Donna paced by the phone. "Is he not going to call? Did I do something to scare him off?" She sighed. "Am I overreacting here?"

"Donna, he'll call," Kelly assured her. "Wait, how did you leave things yesterday?"

Donna shrug. "I don't know. He just told me to leave.. something doesn't feel right. What if he was forced to get rid of me?"

Kelly just glanced at her like she was crazy. "Forced? Did he have a gun to his head? Was anyone else there?"

Donna rubbed her forehead. "I don't know.. I can't remember.. But something stopped him from calling. Should I call the hospital and the police station?"

"Chill. He's probably at work right now at the After Dark, remember there? He's a bartender." Kelly reminded her. "He owns the club?"

Donna took a deep breath. "You're right, maybe I'm just overreacting."

"Maybe so. Just relax, okay?" Kelly pulled out her cell phone, then went into the other room to make a phone call.

The phone rang and Donna quickly grabbed it. "Noah?"

"Nice to hear from you too," a familiar voice spoke up.

She gasped. "Um... who is this?"

"Don't you remember? It's Ray.. Ray Pruitt? Ring a bell?"

Her eyes widened. "That's who I thought.. listen.. I need to keep this line open, expecting an important call."

"Donna, wait a moment.. I'll be in Beverly Hills this weekend and I was hoping we could meet up?"

She hesitated. "I have a boyfriend now.."

Brenda had left earlier to go see Dylan. Now she was walking with him on the beach. "I love it here. This is my favorite place to come, because it's so relaxing.. you know?"

Dylan nodded in agreement. "I know."

She found herself a place to sit in the sand. "I got pregnant in London," she confessed. "But I couldn't have a baby.."

"Did you get an abortion?" He asked.

She shook her head. "I had a little girl and I gave her up. I couldn't kill her.. the baby didn't ask to be born..."

"And Josh...?"

"I didn't tell him. Why would I? I didn't even know him." She glanced towards the ocean, watching the waves crash against the shore. Then she slid closer to him and laid her head against his shoulder. "Where do you see this relationship heading?" She asked softly.

He thought a moment. "I'm not sure," he confessed. "Maybe we will get married one day, have kids. I'm not sure though, Bren."

"You told him what?!" Kelly asked.

Donna shrug. "I just said that I would think about it," she defended herself.

Kelly sighed. "But what about Noah? You know how much he loves you."

Donna shook her head. "Actually I don't. He hasn't called or came by once since we got back. And he snapped at me last night when I tried to talk to him."

Kelly sighed. "But Ray? You remember Ray, right? He used to hit you."

Donna shrug. "Maybe he changed."

"Maybe he hasn't," Kelly countered.

The van parked on side of the road. Charlie jumped out of the drivers side.

"Why are we here, Charlie?" Josh asked getting out.

"Ask him," Charlie said. "You remember this stretch of road, right Noah?"

Noah glared at him. "Yeah, so?"

Charlie walked over to the rail, and glanced over it. "So? Care to tell us what happened that night?"

Noah shook his head. "I don't want to talk about it. I don't even want to think about it!"

Charlie frowned. "I'll make my own assumptions then. You was probably drinking. How much? Was it four or five? Whiskey or beer?"

Noah shrug. "Can't remember."

"And you say you lost control of the car, right?" Charlie walked back over to him. "Come on, what else happened that night?" He shoved him against the van. "You left her there to die, right?!"

Noah shook his head. "No! I... I waited.. I begged for someone to stop and help her... I.." he trailed off. How much did he have to drink that night? "I wanted someone to save her.."

The tires made an awful screeching sound as the car came to a halt near the edge of the cliff. Beth had her head lying against the passenger side window.

Noah tried to calm his breathing down. He had hit his head against the steering wheel, so there would probably be a bruise there later. "You alright, Beth?" He asked, but she didn't answer. "Beth?" He shakenly felt her neck for a pulse. There wasn't one.

"Beth?!" He tried again. This was a back road, so there wasn't much traffic. He pulled out his phone to dial 911, but there was no service. He got out of the car, then walked over to her side.

He pulled her out of the car. "Don't worry, Beth. I.. I'm going to get you help..." He knew she was already dead, probably died on impact, but his head didn't believe it. Maybe if he got her help, then she would be okay..

Noah kept his gaze on the ground. "I hate myself for Beth's death, but I can't change what happened. It should have been me who died that night instead of her."

"Something we both agree on," Charlie mumbled.

"If I could go back in time I would. I would have worked with my father, so maybe he would have been proud of me for once. Maybe he wouldn't have blown his brains out. And maybe I would have slowed down sooner when I was taking Beth home or not drank at all until I got home."
