Chapter 10 – Time to go back to school
Wednesday morning was rough no one wanted to get up and get ready. Especially not Elizabeth. She was probably the hardest to get up which just made Henry laugh. They got the kids off to school and made it to the college. Henry dropped Elizabeth off at her office and then drove over to his.
"Hey, Elizabeth, how was your break" Mike B asked coming into her office
"It was pretty great Mike how about yours" Elizabeth asked Mike knowing how things were going when they had left the Christmas party.
"well, we filed for divorce and don't feel special Elizabeth your only 1 of about 15 women my wife is accusing me of having an affair with"
"did you have an affair with any of them Mike?" Elizabeth questioned him
"nope but she will never believe me, and I am tired of fighting about it" Mike responded
Elizabeth heard a little tiny bark when she noticed Mike had a new puppy. "oh, ya this is Gordan"
Elizabeth sat on the floor and petted Gordan. They became fast friends.
Mike went back to his office and Elizabeth got to work when she heard her phone ding.

Elizabeth smiled and messaged Henry back

It's not fair they let us be together for two weeks straight and then we have to separate H xoxo
Just till lunch babe and then we can meet in the cafeteria E xoxox

The rest of the morning dragged on very slowly. Elizabeth was having an extremely hard time focusing knowing what was coming. There was a knock on her door. She was excited thinking Henry had come for an early lunch but was disappointed when she opened the door, and it was a student.
"Hi, my name is Ray Merchant and I need to see if I can get a Late acceptance into your intro to world politics class"
"come on in let me check my class roaster and see if I have an opening" Elizabeth responded.
Ray went to shut the door and the hair on Elizabeth's neck stood up.
"you can leave that door open it will just be a second" Elizabeth informed him. She did not want to be shut in a room with him and was now secretly hoping the class was full. She had one spot left and so she went ahead and signed his paper. The way he was looking at her made her feel like she was his prey. She told him she would see him in class, but he just sat there.
"Is there something else I can help you with Ray" Elizabeth asked.
She texted mike at the same time to come to her office something was just off about this student and Mike was closest to her office. Ray just sat there staring until Mike B knocked on the door. Ray stood up quickly and exited the office.
"What the hell was that?" Mike B asked giving a concerned look to Elizabeth.
She explained what had happened and how something was just off about him.
"aww so you called me to be your knight and shining armor" Mike joked.
"You wish just if he was going to kill me thought maybe you would like to watch" She joked back.
Right then Henry walked in. "Who is going to kill you?"
Elizabeth tried to play it off like it was no big deal knowing her husband would be overprotective and worry. Mike explained to Henry what Elizabeth had told him knowing Elizabeth was way to stubborn to tell Henry what had actually happened. Elizabeth gave Mike a look that could kill. Henry tried to keep his cool, but they could both tell he was angry. Elizabeth promised to keep aware and if anything, else happened she would report it. She was able to calm Henry down by convincing Henry that she would tell Ray he had to have an appointment and would have another staff close by incase she needed back up.
Once Mike left room, they sat down to have their lunch.
"I thought your lunch was already here" Elizabeth teased Henry.
"you're my dessert, I need substance first so I have plenty of stamina" Henry teased back.
They continued to tease and joke with each other while eating lunch. Elizabeth finished her lunch and stood up ready to lock the door behind her when there was a knock on the door. She opened it and it was again Ray.
"Ray what can I help you with I don't have office hours right now"
"I know I am sorry I just wanted to see if I could also get a late acceptance into your post war politics and the cold war" Ray asked
He couldn't see Henry sitting in her office and he tried to push his way in the office, but Elizabeth held the door.
"why don't you have a seat out here in the hall and I will check really quick".
She left the door a little bit open and went to sit at her computer. When Ray opened the door and walked right into Henry.
"Hey buddy I think she asked you to wait in the hallway" Henry warned him
"Oh sorry I thought she wanted me to come in" Ray responded.
Elizabeth pretended to check her class schedule.
"Hey sorry buddy that class is full as are all my classes this semester" Elizabeth told Ray trying to be kind but firm.
Their lunch hour was over and Elizabeth was mad that Henry didn't get his dessert but she had office hours and knew a few students would be stopping by.
