Author's Review Response: Hey guys, I know you a good portion of you guys get irritated when I switch between nicknames, real names, and shortened names. So let's clear some things.
Naruto Drakkenborne (goes under the alias "Ventos").
Lucia Sorcha (nickname, "Kai").
Characters like Animus, Titania, and Beowulf has shortened versions of their name (like Ani, Tania, and Wulf).
Either way, I'm going to be using them interchangeably.
Okay, here's the responses!
To XxWildHeartXIIIxX: Thanks for the complient. Sorry about the wierd pacing issues, I wrote this story back in 2018. It was my third attempt at a fanfiction and I was trying to get a right feel to this kind of sub-genre of Naruto fanfiction. But trust me, the pacing will so down very soon when the later chapters comes. (Also, I'll check for spelling when I reread the chapters as soon as I can).
To SPark 681: Let's hope he doesn't go dragon, the strongest dragons in Earthland (like Igneel, Grandeeney, and Metalicana) continent busters at worst and (Ancnologia, and the Five Dragon Gods) were planet busters at best!
To zero fullbuster: Thanks, like always. Hope you enjoyed it!
Now that's done with, on with the show!
Forest Of Death, Konohagakure, 91 N.E.
The crowd gathered to the clearing of the forbidden training ground. Who stood in front of them was an exceptionally good looking kunoichi.
The violet-haired kunoichi had a fitted mesh bodysuit that covered her from her neck down to her thighs. Over that, the spiky-haired woman wore a tan overcoat with a purple in-seam and a pocket on each respective side, a dark orange mini-skirt, a dark blue belt, and pale-gray shin guards. In addition to the typical hitai-ate, the kunoichi also wore a small pendant around her neck that looks like, a snake fang, and a digital wristwatch.
This was the special join and an of the Torture and Interrogation department, the notorious Anko Mitarashi.
A sly grin reflected her cunning and overzealous personality, prompting the genin (except for the mages) to cringe in uncertainty added with uneasiness.
"Good afternoon, runts! I am the stunning and sexy Anko Mitarashi and I'll be your proctor for this part of the exams. Welcome one and all to Konoha's most dangerous training grounds, the Forest Of Death!" Anko finished with an echoing bellow.
When she finished, many of the genin flinched by the sheer tone of the voice which paired well with the ominous presence their current location was giving itself. Well, all except Kai, Animus, and Ventos who had a completely uneventful expression on their faces.
"Oi, You three! What's with the long looks? You seemed unimpressed. Can it be that the big bad heroes of Kiri are too good to this place?" Anko gibed.
Sensing bullshit right away, Kai was the first to respond.
"Not really, we're just not immature enough to fall for anyone's childish remarks. Plain and simple." Kai shot back.
Walking up to Kai after raising an eyebrow, Anko questioned coyly, "Oh-ho-ho! You think you're cute, don't you?"
"Cute? Bitch, I'm adorable! Kai snorted, giving Anko a smug look.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night, you burnt cunt!"
"Right back at you, pale-ass whore!"
"Kerosene smelling bitch!"
"Dried up bimbo!"
The two females flared their killing intent towards each other like a standoff. While the other genin pales at the young woman, Ventos and Animus couldn't help but sweat drop at the girl's childish behavior.
'...This is ridiculous.' the other two mages sighed.
Both girls didn't back down from one another as light-brown meet burning amber. This lasted for a solid minute before Anko and Kai laughed at their similar antics. Confusion swept the genin the other four villages. A single thought struck their teenage minds.
'What's wrong with two!?'
After the laughter ceased, Anko and Kai exchange personal respects between I'm another before the special jōnin went back to explaining the rules of the second test.
"Where was I...Oh yeah, each team will receive either a Heaven or Earth Scroll. And before you ask, the 'holy' one won't work in your favor if and or when you die, that's the title (cue idiot genin groaning and swearing). Anyways, Both are required for you all reach the tower in the center of the forest. The length of the test is within a maximum period of five days." Anko said.
Wait a sec-Five days!?" Ino shouted.
"HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO EAT WITHOUT ANY FOOD!?" Choji shouted with a depressed outraged on his face.
Stealing a impassive glance at Squad 10's large member, Ventos (Naruto) thought to himself, 'I think food is the least of your concern, Chōji-san.'
"Oh, if that's what you're worried about then you can find all necessities of survival in this very forest." Anko suggested, gesturing to the very place they're around. The ex-student of the Hebi-Sannin used a few clones to give each team their scrolls.
"One last thing before you all go off mugging each other, remember to not open either scroll until your team reaches the tower." Anko warned as she gave Squad 7 their scroll. Sakura raised her hand.
"What happens if we decide to open it?" Sakura asked and Anko just gave her an unsettling smirk.
"What good will a surprise be if I spoil it right off of the bat? Come pinky, use that big head of yours!" Anko quipped sarcastically.
The kunoichi was about to walk off before a mischievous plan stuck her mind.
"Gosh, darn it! I'm a freaking idiot forgetting to inform about that!" Anko pouted mockingly.
"What's wrong now?" Darui of Kumo asked out of curiosity.
"Oh, I might have forgotten to tell you that this place has booby traps like deep pits, carnivorous man-sized plants, and poisonous darts. You know, the small stuff."
The other villages paused for a moment as they took the time to processes what the crazy lady just said. The Konoha Rookie 12 shivered (except Itachi) at the prospect of being in the setting all the fables and campfire stories took place. Animus felt a bit uncomfortable with the dead silence as the other two remained silent.
"Did I also mention that the forest is infested with all kinds of wild and over-sized animals that will feast on anything in their territory?" Anko mentioned, enjoying the spooked teens as she began to leave once more.
