to everyone. as he went after Swampert. "I'm sure Swampert will be free later." Malik said to Growlithe. (Good. Swampert looks like an opponent that will be fun to fight.) Growlithe said to Malik, showing off his fangs. "You got fired. I like that." Malik said to Growlithe, as they all started to move, with Growlithe following Malik.

Soon they made it to the walls of Lhant. "The gate is closed." Pascal said to everyone, as they hid and noticed that the gate to Lhant was closed and had guards on it. "They'll open it if we ask. At least, they always have for me." Cheria said to everyone. "Yes, but Asbel is a different story. I think we should keep our distance." Malik said to Cheria. "And I didn't leave on the best trem. So if they see me they'll sound the alarms and we'll never get in." William said to everyone.

"So, Asbel? Can we be all sneaky sneaky and avoid the gate?" Pascal asked Asbel. "Well, let me think… I suppose we could head to the canal and just follow it inside." Asbel said as everyone turned to a small creek. "It will be a little wet, but probably our best bet." William said as they went into the creek.

They then followed the creek through the wall and made it to the other side. They stayed in the creek until they got near the manor. "Okay so let's break in." Pascal said as she pulled out her staff. "Wait Pascal. Let's not blow something up yet. Let's try subtle first." William said to Pascal. "How all the windows are locked?" Pascal asked William. "Not when we have someone who can teleport to the other side of the window. Ralts can you teleport inside, and open the window for us?" William said to Pascal and asked Ralts. (Sure.) Ralts said nodding her head, before teleporting. Soon the window opened with Ralts on the windowsill. "Good work Ralts." William said as they all entered the manor though the window.

Then as they all got into the manor, they heard the sound of a woman yelling. "For the hundredth time, we have no right to be here. You sign that blood treaty. And now we're all going to die because of it and your ego." The woman's voice yelled. "What was that?" Pascal asked everyone. "That must have been Lieutenant Moore." Cheria said to Pascal. "Sounds like she's mad." Pascal said to everyone. "You think come on." William said as they made their way to the office, where Alice yelling was coming from.

Soon everyone entered the office where Alice had her hands on the desk locking horns with Hubert, who was ignoring her, and it looked like the fight with William never happened, and Drizzile and Ducklett were sitting in the corner. "You should have let me-." Alice said to Hubert, but stopped when the two of them noticed the group walking in. "Well, this is unexpected. I don't remember seeing you on my calendar." Hubert said to everyone. "Well to bad you seeing us now." William said to Hubert.

"Hubert, we have to talk. I won't ask you to accept unconditional withdrawal, but let's at least sit down and negotiate." Asbel said to Hubert. "You're wasting your breath Asbel. I've been trying to convince him to talk with King Richard, but he refuses to." Alice said to Asbel. "Hubert Windor's supply of cyrus is dangerously low, and if it runs out, the citizens will be in trouble. Please, Hubert." Asbel said to Hubert. Hubert just shook his head. "Does Windor's new king really think that sending my brother will convince me to withdraw?" Hubert asked Asbel.

"No it was not, this was all Asbel's idea." William said to Hubert. "It was." Asbel said to Hubert. "Then you are naive." Hubert said to Asbel. "While it's true he's naive. But it's also true that you and your forces are here under false allegiance, that was signed in king's blood. Now leave or we will make you." William said to Hubert, as the sound of battle.

Then Raymond burst into the office. "Raymond what's going on out there?" Alice asked Raymond. "Lieutenants! It's an emergency! Windor's army is attacking! They've come with staggering numbers, and our forces have already been pushed back into town!" Raymond said to Alice and Hubert. "What?!" Asbel said to Raymond. "How could this have happened? I told you to be ready for an attack. How can they be over running us?" Alice asked Raymond. "Lieutenant Moore, they have a large number of these big black birds that are covered in grey armor. The birds easy went through us and allowed the Windor army to get into the town easily." Raymond said to Alice.

"What the hey? We came here STOP a war!" Pascal said to everyone. "I think Richard got tired of waiting." William said to Pascal. "So! You come to me under a flag of peace, but with an army at your back." Hubert said to everyone. "Don't like it when the shoes are on another foot." William said to Hubert. "No! That isn't why we came!" It's almost charming how badly you've underestimated me." Hubert said to Asbel. "Underestimated you? Listen to the battle, you're losing fast." William said to Hubert.

"He's right Hubert. We need to move. We can argue about Asbel movitations later." Alice said to Hubert. "Raymond. Order the troops into defensive formation! Hold Windor back, no matter what the cost!" Hubert said to Raymond. "Yes, sir!" Raymond said to Hubert before leaving. "Hubert, Please. I didn't know anything about this. You have to believe me!" Asbel said to Hubert.

