Alright first off I'd like to wish you guys a happy New Year. I planned to usually have a chapter out each week and sometimes things come up so I take some time off. The updates will hopefully be pretty consistent for the next few weeks. I also started to do animations so that is fun. This chapter is focused more on character building. There is a little mix of evil teams too. I think romance is a nice side plot in stories because romance is a part of life. It won't be the main focus, but it will come up in future chapters. I didn't even think about N being a ranger, but I love the idea. I'm thinking he will go down to Sinnoh after his fourth gym badge. It would be a good change of pace in the story and give him some time with different characters. I love the reviews and the excitement for this story. Feel free to talk in the reviews to me. I don't own anything.

There I was looking at the burning city again and the lone figure standing on the hill. Reshiram flew ahead and continued to torch the city as I walked towards the lone figure. I was never able to reach him. I strode towards the figure and decided this would be the time to finally figure out who he was. It must be the white knight, but the figure was cloaked and I couldn't see any white armor. I rushed up the hill and placed my hand on his shoulder. Only this time the dream didn't end and when I turned the hooded figure I was greeted to my face. I let go of the older version of me. My future face was covered in dirt and grime. The only reason I could tell it was me because of the long dark hair and the startling icy blue eyes. I could still hear the fire crackling in the distance and then the dream started to fade as my future self sneered at me. I slowly tried to grab out to y future self, but my hand didn't reach and I woke up from my sleeping bag. I looked around and glanced down at N. He shuffled a little while holding Zorua in his arms. N was still sound asleep. I slowly got up and stretched my arms and legs. I quietly wormed my way out of the tent and I slowly made my way to the edge of the camp. The moon shone brightly through the sky and lit the forest. Aurea and Elesa wanted to go and visit the next town we came up to. Apparently, there was a big festival coming up and everyone seemed to celebrate it.

I sat down and began to meditate by one of the lakes near our campsite. It was quiet and only the faintest of noises could be heard. I continued to meditate for a while until I heard something approaching me. I turned my head to see that Smaug and Gimli were staring at me. I sighed and shook y head at them. Smaug seemed to understand and he curled up around me. I laid back into his golden fur and looked up at the stars and the moon. I looked to my left to see that Gimli had started to meditate next to me. We remained like that for many hours. I took solace in the fact that my pokemon could tell when I was upset. My mind turned to the dream. I had been plagued by it ever since I woke up from the haunted house. What was causing these nightmares? At times I would even dream of snow. Eventually, I was able to drift off into sleep thanks to Smaugs warm fur. Smaug would always be there for me. He was my first and best friend.

The next morning I woke up to an itch on my nose and I scratched it. The itching came back and I cracked open an eye. I was greeted with bright white fur. It seems that Mordor had found me and curled back up around me. The sun was starting to rise just above the horizon. I glanced around and saw that most of my Pokemon were laying around haphazardly. Mithril was lying on his stomach and a large snot bubble shrank and grew from his mouth. Mandos was slumped against a tree. Ancalagon laid in a crater that he most likely made and Ulmo was sleeping on the grass clutching an electric guitar that I had bought him. I held Mordor out in front of me and smiled at him.

I said, "You are quite the trouble maker".

Smaug realizing I had gotten up stretched and stood to his full height. Mordor squirmed and squealed in my arms. I quickly placed Mordor onto my shoulder and went back into my tent to get changed. After quickly getting changed I exited the tent and started to make breakfast for the group. It appears that I had taken on the role of Chef in the group. I quickly got the assorted food for our pokemon and prepared a quick breakfast from what we had. You could never go wrong with fruits and berries in the morning. Elesa was the first one to exit her tent and she stretched quickly. She had a bright smile on her face. Emolga was flying around her and she seemed to be just as happy. Elesa quickly sat down and started to eat.

Once she finished she smiled and asked "Are you excited about the festival? It has been a long time since I was able to go to a festival. Mom, Dad, and I use to go together when I was younger'.

I nodded and said, "Yeah, I'm interested in what it is like. Blackthorn had a few bigger festivals, but I never got to see them".

