Chapter .7.
Hotel Transylvania…
Dracula had been sad and depressed for such a long time. It had been 258 years since he had seen his beloved Mavis and Grandson Dennis.
Mavis had told him when she left she would keep in contact. Yet there had been no letters, no phone calls and no emails. He had learnt too use the internet in hopes of contacting Mavis. He had found her online. But all messages went unanswered. And he couldn't trace were she now lived. It was like she was a ghost. There were no records off her anywhere.
He has been desperate too find her. But after all his searching he still wasn't any closer. And he worried about her. Was she alright? Was she hurt? Was Dennis ok? Was Johnny taking good care of her? Was she even alive? Why hadn't she come back? What caused her too stay away? Did she not care about him anymore?
And so many other questions ran through his mind often making him go into a frenzy of worry.
Sure his friends had been trying too help him. But it did little good. Dracula had also asked his loyal guests too keep an eye out for her but they too came up empty.
Was he ever going to find her?
Was he ever going to get the answers too his questions?
She was all he had left of his beloved wife Martha. He couldn't lose Mavis too. So he kept looking but his hope was at an all-time low.
Even with his new Zing Ericka trying too help him out. Yes she had bought joy back into his life. But it only be perfect if Mavis, Dennis and Johnny were back with him. Then his family would be complete.
He had tried keeping himself busy. Running the hotel and seeing too it Monsters had a place too relax. But he was getting fewer and fewer guests each decade that past. And he couldn't figure out why.
Buts rumours had it that a new hotel had been built. Well if you call over 250 years new. Apparently in was for Monsters and Humans. Which he couldn't understand how that worked. As he had tried it but it just didn't seem too work out for him.
He thought about going to check out the competition but dismissed it for now.
That was until Gill and his Zing had decided too have their wedding there. Deziree saying that this hotel was more Human and Monster friendly and they apparently catered for all types of Magical Creatures and Mortals. And EVERYONE apparently got along. Which Dracula just couldn't believe.
But it was their decision. And his friends had gone too check out the Hotel. All but Murry and Griffin who stayed with him. Apparently they didn't trust him too do well on his own.
Which was ridiculous.
He had plenty of work too keep in occupied. As he needed too check the books with bookings down he needed to figure out how too bring revenue and guests back up.
But how?
But his mind kept wandering.
He hoped Gill, Deziree and his friends came back soon. And he was looking forward too getting inside knowledge of this Hotel that was taking his business.
He hoped that Gill might not like the Hotel that Deziree picked and had talked her into having the Wedding here. He could plan a great wedding! He had organized Mavis's wedding after all! And Mavis had loved it and all the guests had such a great time.
This wedding could be the chance too bring up the revenue of the hotel.
He was bought out of his thoughts by a suddenly knock on his office door.
"Come in", Dracula calls
A Suit of Armour opens the door.
"What?" Dracula asks it
"They have arrived Sir", the armour says
"Who?" Dracula asks, not thinking clearly
"Mr Gill, Miss Deziree and the others Sir", the Suit of Armour replies
Dracula doesn't answer the Suit of Armour and zooms through the hotel to see his friends unpacking the car. With Ericka talking too them.
"Drac!" Wayne says happily
"Wayne! Frank! Eunice! Wanda! Gill! Deziree how was your trip? Where is Winnie?" Dracula asks
They all share looks. They had promised Mavis not too tell Drac about her and her family just yet.
"It was great and the staff are really friendly", Deziree reply
"How did you get back? Why didn't you call ahead?" Dracula asks
"The owner let us use the private jet", Frank replies earning a nudge from his wife.
"You met the owner? And why would they let strangers use their jet?" Dracula asks
"The owner has taken a liking too Gill and myself. They are being real helpful and they are really friendly", Deziree replies
"So you had no problems?" Ericka asks
"None. It was a fun trip and very informative", Wayne replies
Wanda nudges him. It seemed the boys weren't good at keeping secrets.
"What does that mean?" Dracula asks suspiciously
"Nothing", they say a little too quickly.
Dracula knew something was up. And he WAS going too find out what. He would have too be subtle.
"Where is Winnie?" Ericka asks
"She stayed behind. She made some new friends and asked too stay. The friends are the owners children and the owner promised too keep an eye on her and if any problems arose they would call us", Wanda replies smiling
"It is good for her too find friends. I know how lonely she has been. And I am glad she had found others she could be comfortable with", Ericka replies
"So are they werewolves?" Dracula asks
"No but their Monsters. The owner has a VERY large family. And they all help run the hotel. And Winnie and them just seemed to click and the friendship just grow from there", Deziree replies
They move inside and too the private quarters.
