Predicaments

The branches rustled and the birds chirped as the early morning came in. She stirred a bit before her eyelids slowly opened. She stared off with a small smile as she recalled last night. They were growing as a couple. "He carried me and everything... I even told him I love him." ...Wait, what? She threw her blanket off and sat up, fully awake. "I told him I love you?!" She was so peaceful and dozing off that she wasn't thinking about what she was saying, she just blurted it. "I'm such an idiot!" She whined, turning around and falling back on the bed, burying her face in her pillow and kicking her feet. "Now he probably thinks I'm the clingy type! He's supposed to think I'm cute!" But then she thought about the most important thing. "What did he say back?" Trying to remember if he replied to her confession.

"Mina was too cute last night..." He whispered to himself, having woken up early because he couldn't stop thinking about his girlfriend. He didn't know if she was awake or asleep but when she said it her voice was soft yet distinct. He pressed his fingers to his lips. "Like her quirk." He rolled over, staring at the ceiling. "But she said she loves me..." It was also killing him because as stated, he didn't know if she was awake or not. He had been over analyzing all night and morning of what both options meant. If she was awake then why was that the last thing she said, and how did she say it so naturally? But if she was asleep, "Then why did she say it... and why was it so natural?" He rolled over on his bed annoyed at the fact that the same questions had different meanings depending on her being conscious or not.

They both thought about their midnight ride as they got ready for school. It was the usual hectic breakfast except for the continuing awkward tension coming from the dynamics of their friends. Kirishima and Uraraka were kind of upset that Mina and Izuku just ditched them. Bakugo had talked to Kirishima, and figured that he probably had a falling out with Deku, he would probably have to talk to him also to clear the air before the bubble burst.

Momo, herself, had tried talking to Uraraka, she was even the one who called her Izuku last night to make sure they got home, Momo didn't go to sleep until Izuku messaged her that they were home safe. She had even thought of checking on their rooms personally but decided against it after realizing how immoral it would be to visit him in the middle of the night. Instead, she thought about it under the sheets before going to sleep.

Although Izuku and Mina weren't aware of their friends' atmosphere due to their own internal problems. They were sitting next to each other but felt far apart. Mina didn't know if Izuku heard her sleepy 'I love you,' and Izuku didn't know if Mina was aware she said it. Neither of them knew how to bring up the subject, it was too embarrassing.

'I-love-yous are supposed to be special and romantic not this nerve-wracking mess!' Mina internally whined at her blunder. Izuku was in a similar situation trying not to over-analyze, while subtly trying to figure out if Mina was awake or not when she said it. They were walking to class like a normal cute couple smiling and talking to each other but it was just surface level, they were actually trying to figure out how the other one felt after she accidentally dropped the love bomb on them.

Classes were kind of a relief because they were able to gather their thoughts while having some space from each other. During lunch, they had decided to sit at their different group tables, at that point both were aware of the awkwardness. Their friends were surprised that they decided to sit with them but welcomed it, even Uraraka and Kirishima, actually those two appeared the happiest about it. Izuku and Mina were able to relax a little, from talking and goofing with their friends. The stress relief was able to give them the encouragement to have a talk after school about their situation. It was a cute coincidence when they both suggested to walk to the park where they made their relationship official.

They were holding hands but weren't holding much of a conversation. They reached the park and sat on the swings. She weakly rocked back and forth, kicking the sand beneath her. Izuku was loosely holding the chain links as he stared up at the sky. They both had a light tint over their cheeks as they tried to bring up yesterday.

"S-So Mina-," He hesitated as he tried to ask, but his throat was drying from nervousness.

"Y-Yeah Izuku?" Usually, she wouldn't stutter but she had a feeling the question was coming and the anticipation was growing in her chest as she clenched the chains.

"Uh, last night," He scratched his cheeks trying to hide the growing blush, "Y-You said something."

"Oh, I did? Y-You know I was really tired last night, the last thing I remember was resting on your lap, how did you get me to my room? Ah, hahaha." She wanted to laugh off the excuse but she didn't even buy it.

His eyes widened because he was dense and gullible enough to believe her, "W-Well I carried you to school and then used full cowling when we were close and snuck in through the sky, it was lucky that the door to your balcony was unlocked. I hope I didn't wake you. I tried to be as gentle as possibl-,"

He was interrupted by her bursting out into a fit of giggles because of mumblings. "Oh my God, you're too cute babe!"

"Huh?"

Mina's laughter let up but she kept a smile. "Actually Izuku..." She turned to him. He turned to her. They were facing each other with locked eyes. The wind rustled the chain links as her lips parted as she began to speak but before she could someone called out to them.

"I-Izuku, is that you?"

He tensed hearing her voice, he turned away from Mina to the one who called them out. She was in front of the park, staring at them with a confused blush.

"M-Mom?!"