"Then you're both a pawn and a fool." Hubert said to Asbel. Then Alice grabbed Hubert and slammed him against the deck. "Listen to me Hubert, we are under attack beacuse of your pride and stupid politics. So you can stay here and be nothing, but a source of trouble for all of us." Alice said to Hubert pushing him to the chair. "You brother wants to help. And all you do is insult him, so if you want to do nothing, but whine like the little kid you are, then stay here. I'm going out there." Alice said to Hubert before turning away from him.

"What do we do?" Cheria asked Alice. "Cheria I need you to go heal people. Asbel, William you two think you can stop this battle?" Alice said to everyone. "Maybe?" Asbel said to Alice. "Better than nothing. Everyone else try your best to hold them back. Let's move people." Alice said to everyone calipn her hands. Then everyone but her left the room. "Come on. You can be at least a little useful as a meat shield." Alice said to Hubert, as she picked him up and forced him out of the room, with Drizzile and Ducklett following her.

Soon Alice, Hubert, Drizzile, and Ducklett met up with everyone outside. There they saw these large birds. They looked like Skarmory only they had black neck rings, talons, tail, and eyes, and everything else was dark grey. "Those birds look like Skarmory." Pascal said to everyone. "They do, but something is wrong with them. They don't look like normal Skarmory, not even shiny Skarmory looks like this." William said to everyone. "So was your brother convinced?" A male voice asked.

Everyone then turned their heads to see Ricahrd walking towards them with Skarmory next to him. But something was different about Skarmory. Everything that was silver on Skarmory was now gold. And had the same black neck rings, talons, and tail, as the other Skarmory. "Richard what is going on? What happened to Skarmory?" William asked Richard, as he and Skarmory walked past the group.

"If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." Richard said, ignoring William's questions. "Richard, why are you doing this?" Asbel asked Richard. "I already told you… I was planning on attacking Lhant." Richard said to Asbel. "But you said I would lead the troops. So why attack early?" William asked Ricahrd. "It couldn't wait." Richard said to William. "What?" Asbel asked Ricahrd. "I'm doing this for you, Asbel. Remember when I promised to help you reclaim your homeland?" Richard said to Asbel.

(Skarmory, why are you doing this, and what happened to you?) Swampert asked Skarmory. (My friend said we attack this place. And I do what I must to protect and help my friend.) Skarmory said with a male voice. (You're not Skarmory. Who are you?) Swampert asked Skarmory, getting in a fighting position. (Such fire. Oh right where are my manners. My name is Agate.) Skarmory said to Swampert. (Agate? You can't mean the same thing like the words Lambda and Agate do you?) Swampert asked Skarmory. (Ah so you know about us. Make sense after all you know Protos Heis.) Skarmory said to Swampert, as he looked at Sophie

(You know Sophie. Just who are you?) Swampert asked Skarmory. (Wouldn't you like to know?) Skarmory said to Swampert. (William. Skarmory has been taken over by whatever Agate is. And I think maybe Lambda has taken over Richard. Which is why he's gone crazy. And they know about Sophie.) Sawmpert said to William. "Swampert I know Ricahrd has gone crazy, and something is wrong with Skarmory, but now's not the time to panic." William said to Swampert. Swampert then slapped his hand into his face.

"I never asked for this, Richard!" Asbel said to Ricahrd. "Oh, I know, but… I decided to do it anyway. The people of this land must understand that there will be no mercy for those who defy me." Richard said to Asbel. "No mercy… It seems like that's the only thing you ever talk about anymore. What you're doing is wrong." Asbel said to Ricahrd. "Richard you need to stop. This is getting out of hand fast." William said to Ricahrd.

"So be it, then. Before I proceed to deal with Lhant, It appears that I am going to have to deal with you two first." Richard said to Asbel and William. "Richard, we're friends, you don't want to do this." William said to Ricahrd. "I'm afraid you leave me no choice." Richard said to William, as he pulled out his sword.

"Cheria, Alice. Take the others, round up as many townspeople as you can, and get them to safety." Asbel said to Cheria. "Good idea Asbel. You heard him, Cheria let's get moving." Alice said to Cheria. "Hurry! While we're talking. Once the fighting starts, it'll be too late." Asbel said to Cheria. "All right Asbel. Come on Sophie. Let's go." Cheria said to Asbel and Sophie. "No. I'm staying!" Sophie said to Cheria. "Come on!" Cheria said as she pulled Sophie away, with Pascal helping her, and Alice, Malik, and their Pokemon following them. "Asbel! William! Asbel! William!" Sophie said as she and the others left.