"...And that's pretty much all you guys need to know. I wish you brats the best of luck out there! For those who don't make, you'll either be six feet under or opted out. Also, try not to die, kay? You can start after ten seconds. Bye!~''
After Anko left, an analog clock that seemed to be embedded in a tree ticked until it's bell went off, giving the genin the notion to dash off into the wild.
Ventos used sent the Earth scroll into a pocket dimension using Kansō Mahō to avoid it being stolen by another team. Due to Animus' size, the group decided to traverse the forest slowly rather than dashing off like the others. This way, other teams can be attracted by them, and once those foolish enough to underestimate and seize their scroll...BAM!
They strike.
-Meanwhile, With Iwa's Genin Team-
"First, the written test was playing tricks and Now we're jacking people? Man, this year's Chunin Exams sucks ass with a straw." A brown-haired Iwa-nin complained as he sighs. This was Jun.
"I feel your pain there, pal. This shit blows." The other Iwa shinobi agreed, who had reddish-orange locks. This was Akira.
"Both of you better zip it bother I'll give you something else to whine about!" The female Iwa nin said.
The young woman in question was Kurotsuchi, who's also the granddaughter of the Sandaime Tsuchikage (Third Rock Shadow). She had short, black hair and pupil-less, pink eyes that are defined by her eyelashes ran upward at each corner. Her attire was a standard outfit of the Iwa-nin which consisted of a red uniform (that covers her developing C-cup breasts) with her right sleeve gone and a lapel over her right leg, fishnet tights and a skirt over it. She also wore kunoichi sandals and a pair of gloves.
"Come on, Kurotsuchi-sama. You have to agree with us on this one." Akira said and the others nodded in agreement. Kurotsuchi had the urge to massage her temples because of the professionalism that her teammates were displaying.
'Kami above, out of all the people available, why did you have to give me two morons as my teammates?' Kurotsuchi asked in her mind, feeling frustrated.
"Hey Jun, Kurotsuchi-sama! Take a look at this!" Jin called out.
The Iwa team gathered by a ledge covered in bushes. Kurotsuchi was about to rant until Jun shushed her and told her to lay low.
"What is it, Akira? This had better be good or so help me I'll–"
The granddaughter of the Tsuchikage was cut off by a shushing sound, followed by a finger point downwards from the cliff. Kurotsuchi moves her head through the bushes to see what her teammate found, and to her surprise, it was actually useful.
In her line of vision was the famous war heroes of Kiri.
"Well, looky here! For once you've done a great job, Akira." Praised the black haired kunoichi in a whisper. "Now we've found ourselves some targets...targets with high caliber, no less."
"What's the game plan, Kurotsuchi-sama?" Jun asked, awaiting his leader's orders with his friend.
"We're gonna take out a major threat, obviously! Since we've spot the alleged 'Heroes of Kiri', this could be a big break for Iwa by knocking them off of their high horse." Explained the future village leader.
"Oh, so that means with Kiri's Heroes out of the competition, our chances of us losing at the later portion of the Chunin Exams will dwindle." Concluded Akira.
"Exactly, Akira." Kurotsuchi certified.
"U-Um, Kurotsuchi-sama? I-I don't think this is such a good idea... D-Didn't they kill over a hundred ninja out there. And two of them together defeated a Kage level shinobi that was a demon container (if the rumors are true). ...I'm just saying, we should this through. Can't we just, I don't know, take a weaker team's Earth Scroll?" Inquired Jun, feeling uneasy from the idea facing war veterans.
"Um, Jun, I don't appreciate the tone you taking at right now. Because your sound like a bitch. And no one likes a bitch (in a man), Jun." Kurotsuchi frowned, emasculating Jun with her critical tone.
"Don't you see, this is our chance to prove our strength, he strength of Iwagakure! It's cowards like you that gets others killed. We have to stay firm as a rock and face the enemy in order to accomplish the task at hand! That's what wearing the hitai-ate means, and you know and I both know that." Finished the annoyed Iwa kuniochi.
Kurotsuchi took out a few kunai as she gazed upon Animus, Kai, and Ventos as she continued her monologue with killing intent raising.
"And believe me when I say nothing is gonna stand in our way to victory!" She finished with an intense tone.
-Moments Later, with Team Ventos-
While Kai went off to urinate somewhere, Animus and Ventos stood in place to wait for their teammate and godsister.
"Brother, something's crossed [my] mind lately." Animus said in a thoughtfully manner.
Turning to his younger, but taller godbrother, Ventos responded, "Really now? What is it?"
"...Well, I was wondering what's he like? [The] Hokage, I mean?"
Suddenly, flashes of a certain blond-haired bastard ran through the teen's mind. Certain old memories went by Ventos (Naruto) which allowed anger to pass through his veins. One name was uttered in an enraged inhuman growl.
"Mi-na-to...!"
Witnessing is brother flare up his bloodlust and raw magic power steadily, Animus grabbed his godbrother by the shoulders and called out to him.
"Brother? Brother! Snap out of it!"
The anger induced pastel blond was quickly changed back into his normal mood when Animus' voice reached out for him.
"Brother. What is going on? Who's this "Minato" you spoke of?"
Ventos remained silent for a good five seconds before both he and Animus reacted to a barrage shuriken and kunai that headed their way. Animus raised his right arm, summoning his Mystical Mirror Shield (a retractable shield made by his guardian), meanwhile, Ventos summoned the Ændring in its a new form.
The default form went from being a two and a half foot, double edged broadsword into a large five feet and four inched (an inch and a half thick) double edged great sword that is now silver trimmed light gray blade with a golden guard and a black handle and a spherical pommel.