Elesa nodded and said, "the festival is all about new beginnings and it is called the wishing festival".

I raised an eyebrow and asked, "Wishing festival"?

Aurea sat down next to us and said "It is named after the pokemon Delibird. They say that Delibird comes and grants wishes to any person that is kind throughout the whole year. The festival will be street vendors and parade balloons. This all leads back to the center of the town and once the clock strikes twelve the Delibird comes and delivers a gift. Depending on the gift the town will either have a great year or a bad year".

I nodded at the information and said "That sounds like the celebration of dragons in Blackthorn".

N popped up next to me and asked "What is the celebration of Dragons"?

I shrugged and said "It is when the townspeople place out all different types of foods to attract dragons. The people in the village then spend the day with that dragon and it is a massive festival. The person with the most unique dragon partner gets a prie from the elder and it is said that person will have good luck for the rest of the year".

Elesa nodded and said 'That sounds a lot like the wishing festival except with more dragons".

I bit into my dinner and nodded. We finished eating and packed up camp. It didn't take long to get to the city. I quickly recalled most of my pokemon and left Gimli and Mandos out. Once we walked into the town it was obvious that the town was preparing for the wishing festival. There were banners and tinsels hung up throughout the city. It was almost as if I was celebrating the Japanese New Year. Aurea was quick to pull me out of the street before I was stomped by one of the floats. It was a giant Charizard float and it was shooting out paper fire. The sidewalks in the town were extremely crowded and our little group had to push through to find a good spot. The girls had decided to take us through a few stores. Gimli and Mandos continued to follow us into the store. I pulled out a muscle shirt for Gimli and he immediately shook his head. I then grabbed a black kimono for Mandos and he adamantly shook his head as well.

Elesa laughed and said "I don't think you have very good taste Aragorn. I can tell by how you dress. Maybe you should let us pick out the outfits?"

N nodded and said, "You should see the first time he tried buying me clothes. He tried to buy me a Pikachu costume for my pajamas".

I kicked N in the shin for that remark and he shot me an irritated look. I said, "I'm hurt baby brother and here I thought you would be grateful I got you such nice clothing".

N glared and said, "You bought those pajamas because you wanted to tease me"!

I whistled and looked away. I said, "I have no clue what you are talking about baby brother".

Aurea smiled and shook her head. She placed a hat on N's head and said "I think this might fit you".

I grin as I saw that it was N's signature hat. It was black and had a large white stripe in the middle of it. Aurea looked at me and grinned. Elesa also had an evil grin. I slowly started to back away. They advanced on me and I slowly backed up into Gimli who was flexing in the mirror. He quickly turned to me with wide eyes. I looked up at him with pleading eyes and he looked back at the girls. He immediately shook his head at me and disappeared back into his Pokeball. What a traitor.

I asked the girls "Please have mercy"?

The girls just smiled at me and continued to advance. They eventually made it to the mirror and my pleas fell on deaf ears. N turned away and Mandos simply looked away. Some noble knight he was. I would get Gimli to kick his ass later. As I was being dragged away I thought about if it was possible to make this kind of strength into a new move. I went through multiple different types of clothing. I have to admit the girls knew what they were doing. I had long white bants and a golden waistband. My upper body was covered in a black collared shirt with a grey cross going through the middle of it. Over that, I had a black jacket with white sleeves and a white Mareep fur on the outer edge of the hood. There were black stripes that ran down my arms and to top it off I had black gloves on. My white orb hung in the center of my chest for the world to see.

