Part 9: Plots in Nishinomiya

*North High School- Student Council*

"I'm so sorry, Nagato-san," Ryoko Asakura shook her head. "I felt my connection with Assassin disappear... she failed." She was sitting at a table with the human Yuki Nagato, Tsuruya and Kimidori, Iskander sitting by his master while Gilgamesh stood off to the side.

"No..." Tears leaked out of Yuki's eyes. "Kyon-kun...!"

"This is unacceptable!" Kimidori growled in frustration, slapping her hands on the table. "First Nagato-san loses Caster, and now this! Just who are these unknown servants and their Master?!"

"That Master didn't look very impressive himself," Gilgamesh muttered. "And yet, he not only commands multiple servants, he somehow managed to summon Ishtar, of all people! The other servants I could handle on my own, but her...!"

"You saids there was another servant that blocked your 'throw-everything-but-the-kitchen-sinks' attack, rights?" Tsuruya spoke up.

"Mongrel! Do not disparage my Gate of Babylon in such a manner!" Gilgamesh yelled angrily.

"She's not exactly far off the mark, Archer," Iskandar pointed out.

"Is that a challenge, Rider?!"

"Enough!" Kimidori stood to her feet. "King Gilgamesh, you will stand down! We cannot be torn apart by petty bickering! And that goes for you too, Rider!"

"...hmph, at least you show me the proper respect, Master," Gil grumbled, turning away.

"Fine, we can settle our dispute later," Iskandar ceded. "So, if these guys have aligned themselves with the Kyouoen faction, that's big trouble for us... our best option would be to try and catch them off-guard somehow."

"B-but how could we do that? Assassin tried and look what happened to her!" Yuki pointed out. Just then, her phone rang. "Huh...? Ah! It's Kyon-kun!" Quickly answering, she spoke, "Kyon-kun, is that you? Are you okay?!"

"Yo, Nagato. I'm fine," Kyon answered. "Nothing to worry about."

"Put it on speaker," Kimidori ordered. This Yuki did, the greenette then speaking, "Kyon-san, it's Kimidori. Where are you?"

"Back home," Kyon replied. "Assassin held off the enemy and snuck me out of the house. I didn't get captured."

"Oh, thank goodness..." Yuki heaved a sigh of relief.

"Well, it's good to know Assassin's efforts weren't in vain," Ryoko noted grimly.

"Yeah, I'm sorry, Asakura-san, she didn't make it. Some Caster with Nagato's face skewered her..."

"That matches up with the Nagato-chi Rider saw, nyoro," Tsuruya spoke up.

"It's possible this Caster used magic to disguise her face, in order to lure Nagato's Caster into an ambush," Kimidori mused. "This enemy is devious indeed... listen, Kyon-san, for your own safety, don't come to school tomorrow. Just... go to the library or something. We can't afford to take any chances with this Master."

"Alright, if you insist, Kimidori-san," Kyon agreed. "But what about Nagato?"

"She'll stay with mes!" Tsuruya exclaimed. "Rider and I'll make sure your girlfriend stays safes, that's a promise!"

"Th-thank you," Yuki bowed her head in gratitude.

"...Okay, I'll leave her to you, Tsuruya-san. Nagato, hang in there, okay? Be strong!"

"O-okay," Yuki nodded. "Stay safe, Kyon-kun..."

"I will, I promise," Kyon said, before saying goodbye and hanging up. "...I'm sorry, Nagato. I hate to lie to you like that..."

*The next day...*

"Ah, so you deliberately misled Kimidori-san with selective phrases?" Koizumi asked Kyon as they ate some light breakfast at a table in the library cafe. Medusa and Yuki were sitting at another table, with their noses buried in hardcovers. Ritsuka and Mash were also sitting together, sharing some breakfast. Lastly Mordred and Dantes were seated at a table by the window, the former reading an old comic book while the latter read the newspaper, the two doing their best to ignore each other, as well as Ishtar floating outside (she had been kicked out for making too much noise, and Cu was staying with her to make sure she didn't draw too much attention).

"Right, I told them I wasn't captured, because technically I wasn't," Kyon affirmed. "I still feel bad for deceiving Nagato like that, though."

"It is fine," the alien Yuki looked up from her book. "After all, your intention was to put my fears to rest, correct?"

"...Yeah," Kyon agreed. "So, how are we gonna do this again?"

"Simple, one of Fujimaru-san's servants chases you onto Kyouoen grounds, while I get Suzumiya-san to come outside under a plausible pretense. Then, once Saber 'saves' you, you stab Suzumiya-san and remove the contract. The others will take it from there."

"Yeah, except Haruhi's probably gonna wonder why I'm carrying a strange blade on me," Kyon argued.

"Do not worry. I will transport Rule Breaker into your possession once you are in position," Yuki told him. "But when the time comes, do not hesitate. Understood?"

"Understood," Kyon nodded grimly. "But who's gonna chase me?"

"Not Dantes, he's too fast," Medusa spoke up. "Mash doesn't look very threatening, so she's out as well."

