Chapter 9

Here we have the Epilogue of the Holy Dragon Knight. There might be a sequel to this story when Issei and his comrades return to the DXD world. But for now, it's time to end this story.

The Boars Hat. Ten Years Later.

In the Boars Hat was a young man with dark brown hair and eyes. The man was cleaning the outside of the bar since the former master of the tavern passed it on to him after he decided to retire from the business so he and his wife would become the rulers of Liones.

The bar door opened to reveal a certain red headed girl with two braids that reached to her middle back. She had her maid uniform on and smiled as she wrapped her arms around her master. "Hiii~ Issei. My Master." Issei smiled as he turned to her and kissed her lips. The two moaned as they wrestled with their tongues until a weapon hit Lupisregina on the head.

WHAM!

Lupis had a bump on her head as she turned to see Mono hold a broom in her hand. "Release Issei, horny dog." Lupis glares at the silent doll and growled at her. "Listen you brat! I'm masters first so it's only fair I spend more time with him than you." Mono rose a brow and pushed her chest forward with her arms. "This coming from the girl who's trying to get out of work." Lupis was scared as Issei looked at her accusingly before Lupisregina put her head down. "Okay...I'll get back to cleaning but we do have to make it to others. After all today is the ten year anniversary since the war ended."

Issei nodded and looked at the sky. "It's hard to believe it's only been ten years. I'm glad we were finally able to achieve peace between the races. It wasn't easy but we made it work." Mono and Lupis smiled as they remembered the hardships they went through until a blast of water hit the dragon.

Issei turns to the user and saw a certain turquoise haired girl with a certain magenta haired woman. They wore maid outfits as well and the former was glaring at them while the latter looked as if she was holding in a laugh. "Hey! While we're busy cleaning you three are slacking off. Come on we're on a schedule!" Issei snickered as he remembered Eastin and Camila joined the Boars Hat after the final battle.

Many people did die that day but there were still many of the civilians and Holy Knights who were still alive after the battle. The King was actually protected thanks to Merlin sending him to his brother. Issei and Merlin were able to repair all of the damage done to the kingdom before returning the king.

Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins were pardoned from their crimes that they were framed for and thanked for all they've done for the kingdom. Lilia and Valenty were brought before the King and they pleaded they were guilty and didn't even try to defend themselves. Issei saw the guilt in their eyes and sighed. Issei quickly had a suggestion for the king and the court. Lilia and Valenty would be doing community service to the kingdom while also helping at tavern. Issei was actually given the Boars Hat by Meliodas since he said that he would take th crown and rule the kingdom but after he and Elizabeth went on a long vacation first.

Ban wanted to go travel with Elaine who was brought back to life thanks to Issei. King and Diane decided to rule over the Giants and the Fairies as one. The two had actually gotten closer since their separation from Issei's group. Merlin wanted to stay with Issei and help establish peace in the kingdom.

Zeldris was found by Merlin as well and at first Zeldris was mad at Meliodas for his betrayal until his brother and him fought outside the castle and settled the score with Meliodas winning the fight. Zeldris was then asked to help establish a peace treaty between the races as well since the war ended. Zeldris would comply, especially since his love, the vampire came back to his life and brought out the emotions that he kept tucked away.

Solaad and the remaining Archangels were more than happy to establish peace between the species since they did believe it was time for a change. Solaad was even given the title of being the ruler of the Celestials while he and a council were formed so there would be a second opinion on the matters during the conferences and the treaty.

Issei decided to for a bit and see the rest of the world he was unable to see due to the war. Naga wanted to go back home for a while and tell her mother the news while Jericho and Guila wished to help the next generation of Holy Knights prepare to take over for them. So that left Issei, Lupisregina, Momo, Eastin, Camila, and Gowther joined as well.

Morrigan, Melascula, Derierre, and Alice were asked by Zeldris to help establish peace between the species which they accepted after telling Issei about and he agreed with the proposal. Many years past and Issei had learned to master his holy, demonic, and draconic powers as one. He offered to give the Ten Commandments back to Zeldris but he denied them saying that they corrupted many people for far too long and he trusted to dragon to deal with its power.

After a traveling, Issei had gotten closer to the others as a they traveled and enjoyed their company. He did write letters to Liones and sent magic letters to Meliodas and the others. He even visited a few old places like Salem and her wife as they were back from their honeymoon and had a child on the way. Issei and the others were happy for them as they threw a party in their child's honor.

Issei really enjoyed learning the ropes of the business and making new beer that made even Camila and Lupisregina pass out after one swig. Issei truly did enjoy his life here in this world but was worried about his home. He had worried about Rias and the others but wasn't sure how he could get back. He wanted to take the others with him but didn't know how since like Loki said. Only Ophis and Great Red could open the portal back home. Not even Merlin had a way to help him back home which had him stumped for awhile but he had the others to help him when he was feeling down.

Issei put away the broom as he got ready to brew the beer and prepare for the anniversary party.

After the Party.

Issei and his group were in the tavern wasted as they enjoyed the festivities and the celebration of the peace between the races. Zeldris became the official ruler of the Demons, Solaad, the Ruler of the Archangels, Naga's mother was still around so she remained the leader of the tribe, Meliodas was the Ruler of Liones, and Diane and King were the Leaders of the Giants and Fairies.

The party was a lot of fun and many people were happy as they celebrated peace in their kingdoms. Ban and Elaine got married and were going to have a child which made them happy while Elizabeth, Zeldirs's wife, and Solaad's wife were going to have a child as well.

Issei was happy for them all but seeing them happy as a group reminded him of the ORC and the insane antics they were in most of the time. It wasn't perfect but he still enjoyed it so much. He was wiping the glass until he pondered. "I wonder how their doing right now." The door opens as a large figure steps in.