Once I bought the stuff I was able to slip away with Mandos into the crowds, while Elesa and Aurea were distracted with helping N shop. I looked at my other pokeballs and promised myself I would go flying with Ancalagon and take Smaug for a ride later. While I was walking through the city strolling through the vendors and looking for something to eat. Mandos was walking next to me and many people had decided to stare. I'm not sure if it was the fact Mandos had a sword strapped to his side or if it was because he was a Lucario. I bought two Yakitori and walked back over to Mandos. Apparently, Yakitori was small pieces of chicken skewered and grilled on a bamboo stick. It was seasoned with salts and other savory sauces. The chicken was alternated with pieces of leek. Mandos and I both scarfed down the food. It made sense that chicken and other farm animals were in the pokemon world. Most pokemon didn't look exactly edible, but it does bring up the question if a decent amount of Pokemon eat humans. I remember a few Pokedex entries about Pokemon looking like a certain human food to trick humans.

I guess I wasn't paying attention as I was thinking because I ended up bumping into someone. I looked down to see that I was looking at a young Hilbert. Mandos stopped as well and had his paw on his sword. I slowly shook my head at him and the boy scrambled to stand up. He looked up at Mandos and me and his jaw dropped. He seemed to have stars in his eyes when he looked at Mandos.

He said "Oh is that a Lucario? That's super cool. I can't wait to be a trainer someday. I just know that I am going to have an Oshowatt as my starter. How many pokemon do you have? Can I play with them please"?

He was talking a mile a minute and I was about to answer when a woman came running up to Hilbert. She said 'Hibert, you can't just go running off like that'.

She then turned to me and smiled. She said 'I am so sorry for causing you any trouble. This little rascal just loves pokemon".

I shook my head and said, "Don't worry about it, miss…"

She responded "My name is Rose and this little munchkin is Hilbert. What is your name? Would you mind if Hilbert played with your Lucario"?

I smiled at the two and said "I'm Aragorn and sure why don't we find somewhere a bit more open so the two can play".

Rose's smile grew even bigger and she grabbed a hold of Hilbert's small hand. Rose quickly guided us through the crowded streets of the town to a small park. It was a lush area in the town and Hilbert was hanging off of Mandos. Hilbert ran around Mandos's legs and the two played multiple games. I clicked another of my pokeballs and Smaug came out. Hilbert's face brightened and he climbed onto Smaug's back. Smaug rode around and Hilbert was cheering him on. Ulmo also popped out of his ball and started to play the song Boutique from pokemon X and Y on his guitar. I gave him a rather dry look. He just gave me a gummy smile. I never should have bought him that music book from the town.

Rose continued to stare at Hilbert and said "I haven't seen him this happy in forever. He truly loves any type of pokemon. I am just so proud of him".

I frowned at that. I didn't know much about Hilbert's backstory, but I do remember he was a happy kid. I nodded and said, "He does seem to be enjoying himself".

Rose shook her head and said, "I just wish I could always make him this happy".

I found myself asking "Why don't you get him a pokemon then"?

Rose immediately shook her head and said "He is too young for one".

I just shrugged my shoulders. It wasn't my problem truthfully and I shouldn't be getting involved. Hilbert would no doubt be a great trainer no matter how sad his past was. I already had to help show N the joys of the world. The comfortable silence continued for a while. Hilbert's cries of laughter and excitement seemed to liven up the peaceful park.

Rose eventually sighed and said, "Thank you for letting Hilbert play with your pokemon. I have no doubt you will be a great trainer".

I waved her off and said, "it was no problem. I enjoyed the company before the festival starts".

Just as we were about to stand a man in a white suit ran past us with a large sack. The sack was squirming. I looked at Rose, but she already had Hilbert in her arms and was about to walk away. I recognized the armor. I called back all of my pokemon except Mandos. He was the only pokemon that wouldn't draw attention. I quickly chased after the man. The man continued through the streets and made his way to one of the buildings. I quickly slipped through the entrance and I felt Mandos following behind me.

Mandos looked at me and asked into my head "Why do you always seem to attract trouble? It would be much easier to protect you if you didn't seek trouble at every turn".

I turned at him and smirked. I said, "My glorious protector can't handle a little trouble".