The rest of the day dragged on very slowly. Elizabeth had office hours from 1-4 and then a department meeting at 4. During the department meeting Mike B decided he would bring up Ray to the other professors wondering if they had any background information on him. He was only a freshman, so they didn't know a whole lot about him just he was a little off. Elizabeth explained that he had come back again and what had happened over lunch. They started a group chat so that if Ray showed up to her office everyone would know, and someone could be standing by. The department head stated she would look more into it. Elizabeth was teaching 5 different classes this semester and Ray seemed to be in all of them except the Post war politics during the cold war class that she had said was full. He was in the rest of her classes. These classes were lecture classes and had about 100 students in them so she shouldn't have a whole lot of one-on-one contact at least she hoped. They would be forming study groups so if he needed help, he should be going to his study group first.
When 5' o'clock rolled around Elizabeth was more than ready to go home for the day. Henry was waiting by her office when she got there. She told him about the department meeting and how Mike had informed the team and they had a group text so they could communicate. She also told him how Ray was in 4 out of 5 of her classes this semester but he was in the 4 big lectures and it wasn't a small group class as she had told him that one was full.
Henry and Elizabeth went home. When they got home, Elizabeth changed her clothes and went out to the barn. She road Butter cup for a little bit and let the other horses out to the pasture so they could run for a while.
When she came back in Supper was done and they sat down and had dinner together. The kids told all about their day at school and Ali asked if she could join soccer. Stevie wanted to join basketball. They signed their permission slips. After supper Elizabeth and Henry cleaned up while the kids cleaned up the living room.
When the house was cleaned up, Henry and Jason sat and played with cars while Elizabeth, Ali, and Stevie went out to bring the horses in and get them put to bed. Mitch still had the rest of the week off but would be back next Monday.
Henry had Jason clean up his toys and got his bath going. When Elizabeth came in with the girls, she had Stevie and Ali sit down and get started on their homework and went up with Henry to do bedtime routine with Jason. After his bath they got him in jammies and Elizabeth laid with him while Henry read to him. Jason didn't like to snuggle much anymore but he would at bedtime and Elizabeth wanted to hang on to that for as long as possible.
When Ali was done with her sheet of homework, she came up to get in the bath. After her bath Henry braided her hair and Elizabeth helped her pick out her clothes for the next day. They then sat together and read to Ali.
Stevie's homework took a little longer she had math homework and Elizabeth went down to check it and help her with the problems she couldn't do. After her homework Stevie went up and took a shower while Henry locked up the house and Elizabeth made sure the coffee was set up for the morning and the house was cleaned up.
After Stevie's shower Henry braided her hair also and then he and Elizabeth sat with her and Stevie read them a couple chapters from Little house on the prairie the latest book they were reading together. They said their goodnights and Elizabeth and Henry went to their room.
Elizabeth went to get changed and wash her face and brush her teeth. Henry pulled off his jeans and Jacket and put them in the laundry. He then stood in the doorway staring at Elizabeth.
"what?" Elizabeth asked self consciously
"your just so beautiful and I can't believe that I get to love you and be your partner and the father to those 3 perfect, sweet kiddos." Henry answered as he walked over and wrapped his arms around her waste from behind.
"Perfect kiddos huh?" Elizabeth teased pushing her butt into Henry.
"yes babe there perfect" Henry nibbled on her ear and kissed down her jaw line moving into her sweet spot.
Elizabeth spit out her toothpaste and rinsed out her mouth. She turned around and lightly pushed him away and told him to get ready for bed and she would meet him there giving him a wink
"remember I still owe you dessert" Henry growled and slapped her butt as she walked towards there room.
Henry went to the bathroom and brushed his teeth "should I really be brushing my teeth before dessert?" Henry asked teasing Elizabeth.
Elizabeth went to check on the kids one more time wanting to make sure Stevie was asleep. She came back into the room locking the door behind her.
Elizabeth was laying in the middle of the bed naked. Henry walked into the bedroom from the bathroom and just stood in the doorway again gawking at her.
"if you don't get over here the dessert bar will be closing" Elizabeth warned him.
Henry ran over to the bed and jumped on it. He laid on his side and gave her a sweet kiss on the side of her lips. He kissed her again this time with more passion. He sucked in and bit her bottom lip. He climbed on her kissing her with love and passion she moaned into his mouth using her hands to hold him close not wanting to let him go.
