Scarecrow's Facility, Jump City, CA.

BOOOM! The sound of the explosion rung throughout the building, signaling to Team A that Scarecrow officially knew that they were there and that they needed to hurry up, realizing that the communication jammers and toxin were too far apart for them to get to them both while staying together, so Booster Gold decided to split off from the group with Skeets to go collect some of the Toxin, leaving Blue Beetle and Speedy went for the jammers.

As the two teens made their way to their destination, they oddly carried on a conversation with little to no difficulty despite the situation. "Sooooooo, while we have the chance to talk I gotta ask, are you and Raquel a thing?"

Ted's usual shit-eating smirk was suddenly wiped from his face and replaced with a scowl as Roy looked at him strangely. "Unfortunately Harper, one can only wish as I fear that while she may show kindness to me, she will only have eyes for him."

"Damn, that situation is especially fucked when you remember to add Donna to the equation." Speedy said, feeling for Ted. "But hey, with him being out of town at the moment, she could change her mind about you, so don't count yourself out yet"

"Maybe, but enough about me, what about you and Queen?" Speedy looked at him strangely this time raising an eyebrow as Ted had never been interested in something like this before. "Before you ask, I made a bet with Todd on whether or not you two were gonna happen with 100 grand on the line."

Blue Beetle merely let out a small laugh as Roy eyed him with disappointment. "Y'know, I don't really take kindly to my friends making bets on my love life."

"I mean, we didn't bet on you two NOT getting together because it's inevitable whether it be romantically or sexually, we just betted on how long it would take."

"Yeah, that doesn't make me feel any better."

"Whatever, we're here." Ted said, turning for the communications room, "Alright, let's see what we got here shall we." Only for them to walk in to see a bunch of guards with their guns pointed directed at them.

"Shit." Roy exclaimed before both young heroes jumped out of the doorway, just barely dodging the ensuing gunfire, but just barely as a bullet gazed Ted's cheek and another tore right through Speedy's shoulder, causing him to grunt in pain as bullets whizzed by them.

"Shit indeed, my bow and arrow wielding friend!" Ted remarked, removing his blaster from it's holster and holding it to his chest as if he's about to peek around the corner to fire, "quick question, can you still use the bow and arrow with that shoulder? If so, I need to shoot an arrow in there as hard as you can!"

"What! Why? The second my arrow passes the threshold in that doorway, it'll be torn apart!"

"Precisely! If I can time how long it takes for them to destroy the arrow, I can figure out what type of guns they're using." Blue Beetle reasoned, as Roy reluctantly pulled an arrow from his pouch and let out another grunt of pain before he pulled back and aimed, Speedy took a deep breath as he let go and shot the arrow.

Almost immediately the arrow was shot apart, but now Ted had an idea on what type of firearms Scarecrow's men were using. w two decoys within the threshold of the door, all they have are AR-15s, which on average hold a maximum of thirty bullets per magazine and take fifthteen to twenty seconds to reload," Ted began to explain the game plan while Speedy put a patch on his arm to momentarily stop the bleeding, "so since there are about fifthteen men in there we have about twelve seconds to rush in there and take them all out, so the second they have to stop to reload I need you to shoot a Smoke Arrow to give us cover."

"Got it." Roy began to put on a tourniquet so no blood flow to his shoulder wound, as soon as he was done Ted had thrown the decoys and to be open and it took roughly about 3.37 seconds before the two teens heard the sound of clicking, Roy, taking this as a signal quickly rounded the corner and shot two smoke arrows on opposite sides of the room span of a second as Blue Beetle quickly rushed in behind him, taking advantage of the goons being distracted by the arrows and took the chance to blast two men with his Beetle Stun in the small time frame with normal vision as the smoke from the arrows was released, quickly filling the room.

At the same time, Speedy and Blue Beetle, turned on infrared vision within their respective masks, both taking a survey of the room, amidst the confusion the two young heroes noticed that there were at least thirteen men left with seven on Roy's side and six on Ted's, both teens look back at each other and nod before splitting up to separate sides of the room.

Decided that I wanted to take the stealthy approach, I took my time and studied my opponents' movements as I made my way toward them before they all got frantic because they heard a thud which I can only assume Roy caused.