Animus deflected the kunai and brought out his Vanguard Axe (a legendary weapon forged by Animus' birth father to do battle with nearby enemies) on his left hand as the Ændring reflected the shuriken, sending its trajectory to where they came from. This, in turn, exposed the hiding position. The Iwa team leaped out to reveal themselves with Kurotsuchi approaching them.
"And look what we have here, a bunch of Kiri big shots with their other member apparently missing. Shame, I really wanted to bludgeon her face...Oh well. This will be a wonderful convenience for Iwa either way." Kurotsuchi declared, brimming with (over)confidence.
"What makes you think you'll win without [our] sister with us?" Animus question with an unusual edge to his time.
"You're about to find out!"
Kurotsuchi slammed her hands down after going through a series of quick hand signs.
"Doton: Doryūsō (Earth Release: Earth Flowing Spears)"
Manipulating the very element itself, rock formations erected from the ground as they became spikes.
Standing in the line of fire, or in this case, rock spikes, Animus un-equipped his weapons and vertically brought his left fist down to his right palm. A rusty-gray magic circle formed on his palm along with the ground the jotun stood. Metallic bracers covered his left arm, hardening it. With a battle cry, Animus charged towards the rocky hazard, cocking his fist back.
"Aīan Meiku: Katai-Ude (Iron Make: Solid Arm)!"
Kurotsuchi fell off guard for a split second at the unfamiliar technique that Animus displayed. She performed a few somersaults to gain ground with her team by her side, was doing the same.
'W-What in the world? That's defenitely not a kind technique I've seen before! It must be some kind of Kekkei Genkai! And the way this brute moves... It's so unconventional that it's not even ninja-like at all! Still, I better take them down fast if we want to steal their scroll!'
"Oh shit! Jun! Did you just see that? That guy smashed Kurotsuchi-sama's technique with metal!" Akira gawked.
"Fuck!" Jun swore. "You saw that too? I thought I was freaking out. This is bad!"
Kurotsuchi punched Akira in the head.
"Quit being a kiss-ass and help me kick their asses!" Kurotsuchi barked, positioning herself with her teammates following suit as she emphasized the mages.
Hearing this, Ventos took his blade and altered his appearance to a much more slimmer shortsword (Light form) and turned to face his guild brother.
"Animus, think you can take these two alone? I'm gonna give little missy here attitude adjustment." Ventos grunted in Runic.
"Aye, sir!" Saluted the jolly jotun before going back into his serious demeanor, causing Akira and Jun to gulp in fear.
-Animus vs. Akira (and Jun)-
"Doton: Doryūdan (Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet)!"
A mud molded dragon came from via Akira headed straight for Animus with the intent of eating the jotun. Upon retracting his shield and placing his axe on his bacl, redhead sprung up towards the air and formed spell-casting gesture.
"Aīan Meiku: Ude Taiho! (Iron Make: Arm Cannon)!"
As his right hand glowed, a metalic arm formed on his right arm. Channeling his magic power, Animus shot a charged magenta blast at the rock dragon, destroying it in the process.
Getting fed up with his methods of ninjutsu (ninja techniques) failing decided for a different change. Akira made a quick hand sign, creating two dozen copies of himself.
The Akira clones leaped at the jotun duel wielding kunai. Realizing he was outnumbered, Animus shifted his own battle strategy. Animus once again activated his Mystical Mirror Shield and raised it up in the air.
"Buraindo (Blind)!"
The shield flashed a gleaming ray of light, temporarily rendering Akira's clone blind, allowing Animus to distance himself from the twenty-four clones. The mage then deactivated his shield and brought his palms together with a mighty clap. From that clap's slow separation, a magic circle flashed from one palm as a knight arming sword emerged from the other palm. Animus took the handle of the sword and shrouded the blade with magic power before swiping at the Akira clones.
"Aīan Meiku: Karibān (Iron Make: Caliburn)!"
All of the clones of Akira turned into mud. Out of options, Akira resorted to taijutsu. He dashed at the tall green-eyed boy with a barrage of punches. Animus deadpanned at Akira's futile endeavors, finding his 'adversary' rather pathetic.
'...Wow, this is really sad. I almost feel bad for this guy...Almost.' Animus thought, not feeling any punishment from Akira's attacks.
Having enough of the unnecessary assault, Animus hoisted the ginger genin by the shirt and chopped his neck gently, knocking Akira unconscious.
Setting the teen down, Animus directed his concentration towards Jun, who at this point stood in place, shaking in fear. The jotun held a firm expression as he spoke to the brown-haired teen.
"Do you give?"
Being a reasonable person, Jun nodded his head rapidly as he bowed in defeat. Animus cast Aīan Meku: Kusari (Iron Make: Chains) to bind Jun and the inert Akira to a tree.
"How...anticlimactic. …I wonder how brother's doing with [his] fight?"
-Ventos vs. Kurotsuchi-
Mighty clashes zipped around trees, shaking and stirring the very leaves themselves. Sounds of iron shocks rang across the forest in an extremely violent manner. This fast-paced murderous dance lasted for a good thirty seconds until a powerful confrontation between a kunai-wielding Kurotsuchi and a sword-exerting Ventos meet murderously.
"I'm going to make you regret that previous comment, Kiri-teme!"
"Yeah, and I'm not going to kick your ass six ways from Sunday, Iwa-ama!"
Growling at that the sarcastic insult, the Iwa kunoichi extended her leg for a kick, only to have the attack blocked by the mage's Ændring blade, which changed into its Heavy form.
Though, it pushed Ventos ten feet away from Kurotsuchi. This was the chance that she was waiting for! The black-haired teenage girl went through quick hand signs to perform ninjutsu.
"Suiton: Mizurappa! (Water Release: Water Trumpet!)"