"I will ask you both one more time, Asbel, William: What is it that I have done wrong? I thought that you of all people would always understand me." Richard said to Asbel and William. "True I understand that you are doing this to save your kingdom. But I also know you hate violence and would have waited until there was no other option before doing this." William said to Ricahrd.

"And you should know better. You can't control people through violence and fear. Nothing good ever comes of it. If that's the kind of ruler you are, then we'll never have true peace! Please Listen to me! Go back to the way you were!" Asbel said to Richard. "You're serious. How disappointing. Everyone has betrayed me. And in the end, even you two have!" Richard said as he raised his blade and whined started to gather around him. (Time so show you, who's in charge here.) Skarmory said as he his wings. Soon a handful shadow copied, that looked like the other Skarmorys in the air, appeared on the sides of Skarmory.

Then Richard with a mad look on his face pointed his sword at Hubert, and fired a blast of energy. At the same time the Skarmory copies charged at Hubert and Drizzile. Hubert and Drizzile tried to defend themselves, but Richards' blast was enough to knock Huberts weapons out of his hands, and the copies were able to use their heads to ram into Hubert and Drizzle dealing major damage. Asbel, William, Swampert, and Yamper were shocked to see Hubert on his knees.

"Hubert!" Asbel said as he ran to Huberts' side. "Is that really Richard? How… How can he be so strong? And what is up with that Pokemon?" Hubert asked William and Asbel. "No idea. And if we did why should we tell you." William said to Hubert. Then Ricahrd fired another blast. "Incoming." William said as he grabbed Drizzile and Asbel grabbed Hubert, and moved out of the way of Richards attack. "Now DIE!" Richard said to everyone, as he prepared another blast. "No! A female voice said to Richard.

Then Sophie and Golett, appeared out of nowhere and attacked Richard and Skarmory. (I see Protos Heis finally found a partner. Now let's see what you can do?) Skarmory said to Golett. "Begone!" Richard said to Sophie, as he and Skarmory pushed Sophie, and Golett back. "Sophie! Golett! Why did you two come back?" Asbel asked Sophie. "To protect you!" Sophie said to Asbel. (And I'm Sophie's partner.) Golett said to Asbel, before the two of them charged, at Richard and Skarmory.

Sophie blocked a few of Richards blasts, as Golett punched a few of the copies turning them to dust. "Looks like those copies can deal some damage, but can't take any." William said to Asbel, as Sophie jumped into the air. Sophie then landed in the water fountain, with Golett moving to Sophie's side. Sophie then started to glow white and white flames started to cover her fist. "There's that light… Just like before!" Asbel said as he looked at Sophie. "Before? When did this happen last time?" William asked Asbel, as lights started to come out of Hubert. "Not you again… How long do you plan to stand against me?!" Richard said to Sophie, before he fired another blast at Sophie.

Sophie then jumped up and dodged Richards attack, while Golett moved to the side to dodge Richard's attack. Sophie then landed on the other side of the yard. "Forever. This time I won't let them get hurt!" Sophie said to Ricahrd, as she and Golett charged at Richard and Skarmory. "Sophie… is your memory back?" Asbel said to Sophie. "I told you that she was our Sophie." William said to Asbel, as Richard and Skarmory charge at Sophie and Golett.

Then the two of them landed their attacks, but Richaard and Skarmory sent Sophie and Golett flying into the water fountains, breaking the fountains. (I was hoping for more of a challenge from you.) Skarmory said to Golett, as he and Richard moved closer to Sophie and Golett, who were on the ground in pain. 'No… It's happening… again…' Asbel thought remembering that day all those years ago.

"Yamper with me." Asbel said to Yamper as he left William, Hubert, Swampert, and Drizzile. (Okay.) Yamper said to Asbel, as he followed Asbel. "Asbel, Yamper, where are you two doing." William asked Asbel, as Richard and Skarmory got over Sophie and Golett. ("DIE!") Richard and Skarmory said, as they got ready to finish Sophie and Golett.

"NOOO!" Asbel said as came and tried to strike Richard. Richard dodged this and ran back a few feet. (Leave Golett alone. Thunder Fang.) Yamper said as his mouth filled up with sharp electrical points, and bit into Skarmory's neck. (Aaaah! Get off me.) Skarmory said as he shocked off Yamper. Yamper was then tossed into the air, lucky Yamper was flying in the duration of Asbel and Sophie, and Asble was able to catch Yamper. (Now where was I.) Skarmrory said as he looked for Golett, only to notice that he rolled over to Sophie's side. This made Skarmory growl a little and rushed to Richards' side.