"Well it sounds like he's having fun, if only he wasn't messing me up in the process." I thought to myself as carefully snuck behind one of the men, which thanks to my smaller stature was made very easy, but before attacking, I quickly upped the voltage on my blaster's stun mode to completely incapacitate him, but as I did so Roy decided to drop another body, causing the henchmen to be frantic once more and since the noise came from directly behind me, the guys on my side quickly began to shoot my general direction,

Luckily, I managed to get me and the guy I knocked out behind cover before any bullets hit us, as another piece of bad news I noticed that the smoke screen began to dissipate, "Goddammit Roy! Shit, now I'm even more of a rush than usual." I thought to myself as I checked the battery pack on my blaster, "Okay, I got about 73% left, if I conserve wisely and aim my shots precisely, I should have them enough power to last me the rest of the mission." I took in a very deep breath before I jumped out from the spot I was taking cover in and jumped into the middle at the five men that were still conscious.

When I landed, I purposely made sure I was loud when making contact with the ground to signal them of my location before immediately moving out of the way to avoid getting shot. Since the smoke was dissipating, the men were beginning to pick up on my movements, but since the smoke wasn't completely gone they were still having a hard time, which immediately told me that I couldn't move stealthily anymore and that I had to move fast and be quick on my feet.

Moving towards the closest goon, I swiftly slid under his legs, aimed my blaster at his abdomen and fired, since my blaster was at such a high voltage, I had to aim at their non-vital areas to avoid accidentally killing them, which was pretty hard to do when you didn't have the best aim in the world, I purposely let the guy's body drop to the ground and quickly moved out the way to gain the attention of the other four men to get them to shoot in the direction of their unconscious teammate and not at me as I was coming for them.

Moving as quickly as I could, I climbed and jumped off a counter to kick one guy in the head, effectively knocking him unconscious and shooting the other in the knee, causing him to shout in pain while grabbing his knee, leaving himself wide open for me sweep him off his feet and hit him with a clean uppercut, letting both the bodies drop to distract the last guy, I noticed that he somehow managed to escape my line of sight and before I even knew what was happening, I felt a bullet pierce my calf and get lodged in it, causing me to fall on the ground in pain.

Realizing that the last goon was likely behind me, I quickly flipped myself on my back to see the guy who shot me and there he was confirming my suspicions on his location, at this point the smoke had completely dissipated, so I was completely visible to him, while he slowly making his way towards me he quickly took out a small handgun, checked the clip in it, cocked it and then put it to my head and got ready to pull the trigger.

Okay so I know I'm probably an asshole for doing this... no no I'm definitely going to be an asshole for doing this and by this I mean purposely taking an aggressive approach while knowing full well that Ted is taking a stealthy one.

My body build being better than Ted's meant that I didn't have to move around as fast as he did, this doesn't mean I didn't know how to be stealthy, Ollie make sure of that, but it's just at the moment I don't feel like being stealthy and plus I just wanna fuck with Ted, is that so much to ask? But anyway, it wasn't long before I laid eyes on my first victim, before taking them out I decided to look on the other side of the room to see where Ted was, quickly hopping on a table that was directly behind the blue spandex cladded teen, grabbed a zip line arrow and watched a guy move until he turned to face my direction.

The second he did, I hastily aimed the arrow and drew the bow back and before he could get the chance to turn back around, I shot the arrow at him, hitting him directly in the shoulder and making sure that it went right through before pulling it back and yanking him towards me in the process all before the other men could even think about what the hell was happening, I saw him appear right in front of me before I quickly grabbed his head and slammed it into the table, instantly knocking him out and let his body fall to the floor, knowing full well that everyone in the room heard it.

A split second before I heard the clicks of guns, I immediately jumped off the table and out of dodge as Tim's guys started shooting at the table I was on, but unfortunately a stray bullet ricocheted off the table and hit one of my guys in the torso, I couldn't tell whether or not the bullet hit a vital area which told me that it was time to cut the bullshit and hurry up as I ran across the counter and hit another guy with my bow, knocking him down to the ground but not quite knocking him out.

At the same time I noticed that the smoke was dissipating and I was becoming more visible to them and so I quickly decided to speed up fighting process, quickly moving on to my fourth guy, who had managed to get his sights on me and was ready to pull the trigger before I, out of an instinct, quickly broke his leg with my bow via hitting it as hard as I could with it, he yelled out in pain before I kicked him in the chest into his fellow goon, behaving like I expected them to, the other goon pushed his injured friend to the side and into the counter and quickly turned to aim at me before I shot an arrow into the barrel of the gun as he was pulling the trigger.

Causing the barrel to implode on itself and sending the goon flying to finally land on his back with a loud groan, thinking that I didn't notice him, the guy that I knocked down behind me trying to sneak up attack me, but unfortunately for him, I noticed and as he went in for the punch, I grabbed an arrow from my quiver and stuck it to his leg as I punched him in the face, what does the arrow do? Why it covers it's target in foam of course.