The girl cupped her hands to shoot a highly compressed stream of water at the teenage boy, who quickly saw the attack coming. At first, the girl smirked at her opening shot, mentally proclaiming her victory for her homeland.
Little did Kurotsuchi know that she was in for a long-awaited rain check.
Ventos pushed his scarf downwards, revealing the lower half of his face. Before impacted, the pastel blond took a deep breath all the while insufflating the water assault in one draught.
Gulp!
'...D-Did he just—?' Kurotsuchi stuttered mentally, trying to fathom what just transpired at the moment.
"Ahhh!~ Don't you just love water when you need it?" Ventos humored, wiping his mouth as he unequipped the Ændring.
"J-Just what are you!?" The pink eyes kunoichi roared in confusion.
The teenaged boy closes his left eye as he pounded his fist into his other inner hand. A navy blue magic circle appeared under him as the pastel blond revealed his dragon-like eyes (including the scared eye) as Ventos answered.
"I am a dragon!"
A pair of water streams snaked around Ventos' arms. Concentrating on his starstruck target, Ventos blurred right next to Kurotsuchi with a pair of swirling water infused hands.
"Ao-Yuri: Kaioryū no Rasenken (Azure Lily: Sea King Dragon's Spiraling Fist)!"
Blow after blow connected as Kurotsuchi's body was pelted with great force. When listening to the flurry of fists, some of the girl's bones cracked at the strength of the attack. Wanting to finish the scuffle, Ventos uppercutted the poor girl, sending her a yard away, allowing her body to collide with the growing and limp over to unconsciousness.
The Drakkenborne grabbed the knocked out Iwa kunoichi and leisurely walked back to Animus' spot where the said John was watching a mortified Jun, who was currently terrified at the fact that his team was crushed by the mages.
Ventos could tell that Jin was the only one out of his team that had any sense to not bite off more than he could chew so he gave him a chance.
"Hey buddy, since you seemed to be the only one out of your little team that got some decent common sese, I'll give you a chance." Ventos began before glaring at him. "See, in my hand right here are special medical pills that can heal your teammates. Now, if you can be so kind as to take you and your comrades out of our presence, I'll give you two pills to save them. Hell, you can even keep whatever scroll you've got. Just leave us be." Suggested a calm yet stern Ventos, who held two green pills he pulled out from his pants pocket.
Not wasting another second, Jin followed the Dragon Slayer's directions and grabbed his teammates along with the two pills before dashing off elsewhere.
To celebrate their small victory, the two guild brothers fist-bumped.
"Checkmate!" The boys said in unison.
"Well, somebody seems to be having fun, aren't we?"
The two mages looked up to see Kai, who was sitting upon a tree carrying a different scroll from their own.
"Sister! You're here!" Animus cheered as supposed to Ventos, who was slightly shocked and annoyed.
"Kai? Where in the nine realms were you!? We were ambushed by Iwa in case ye didn't know!" Interrogated Ventos in Runic.
Kai brought her hands up mockingly as if her younger guild brother/leader was an officer of some sort.
"Hey, hey, no need to be so uptight! Look, remember when I said I had to use the bathroom?" Kai asked.
"Yeah, what about it?" Ventos questioned albeit grumpily.
-Flashback-
"Phew! I was holding that for hours!" Kai said, walking away from a nearby ditch.
Fully relieved, she began heading back to her godbrothers...
...Until a kunai has been emerged from a nearby bush landed in front of her feet.
"Shit!" She said as she backflipped a few times to get away from her current position.
Three people jumped out from the bushes. Like previously mentioned, these were the Kumo genin team.
Samui, the leader, was a rather curvaceous for a seventeen year old. She was a fair skinned blonde young woman with a bob cut. She wore a very low outfit over mesh armor, a short black shirt, red hand guards, amd high black sandals. Like the others, she utilized kenjutsu by carrying a tanto on her back.
To Samui's left side was Karui. Unlike her leader, lacked the ample fullness in her breasts, but was still woman through and through. The amber eyed kunoichi who wore her hitai-ate lick a bandana had long spiky red hair and chocolate colored skin. She had on a long-sleeved dress filled with frilly edges. She also had two yellow earrings, fishnet stockings amd thigh high boots with with soles. Like her other teammates, she carried a long sword on her back.
The last guy that is on Samui's right is the laid back Darui. This guy, much like Karui, was a dark skinned young man but had shaggy white hair that covered his left eye (which is onyx colored by the way). His attire sported a high collared sleeveless black uniform with loose fitted bottoms. He also had the kanji symbols for water (right) and lightning (left) tattooed on his shoulders. He too, carried a sword (which was a cleaver-like blade) that's strapped to his back.
Stepping forward with a cool monotone voice, Samui said, "Hōō no Kai (Kai of the Phoenix), you are to either give up your Earth Scroll, or lead us to it."
Kai gave them a crazed inquisitive glance. She wasn't neccassarily listening to listening to the kuudere's words, but rather pondering on a single question that flew out of her mouth a few seconds later.
"...Were you three waiting for me to finish pissing in the ditch so you can ambush me?"
Although Samui remained calm, Darui turned away in embarrassment. Meanwhile, Karui turned a little red while she screamed at the Phoenix Slayer.
"Never mind that, you weird broad! Give us or tell us what we want, or else we'll make you!"
Using her right hand, Kai gave them a 'come on' gesture as she said, "If your feeling lucky, Shortfuse, then come get some!"
Falling for the taunt, Karui rushed at Lucia (Kai) with a few slashes of her longsword, which dodged by moving out of the way. Chuckling at the redhead's abysmal anger control, Kai pushed Karui back a few with a hard palm to her midsection.