Then Ricahrd stopped in the middle of the yard, while Hubert and Drizzle moved to Asbel's side. "You betrayed me… You… You BETRAYED ME!" Richard yelled as dark energy started to poor out of his body. Then William got in between Asbel and Ricahrd. "Guys stop. Minus Hubert. We're all friends here. We can work this out, by talking to each other. Not by stabbing and hurting each other." William said to everyone. "William chose your side." Richard said to William. "I can't choose, you all, Minus Hubert, are my friends." William said to everyone.

"Then get out of the way." Richard said as he charged. "William move." Sohpie said as she charged. "No I won't." William said to Sophie and Richard. Then as Sophie and Richard were about to strike each other, William used his spear to force Richards sword into the ground with the sharp end, then kicked Richard back. And pushed Sophie back with the flat end of his spear.

"We got to stop them." Asbel said to Hubert. "Right." Hubert said as he grabbed his weapons, and the two of them plus Yamper and Drizzile, charged at Sophie, William, and Richard. With Sophie and Richard focusing on fighting each other, while William was trying to stop them. (I won't allow you to hutt Lambda.) Skarmory said as he created more copies of himself, and made them attack Asbel, Hubert, Yamper Drizzile.

"Incoming." Hubert said to everyone. "Yamper uses Thunder Fang." Asbel said as he and Hubert dodged a few of the copies' attacks. (Okay.) Yamper said as he bit into one of the copies, at the same time as Asbel ran his sword through one. Meanwhile Hubert was blocking the attacks of one of the copies, and didn't notice another of the copies coming up from behind. (Sucker Punch.) Drizzile said as he moved quickly towards that copy that was about to strike Hubert from behind and punched it in the chest defeating it. Hubert then finished the copy he was fighting, and turned to Drizzile. "Thank you." Hubert said to Drizzile, before the two of them got back to the fight.

(Good now they're distracted. Now to deal with those two.) Skarmory said as he started to move towards Sophie and William. (Forget about us.) Swampert said as he and Golett came up and punched Skarmory, sending him flying into the air. (Avalanche.) Swampert said, as he started to glow blue, and a grey cloud appeared over Skarmory. Then ice rained down on Skarmory. But it did very little. (Okay now you've done it!) Skarmory said getting mad. (You talk too much. Shadow Punch.) Golett said to Skarmory, as he fired a shadow in the shape of a fist. Skarmory dodge the Shadow Punch and then charge at Swampert and Golett.

Back with William, Sophie, and Richard. "Guys stop this. After everything we have done you can't do this." William said as he pushed Sophie and Richard back. "Sophie, you helped us save Richard from Bryce when we were kids." William said to Sophie. "Richard we didn't care if you were a prince. You are friends first and a prince second." William said to Richard. "We fought side by side together. We made new friends. We are friends. I know things are crazy right now, but we can work this out." William said to Sophie and Richard.

"You all betrayed me." Richard said as he charged at William. "Move William. I must protect you and Asbel." Sophie said to William, as she charged. "I didn't betray you Richard. And fighting Richard is not protecting me Sophie." William said as he counted Ricahrd and Shophies attack, and elbowed Sophie in the chest with his right arm, and slammed his left knee into Richard's guts, forcing them back. Richard then fell to the ground. "Will you two just stop." William said to Richard and Sophie, as everyone else finished the copies, and as Skarmory, and Golett, returned to their partners' side, and as Swampert moved to Asbel's side.

"Y… You…" Richard said as he got up. Then Ricahrd yelled, releasing a large amount black and red energy. This surprised everyone. Then Sophe released a large amount of white and a small amount of other colors, energy. Then the two energies collided, with William still in the middle with his hands out trying to hold back the energy, but it wasn't working. "William." Asbel said as strong winds started to come from Sophie and Richard.

Soon the winds started to tear throughout the town. This causes most people to fall to the ground. While the gang gabed something to hang on to. Meanwhile Asbel, and Hubert were looking at Sophie with confused looks on their faces. While the Swampert, Drizzile, and Yamper, had concerned looks on their faces. Golett, and Skamroy had no reaction on their faces. But William had a look of frustration on his face. Then the energy of both Sophie and Richard started to sink into William Skin. Soon three lights started to glow out of William's bag, one green, another blue, and the last one red.

