Chapter 7

Ed was a little surprised that Roy was leading him so far away from camp, but he couldn't say that he hadn't expected the man to want to talk about what had happened between them. They had been walking for nearly an hour and the man still hadn't said a word so Ed was starting to get a little nervous.

"We're here," the Colonel finally spoke as they came upon a small building in a clearing of the trees they had been walking through. It was very secluded and seemed as if it was never used. The small windows were so dusty that nothing could be seen through them. Ed supposed that if you were inside you would probably be able to see light from the outside during the day, but that would be it.

"Is this where you kill me?" Ed joked, grinning at the raven-haired man. Roy only smirked as he pulled out a key and unlocked the door, ushering the smaller man inside. Ed only realized what was happening after the door had already been locked behind them. Suddenly arms were grabbing him and he was being dragged to a chair at the center of what appeared to be the main room of the small building.

"What the hell?!" he cursed as they tied his arms behind him. "Roy? What are you doing?!"

"Don't bother playing innocent! You know exactly what this is," another voice growled and Ed quickly recognized Riza, Roy's right hand. Of course it would be her. There was no one else more loyal to Roy than her and Ed knew she would keep whatever happened here a secret if the Colonel asked her to.

"Clearly I don't! I thought we were just coming out here to talk about last night, Roy."

"What about last night?" Riza narrowed her eyes at her boss.

"Not important right now," Roy quickly dismissed. "We're here to talk about this." He produced a small vial from the pocket of his uniform jacket that Ed quickly recognized as one of the poisons he'd sold in town recently. Careful not to reveal anything, Ed tilted his head in confusion.

"What's that supposed to be?"

"This just so happens to be the work of the Fullmetal, a terrorist that had primarily been operating in Central...until now apparently. The Artifice Alchemist indeed..." Roy scowled, holding the evidence out for him to see.

"Wait...you think...you think I'm some sort of criminal, what? Criminal mastermind or something? What the hell Roy?! I've been living with you for how long and working with you all this time! Don't you think you would have noticed if I truly was?" Ed forced out, projecting a tone of disbelief with a touch of outrage at being accused of such a thing.

"Just give it up Fullmetal! I saw you with Mike!" Riza shouted, clearly growing tired of this argument. "We know all about him. He's a well known criminal with a lot of connections to the underground and black markets. There could be no reason what-so-ever that you would be speaking with a guy like him unless you were working with him!"

In the few minutes of silence that followed, Ed quickly ran through all of his options in his head. No matter what he thought of he knew that these two would shoot down any excuse he had. Not even his carefully crafted fake persona and last name would be enough to throw them off now. The only other options were to attempt to fight his way out now or try to ease them into a false sense of security to escape later. Option two would be too risky though, because Ed had no way of knowing how many other people Roy had informed and how many may show up later. It was now or never.

"Guess you caught me," Fullmetal spat, voice infinitely more cold than it had been only moments ago startling the two before him. "What ever shall I do?" he asked in that same cold tone as he glared defiantly up at them. Then he moved his hands, which had been left relatively unrestrained, just enough to clap. He touched the chair beneath him and stood as it morphed into a hardened wood spear, loosening the ropes binding him enough that he was able to shake them off as he stood, spear in hand.

"What the...?" Riza started as she moved to reach for her gun. Ed struck out quickly with the spear, throwing her off balance enough that she nearly fell onto Roy who was trying to pull on his gloves. Ed bolted for the door, clapping once more before slapping his hands against the wood shattering the door and running through it.

"Shit!" Roy cursed before bolting out the door, Riza right behind him, gun drawn.

Ed hadn't managed to run very far before a wall of flames sprang up in front of him. He grit his teeth as he ran, clapping his hands once more and stopping long enough to slap the ground, causing a wall of dirt to shoot up and collapse over the fire creating a sort of bridge. He didn't get much farther before a shot rang out.

"Ah, fuck!" Ed cursed as pain shot through his right calf. She just HAD to hit the flesh one, he cursed his luck as he fell. The blonde prepared to clap once again but stopped as a gun came into his field of vision.

"I wouldn't," Riza warned, glaring menacingly down at him. Before he could consider moving again, Roy was hauling him to his feet, keeping a tight grip on his wrists as the two led him back into the building.