When Karui was sent out, Samui jumped in to take her place as she done three hand seals. Extending her tanto blade (after pulling out of the sheath), Samui sent her lightning chakra into the sword to attempt at cutting her with it. But being as swift as she was, Kai laced her hand with Kurasshu Mahō (Crush Magic) and crushed the weapon into bits, shocking the ever so stoic blonde in the process.
'Such power! I didn't she possessed a technique that rivaled Konoha no Namekuji Tsunade-hime (Slug Princess Tsunade of Konoha)!' Samui thought in fear, taking a few steps back.
Dropping the sword's pieces, Kai on the verge of retaliating, but the mage cartwheeled out of the way of four balls of blue electricity that destroyed a few trees. Turning around, Kai witnessed a roughed up Karui taking the place of her leader.
"Ah, you're up again." Kai noticed. "Ready for round two, Shortfuse? You can even tag team Ice Queen, if you want?"
Taking out a four shuriken, Samui threw a volley at the dark skinned wizard while the redhead Kumo-nin shot her Raiton: Raikyū no Jutsu (Lightning Release: Lightning Ball Technique) onto the shuriken, cloaking the midair projectiles as it closed in on their target.
Cracking a smile, Kai imbued her right hand with Kurasshu Mahō, and punched the ground beneath her while crying out, "Dōteki Kowasu (Dynamic Break Down)!"
The earth shattering blow caused the magic power to surge, uprooting the rocks from underneath. The flying debris collided and overtaken the lightning laced shuriken and hit both Kumo kunoichi, sending them flying a few meters away from Kai.
Moving back into a stand, Kai blowed onto her right fist with satisfaction.
"There. That takes care of that little problem." Lucia 'Kai' Sorcha declared before walking away.
"...Not so fast."
Feeling the cold sharp end of a giant cleaver-like sword, Kai paused as her amber-colored eyes looked to see the laid back member of Team Samui, Darui of Kumo, standing directly behind her.
"...Oh yeah, I forgot about you." Said the wizard nonchalantly.
"Let's try this again," Darui approached verbally with a slight chill to his voice. "Do you or your team posses an Earth or a Heaven Scroll?"
"Us?" Questioned the female adolescent. "We have an Earth Scroll. But I do not have it, unfortunately."
Darui sighed in frustration, hating that his job had just got more complicated as he was lost in thought for a second.
Kai's eyes glanced at the floor, noticing a peculiar scroll about three feet away from where she and the distracted Darui.
"Hmph. Very well, it looks you're going to help us find your teammates because until we get the scroll, you're our hostage." Darui concluded.
Kai gave him an innocent smile, saying, "Silly, shinobi. I can't be your hostage if your stuck in the ground."
"Huh? What are talking about? I'm not–AHH!"
From out of nowhere, Darui dropped his burnt sword (from passing through Kai's body) to the ground as he sank into the ground (courtesy of Kai's left foot sending seismic waves through her Kurasshu Mahō), leaving only his upper body exposed.
Looking around himself and his sword, Darui (for once) began to panic, saying "What's gping on? My body, my sword, you? How are you–"
"–Alive? Its quite simple, really," Kai said, beginning to esxplain her abilities. "I used my leg to generate a fissure underneath you to trap you. It wasn't hard considering you're way too laxed to be capturing me. As for the sword being burntand me being alive, one of the perks of my special ability is to turn my body into literal fire through concentration. Only elemental attacks other than flames can do any sort of damage while in that state."
Glancing at the Heaven Scroll on the gorund, Kai walked up to it, catching the attention of Darui as he thought to himself '...Ah shit. I dropped that while I was sneaking up on her!'
"What's this? A Heaven Scroll just for me? You're too kind, shinobi-san. I'll take this and tell my team that you sent this as a gift from your team. Thank you so much! Bye now!"
And like that, Kai raced through the trees, leaving a stuck Darui to sit there in the fissure. While in the hole, Darui could only think one dreadful sentence.
'When Samui and Karui wake up, I'm so screwed.'
-Flashback Over-
"...And then while reaching to your location, I saw a Kusa-nin going at a different. I didn't pay much mind to the person, but this guy had a eerie vibe to him. For some strange reason, he carried a lot of killing intent and has a snake-like musk to him." Kai said, finishing her story.
At this point, Ventos was in deep thought at the details of this new information.
'Wait, a Kusa-nin that has a strong killing intent...A snake-like musk to him...Wait, that sounds an awful like–!'
Before vocally reacting to the answer he mentally discovered a scream bellowed across the forest. While Animus and Kai didn't recognize the voice at first, Ventos caught it instantly.
"Ruki!" Ventos harshly whispered before hastily turning around.
"Guys! We got to haul ass, now!" Commanded Ventos as he and his guild siblings scurried off to the yell's direction.
-Meanwhile with Konoha's Squad 7-
"Kukuku! I hate to cut things relatively short but it seems that you are out of time, jinchūriki. Yes, with you and that worthless excuse for a kunoichi out of the way, I can obtain the Sharingan and a new body in one fell swoop! Now, say goodnight, Namikaze-hime! A man cackled with a sinister expression on his unusually and slightly feminine face.
This man he had very fair skin, golden eyes with serpentine slit pupils, violet markings around his eyes and sharp teeth. The man also had pronounced cheekbones and straight waist-length black locks of hair with said locks covering and framing his face and/or to his shoulders. For clothing, the sadistic shinobi wore plain gray apparel with a black shirt and pants. Underneath it was a thick violet rope belt tied in a large knot behind his back, blue tomoe-shaped earrings, and shinobi sandals with bandages around his calves.
This was the traitorous Sannin of Konoha, Orochimaru.
During their time navigating through the forest, Squad 7 encountered a squad of Kusa-nin, which two of them were really clones. The middle one wearing a straw hat began to shed his skin, revealing himself as Orochimaru.