Mandos just shook his head and we continued down the darkened hallway. We quietly slunk down the hallway. Once we turned the corner we saw the figure pull out a book from the bookshelf and an elevator door appeared from behind the bookshelf. What kind of awesome villain layer was Team Cipher using because I wanted one. Once the door closed and the bookshelf slid back into place I approached the bookshelf. I heard footsteps coming from behind us. They must have been coming to this room. Mandos and I quickly hid behind the furniture before the door opened. A group of Team Plasma grunts ran into the room.

I heard the main plasma grunt say "Pull the bookshelf and be ready for a fight from Team Cipher".

Another of the grunts said, "This will be easy boss. We will be in and out in no time".

A few of the grunts grunted in acknowledgment and the leader barked out " Don't think so narrow-mindedly. Team Cipher has the power of shadow pokemon. We need to be ready. These shadow pokemon will surely help Team Plasma".

The group of Team Plasma shuffled and the elevator dinged. There was more shuffling and then the bookshelf slid back into place. Mandos and I quickly stood up. I walked over to the bookshelf and pulled the book. The bookshelf slid open and Mandos and I walked into the elevator. There was only one floor on the elevator. I pressed it and we started to descend. Once the elevator door opened it was chaos. It was a large underground lab and Team Plasma was currently attacking Team Cipher. The two Team Cipher grunts had shadow pokemon that were taking on six Team Plasma grunts. The shadow pokemon were devastating the normal pokemon. I winced when one of the plasma grunt's pokemon was flung into one of the machines. The machine exploded and started to catch fire. It was clear that the Team Cipher grunts weren't completely in control of the shadow pokemon. The shadow Ursaring slammed into another computer and went into a rampage. The shadow Scizor slammed into two of the other pokemon and rushed towards one of the grunts.

The grunt screamed and fell when the shadow Scizor sliced the air above his head. The shadow Ursaring slammed his fists into the floor and it cracked. I slunk around them on the railing and saw what the Team Cipher grunt was carrying. It was a fossil. I looked over at Mandos and tilted my head in the direction of the fossil. Mandos nodded and jumped over the railing. He fell gracefully and picked up the fossil. He then jumped back up to where I was. I scrambled over to the main computers on the upper floor. I quickly pulled out my Pokedex and plugged it into the computer. It was downloading the files and I looked back over to the fight.

The shadow Ursarang was currently slamming the Purrloin into the ground over and over again. Even the Team Cipher grunts were appalled. One of them even tried to stop the shadow Ursarang. That was a mistake. The Shadow Ursarang swiped at the grunt and then continued to rampage towards the Team Plasma grunts. The two Team Cipher grunts continued to try to control the shadow pokemon, but it was no use. The Team Plasma leader finally sent out his Gardevoir. The Gardevoir restrained both of the shadow pokemon with its mind in the air. It then slammed the two pokemon down and knocked them unconscious. Oh, how I hated psychics. The two Team Cipher grunts panicked and they were restrained as well. They were knocked out right after.

My Pokedex finished downloading the information and I pulled out the cord connecting it to the computer. I pointed towards the computer and Mandos seemed to understand. He rammed his fist into the computer. I didn't want to have Team Plasma to have any idea how to make shadow pokemon, so I had Mandos destroy the evidence. Mandos and I slowly made our way to the elevator. I pressed the button and we turned and watched the Team Plasma grunt talking to the scientists.

He said, "This is a warning to Team Cipher to stay the hell out of Unova. Team Plasma is destined to rule this region. Take this message to one of your higher-ups. Team Cipher should go back to Orre".

One of the scientists scowled and said "You think those are strong pokemon? Those were just grunts and they destroyed five of six of you. No one will be able to stop our shadow Pokemon. Team Cipher has claimed Unova and nothing will get in our way. Team Cipher has agents and labs in every one of the regions. Team Plasma is nothing to us".

One of the Team Plasma grunts spits in the scientist's face. He said, "You want nothing more than to use pokemon. The brilliant Team Plasma will put a stop to you using these pokemon like this".