Then the three lights jumped out of William's bag. Soon a meteorite that was glowing green, a blue orb, and a red orb, appeared in front of William. The two ords and the meteorite turned to dust and entered Williams' skin. "I said SSSSSTTTTTOOOOOPPPPPP!" William yelled before he released a large green pillar of energy. This energy was stronger then both Sophie's and Richards, cause it snuffed out both of their energy and sent them flying into rock walls that were nearby, and making them fall hard onto the ground. This made Asbel, and everyone with him to run twods Sophie. While Dalen rushed to Richards' side.

"Your Majesty! You must withdraw!" Dalen said to Richard, helping him up. "No we all must withdraw. If he has the power I think he has then we are all dead. We all need to leave now." Richard said to Dalen. "Of course your majesty. All men, Fall back!" Dalen said as them and most of the troops ran.

Soon the sky turned grey with storm clouds, and winds that were stronger than the winds Sophie and Richard made, tore through the town, and this time the winds were tearing things apart.

Then something roared and everyone looked up to see a glowing giant green snake with two arms, three white claws on the hands of the arms, two groups of four square fins on its body, two square fins on the back of its arms, three acute triangle fins on the end of its tail, four horns on the side of it's head in the shape of an X, red fangs, black and yellow eyes, and yellow circles all over its body that were connected by yellow lines. Circling the energy William was making

"The Green Serpent." Asbel said as he looked at the serpent. (Rayquaza?!) Swampert said as he looked at the serpent. Then Rayguaza roared and started to glow. And change shape. Now Rayguaza's head and horn was in the shape of an arrow head with yellow strands, and circles coming from the end of them, and all his fins turned into acute triangles with points on them for the groups of four. And had a black body with 16 yellow circles on his body, 8 on each side, and split into four groups of two. (Mega Rayquaza?!) Swmpert said as Rayquaza went down and collided with William, making another large burst of winds.

Then the energy started to fade, but the storm still raged. When the energy faded, it revealed William with his body changed. William was now covered in green armor, with his legs becoming green, long and skinny, with points for feet, and fins like Mega Rayquaza on the base of his legs. His arms turned green with his fingers becoming white claws. His body was covered in green armor, with two acute triangles on his back. His head had two sides of a pyramid on the side of his head with blades on them. And on top of his head was the other two sides of the pyramid, with a yellow line across it, and two long sharp horns on the back of the pyramid.

Even William's spear changed to. His spear was now green and had a sharp point with four blades, that was in a spiral form, and had four strains of yellow fabric that had a few yellow circles on it. "Is that William?" Hubert asked Asbel. "I think?" Asbel said to William. (This can't be good.) Swampert said to everyone. "AAAAAAH!" William yelled, before the two sides of the pyramid on the sides on his face moved to connect with the rest of the pyramid. Then he suddenly took off running, at extremely high speed, leaving a gust of wind that was strong enough to knock Asbel, and everyone with him off their feet.

Then William appeared in the middle in town, surprising everyone, from both the speed WIlliam's was moving and his new look. "SOLDIERS OF WINDOR AND STRAHTA, YOU ALL WILL LEAVE NOW, OR FACE MY WRATH!" William said to everyone, his voice infused with the harsh wind. "You don't scare us." A Windor soldier said to William, as he and a few of the remaining Windor soldiers charged at William. "This town is ours. You can't give us orders." A Strahta soldier said as he and a few of Strahta soldiers charged at William.

"SO BE IT!" William voice in the wind said, before William disappeared and reappeared in front of every soldier that was charging at him. This made the soldiers stop in their tracks. Then William appeared in the spot he started in and slammed the base of his spear into the ground. Soon all the soldiers were hit with a powerful gust of wind sending them flying. "AAAAH!" All the soldiers yelled as they flew and crashed landed into various buildings and areas of Lhant.

This scared most of the people in Lhant. "We can't allow someone like this to live. Men kill him." Raymond said to a few of the Strahta soldiers. "Y...yes sir." A Strahta soldier said as he and a few others charged at William, with Raymond following behind them, and using the other soldiers as a shield and his dagger in hand. William just turned his head to the Strahta soldiers. But instead of moving, his spear started to spin. Then the violent winds started to spin around William forming a tornado, picking up all the soldiers that were charging at him, minus Raymond, and a handful of derby and rubble that filled the town.

"AAAAAAAH!" The Strahta soldiers yelled as they got tossed around in the tornado. Then William slammed the base of his spear onto the ground and the tornado stopped, but the winds still blew. "AAAAAAAH" The Strahta soldiers yelled as all fell to the ground. "AAAAAAAH" Some of the Strahta soldiers yelled as derby and rubble fell down onto them, breaking a few bones. William then turned his head to lock eyes with Raymond. "AAAAAAH!" Raymond yelled as he ran for his life. But then William disappeared and reappeared in front of Raymond.