Sakura cowered in fear, not used to the raw bloodlust flexed by the former student of the late Sandaime Hokage. Ruki, however, responded by attacking (disregarding Sakura and Itachi's protests) the Sannin with Kage Bunshin.
Orochimaru's response?
He summoned a few snakes using seals that was around his arms.
The three small (but still bigger than normal) snakes chased Squad 7 around the area the snake sage was occupying. Ruki decided that the est way to kill the snake was by diving at the beat and stabbing it fity times (one kunai per each Ruki).
And somehow, it did the trick.
It took Itachi a few attacks, using Katon: Karyūdan (Fire Release: Fire Dragon Bullet) to damage the serpent, and Chidori: Eisō (One Thousand Birds: Sharp Spear) to seal the kill (b impaling the snake through its brain).
Sakura...well, she was too scared to really do anything. In fact, Ruki and Itachi had to take care of the snake by combining their Fūton and Katon natures to slay the final snake.
They genin thought things were going well...until a smaller snake that Orochimaru spawned slithered up to Itachi's calf and bit him (causing him to drop uncoscious from the paralysis toxins of the bite). Coming from the bloody carcass of the last snake killed, Orochimaru emerged, explaining that he was there to 'tie up loose ends with Konoha'. while summoning another, bigger snake.
Now, Squad 7, or rather a wearily tired Ruki and a cowering Sakura were standing in front of Orochimaru who had a deranged look on his face and was glaring at them while standing on the top of his giant snake summon.
"No! It can't be the end! It can't end like this!" Sakura shouted as tears cascaded from her face as she began to panic.
Meanwhile, Ruki was carrying her knocked out crush on her back, struggling to think of ways to escape the clutches of Orochimaru.
"THIS IS THE END FOR YOU! IT'S TIME TO DIE!" Orochimaru shouted and the snake slithered towards them to devour them all swiftly.
However, all of a sudden, a beam of white light phased through the serpent's head, also forging a hole while so.
Ruki, Sakura, hell, even Orochimaru of all people were bewildered by what was occurring. Before they knew what was foretold, the dead snake disappeared in a puff of smoke, causing Orochimaru to land on the ground abruptly.
"What happened!? That light! What's the hell is going o—"
"Rairyū no Tekken (Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist)!"
Before Orochimaru could finish his rant, his face was met with a lightning-infused fist, sending him flying through a few trees.
Ruki and Sakura eyes widen in shock at what power they got a glimpse at while gawking at who saved them.
Ruki's mind went all over the place as she stared at the trio of mages, more specifically, the pastel blond in the middle. As she gazed at his visible cerulean left eye, her heart felt familiar with his presence. The girl with whisker marks couldn't shake her six sense of kinship familiarity ( or the twin detector as she used to call it). But then again, his attitude and presentation spoke something drastically different that made the Uzu-Nami girl second guess her immediate thoughts.
Despite the slightness of uncertainties, sporadic questions emerged from her mind.
'It's him! That guy who looks like Naruto! Is here to save us? How did he get here so fast? What kind of technique was that? And how did get one over that snake bastard?!' Ranted Ruki, surprised, relieved, and slightly jealous at the same time.
Naruto turns their attention to Ruki and the others and approaches them.
"You okay?" Ventos softly asked in a serious manner. Ventos received a pair of nodded, verifying their level of health. However, looking at his old friend's state made his blood boil.
'Oh no, Itachi! What did that creep do to him? I swear I'll make that him pay for this!' Promised the Dragon Slayer.
Orochimaru then summoned another random giant snake as the trio of mages took battle formations.
"You! State the purpose of your meddling, genin!" Orochimaru shouted in anger while the Andreíos Soul mages were became disgusted by the look on Orochimaru's pale face.
"Animus, Kai, go and take the Konoha-nin to a safe zone. Oroi-teme is mine!" Ventos spat in Runic, eyeing the crafty snake with hatred.
Kai and Animus gave their respective "'Aye' at him, however, Ruki protested.
"ARE YOU CRAZY?! H-HE'S TOO STRONG TO FIGHT ON YOUR OWN! Y-"
Ruki's ranting was cut short by a fist to the stomach (from Kai), who took satisfaction in the process. That brought the Uzumaki-Namikaze into a state of unconsciousness. Two-thirds of Andreíos Soul carried Squad 7 away, leaving Ventos and the Sannin alone.
"Gaki, you're clearly way in over your head if you think you can take me on by your—"
Pausing mid sentence, Orochimaru took a moment to gaze upon the teenager's cerulean left eye with his own golden calculating eyes.
When taking a closer glimpse at him, Orochimaru saw some noticeable similarities between the mage and his worst enemy, the Yondaime Hokage. Most specifically, the boy's stare, body language, and facial features (that was unintentionally revealed because Ventos' scarf was momentarily down at this time).
'Wait, that face! It looks so much like—! Why does a Kiri-nin bare the face of Minato-kun if this boy is from a different village? " Orochimaru inquired in his mnd while he started to deduce the answer. "Clearly, the blond bastard too much of a boy scout to sleeping around in his marriage. And the Namikaze clan was slaughtered in the Dainiji Ninkai Gaiden (Second Great Ninja War) so survivors are also impossible to consider. So how can—wait a minute! The previous jinchūriki gave birth to twins, and he supposedly was murdered years ago but a body wasn't ever found so how..! Ohhh...This has certainly gotten interest!'
"Kukuku! I'd never thought you've survived, let alone come to meet you in person, Naruto-kun. It's quite an honor, indeed." Orochimaru stated as he identified that the boy in front of him was Minato's estranged son.
