The Journey Home – Farmhouse – Quantico, VA –

"Tighter! Pull it tighter!" Kevin ordered.

Savannah was terrified but she pulled the plastic ties around Derek's wrists tighter. Kevin had forced her to be his accomplice by binding Derek's feet and wrist so that he was no longer a threat. The deranged man felt sure that no one would find them there and no one would be able to stop him from doing what he wished to either Derek or Savannah.

"Now." Kevin approached to check her work. "Good Sav; good work."

"You're not going to get away with this Lynch!" Derek growled.

"Lynch! I've always hated it when you called me Lynch!"

"That is your name, right?"

"Shut up, or I'll gag you too!"

"Why Kevin; why are you doing this?" Savannah asked tearfully.

Kevin turned and approached Savannah. He was so close that she could feel his breath on her face.

"Because I need to show you that Derek Morgan isn't the man you think he is. I'm the man who loves you, not him!"

Derek tried to work his hands against the ties around his wrists. Kevin and Savannah were both distracted, and he knew that he was running out of time.

"I've always been honest with you Kevin; I love Derek..."

"I don't want to hear it, Savannah! It makes me sick to hear you say that you love him!" Kevin yelled in her face.

Savannah flinched as she shot a glance toward Derek. Kevin's eyes followed hers and saw that Derek had nearly freed his hands.

Derek felt the butt of the gun slam against the side of his face. He heard Savannah scream and then Kevin hit him again. Derek's vision became blurry as he tried in vain to fight against the pain.

"Kevin PLEASE! Don't hurt him, please!"

Kevin raised the gun to strike Derek again, then with the gun suspended above his head, he stopped and stared down at his target.

"What are you willing to do to save his life?"

"What?"

"What are you willing to do to save his life?" Kevin repeated.

"I...I..."

Kevin turned toward her and approached her again. She saw the sick look as his eyes slowly scanned her body.

"I can think of a few things that you could do that might convince me to spare his life." He snickered.

"Don't do this." Morgan pleaded.

"There's only one condition...he has to watch."

The team had followed their hunch and headed toward Virginia. An hour into the drive Mavis called with a possible location for Kevin; an old worn-down farmhouse about 100 miles outside of Quantico. No one wanted to say out loud that they were afraid that they'd be too late or that the location would be wrong. They didn't say it; not one of them, but they all thought it, nonetheless.

"Remind me to request her transferred to the BAU, permanently." Hotch began.

"Mavis; she's a character, but she's good at what she does." Dave added.

"Yes, she is." Hotch agreed.

"What do you think Kevin is planning?" Reid asked.

"According to what Mavis found, he's had a thing for Savannah for a while now." Said JJ.

"When agents got to his apartment, there was a bedroom with pictures of Savannah on all of the walls. The pictures with Savannah and Derek had Derek's face X'd out. I think that tells us what he's planning on doing." Hotch answered.

"The closest law enforcement is an hour and a half from their location and we're forty minutes away now." Dave said.

"Memory or no memory, Morgan can take care of himself." JJ added.

"Guys, there are no statistics to prove that a person with retrograde amnesia can defend themselves!" Reid noted.

It was quiet again; Hotch checked his watch and looked at Reid. There was so much he wanted to say starting with, I'm sorry but sorry wasn't enough.

"So, what's it going to be Sav?"

"Don't do it, Savannah! Don't give him what he wants. This is all about power!" Derek pleaded.

"Shut up, Derek!" Kevin warned angrily.

"He doesn't love you! He just wants to win but he's a coward! He's going to kill me anyway."

Kevin lowered the gun and placed it against Derek's temple. The anger radiated from him like smoke. He needed to beat Derek and he needed an audience.

"Savannah, I need your answer. What are you willing to do to save his life?"

Trembling, Savannah moved closer to Kevin; his smile grew as she got closer until he could touch her.

"Savannah don't do this; I'm not worth it. He doesn't love you!"

Kevin slowly ran his hand down the side of her face. Her tears and the fear in her eyes gave him the courage to kiss her. Kevin felt her jerk and stiffen, but it was the disgust in her eyes that made the difference.

"You think you're better than me, don't you Savannah?"

"Kevin, please think about what you're doing."

"I have thought about it. I've thought about ripping your clothes to shreds and running my hands across your body then making love to you. So, yes oh yes I've thought about it."

"Let us go, we won't tell what you did. No one has to know!" She pleaded.

Kevin turned his attention back to Derek, pressing the gun harder against his skull.

"Okay, okay I'll do what you want. Just don't hurt him anymore."

"Oh Savannah, I'm going to show you what it feels like to have a real man make love to you; not some emotional cripple who can't get over being some old man's sex toy when he was a little boy!"

Derek's heart stopped at Kevin's words. The dream in the car suddenly made sense and he couldn't breathe...was it a lie?

"What's wrong Derek? Not such a man now, are you? That's why you dumped this beautiful woman, she isn't your type!" He teased.

"No, no! Shut the hell up; you sick son-of-a-bitch!"

"Yeah, Carl made you feel special, didn't he? You loved it! You loved it!" Kevin laughed now hysterically.

"Stop it, Kevin!" Savannah yelled. "Stop it!"

Derek struggled against his bindings as Kevin watched laughing.

"We're here."

Hotch pulled the SUV into the farmhouse driveway. The lights inside were on and as they all got out, they could hear loud voices inside.

Savannah pulled Kevin toward her, he assumed she'd come to her senses and leaned toward her touch.

"We're wasting time Kevin. I thought you wanted me?"

"Of course, I want you."

"Then forget about Derek just focus on us."

Kevin relaxed his hand that held the gun against Derek's head as she moved again placing her body between Kevin and Derek. Savannah kissed Kevin lightly on the lips, then again and again each time with more passion.

For a brief moment, Kevin forgot that he had become a violent beast as he closed his eyes while she showed him the emotion he had only dreamed of. Perhaps they could have a life together and leave Derek and the past behind. She kissed him again and his heart swooned.

Derek continued to struggle against the bindings around his wrists. He saw the tears streaming down Savannah's face as she stood near him, ready to dishonor herself to save his life. He couldn't live with that.

"Savannah, don't do this...please...not for me!"

Kevin opened his eyes at the sound of Derek's words. He looked in her face and saw the truth. Savannah didn't love him; she didn't want him, that was the truth. He saw her tears and the far-away look in her eyes. He felt the fire in his belly being stoked by her deception and he pushed away from her.

"You think I'm a fool!"

"No! No, I want this, I want you!"

"Then why are you crying? I see the disgust on your face, SAVANNAH!"

"We need to get in there now!" Hotch warned.

"KEVIN LYNCH!" Hotch yelled from the porch outside. "COME OUT NOW!"

He couldn't lose, not again, not to Derek or his FBI friends. He was tired of losing, no more; no more.

Derek braced himself for what was coming. Kevin's hand raised the gun and aimed it at him. He knew he was going to die, and his only regret was not being able to kiss Penelope one last time. Kevin wrapped his finger around the trigger; Derek prayed that Penelope would not forget him; that she would be happy but most of all that she would never stop loving him.

Savannah knew that she would never be able to live with herself if Kevin pulled that trigger. She'd never considered herself brave, but bravery didn't always come with a red cape.

"I love you Derek." She whispered tearfully.

One shot...then another...before the door was kicked down.

"SAVANNAH!"
