"It has been a dark three months since Primal Kyogre has submerged most of the world under the sea" A news reporter had claimed in a shelter for those who were able to survive"We are losing hope, The champion and Elite four were too quickly defeated by Kyogre"There was a weak television signal so not many would receive the news "Please if anyone is left out there come to Mount Chimney, the heat has slowed down the climb of sea levels as well as giving us heat from cold"
Light suddenly appeared for Zinnia inside a plane, She seemed to be laying in a bed with a warm, wet towel on her forehead that fell onto her head when she sat up.
"Oh good, you're awake, I found you three washed up on an island three months ago, You're the first to wake up.
"Three? Oh, Leaf and May! Leaf might be the only one who will be able to control Kyogre"
"So he's something special, huh?"
"No kidding" Zinnia said looking for her friend seeing him lying down on a bed like Zinnia once did. She took off his glove the find the Blue orb wasn't there.
"Wait, what happened? Where's the Blue Orb?"
"Well, I'll be honest, I don't know what that is, but when I found you all you were laying on a beach with broken Submarine parts by your bodies"
"Are we in the air? Where are we?"
"Well, Truth is the plane was caught in a heavy storm and crashed on the island I found you on, I haven't been able to find a way back to society."
"That bad...And it's been three months, I didn't think we'd be unconscious this long"
"What happened to you three anyway?"
"Archie, he tried to awaken Kyogre, my guess is Leaf wasn't able to control it leaving us stranded here"
"Well I wouldn't say Stranded more of just trapped on a deserted island"
"That's what Stranded means!"
"Well excuse me for trying to make you feel better" A few slight moans came from behind Zinnia as Leaf and May woke up looking at their new surroundings. May was confused.
" What's going on, where are we?"
"Oh, you two are awake as well, Well, you see Kyogre has flooded most of the world, I was flying the plane back to the Unova region when a sudden storm caused me to crash-land here and find you three unconscious. It's been about three months since then"
"You mean...We've been asleep for three months?" May asked looking to Leaf who was more directed to his hand. The orb was gone. There wasn't any more hope. However his eyes were different, one was the usual emerald-green while the left one was Red like Kyogre's
"Leaf, Your eye? Could it be that despite losing the orb you're still spiritually linked?"
"My eye? What's wrong with my eye?"
"Look for yourself, Quite unusual eyes" The one who had been watching over them gave him a hand mirror showing his face with Kyogre's eye.
"How are we supposed to get out of here?"May asked looking scared" Wait, you have your Dragon Pokémon!"
"Nope, their Pokéballs were fractured so I can't open them until I switch out the Pokéball."
"What about the Eon flute?"
"Lost at Sea, I don't have my bag"
"So we're stuck here?"
"I didn't say that, you did" She pulled out her Pokégear from her belt.
"But, your Pokégear? I saw it get destroyed!"
"Oh, that old thing! I must have left it at Team Aqua's headquarters, it was just my extra in case anything happened to this one. She powered it own flicking the screen once" Ah there you are, hope you're not busy" She tapped it with a little jingle playing
"Hello? What do you want Zinnia"
"Well, It just so happens that I'm stuck on an Island, there are three others with me"
"Seriously? You've been away for two years, and you finally decide to call for a rescue...You know what, I'm not in the mood to question it, I'll be there in a bit" You could hear a loud yawn on the other end, even May and Leaf could.
"Who was that?"
"My brother, I told you didn't I, I'm a Draconid"
"You have a brother?"
"Older brother, His name's Dorako"
"How bad is it outside?" May asked stretching after the three-month sleep, It was clear to see that she felt brittle.
"Look for yourself, It's pretty bad" She lifted a curtain to show heavy storms with overpowering waves crashing into the Island. Had the world come to this? Leaf had taken it harder than the others as he fell to the ground. His Right eye shedding a stream of tears while Kyogre's eye stayed the same
"Leaf! What's wrong?" May ran to his aid seeing the tears drop to the floor, one after the other.
"I-I'm sorry! I should have been stronger!" He punched the floor sobbing. There was nothing that could be said. Sure it was his fault, but no child could handle that much stress, even so, there was no way he could make the right decision, either way, people got hurt and it hurt him just as bad.
