"I have to go. Will I see you later"? Sookie asked hopeful.

"Yes" Eric answered in a haze.

"Good. Bye". She then left out the back door of Fangtasia.

"What just happened"? Pam asked walking out of the office.

"I'm not quite sure". Eric told her still looking at the back door that Sookie departed out of

"I'm back. Thanks for the clothes". Sookie handed the dress and the boots back to Kelly.

"Anytime that I can get out of closing duties, it's my pleasure". She replied before she took the clothes and walked down the hall to gather her things to go home.

"Why are you the only one here"? Sam asked walking into the dining room.

"I owed Kelly a favor".

"Must have been important" Sam commented gathering the salt and pepper shakers.

"It was".

"I hope you know what you are doing".

"I do. Don't worry about me. I trust Eric with my life". She assured him.

"That's why I worry about you".

"It's why you really shouldn't". Sookie walked to the kitchen with her tray of shakers before Sam could get in another word.

When Eric arrived at Sookie's home, he could feel her anger. He immediately took to the sky. He knew that Sookie would protect the shifter but he would still deliver his warning.

Sookie was walking to her vehicle when Eric landed.

"Eric? Why didn't you wait for me at the house"?

"I felt your anger".

"It was nothing to worry about. Drive me home, please"? She reached for his hand to guide him to her SUV.

"Sookie…" Sam came outside.

Eric took steps towards Sam. Sookie jumped in front of him and placed her hand on his chest.

"I told him that I trusted you with my life. Do not make me look foolish". She pleaded.

Eric cupped her cheek with his hand and kissed her temple while never taking his eyes off of Sam.

Sookie had tears of anger rolling down her face. Eric had tainted a once sweet gesture with pure jealousy. Once Eric dropped his hand from her face. She walked to the driver's side of her vehicle and climbed in after she opened the door. She then closed the door quickly before driving home.

"Eric Northman, I rescind your invitation into my home".

Eric touched down in Sookie's driveway as she parked her vehicle. She quickly got out of her SUV and closed the door before climbing the stairs to her house.

"Sookie". Eric called after her.

She ignored him as she entered her home.

Eric quickly at human speed climbed the stairs of her porch and opened the front door. "Sookie" He called again before running into an invisible wall.

"Sookie, invite me in". He demanded from the doorway.

"No, I defended you and you made me look like a fool"!

"He will never stop"! Eric growled.

"And that is for me to deal with not you". She gave him one last look before turning away from him.

"You are mine"! Eric had both hands on the door frame trying to lean in as far as he was allowed.

Sookie turned from her path to look him in the eyes. "Not anymore"!

"You need me to protect you"!

Sookie walked up to Eric just out of reach. "I would rather die than be marked like territory". She replied before slamming the door,

Pam drove up Sookie's driveway and then parked her car. She quickly got out of the vehicle and shut the door.

"Eric, are you alright"? She asked as she examines his appearance.

"Yes, Sookie won't let me in the house".

"And you couldn't call me on the phone instead of through the sire bond, scaring me half to true death"?

"I was too angry. I didn't think". He admitted.

"What happened"? Pam crossed her arms waiting for the story.

"The shifter…"

"Excuse me?! The Eric Northman is all messed up in the head because of the shifter"?

"He will not leave Sookie alone". He answered defensively.

"It doesn't matter. She would only be working for him a few days more. Then she would be working for you like you wanted". She scolded.

"Speak to her". Eric commanded after deciding that Pam was not going to take his side.

"How am I supposed to fix this"? Pam held out her arms in frustration.

"Go, speak to her". He commanded.

"Yes, master". She walked to the porch steps and began to climb them to Sookie's front door.

She reached the door and cautiously turned the knob. The door opened. Pam decided to test her invitation before running head first into an invisible wall. She carefully stuck her foot through the doorway and then proceeded into the house.

"Sookie"? She called.

"In here". Sookie walked out of the kitchen in a robe and pajamas with puffy eyes.

"What is going on"?

Sookie tapped her ear with her finger and then motioned for Pam to sit at the table in the dining room.

Pam sat at the table while Sookie retrieved pen and paper from the drawer of the desk.

He practically hiked his leg and peed on me in front of Sam. She wrote after sitting down in front of Pam at the table.

Pam took the notebook and quickly read before writing He is new to this. You have to talk to him.

Sookie took the paper from Pam and began to write. I already have. This isn't the first time that he has acted out his jealousy. I have defended him. I quit my job for him. I dropped everything for him tonight. I was going to marry him but now, I don't see how I can. A tear rolled down her cheek and onto the paper as she wrote the last sentence.

Pam took the notebook and read what Sookie wrote. She didn't know what to say or write. This was very unfamiliar territory. "I need a moment away from the leaking. It's making me uncomfortable".

Sookie nodded her understanding before Pam stood from her chair and left the room. Pam had opened and was in the process of closing the front door when Eric sped up the bottom of the steps.

"I don't hear talking". He growled.

"That's because we are passing notes across the dining room table like school girls".

"What does she not want me to hear"? He demanded.

Pam held her arms out as she took the steps down to Eric. "How upset that she is".

"I can feel how upset that she is". He exasperated.

"But you do not know her thoughts".

"No, I do not".

"You need to talk to her".

"She won't let me in the house".

"Stand in the doorway" She told him before she go into her car and left.

Eric went up the stairs and then went to knock on Sookie's front door.

She came to the door and opened it. She stood there silent. She would not be the first to speak.

Eric took in her appearance and silence. It was going to be a long night. "I have offended you".

"You have" He was not going to get any help from her.

"How do I obtain favor with you"? He asked slowly, carefully choosing his words.

"Not like this".

"What do you want me to do Sookie"? He gave up.

"Stop all of the mess with Sam".

"He is a shifter and I am a vampire. There is an order".

"And I…" She pointed to herself. "Not a vampire but a Fae princess has respected your place in that order. I have bowed down to your queen because I care for you.

"Sookie, as a vampire sheriff, I will not be disrespected by a shifter".

"I have my own crown! Where is yours"?! She couldn't take him not understanding how he expected her to step out of the order for him but not him for her and on a much smaller scale.

"I had a human crown". He defended.

"You're not a human anymore. You are better. You are a vampire. Where is your vampire crown"?

"I am only a sheriff. You know that I have no crown".

"Then you might need to get off your high horse. Your little gesture with Sam broke my heart".

"Sookie I didn't mean to hurt you".

"I know but when you took something that was so sweet and shoved it in Sam's face. It hurt".

"Sookie come here". He gesture towards himself.

She reluctantly came to him and wrapped her arms around him inside of his jacket.

"I'm sorry". He kissed the top of her head.

"I'm ready to go to bed, Eric Northman will you please come in"? She released him and then held out her hand. He gladly accepted it before coming into the house and closing the door behind him He then let her lead him to the cubby.

Eric climbed down first. When he reached the bottom, he stepped forward and began to remove his jacket and shoes while Sookie climbed down. He walked over to the bed and turned down the covers before climbing into the bed.

Sookie climbed into bed beside him. She laid her head on his still chest.

Eric covered them both with the covers before he pushed her hair out of her face. Sookie closed her eyes at his touch. He kissed the top of her head. "Good sleep, Sookie".