Raymond then tried to stab William. But William grabbed Raymond's arm with the dagger in it. Then William started to squeeze Raymond's arm, forcing him to drop the dagger. Raymond tried to break free, but could do nothing. Then the sound of a cracking bone and Raymond screaming filled the air. At that point Raymond was in too much pain to resist, and William easily tossed him like a pic of trash. William then turned to the direction of the manor and instead of using his incredible speed, William walked. And every step a burst of wind would follow.

Back at the Manor the rest of the gang pulse Alice and Ducklett, run to Asbel, Hubert, Sophie, and the Pokemon with them. "Hubert what happened? And what is that thing that is tearing all of our troops apart?" Alice asked Hubert. "It's not a thing. It's William." Sophie said to Alice. "You mean that green thing with super crazy speed is William. So cool." Pascal said with an excited tone in her voice. "This is so not cool. William is tearing Lhant appart. A lot of people are getting hurt." Cheria said to Pascal.

"She's right, we must stop him." Hubert said to everyone as the sound of Raymond screaming filled the air. "I don't think we can." Alice said to Hubert. "Asbel. Do you have any idea how this could have happened to William?" Malik asked Asbel. "No. I don't." Asbel said to Malik. "We can figure what happened to William later. First we have to stop William." Alice said to everyone.

"Stopping him is not an option. We have to kill him." Hubert said to everyone. "What?! No! William may be out of control, but he's still our friend." Asbel said to Hubert. "Once again you are showing us that you are a fool. William is a danger to all of Lhant and is a monster. He must be put down." Hubert said to Asbel. "Asbel." Sophie said to Asbel, getting everyone's attention. Everyone then noticed that Sophie was in a fighting stance and was looking behind everyone.

They followed Sophie's eyes and noticed that she was looking at William who was standing at the edge of the yard. "You think he heard us?" Pascal asked everyone. But before anyone could answer her, William charged at the group, sending everyone and their weapons flying. Well all except one, Hubert. William had one of his hands on Hubert's neck and lifted him into the air. "A MONSTER AM I. THEN ALlOW ME TO SHOW YOU WHAT A MONSTER I AM!" Williams said with the wind to Hubert, before throwing him into the air.

Then William disappeared, and reappeared right where Hubert was going to be. William then Kick Hubert, sending him flying into the ground. They disappeared and reappeared right where Hubert was going to hit the ground, and kicked Hubert again. William then proceeded to do this throughout the town leaving the gang. "Hubert! William!" Asbel said as he noticed his sword to his side. Asbel then grabbed it and went after them. "Asbel don't go." Cheria said to Asbel, as she and everyone else went after Asbel.

Back in town. After William did a few more of his disappeared and reappeared kicks on Hubert, he kicked Hubert into a wall. Where he slides to the ground. Hubert, covered in bruises, then noticed William a few feet away from him. Then William started to move closer to Hubert. "William you don't want to do this. I can do a lot of things for you. I can give you money, power, anything, just please stop. We're friends right." Hubert said, trying to back up, even though he was against a wall.

William then let out a low growl and punched Hubert on Huberts right cheek. "WE'RE NOT FRIENDS. YOU KICKED OUT YOUR BROTHER. YOU TRIED TO TURN ME INTO A PRISONER AND WANTED TO KILL ME. YOU SIGN A TREATY WITH THE BLOOD OF RICHARD'S FATHER. AND IF I RECALLl I MADE YOU A PROMISE. THE NEXT TIME WE CROSS PATHS I WOULD SHOW YOU NO MERCY. WELL I GUESS IT'S TIME TO KEEP MY WORD." William said to Hubert, as the wind echoed his voice and got stronger.

"I was only doing what was best for Lhant." Hubert said to William. Making William punch Huberts right cheek again. "IT WAS NEVER FOR LHANT. EVERYTHING YOU DID WAS BECAUSE YOU FELT ABANDONED AND WANTED YOUR FATHER TO REGRET HIM CHOOSING ASBEL OVER YOU. THAT ALL IT'S EVER BEEN. WELL NOW YOU CAN ASK HIM WHEN YOU SEE HIM IN THE LAND OF THE DEAD!" William said to Hubert as the wind echoed his voice again, and got even stronger.