"Leaf..."
"Don't, it's too soon, it seems like he's been through a lot as it is... I think he just needs to be alone for a bit"The woman had said leaving the room. May nodded following behind to leave Leaf to think.
" Hey, you wouldn't happen to know how to make Tea, would you?" The woman asked getting Teabags and cups out of a pantry" I think a nice, warm cup of tea should help until Dorako gets here"
"Yeah, you're right...Er...What's your name?"
"Oh me? I'm Skyla, a pilot from Unova, I also happen to be a Gym Leader"
"Oh really!? I had no idea, maybe I'll come to challenge you sometime"
"Hopefully after the world is back to normal" She tossed up a Pokéball with a Ducklett inside letting it up on the counter"Heat up some water for me, kay?"
It nodded as Skyla set up a pot over some logs and then Ducklett released a weak scald attack putting boiling water inside"Unfortunately, the power was knocked out a while ago so We had to make with what we had, Pokémon power"
"I understand"
"Good, do you have a fire-type Pokémon?"
"Yes...But my Pokéballs were fractured, all of ours were, we can't open them until we replace the Pokéballs"
"That's fine, I have Talonflame"She tossed up a second Pokéball with the fire-bird coming out" Use ember for me"It fired an Ember attack on the firewood starting a small, controllable fire.
"What's your problem? So what you made a mistake, big deal!" Zinnia said sternly to Leaf.
"Shut up" That was a first, Normally Leaf hadn't said anything ill-mannered to anyone, not even in his thoughts. The Kyogre ordeal had struck him deeply.
"Did you seriously...Tell me to shut up? You're finally going to stop being innocent!"
"I said...Shut up!" He glared daggers with his right eye now a dark red like his left one
"Zinnia! Cut it out!" May said pulling her into the other room by her arm"What are you doing!? He'll pulverize you!"
"Please, he has a strong aura that boosts his Pokémon's power, he isn't as strong physically"
"You didn't see him in the cavern, The strong one who almost captured us when they first took Leaf. He was able to stop a punch from him when he got mad"
"You're kidding"
"No, while he was trying to link to Kyogre, we got attacked and they started beating Norman to cause a reaction to summon Kyogre, Instead Leaf gained enough strength to stop him. I think it's only when he's just linked to Kyogre, he doesn't have control over his power."
"I never thought it was that bad, I just figured you meant he wasn't afraid to attack"She glanced back to Leaf seeing his right eye was green again." It looks like certain emotions trigger how strong the spiritual link is"
"Well, we all seem to be stressed at the moment, How 'bout we enjoy some tea?" Skyla said giving a Teacup with steaming Tea to the others.
"Thanks..." Leaf reached for his Pokéballs, they were fractured unable to be opened"Oh...Sorry guys I'll get you out as soon as I can"He said then blowing on the cup to cool down the tea before starting to drink it.
"Is it good? It's my grandmother's recipe"
"It's really good!" May said first, stars in her eyes.
"Normally I'm not much of a Tea-Drinker, but this is delicious!"Zinnia said after
" What do you say?"
Leaf continued to quietly sip his tea without a word. Although It seemed like he felt better, his left eye lightened into a purple to show balance and tranquility.
Flapping and strong winds were heard outside as well as shouts and calls.
"Calm down Flygon! It's okay!" A voice cried loudly with a boy falling through wood planks that were placed to protect them from the weather.
"Ow...Oh, hey Zinnia, long time no see" He chuckled looking embarrassed
"Oh no! are you alright?"Skyla asked
" Oh yeah, I've been through worse landings than that, Flygon's a great friend, but it's quite fickle and easily startled."He explained wiping water off of his clothes and cloak "I'm Dorako, and you are?"
"Name's Skyla"
"I'm May"
"And you?" Dorako looked towards Leaf as he quietly drank his tea"Don't talk?"
"That's Leaf, he's...Gone through a lot"
"Heterochromia, I've heard of it, but I've never actually seen it before"
"That's not it, you see, He was the one with the Blue Orb, however, it was stripped from him. Somehow he's still linked to Kyogre"
"So you finally found them, took you long enough"
"Oh yeah, sorry forgot to tell you guys, but to be fair, when I did find him, protecting him was more important."