Ventos' lone working eye widened in shock for a moment.
'How did he-' The blond thought, as he then noticed his scarf wasn't covering the bottom half of his face by the chill running across his chin.
Gritting his teeth, the mage covered most of his face again (Kakashi style).
But the pastel blond then quickly decided to calm down and look upon Orochimaru's evil eyes and sort out his thoughts. Orochimaru was confused about why was Minato's son not moving.
'Okay, this disgusting sage is here why exactly? Hm... Knowing about his past history with Konoha and his tendencies to study kinjutsu (Forbidden Techniques), my hunches are telling me he's after possible candidates for experimentation. Perhaps, a new body even? And judging from my former other-half (what he calls Ruki) being a jinchūriki and the weak pink-haired hollowing-monkey, the only probable candidate is...Itachi!' Ventos (Naruto) thought, mentally snarling at the answer.
'Of course, he wants to get his hands on the Sharingan! And why stop there? Since this bastard isn't Hokage and the Sandaime's dead, he'll need a target to take revenge on the Yondaime about not being selected as Hokage. Konoha's still healing from the Kyūbi attack, he knows this. So can be a perfect opportunity to strike! And what better way than...an Odin damned invasion!' Ventos brainstormed, figuring the enemy's plan out.
"...You son of a bitch!" Ventos said intensely.
"Excuse me?" Orochimaru asked, slightly taken back from the wizard's daring insult.
"You're not excused, you sick fuck! You not only plan to harvest my friend's dōjutsu , but you're one of the masterminds behind coordinating the entire invasion!" Ventos accused and Orochimaru eyes widen in shock.
"I have no idea what you're-"
"You can't fool me, trash! You may not see it, but I like to study potential threats for worse case scenario purposes! It makes a difference when out on the battlefield where people can die the next day. Besides, it only makes sense that you would target Konoha...After all, you're a fellow Konoha-hater such as myself. But unfortunately for you, your sorry pale-ass fucked up when you decided to hurt one of my precious people! Ventos finished, focusing his anger toward the snake sage that was in front of him.
"Hehehe! For a But that won't stop me from ripping you apart! " Orochimaru shouted, prompting the giant serpent to charge at the mage.
The former son of Yondaime Hokage took a deep breath as he called upon the Ændring blade to his right hand through Kansō Mahō.
From there, Ventos channeled his magic power to change the Ændring's (Default) form into a new state with light eveloping the sword.
'May this blessed blade be graceful as it gather the singing winds...' Ventos cogitively chanted as he jumped on a branch from a different tree, causing the snake to slam into a the spot he was previously located.
From the light, a new sword emerged. Much like the Ændring's Default Form, the new sword was that of a knight arming sword; being three feet long and the blade being half an inch in width. The single edge blade had a green hue with a teal accent running at the sharp edge of the blade. One part of the cross guard (that was a royal blue) was curving upward while the other was curving downward. The hilt matched the cross guard's coloration, with the pommel being flat this time. at the center of the cross guard was a green Lacrima.
Presenting his sword, Ventos shouted, "Ændring: Vindstrom!"
With the snake summon adjusting itself from lunging itself into a tree, Orochimaru's mouth parted from his lips as he saw Naruto's sword had changed form. But before he could process any thoughts on the matter, Vindstrom began accumulating and circulating strong winds around the blade of the sword.
Turning the sword to the sharp and, Ventos (Naruto) raised Vindstrom above his head as he shouted his next attack.
"Kazetachi (Wind Break)!"
The swordsman unleashed a blade beam of razor winds towards the snake. Orochimaru look of consternation on how potent the power of the beam began to emphasize, causing him to jump out from the summon.
The beam engulfed the snake upon impact And when the beam hit, the snake was caught in a massive explosion that created an inner windstorm, cutting the reptile into near death. By the time the attack subsided, the serpent's skin torn and shredded before it fell to the ground.
Orochimaru's jaw dropped at what he just witness. Despite being a war veteran, a mere genin easily eliminated an enormous snake summon and was able to produce such a powerful technique.
Once Ventos noticed that Orochimaru was distracted, he took advantage of this opportunity. Ventos unequipped Vinstrom, raised his left fist in the air, summoning suspended lightning out from the skies. Volts ran through his body fast as he concentrated this attack at his target.
"Narihibiku ha, Shōrai no Todoroki, Ten yori Ochite Kaijin to Kase! Mōretsu Boruto (Resounding through the air, the roar of thunder, plunge from the heavens and reap destruction! Raging Bolt)!" Ventos cast as he released the blast of electricity towards Orochimaru.
He then hurled the crackling ball of electricity at the Sannin.
The snake sage snapped out of his awestruck face and saw the powerful lightning incantation heading towards him. He immediately jumped away to avoid it, witnessing the massive damage caused by the oversized thunderbolt. Orochimaru then turned back at the son of his arch-enemy with eyes that are gleaming with interest.
'Oh my, he was able to generate and conjure lightning without the use of chakra. It seems that you are more than meets the eye, Naruto-kun. Show me more!' Orochimaru thought as he eyed the boy.
He unleashed a barrage of snake using Sen'ei Jashu (Hidden Shadow Snake Hands) at the blond's direction. Ventos immediately overflow himself with magic power yet again.
"Bofūryū no Hoko (Gale Dragon's Roar)!"
Ventos released a powerful tornado of razor-sharp winds from his mouth and destroyed everything in its path. Orochimaru eyes widen in shock as he saw his snakes were easily decimated.
"Fūton: Daitoppa (Wind Release: Great Breakthrough)!" Orochimaru called out, quickly finishing his weaving hand signs.