Then the two sides of the pyramid, with the blades on it, disconnected and moved to the sides of Williams' face. Hubert watched as black and purple energy started to gather in front of William's mouth. "PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!" Hubert yelled as he closed his eyes and put his arms over his head. But before William could launch his attack, Asbel came up from behind, and with his sword still in his sheath, placed it under Williams neck. Then Asbel jumped onto William's back, feet first, and pulled his sword back.

This forced Williams' attack to go into the sky. Hubert then opened his eyes to see Asbel forcing William back. "William. You got to stop." Asbel said to William, as he wrapped his left arm around William's neck, with his sword in his left hand. "ASBEL! STAY OUT OF THIS!" William said as he jumped into the air, and started to try and shake Asbel off. "No. I don't know what's going with you. But you're hurting my brother and people. So I got to stop you." Asbel said to William, as his fist on his right hand started to glow the same energy that Sophie was making.

Asbel then punched the yellow line on the pyramid that coved William's. Then William and Asbel were engulfed into a blind light. Then a wave of light burst out of light that engulfed Asbel and William, and cleared the sky of the gray clouds and died down the winds. Soon everything in the air fell to the ground, while the light of Asbel, and William, fell somewhere off in the distance.

"Their falling." Pascal said to everyone. Sophie then started to run. "Sophie where are you going?" Cheria said as everyone all followed her. On the way they ran past Hubert, and Alice grabbed Hubert and pulled one of his arms over her shoulder. "Your coming." Alice said to Hubert as she started to move, dragging Hubert a little bit.

Soon everyone made it to Lhant Hill. "Where are they?" Cheria asked everyone as they looked around. Then they heard something splashing around. "Found them." Pascal said to everyone, as they looked over the side of the hill. There in the water Asbel was fighting William, with Asbel's sword still in its sheath. But William looked different. He wasn't back in his normal look, but he wasn't in the same look that he was, when he beat the soldiers.

Williams' new form was similar to his old. With the major differences was that the fins on his back and legs were now just squares, the blades on the sides of his face were long fins, and his spear lost the yellow fabric on it.

"Why did you stop me?" William asked Asbel, as he used the stick part of his spear to push Asbel into the water, with his voice being normal, and not making the wind stronger or coming from the wind. Asbel then used his legs to kick William back. "I was protecting my brother and my people." Asbel said to William, as he used his sword to splash some water into William's face before tackling William. William then rolled over and was on top. "Why? Your brother stabbed you in the back. And your people don't care about you?" William asked Asbel, as Asbel rolled over and was on top.

"Cause I care about them. Even though it hurts that they don't want me. I'm still going to protect them." Asbel said to William. "You really think you can protect them." William said, kicking Asbel away. "You could never protect anyone. You couldn't protect Richard from that knight in the tower, you couldn't protect Lhant. And you couldn't protect us when we faced that monster, when we were kids." William said to Asbel, as he charged at Asbel and locked weapons with him.

"Your right I haven't done a good job at protecting the people I care about. But I spent 7 years getting stronger to do it. And I'll keep getting stronger until I achieve that goal." Asbel said to William, as they pushed each other back. "AND I SPENT 7 YEARS ALONE!" William yelled to Asbel, making Asbel lower his sword. "What?" Asbel asked William. "Do you know how hard it was for me these past 7 years. To wake from nightmares about that day. The pain I felt when I saw people and their friends having fun. All the time I spent at parties just thinking about how all of you would act." William said as he planted his spear into the water.

"I was forced back. I didn't get a choice. And when I finally get back, my friends are tearing each other appert." William said to Asbel, as Asbel noticed tears coming down William's face. "William." Asbel said to William. "First Hubert betrays you. Cheria, does nothing to help you. Sophie looks at us like we're strangers. And Richard has gone crazy. I can't take it anymore. I want the friends I made 7 years ago back. I want us to stop fighting. I want us to be happy." William said to Asbel, gripping his face under the pyramid.

"Is that why you're angry with Hubert and Cheria?" Asbel asked William. "Yes I'm mad at Hubert hurting you. I'm mad at Cheria for doing nothing to help you or even tried to see you." William said to Asbel. "What about attacking Lhant, why did you want to lead the charge?" Asbel asked William. "Cause I thought if I fixed the cyras problem Richard might calm down. And I wanted to hurt Hubert, like he hurt you. But then Ricahrd came and he and Sophie started to fight with the purpose to kill each other. And I just lost it." William said as he looked at the water, and saw his reflection and realized what he did.