The figure moved around the drunken folk and laughed lightly as he sat at the bar. "I need a strong drink. One of your most expensive ones." He slapped money on the desk and Issei took it before preparing the drink and giving it to the man. "This is our most popular one. Dragons Breath."

The man sniffed it before chugging it down and the man liked it a lot. "Amazing! I like this very much. Thank you!" A tiny hand hit the mans leg as he sighed. "Yeah and get a juice for the youngling." Issei looked over to see a tiny loli girl who had purple hair and clothes who resembled a Gothic Loli.

The girl had a pouting face as she looked at the man before turning to Issei. "I would like the same drink as him." Issei rubbed the back of his head before saying. "Sorry but that's not for children." The girl growls at him before a purple aura envelops her and she grew to that of a mature woman. "Am I old enough now?" Issei was shocked by the girl before silently nodding. He prepared the drink and gave it to her.

The woman thanked him before taking a swig and her face was red before she coughed at the burning taste. Issei helped her as the man laughed at her. "Told you, that you couldn't take it." The girl stopped as she looked at the man with a glare with red cheeks. "I can take it." She struggled as she took a small sip of it before she saw a glass of water in front of her. She looked at Issei and silently thanked him before returning to his drink.

"Can I get you guys anything to eat? Here's the menu." The man took it and looked it over until he nodded. "I'll take the Pork on Rice Bowl and a kids meal for her. Hahahaha! Ouch!" He glares at the girl who had an innocent expression on her face as she looked at the menu. "I'll have the Boars Hat Special." Issei nodded and quickly got to work. Both the man and woman were amazed at the speed and skills the man had as he cooked in the kitchen.

A few minutes later, Issei came out with the meals and gave them to the duo waiting. "Here's your meal. Enjoy." They nodded in thanks until the man ate his meal like it was a blessing from the Gods while Ophis enjoyed it throughly as she made sure to lick her plate clean of all stains. The man laughed as he complimented on the meal. "Not bad. Not bad at all. You'd make a killing with those skills." The woman nodded as she looked at him and smiled a small one. "It's good to see that your doing well. I'm sure the Gremory Girl will be happy to see you as well." Issei stopped cleaning until he looked at the duo. He had his hands underneath the bar as he conjured a sword of light.

"How do you know that name? Are you with them?" The woman shook her head. "No were not so please put away that sword you have so we can talk." Issei looked at him before silently putting the sword away. "Start talking."

The man put down his finished bowl and smiled. "We know who you are because we're here to take you back to your world." Issei's eyes widened as he heard this and asked. "But the only ones who can do that are Great Red and Ophis..." He was shocked until he pointed to them and the man smiled. "Pleasure to meet you, Issei Hyoudou." Issei couldn't believe that the two strongest beings of his world were here in front of him.

"Wait! You mean I can go back home?" The Dragon nodded. Issei was happy until realizing he'd have to say goodbye to the others. He looked at them and asked. "Can I say goodbye first before leaving?" Red nodded. "Of course you can. It's only fair that you say your farewells to your allies and friends you made."

Issei thanked him before the two left the tavern. Issei was happy to be able to go back home but was worried about the others. "I'll tell them tomorrow."

The Next Day

Issei was in the kings castle as he was surrounded by his friends that he made there and told them the news. Great Red and Ophis introduced themselves at the meeting and they were shocked. Elizabeth asked. "You plan on going home?"

Issei looked at them and nodded. "I do. I am happy to be with all of you here and I truly appreciate everything that you've all done for me but I can't leave my home when I know they need me." He bowed to them all and apologized. "I'm sorry but I want to go back and protect the ones I love there as well. I'm sorry."

Meliodas looked at him with a blank look and walked over to him before putting a hand on his shoulder. "It's fine." Issei's eyes widened as he looked at Meliodas and the others who smiled as well. "We knew that one day you would go back home and while it's true that we would miss you. The acts you've done for us and the kingdom shall not be forgotten. You'll always have a place here in Liones and if you ever do drop by come look us up."

Issei didn't know what to do but smile and laugh before hugging his brotherly figure Meliodas. "Thanks brother. It means a lot hearing it from you." The others were happy for him and while it would hurt to see a friend leave they knew he would be fine.

Issei stood on the mountain in front of the Boars Hat and made sure everything was ready for their departure. He was happy with everything in place as he looked to see Lupisregina, Eastin, Camila, Roxy, Mono, and Gowther there with him. They smiled as they looked at the kingdom before heading to the tavern for their departure.

"Hey! Wait Up! Don't leave without us! Issei! Lupisregina!"

The group turned to see Jericho, Guila, Naga rush to them as they panted to catch their breath. Issei was shocked to see the three of them here. "Wait what are you guys doing here? Aren't you apart of the kingdom's Holy Knights?"

Jericho and Guila smiled as they explained that Gilthunder, Howzer, Griamore, and their apprentices would take over for them and help the next generation while Naga told him that her mother let her go with him. She knew her mother would do much better after the medicine that Merlin gave her.

A portal opened as well to reveal Merlin with Lilia, Valenty, Morrigan, Alice, Melascula, and Derrière. "Don't think your forgetting us. We said we would come with you when you leave heading home and nows the time to go with you." Issei was surprised until he smiled. "Welcome to the team everyone."

The girls smiled as they followed Issei to the tavern and the Dragon Gods opened the portal which let Issei tell the giant boar to fly. They flew to the portal and Issei looked out the window to see the others waving at him which he smiled as he and the others waved back. The pig flew through the portal and they encountered a bit of a bumpy ride until the portal opened to reveal a town that was familiar to the Dragon.

Issei went outside and smiled as he saw the town that he so dearly. "I'm home. Kuoh Town."

The Red Dragon Emperor had returned home to his family.