"You've got a point, Not concerned about why, after all, in the village, you're still one of the weakest."
"She's weak!? She seemed so strong to me" May looked surprised.
"Well, you're probably weak as well," He said with another yawn not seeming to care too much.
"C'mon, We haven't seen each other in so long, do you have to make fun of me, at least I'm not too scared to show my face"
"There's no reason to, so it's just a waste of energy"
"C'mon, don't be such a party pooper!" Zinnia went for the hood with her wrist being blocked without him even looking back.
"That was incredibly fast, he reacted with perfect timing. Just who is this kid?" May looked puzzled"And if he didn't care then why did he stop her," She thought to herself
"Why have you been so negative to me, you've been like this since before I left!"
"That doesn't matter, let's get a move on" A fast subject-change, he was the strange one, even so, his strength and reflexes were no laughing matter. Dorako threw out four Pokéballs with flying dragons coming out, Altaria, Dragonite, Noivern, and Charizard.
"Wait, I thought Charizard wasn't a dragon type" May pointed out
"They aren't, just because they aren't a Dragon-Type, that doesn't mean they aren't dragons." Zinnia then explained climbing onto Charizard, May climbed on Dragonite, and Leaf boarded Altaria. Skyla then mounted Noivern stroking the top of its head as it let out a joyful cry.
The flight itself was fairly quiet, there wasn't any speech or noises except the storm and the Pokémon's wings, It was fairly peaceful, Leaf, strangely enough, fell asleep with his head resting on the back of Altaria.
"Zinnia...Who...No, what is Leaf"Dorako asked with Flygon inching closer to Charizard.
" What are you talking about?"
"The Orb, whenever the host of the Red or Blue orb loses their orb, it will cause for the link to be permanently severed, how is he still connected?"
"Can't help ya there, he's a mystery, could be that he's just special"
"That doesn't help"
"I'm saying, there are heartless people in this world, Sometimes the world has to create people like Leaf to balance the world."
"Do you really believe that?"
"Do you have any other theories?"
"Touché" He looked slightly annoyed knowing he didn't have anything to combat it.
"Did you end up hatching your egg?"
"Of course I did, It hatched into a Goomy
shortly after you left to find the Blue Orb, now it's a Goodra"
"I see, I ended up getting a Bagon"
"Salamance is a good Pokémon, but we're almost at Mt. Chimney"
"Right!" The Dragons would then begin to lower towards the Volcano seeing a multitude of tents set up with a few hundred people glancing up towards the dragons. five people specifically ran through the crowd rushing to greet the people. Leaf's mother and father, as well as May's mother, father, and brother.
"We're so glad you're okay!" Leaf was abruptly awoken being tightly squeezed by his mother's hug. She was quite the fierce woman, it's thought to be surprising that Leaf didn't inherit her short-temper.
"Mom, Dad...I'm fine" His eyes opened to show a light purple eye and the normal green one.
"What happened to your eyes!?"
"Mrs. and Mr. Tolomah, it appears that despite losing the orb, he's still spiritually linked, there might still be a way to seal away Kyogre." She took a pause" His eyes are just one of his own and the eye of Kyogre's, I'm willing to bet that Kyogre has the effect as well"
"I want to help, "A familiar deep voice said to them.
" Y-you!? Stay back!"Zinnia said in a defensive position while Leaf gave a deadly glare, his eyes reddening quickly.
"I don't want to fight you, I'm Matt, the past three months have taught me that I can be a good person if I try" He seemed to be calmer with a sweater vest on and glasses.
"He's telling the truth, his words don't have any maliciousness"
"And who might you be?"
"That...Doesn't matter, just know that if you act up, I'll have no choice but to defeat you" You could see the crimson Draconid eyes shine from under the hood as he gave a glare.
"I promise, I'm here to help"
"Good, then you won't have to worry about me" He turned away returning his Pokémon to their Pokéballs.
"Jeez, that kid scares me" Matt whispered to Zinnia
"No kidding, that's my brother"