"What have I done? What have I become?" William said as he dropped to his knees and stared at his reflection in the water. Asbel noticed Sophie walking to William, and looked up to see everyone still on the top. "Sophie how did you get down here?" Asbel asked Sophie. But Sophie didn't respond; she just placed a hand on Williams cheek and lifted his head to see Sophie's eyes. "William I remember you. I remember Asbel. Everyone. When you all were young." Sophie said to William. "What?" William said to Sophie.

"Hubert was shy… but he tried his best and always worried about everyone." Sophie said to William, surprising Hubert. "Cheria was sick… but that didn't stop her from being cheerful and friendly." Sophie said to William, surprising Cheria. "Asbel was strong and kind. He always protected me, no matter what we faced." Sophie said to William, surprising Asbel. "I remember when Swampert was little and was strong even though he was tiny." Sophie said to William, surprising Swampert. "And I remember you. You always put the others ahead of you, even got hurt doing your best to protect everyone." Sophie said to William, as she moved her hand to William's scare, over his left eye.

"It's good to see you. All of you." Sophie said everyone. Then Asbel put his sword and walked to William. "William. Why didn't you tell me that you were feeling all those feelings?" Asbel asked William. "Cause you lost your dad and your home. You need me to be strong. I had to put you first, my feelings second." William said to Asbel.

"I don't need you to be strong for me William. I need you to be my friend." Asbel said to William. kneeling in the water. "How can we be friends after everything?" William asked Asbel. "By taking it one step at the time, together. Now take my hand." Asbel said to William holding out his hand. Then William glowed a green light. Once the light faded William was back in his human form.

William then reaches out his hand to grab Asbel. But before he could William passed out and fell into the water. "WILLIAM!" Asbel yelled as he and Sophie rushed to Williams' side. "Hang on we'll be right down. Cheria hold him. I'll be right back." Alice said as she gave Hubert to Cheria, and ran back to Lhant.

A few minutes later Alice returned from Lhant with a lot of rope. And after some time, everyone was back on Lhant Hill. with Cheria and Alice looked at William, who was laying on the ground. And Hubert trying to stand on his own two legs.

"Alice, Cheria, is William going to be okay?" Asbel asked Alice and Cheria. "It looks like he's just unconscious. Whatever that power was must have taken the wind out of him. Pun not intended." Alice said to Asbel. "That's good to hear." Asbel said to Alice.

"Lieutenants! Are you alive?" Raymond asked Alice and Hubert, as he and a few Strahta soldiers came to them. With Raymond holding his broken arm. "Don't worry about us. What's the situation in town?" Hubert asked Raymond. "Most of Windor's army and King Richard left before that thing attacked. And the remaining Windor army and most of our troops are serious hurt." Raymond said to hubert.

"Deploy all the soldiers that are still standing to defend the gates immediately. Do not pursue Windor!" Hubert said to Raymond. "Yes, sir!" Raymond said to Hubert before Raymond and the soldiers left. "Alice I need you to go with me." Hubert said to Alice. "No." Alice said to Hubert. "What?" Hubert asked Alice. "Because of you. We all almost died." Alice said to Hubert. "It's not my fault. It was Williams. If he hadn't turned into whatever that thing. Then we would have been fine." Hubert said to Alice.

Alice then looked at Hubert with an angry look. "That's it. I've had it with you. You have been nothing, but trouble since I met you. And I'm done. I quit, and this is my two week notice." Alice said to Hubert, before she punched Hubert in the right eye, breaking his glasses and leaving a black eye, and forcing Hubert to the ground. "You can stay here and rot for all I care. Asbel a little help carrying William." Alice said to Hubert and Asked Asbel. "Sure." Asbel said to Alice, as he helped pick up William. Soon they all started to leave. Leaving Hubert alone, covered in bruises and had a black eye.

With the group. Asbel looked around at the destruction. "I failed to protect… anyone again." Asbel said with a sad tune in his voice. "That's not true. You protected me, Asbel. You saved me. Just like you did when you were a child." Sophie said to Asbel. Asbel then placed a free hand on Sophie's head, while they keeped moving. "I don't remember much. But still. I'm glad. And yet, I wonder why. I'm scared for some reason." Sophie said to Asbel, as Asbel removed her hand.

"I'm afraid to search deeper and remember my past…" Sophie said to Asbel. "Sophie…" Asbel said to Sophie. "And if you hadn't stopped William. Then things could have been a lot worse, after all. The only thing Raymond and Hubert did was make it worse." Alice said to Asbel. "You really think so Alice?" Asbel asked Alice. "Yeah. Despite what Hubert says. You're a good man. And that's more important than being cold and efficient like Hubert." Alice said to Asbel. "Thanks Alice." Asbel said to Alice. "No problem."