The scientist laughed and then the Gardevoir promptly knocked him out. I winced and then I felt the elevator door open. I backed into the elevator slowly with Mandos and I clicked the button to go up. The Team Plasma grunts trashed the lab. They took the pokeballs from the Team Cipher grunts and then the Gardevoir ripped apart multiple machines. The lab was destroyed. Only fires and destroyed lab equipment remained of the old lab. Just as the door closed the Gardevoir turned towards and motioned for her trainer. My heart pace picked up rapidly and I rushed out of that building. I quickly took the fossil that Mandos was carrying and I put it in my bag. I then walked out the front door of the building. Once I was outside I was greeted to the sight of Hilbert confronting two team Plasma members.

Hilbert said, "You jerks better tell me what you are doing here or I'll get my really strong friend to beat you two up".

One of the team Plasma members smirked and said "Get lost kid. This is adult stuff. Why don't you go find your mother"?

I shocked my head and hopped the fence at the side of the building. I rounded the building and acted surprised when I saw Hilbert confronting the two grunts. Hilber must have heard me approaching because he quickly turned and smiled at me.

He pointed at me and said, "See I told you I had a super-strong friend. He even has a Lucario".

I raised an eyebrow at that and said "Gentlemen sorry for the trouble I will be taking this kid back to his mom".

I turned and quickly grabbed Hilbert by the scuff of his neck. I slowly turned away from the two Plasma members and started to take Hilbert down the street back to his mother. I heard one of the Plasma members say "Look at your super strong friend running away from a fight". I bit my tongue when I heard that. I slowly let out a hiss from my clenched teeth, but I continued to ignore their calls and I walked away. Mandos followed next to me his hand was on his sword the whole time.

Hilbert asked, "Why didn't you fight them? They were definitely up to no good".

I turned and scowled at him. I said, "There was no point in fighting them. I can't prove they were doing anything wrong. All they were doing was guarding a building".

Hilbert crossed his arms and gave me the stink eye. He said, "I know they were doing something bad. That was the group that dad joined when he set off on his journey to be a pokemon master. Dad was a no-good person that ran out on mommy".

I raised an eyebrow at that. I didn't know that about Hilbert. I didn't say anything else as we continued down the street. I was able to make out a woman that was frantically shuffling down the street asking vendors if they had seen a little boy. She then looked up and saw that I was carrying her son. She rushed over and took Hilbert from me. She peppered me with thanks and I waved her off. I was eventually able to disconnect myself from the mother and son. I slowly made my way back to the clothing stores and I saw Elesa, Aurea, and N all walking down the street. Aurea and Elesa were both carrying multiple bags on their arms and N was wearing his signature white jacket and khaki pants. I hurried over to the group. We continued to look through the city the rest of the day enjoying the festivities. I on the other hand ignored most of the festival. Team Plasma knowing about Team Cipher was big news. A turf war was happening in the shadows and I needed information. It looks like I was going to need to pull the shadow Triad off of their current mission. The shadow pokemon were uncontrolled, but they were strong. That Gardevoir was no joke either. It took out those two beasts in a matter of seconds.

We eventually made our way over to the large tree in the center of the town as the sunset. The large tree was surrounded by water and Japenese arches. Soon it was dark and the light was only coming from the lanterns that were lit around the tree. People swarmed in and gathered around the tree. We waited until midnight and slowly, but surely the Delibird walked up to the podium in the middle of the tree. He placed a present in the basket in the center of the tree. The mayor walked up to the gift and slowly unwrapped the gift. He held up the object and it appeared to be a gold bar. Fireworks then followed and lit up the sky. A wide array of colors filled the sky and everyone was left awe-struck at the beauty of it. They continued like this for an hour and I let some of my worries dissolve as I watched the light show. The rest of the night I would enjoy watching the fireworks with my friends, but there was plenty to come. I would need to figure out what the fossil in this bag is too. So much to do and there was only one me.