"So how does this Hotel compare too here?" Dracula asks
The friends share a look. They had all discussed their time at Heart Zing Hotel and they had all agreed that it was more friendly then here and everyone was allowed too mingle without any fights. As they hadn't witnessed any fights while they were there. And learnt about the no-bullying and no-fighting policy. As their was no 'racism' there was a more relaxed feeling and there was no tension. Sure there were little fights but not about racism.
"Drac too be honest the Hotel offers more than this Hotel ever has done. And probably more then you could possibly add", Frank replies
"They had basically a shopping mall IN the hotel. That includes Wedding Dress shops and so on. A Casino. Attractions. They have 16 Clubs and 29 different Restaurants that also cater to Monsters. Different Churches. They have extensive gardens. They offer more technology of this time then you have. They have many services like Day-care, Car Hire, Plane Hire, Personal Chuffer, Personal Chef and so many more services which you don't have. They offer training services and apprenticeships. They also have MANY different suites for the guests. They have 25 different types of rooms that includes Cabins and Units as well as permeant residences. As well as the Owners Apartments. There is basically something for everyone for the poor or the rich…", Deziree says going on and on showing just how much she adored the Hotel, "They also do programs for the Poor and for the Children in need. The owner even gives free shelter too those who desperately need it and can prove it. It is truly inspiring"
Dracula couldn't believe this how could one person do this? How can this be possible?
"How could this owner do this?" Dracula asks out load.
"We didn't ask. It really wasn't our business. Even through we became friends", Gill replies
It was one of the things they WANTED too know too. But Mavis had been tight lipped about it. But from seeing the Hotel she was obviously very, very, VERY rich.
"How can this one person fit all this in?" Ericka asks
"The owner owns a lot of land and her Hotel is the tallest and biggest in the world. But the owner also revealed that some Magical's helped her make it bigger inside then out", Eunice replies
"Do you think we can do the same here?" Dracula asks
"Do you want an honest answer Drac?" Wayne asks
"That would be appreciated", Dracula replies
"Here is the honest answer you don't have a hope in recreating this or matching this. The owner is truly a genius", Wayne replies happy and proud with how good his 'niece' was doing.
He really wished he could tell Drac the truth, but a promise was a promise.
"So do we get too met this owner?" Dracula asks
The group again share looks. Which made Dracula want too demands answers. But he decided to hold his tongue for now.
"The owner will be at the wedding. So yes, you will met", Gill replies
Gill believe when the meeting happened their would-be fireworks. And so did the others.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
"What!?" Dracula barks
Quasimodo appears grinning widely
"Monsieur I heard everyone is back and I bring food!" Quasimodo announces
He brings in trays of food.
Dracula may have been relucent too hire Quasimodo back. But it was on probation that he would behaviour around the humans. And Quasimodo passed the tests and had been a model Monster. So he was now off probation and doing great work.
"Thank you Quasimodo", Dracula says dismissing him
Quasimodo bows and leaves. Quite happy with himself.
"So what about the finer details of the wedding?" Ericka asks
Heart Zing Hotel…
Mavis looks out this night over the grounds of her hotel, all light up easy too see, from her apartment balcony. Thinking about what had happened in the last few days. Soon her secret and location would be out in the open. Soon her so-called Father would learn of her success and his so many Grandchildren.
But she didn't know if she was ready for this.
Ready for the pain it will course.
Or the problems.
Was she ready to face her past?
Could she forgive her Father?
At the moment her heart and brain were divided on what too do.
"Johnny what am I doing hosting this wedding? What do I do? Do I have the strength too go through with this? Can I really forgive him?" Mavis asks looking up at the stars.
'Mavy I can't answer that. But your stronger then you give yourself credit for. As for forgiveness only you can decide that. But understand and acceptance is mercy and forgiveness is always wise. Forgiveness shows just how strong you are. Your strong my Zing. My Zing…My Zing…', Johnny's voice reaches her again.
A breeze brings Cherry Blossoms dancing around her before flying off in a wavy line into the night.
"You will always be my Zing Johnny. And I will see if I'm as strong as you believe I am. I will try for you my love. Only you"