This time they went into a smaller room further in. The room had a metal table that appeared to be bolted to the floor. Ed was placed in the chair near the table and then Roy was cuffing his hands. He cuffed each hand to a separate leg of the table, ensuring the blonde wouldn't be able to clap anymore. Then Riza left the room for a moment, returning with a first aid kit and cautiously moved to start cleaning the bullet wound in his leg.

"So what exactly is it that you want with me Roy?" Fullmetal asked, allowing himself to slouch into a comfortable position on the chair. "There must be a reason you didn't kill me just now."

"Don't be so sure," Roy glared as he folded his arms on the table from where he sat opposite the blonde.

"Not to mention there's the fact that you only told Hawkeye here and brought me alllll the way out here. You could have easily turned me in back at camp and I could have been arrested in no time flat. All of that makes me think that you want something from me..." Ed grinned. "Don't tell me, it's my body?" Roy smirked.

"The first thing I want, is to know just who the hell you are. I've been after you for a long time and no one has ever been able to tell me so much as what you look like much-less your name. I know it's not Allen Hughes," Roy prompted. No point in lying now, Ed thought.

"Riza has to leave first."

"Hawkeye, wait in the other room please," Roy asked. The woman glanced between them, throwing a mistrustful look at the blonde before nodding and walking out, shutting the door behind her. "Alright," Roy gestured for the younger man to get started.

"My name is Edward Elric."

"Bullshit!" Roy slapped the table. "I want the truth, dammit! There's no way you're the son of Hohenheim!"

"Think again Roy. I'm the only surviving son of that bastard," Ed spat. "My mother was Trisha Elric and I had a little brother named Alphonse as well." Roy sat back in his chair, seemingly stunned. "I grew up in a town called Resembool. Dear old dad was absent nearly my entire life and mom died when we were fairly young. Al...got sick not long after she died. By the time I convinced a doctor to come see him it was too late..." Ed paused, not liking to think about that time. "After that...well, how much do you really wanna know?"

"Everything. How the hell did you end up in Central as Fullmetal? Wasn't there anyone in your home town that could have taken you boys in?"

"The Rockbells probably could have if they hadn't moved away before mom died. No one else in that town gave a crap about us. I was to young to get a job at that time, but I tried my best to take care of Al. After he was gone there was nothing left for me so I burned down the house. That's when I decided to open The Gate..."

"Wait, what?"

"The Gate. It's...a sort of bridge I guess. It can only be opened through human alchemy."

"Is that how you lost your leg and arm?" Ed nodded. "I see."

"I performed the alchemy right outside of our local automail shop and got lucky enough that the man was willing to house me while I recovered and worked to pay off the debt of the surgery and the automail. Once my debt was repaid I made my way to Central. I was still to young for an honest job at the time and I had to make money somehow so I put my talents to use in the underground. Thus Fullmetal was born and Edward Elric died," Ed finished with a shrug of his shoulders.

"This whole time..." Roy sighed, "...I can't believe the man I've been looking for was only 16. I thought for sure it had to be a skilled alchemist in his late thirty's at least."

"Lucky for you he turned out to be so much more handsome than you anticipated, huh?" Ed smirked and Roy rolled his eyes. "I suppose before you lock me up too tight there is one thing I should tell you though..."

"Oh really?" The Colonel deadpanned, expecting another smart ass remark.

"Yes, really Roy," Ed snarked. "I've had a seeker tracking your pal Bradley for a while now." Roy quirked an eyebrow, curious now. "She said he's been meeting with some suspicious characters from a certain country we aren't on the best of terms with at the moment." Roy felt his stomach sink at the implications of that sentence.

"What have these meetings been about?"

"She's been having a hard time getting close, but she was supposed to provide that information next time I'm in town. You should know that the military will never catch her. She'll only show for Fullmetal." Roy sighed heavily. It was time for him to reveal what he really wanted from the blonde.

"Well then...I guess that means we'll just have to work together."

"Haha," Ed chuckled. "I knew there was a reason. What all would working together entail exactly?"

About an hour later Roy opened the door of the room and Riza shot to her feet as Ed stepped out of the room behind him, completely free of his bonds, though limping badly on his wounded leg. She shot a quizzical look at her boss, but said nothing as she turned to follow them both out of the building.