Alright so the chapter is done and I think it turned out well. The dreams are his connection with Reshiram. I have a plan for them and how it all connects. Reshiram will be a major player in this story. Aragorn will meet other legendaries and may even fight some of them because let's be honest legendaries are awesome. We got a look at both Team Cipher and Team Plasma. I had this idea for a while because let's be honest Ghetsis would not be happy to have Team Cipher on his doorstep so a turf war has started and this will lead to more conflict for Aragorn and his friends. I hope I portrayed the ruthlessness of shadow pokemon as well. They are still some of the most dangerous Pokemon in my opinion because their souls are corrupted. I also hope I described his outfit well enough. I think the white and mix of black goes well and helps to symbolize Aragorn's ideals of searching for Truths and following his ideals. The outfit was a little bit of fluff to help deepen the characters' bonds as well. We also get to see N and Aragorn's brotherly relationship. Lastly, Hilbert is introduced and the first introduction to game characters has happened. I looked him up and found that his dad left the family to be a pokemon master and he became a Team Plasma member. Isn't that crazy. My last little tidbit is that the next chapter will be a little exploring and heavy on new training moves for a few of the team. Feel free to talk to me in the reviews. I love reading them.

Aragorn's team:

Smaug (Arcanine) moves:

Thunder fang, psychic fang, fire fang, play rough, ember, extreme speed, quick attack, flame thrower, fire burst, will-o-wisp, flame wheel, crunch

New moves: flare(a blinding light that stuns enemies), eruption (Flames spread across the floor that erupts like volcanoes), Magnetism (a field of electricity that is used like protect that can paralyze opponents when one touches it), Fire control (takes extreme concentration to use and leaves him extremely tired)

Ancalagon (Garchomp) moves:

Dragon breath, sand attack, sand tomb, bulldoze, dragon claw, dragon pulse, dig, slash, bite, crunch, ember, mud shot, brick break, scorching sands

New moves:

Ground armor (Ancalagon surrounds himself in the earth to increase his defense. This is one of his favored moves because he can take more damage and act as a mass of destruction). He will be getting more moves, but right now he is an extremely powerful dragon and Aragorn has been focused on him developing resistances to ice and fairy type moves.

Mandos (Lucario) moves:

Aura Sphere, detect, copycat, feint, force palm, metal claw, quick attack, nasty plot, power-up punch, bone rush, sword dance, bullet punch, dark pulse. He knows quite a lot of moves thanks to being so old.

New moves:

Bone rush swords (He uses bone rush to create swords to fight with). Buster sword (He creates a giant bastard sword that fits his fighting style), Aura infusion (He infuses objects with Aura and uses it to strengthen his attacks. He also can launch aura from his swords)

Gimli (Machamp) moves:

Fire punch, thunder punch, ice punch, low kick, revenge, vital throw, seismic punch, bullet punch, mega punch, low sweep

New moves:

He has mastered many forms of martial arts and will use those through matches. He will also be getting more new moves though so don't worry.

Mithril (Prinplup) moves:

Aqua Jet, bubble, water gun, metal claw, water pulse, icy wind, water sport, hail, ice beam, rain dance. He will be learning more moves, but since he is relatively new he doesn't know as many as Ancalagon or Smaug.

New moves:

Icicle spears (Mithril forms icicle spears from the water around him and launches them at his opponents), Blood bending(It is a work in progress. He controls the blood in an opponent's body), icy domain (Mithril freezes the floor around him and skates across the floor), Water torrent (Water forms around Mithril's flipper and spins in angry torrents. It greatly resembles Sasuke's Chidori in a water form. It has the same power as one of Blastoise cannons. Aragorn has been trying to mix it with other moves to increase its power even more), more moves to come

Ulmo (toxtricity) moves:

Acid, Acid spray, Spark, volt switch, thunder wave, thundershock, thunder, poison jab, thunder punch, eerie impulse, sludge bomb, venom drench, more moves to come

New moves:

Poison fog (This move creates a poisonous fog that causes pokemon to become poisoned. Ulmo is able to shoot the cloud out of its pores. The cloud is extremely thick), Electrical stimulation (Ulmo stimulates its muscles to increase the reaction in its muscles. This lets Ulmo compete with other members of Aragorn's team). I have plenty of ideas for Ulmo and his electric and poison type moves.