A strong gust of wind came out from his hand and heading straight to the powerful tornado but was surely overpowered, shocking Orochimaru eyes yet again, which was then followed by the Sannin being sent sprawling. Orochimaru was in the air when suddenly The blond suddenly phased in front in front of him, continuously astounding the scientist.
'His movements skyrocked! But how? That couldn't be Shunshin no Jutsu because it was way too fast for me to see. Was that the Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique)? ...Or could it be that his Namikaze dormaint Sokudo Jinton (Velocity Swift Release) Kekkei Genkai has finally manifested? ...Even still, how is he moving so–' Orochimaru's mind queried but was cut short as he saw Ventos' next move.
"Kaioryū no Yokugeki (Sea King Dragon's Wing Attack)!" Naruto shouted as he unleashed whips of spiraling water towards Orochimaru and hits him sending him crashing to the ground unbearably hard.
Orochimaru groaned in agony as he was unable to avoid the incursion and glanced at Minato's son, who was descending downwards towards him. His eyes widened in horror when he noticed that Naruto hands were coated in with blue lightning and yellow bolts.
"Kō den'atsu ga hantai no te kara ketsugō shite iru ma... Chikara no nami to shite sorera o ketsugō sa sete kudasai (While a high voltage merges from opposite hands...Let them join together as a wave of force)! Ventos chanted.
He slammed his hands together, allowing a powerful explosive green spark.
"Rairyū no Mabushī Senkō (Lightning Dragon's Radiant Flash)!"
When the smoke and dust cleared up, the section that the spell was completely destroyed. Ventos immediately noticed Orochimaru's absence, indicating that was gone. To confirm this, he attempted to sense his chakra, but to no avail.
"Tch! Foreskin-loving coward!" Ventos rudely commented before covering his person in a white hue and phased towards where his guild siblings and Squad 7 was.
He failed to realize that Orochimaru was hiding in the ground all along. The crafty snake gazed at him with interest in his golden eyes.
'Mmm...very well! I'll let go of the Uchiha, but in exchange, I'll take your body as my own, Naruto-kun. Kukukuku!' Orochimaru thought as a sadistic smirk grew on his sinister face.
-With Kai, Animus, And Squad 7, Moments Later-
Ventos dashed through the forest at an incrediably fast pace. He had done this for five minutes, searching around until he saw Animus, Kai and the others who were resting in small dank cave. He landed on the ground and started to walk towards them.
Kai and Animus turned around to see Ventos, the head towards him for regrouping. Kai gave him a slap on the arm as Animus, subconsciously gave him a hug or a nearly permanent back problem.
Fortunately for him, half giant released him, allowing him to breathe.
The masked (or scarf wearing) blond turns his attention to Squad 7. Itachi was resting on the while Sakura placed what seemed to be a ripped piece of cloth on his calf (where the bite wound was at). Ruki was monitering the Uchiha's wellness at all times (which was something that she was extremely happy about).
"A-Ano...," Stuttered a certain blond-haired girl, facing the mage. "Thank you for saving us."
Ventos (Naruto) reponded by giving her a blank stare before turning away from her and Ruki, who was taking care of Itachi.
Naruto turns his attention to Ruki who was slowly approaching him while Sakura was taking good care of Itachi.
"I didn't do it for you...Where we come from, we a moral code. We protect those who are assaulted by all things evil. And besides, what kind of allies would we be if we let the Yondaime's 'Honorable Daughter' get killed by a international traitor? It's just common sense." Ventos rationalized, hiding the venom he has towards his former twin sister, who cringed at his tone.
"O-Oh, right." Sakura stuttered, shaken up from that past situation.
Ventos motioned his crew to leave as they headed their way out of the cave. They would have left if it weren't for an unusually desperate-sounding Ruki.
"Wait!"
The trio turned their heads to see Ruki, who held Itachi's unmoving form.
"If you're going to leave, can you at least help Itachi-kun? You don't have to for my sake, but for his sake! He doesn't deserve to be in this horrible condition! I'm begging you, please help him!" Ruki hoarsely pleaded, not bearing for the love of her life to suffer anymore pain.
Ventos turned away for a moment to refrain from giving in to his pity, but a shoulder squeeze via Kai told him to do so. This was paired along the memories of Itachi flashed through his mind. Sighing, he took out a pill and an extra Heaven Scroll from the battle with Orochimaru and handed them to Ruki. The girl took them while looking back to Ventos as the three began to walk off.
"There, feed that to the Uchiha. He'll be up in running with that in a day or so. I also received an extra Heaven scroll which was dropped after Orochimaru disappeared. And no, he's still out there if you're wondering. I suggest you rest and look after each other until all three of you can reach the towers. Also, tell your father that he appeared here so the village can be prepared for anything. And remember that once this is over, we are enemies again. That means I'll be the one to crush you, rather save you. Until then, Kyūbi jinchūriki."
And with that, the trio of wizards phased in a white flash of light. While Sakura fed Itachi, a single whisper could only be heard by Ruki who stated the following.
"We'll see about that, Vento-san."
To Be Continued...
Author's Note: Real quick guys, let me explain the whole "Jinton" situation.
As you all aware, the romanji for Dust Release is the same for the Anime exclusive Swift Release, which his Jinton. How I'm going to simplify this is that there are two kinds of Jinton, Sokudo Jinton (Velocity Swift Release) and Genshi (no) Jinton (Atomic Dust Release).
All you need to know about Sokudo Jinton was that the Kekkei Genkai originated from the small but powerful Namikaze clan in Kaminari no Kuni before the Warring States Period. However, the Namikaze clan was feared by those who dare cross them. One day, during the Second Great Ninja War, a band of Iwa-nin raided the country where the Namikaze lived. They piliged and killed everyone on site, leaving little Minato to be the last of the Namikaze clan.
