A Very Morgan Christmas-Ch 11
Over the next several months as Penelopes pregnancy progressed Derek continued watching Penelope to make sure that she didn't overdo. He was constantly asking her to take it easy and was by her side several times throughout their work day to make sure that she rested when she was tired.
Penelope hated to admit it but she loved all of the attention she was getting, she loved her sexy adonis of a husband so any time spent with him made her realize just how much she loved him. When the team was away on a case Penelope and Clooney would stay with Fran, especially now that she was in her 7th month.
Derek was afraid that she would go into labor and be alone, that was the last thing he wanted so he tried to make sure that she was never alone when he was gone. Derek and the rest of the family had started working on the nursery for the newest member of their clan.
Penelope was getting more and more excited, she couldn't wait to meet her son or daughter, she couldn't wait to hold them in her arms and kiss their chubby cheeks. She couldn't wait to hold the little bundle that was half her and half Derek.
Time was flying by and it was now Thanksgiving time and Penelope was over 8 1/2 months along and loving every minute of it. The nursery was now finished and fully stocked and ready for baby Morgan and the closer it got to her due date the more anxious she was getting.
Right now everybody was gathered around the dinner table enjoying a delicious meal together as a family, the team had been so busy that today was the first day they had all been able to be together outside of work and they were enjoying it to the fullest.
During the conversations it had been decided that for Christmas they were going to try to all go to Dave and Frans mountain cabin. Penelope loved the idea of them all being together and to be surrounded by beautiful snow covered mountains was a bonus.
By the time Christmas rolled around their baby would be here and that made her smile even more, she sighed happily as her attention then turned back to her family and the amazing meal in front of them. By the time the night was over and everybody headed home Derek had to carry an exhausted Penelope to bed.
He didn't want to wake her by changing her clothes so he left her in her loose clothing and just snuggled up close behind her and wrapped his arms around her. He buried his head in the crook of her neck and whispered, "I love you so much baby girl, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I don't know what I would do without you".
Derek smiled as he kissed the side of her neck, he then closed his eyes and joined her in sleep after a long and very exhausting day.