As I shot another foam arrow at the sixth guy, the seventh managed to successfully sneak up on me and jumped off of the counter and onto my back, being doing that wasn't the smartest decision as I grabbed his clothes and flip them over me and onto his back to to finish the "fight" by knocking him out via an elbow to the face.

By this time the smoke had completely dissipated and I looked over to Ted's side of the room to see a guy had a gun to his head, once again thinking on instinct, I quickly pulled a throwing knife from the holster on my leg and through it at his hand, once it successfully hit it's target, I quickly shot an boxing glove arrow at his face causing him to stumble back as I ran across the room jumped off of the table in the middle and kicked him in the chest causing him to start wheezing for air, before he could get the chance to grab the handgun, I swiftly knocked him upside the head with my bow, knocking him out.

Turning around to check Blue Beetle's condition, Speedy noticed that the teen had a bullet wound in his leg, specifically in his thigh as he walked over to help, Ted quickly thought and decided to cauterize his would to save them time because they were no doubt more men on the way, but that didn't stop Roy from questioning his decision but before he could open his mouth, Ted was already talking. "Don't even say it Harper, because I already know that's the outcome of me deciding to cauterize the wound before the bullet is even removed, but we're running low on time before more men show up and I haven't even begun to disable the jammers, now go secure the entrance and check on that guy who's currently bleeding out."

He spoke as he walked over to the console with a visible lump on his way, as the screen turned on Ted immediately began plugging in lots of devices of sorts of which one can only assume he was using to help himself hack his way in. Roy however, made his way over to the guy who was hit with a straight bullet, luckily, the bullet didn't hit any vital organs, but although he was bleeding out a lot quicker than he should have been, so Roy decided to cauterize the wound, after he tied the guy up of course.

Once that was done, Roy looked over to Ted to see that he was still working on the console, making his way into the hallway, Speedy shot 2 motion detection arrows on either side of the corridors as a heads up warning just in case more men actually started showing up.

"How long until the jammers are completely disabled?" He asked,

"Not too long, I have about five firewalls to break through before I'm completely in the system, but in the meantime, radio Michael or Skeets to check their position, if they're on their way back to us, then you go ahead and back up Robin, Batgirl, and Ravager."

As Speedy began radioing Booster Gold, the blonde strangely didn't answer, when he called out again, once again there was nothing but static, so when he called for the third and final time he heard a voice that he was not expecting to hear on the other end.

"Hello Brat, as you can probably figure out, I've captured your friends and if you want them to keep breathing, I would suggest you and Blue Beetle get down here and surrender." Roy was shocked, he looked behind him to see that Ted was giving the same reaction, also even though Scarecrow's threatened us to surrender that only motivated Ted to hack the jammer faster as he began getting tapping away even faster than you was before and not even five seconds later, he was in.

"Alright consider, the Jammers down." he spoke confidently, like he had some kind of plan in mind. "Now let's get down there."

"We can't surrender ourselves to Scarecrow! He's still going to kill us all no matter what, us surrendering is just going to make his job easier." the Redhead detested. "We need to come up with a plan of some sort."

"Well for one, don't you think I know what he's going to do if we surrender ourselves? That's why I quickened my hacking process, although since we were in a rush, I could only disable the communication jammers for a very small window of time." He said as the pair began running to Scarecrow's location, "with the exact amount of time available only being 10 minutes, but hopefully it's enough time for the mayor to call and reinforcements."

"To add on, I'm offended that you didn't think I had a plan or a backup plan for that matter, just in case the city's reinforcements don't get here beforehand we get killed, then He will, we just have to stall for time."

"Well all right then, I guess you did have a plan, but hopefully the calvary can arrive BEFORE we get bullets in our heads."

"Given that you still have that confused pup look on your face, I can tell you're still not convinced that I have a concrete plan in mind of which I have to admit that it's not very concrete at all," Ted looked at him and then looked at his tablet that appears to have a big yellow dot in the middle of a map of what seemed to be the United States, which let Roy to believe that he was tracking someone. "And to tell you the truth I'm not sure if he can get here in time, that's why we need to stall for time. He has our location so he knows where to go and if we're lucky he thought to call her ahead of time."

"All right then, what do we do to stall for time?" Speedy asked in genuine curiosity.

"Easy! We just don't surrender ourselves willingly and make him come get us." Ted answered, pulling out both of his blasters, but not before trying to hack into skeets. "I get the sense that Scarecrow is a sadistic prick, so I figured that he'd probably want to capture us all, so that we all can experience the same punishment together, y'know, make us watch our friends go insane from his toxin in fear of knowing that the same thing is going to happen to us sooner than we would like."

"So like any other generic crazy super villain?"

"Exactly!" And with that the duo went off to go fight an unwinnable fight, although they did not go down easy, they still went down.