"From now on you will stay within sight of Riza or myself at all times. Is that clear?" Roy ordered as they approached camp a long, and difficult for Ed, walk later. The blonde nodded, gritting his teeth against the pain as he tried to hide the limp so no one else in camp would notice. The plan was for them to go to the front lines the following day and make it look like Ed was shot there. Only then would they seek medical treatment. The two men spent the night in Ed's tent again, though there was no physical contact what-so-ever this time.

A few weeks later, Ed's leg was mostly healed. It was still a bit sore and he would always have a nasty scar there, but that didn't bother him. Today was the day that they would be going back to town which meant that Roy would be forced to leave him alone for a while so he could meet with the seeker. Ed smirked, briefly contemplating using that time to escape, but quickly deciding against it. He had agreed to work with the Colonel and he wouldn't go back on his word this time.

When they reached town a few hours later, Roy broke off to head to the bar where he would wait. Ed wandered the streets a little until he was sure he wasn't being followed before finally making his way to the meeting place. He was led to the same room they had met it last time and he didn't have to wait long before the seeker arrived.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite criminal..." she greeted.

"What do you have for me?" Fullmetal ignored her, wanting to get straight to business. She frowned before handing him a small envelope. He quickly opened it and unfolded a few sheets of paper, scanning the contents.

"A summary of everything I over heard. There were three meetings since I saw you last and I managed to get close enough to listen to the last two. Would you like me to keep listening in?"

"No. This should be enough," Fullmetal answered as he folded the papers back up and tucked them back into the envelope. The woman smiled as he looked up and decided to try her luck just one last time.

"I don't suppose there's any chance of getting a reward for a job well done?" she winked. Fullmetal suddenly smirked, looking more deadly than usual and she gasped as she was suddenly thrown onto the only bed in the room.

"What exactly did you have in mind," the blonde spoke against her neck before biting down and rolling his hips against hers.

"Ha...ngh," she moaned. Her hands were pinned above her head so she settled for wrapping her legs around the blonde's waist, trying to pull him closer. "Take me," she whispered. Ed normally wouldn't consider sleeping with a seeker, but since she wouldn't be alive long enough to talk about and Roy had refused to sleep with him again since their one night together, he decided to let loose just a little. The Colonel would have to wait a little longer at the bar.

Serves him right, Ed smirked as he slid his flesh hand up the woman's thigh pushing her skirt up as he moved. Her legs released their grip on his hips as she spread them further, allowing him easier access. She gasped again as he tore her panties off of her. She realized that he had freed his cock from it's confines at some point because moments after her panties disappeared he was plunging into her, quickly thrusting himself in to the hilt.

"Ah..shit," she hissed as her body received no time to adjust before the criminal was ruthlessly fucking her into the mattress. This was exactly what she expected from him and she loved it. "Fuck, yes!"

"Ah! Hahah," she gasped again, laughing as a blade cut into the skin of her stomach. The cut wasn't deep, just enough to draw blood, but she relished the contrasting sensation of pain over the pleasure of his cock plunging into her over and over. She continued to moan and cry out as new small cuts where added to her chest and arms. Her climax crashed over her like a tidal wave when a cut graced her neck from just below her ear down to her pulse point.

A couple thrusts later she felt the blonde release as he buried himself deep inside her and her eyes widened in fear. "No," she panted, suddenly acutely aware of the odd burning sensation spiraling through her skin from each cut she had received.

"Oh yes," Fullmetal smirked. There was no way this criminal would risk getting a girl pregnant so the woman knew as soon as he had released inside her that she was going to die. From there it only took seconds for her to recognize that the blade he had been using on her was poisoned. As the blonde pulled out and tucked himself back into his pants she felt her vision begin to blacken. "Sleep well," Fullmetal taunted and she had just enough time to realize her heart had stopped before she died.

"Took you long enough..." Roy grumbled when Ed finally joined him at the bar.

"Well, I got what I needed. Let's go," Ed moved toward the exit and Roy followed. Once they were outside Roy noticed a man run into the bar.

"It's terrible!" the man shouted. "They just found a woman dead at the hotel. She was all cut up!" Roy immediately glared at the blonde beside him. Ed shrugged and began to whistle a little tune as they walked back toward camp.