"Yeah, being chased by a cute girl, I'd probably be in more danger from Haruhi, not to mention my Nagato if she found out," Kyon snarked. Then suddenly something occurred to him... "Oh no... I just thought of a way to make the chase scene authentic, but I'm not gonna like it..."

"What do you mean by that, Kyon-kun?" Koizumi asked.

And when Kyon explained his idea, Itsuki understood all too well...

*Later, at Kyouoen...*

"Koizumi-san is in position," Yuki informed the party, who were standing across from the front gate.

"Right, so which of us is chasing this guy?" Mordred asked, standing with Ritsuka, Mash and Dantes.

"You are, Miss Mordred," Kyon said deliberately, "because you're the sissiest sissy girl I've ever met!"

"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Mordred bellowed in rage, only to restrained by Mash grabbing her around the waist, Ritsuka and Dantes grabbing her arms! "Leggo of me! He deserves to die!"

"Ten-second head start!" Kyon called to Yuki as he ran off.

"Understood," Yuki nodded, materializing a stopwatch... once the allotted time had passed, she clicked it off. "Go!" Mordred was promptly released, the blonde saber summoning Clarent as she gave chase, screaming in rage!

Meanwhile, just outside the school proper, Haruhi and Koizumi came jogging through the side entrance. "You said you think you saw one of the North High servants?!" Haruhi queried.

"I'm quite certain I did," Koizumi nodded. "Oh, look, isn't that Kyon-kun?" he pointed, Haruhi turning to look in that direction, and sure enough...

"HELP! She's gonna kill me!" Kyon cried in distress as Mordred chased him down!

"Call me a sissy girl, will you?!" Mordred yelled after him! "Die, bastard!"

"Saber, protect Kyon!" Haruhi invoked a command spell, the blackened Artoria immediately appearing between the two, deflecting Mordred's blade! "Kyon, over here!" She beckoned him over.

"Dammit, not you again! Outta my way!" Mordred yelled as her blade clashed with Excalibur Morgan!

"Naughty children need to be disciplined," Saber Alter said dispassionately, shoving Mordred back. "Your punishment shall be death at my blade!"

"No way, you twisted not-Father!" Mordred shot back as she went on the attack, her slashes easily parried!

Kyon panted heavily as his pace slowed, making his way over to Haruhi and Koizumi. "Thanks..." he gasped out.

"My, what did you do to earn that woman's ire, Kyon-kun?" Koizumi said with a knowing smirk.

"Shut up," Kyon grunted as he collapsed into Haruhi's arms.

"Whoa, geez, you're heavier than you look!" Haruhi grunted as she struggled to hold Kyon up. "I mean, I get you're tired, but at least warn me before you try to fall on top of me!"

"Sorry..." Kyon sighed, feeling Rule Breaker appear in his hand. "Forgive me, Haruhi..." Abruptly standing straight, he stabbed Haruhi lightly in the arm!

"OW! What the hell, Kyon?!" Haruhi cried as she gripped her upper bicep, failing to notice the command spells vanishing from her hand.

"Gah!" Mordred cried as she was thrown on her back, Clarent falling out of her reach. "Dammit!"

"And now, you die." Saber Alter raised her sword above her head... only to stagger and fall to a knee! "Wh-what...? NO! The contract!"

"NOW!" Mordred yelled as she rolled away, Ishtar and Dantes materializing nearby as Mash ran up with shield in hand!

"A trap...!" the blackened Artoria gasped as she willed herself back to her feet, using her sword to deflect Ishtar's arrows!

"Oh no! Saber- MMPH!" Haruhi tried to run to her servant, only for Koizumi to shove a chloroform cloth over her face!

"I'm sorry for this, Suzumiya-san," Koizumi lamented, "but this is for your own good..." Fortunately, it didn't take long for his fellow student to fall unconscious, he and Kyon gently lowering her to the ground. "Let's get her inside, for her safety."

"And ours!" Kyon appended, the two dragging the prone Haruhi inside the school.

"Master!" Saber Alter cried, attempting to follow, only for Dantes to block her path, blasting her back with dark energy!

"Don't worry, it'll all be over soon," the Count of Monte Cristo grinned savagely. "Just accept death!"

"NEVER!" Saber cried defiantly, swinging her sword at the avenger, who dodged effortlessly! The blackened Artoria then cried out as she was blasted from behind by Ishtar, falling to a knee!

"Too bad, Saber, but without your Master, you're a sitting duck!" the goddess taunted as she fired more shots from Maanna, Saber Alter barely rolling aside! "Don't expect a white knight to come and save you!"

But just then, a staff covered in dark energy hit her in the face, knocking her off her boat! "OW! Who did that?!" Ishtar yelled as she held her nose.

"Gugugugugugugu-!" An incomprehensible voice yelled, a dark knight with a red visor appearing over the horizon!

"Oh no! It's Lancelot!" Mash cried as she readied her shield to intercept...
