Summary: Luh-Loyd loves babies!

Author's Notes: Gift-fic for Sunny Lighter, of course!
Sunny Lighter, story prompt: "I bet Luh-Loyd loves babies, which would be sad that for most of his childhood mothers probably clutched their babies to themselves and hurried away from him when they saw him coming. As the Green Ninja and now, he gets to coo over all the babies he wants."

It's not cool. It's so not cool at all. It's like the opposite of what nearly any teenager thinks of as cool.
Lloyd absolutely adores babies. He desperately wants to be a dad someday, or at least an awesome uncle ALWAYS up to stealing the kids away!
But it's so not cool. Not that he really cares about that part, but he allowed himself to cling to the idea whenever a mother ran away from him, clutching her baby close to protect them from the evil Son Of Garmadon.
But that all changed after the Meowthra situation. Because the Green Ninja is basically a superhero, even if he didn't have flashy elemental powers like the rest. (As far as the public knew, anyway.)
And it's perfectly okay for superheroes to love babies.
Unfortunately, it also totally looks like a political move. Which is kind of disgusting and brings us back to uncool.
Lloyd sighed and closed the news app on his phone. Why did he even look? Oh, yeah, he's the leader of the Ninja Force and thus HAS to be aware of current events.
But he still shouldn't have clicked on the obviously negative op-ed with a photo of himself literally kissing a baby on the cheek as the clickbait.
Most of the comments probably would've been blasting the author if he'd bothered to scroll down, but it still hurt. It still hurt that some citizens of Ninjago distrusted every little thing he did. ALWAYS suspected he had some sort of agenda. And probably always would.
So, what? He wasn't allowed to kiss babies anymore? Could he even hold them? What if-?
"Lloyd Garmadon!" cheerfully called out a lady from across the street. It was actually the mother he'd helped out the other day - the mother of the baby he'd been photographed kissing. "Can you help me out?"
Lloyd hurried over, because of COURSE the answer would always be yes to that particular question. The woman had a mountain of groceries in her cart and was trying to juggle her baby, diaper bag, and the keys to her car.
Before Lloyd could take her bag or start loading her groceries or something, he found little Lily from yesterday passed into his arms. The sweet little baby girl babbled and patted his face with her hands.
"Oh, thank goodness! I'll take care of this, then I've got to hop into that next shop for just a couple things! Shouldn't take more than three minutes!" chattered the mom, Amanda?, popping the trunk of her car and shoving in her bag and all her groceries with almost supernatural speed. "Thanks, dear! You're the best!" And she popped her own kiss on Lloyd's cheek and rushed into the small shop next to the grocery store, leaving him standing next to her car, trunk still open, holding little Lily.
He looked down. She looked up. Lloyd's heart melted and, without even thinking, he pressed the little girl close to his chest and nuzzled her soft hair.
"Loy! Geen Nin!" cheered Lily, and there went anything left of his heart.
Whatever. He loved babies. Who cares if anyone knew or believed it or what.
He'd give Amanda his cell number when she got back. She'd probably be open to a free babysitter now and then.

Author's Notes: Hope you all enjoyed the fluff! It just seemed such a Lloyd thing to melt over a baby and get a kiss on the cheek from a grateful mom!
If you're curious how Lloyd babysits with the constant possibility of having to run off for Ninja duty at any time, it's actually pretty simple. He babysits only when his mom or the child's mom can still be around, then she can take over (and probably has) if he gets called in.
Also, fun fact! It's 'almost' canon that Luh-Loyd adores babies! Remember that awesome hand to hand scene with the baby in the movie's deleted scenes?
