I was still crying when Mr. Xaldin and Mr. Lexaeus came through another dark corridor. Mr. Xaldin walked right past me, but Mr. Lexaeus stopped and knelt down in front of me. "What's wrong?" He asked.

"Mr. Xemnas opened the dark corridor and said I have to leave." I sobbed.

"That doesn't sound right. How about I take you to Vexen and then I'll talk to your father and get to the bottom of this? Would that be alright?" He offered.

I nodded. "I guess so." I replied, wiping away my tears. He lifted me up into his big arms. He looked scary, but seemed really nice, so I wasn't afraid of him. He took me to what I assumed to be Mr. Vexen's lab. I recalled that Axel had advised me to stay away from it. Mr. Vexen and Zexion were inside.

"Vexen, will you watch the girl while I speak with the superior?" Mr. Lexaeus requested.

"Fine, fine." Mr. Vexen sighed as he was writing down something in a notebook. He glanced in our direction and did a double take. "Was she crying?"

"Yes. I found her crying on the sofa. There was a dark corridor opened right by her. She told me that the superior said that she had to leave. I'm going to ask him what happened." Mr. Lexaeus explained.

"That doesn't surprise me. He likely lost his temper." Mr. Vexen stated. He resumed writing in his notebook. "I hope you learned your lesson Alexus. Never test your father's patience. It will only go so far."

"Y-yes sir." I stuttered. Mr. Lexaeus set me down.

"I'll be back." Mr. Lexaeus promised me before he left.

"Take a seat Alexus. Zexion, entertain the girl. I'm quite busy." Mr. Vexen sighed and once again resumed writing. I sat down in the chair next to Zexion's.

"What happened?" Zexion asked, sounding shocked.

"I…" I couldn't find the words to tell him what happened. I started crying again.

"Hey, it's okay. Don't cry. It's going to be okay. Lexaeus will figure this out." Zexion tried to comfort me.

Mr. Vexen slammed his pencil on the table and turned to us. "I can't focus with you crying. Leaving well enough alone is something that we all must learn. Some of us learn the easy way and some of us learn the hard way. I do believe you have just learned the hard way. I am sorry that you had to learn that way, but now you must deal with the consequences." He snapped. I started sobbing even harder. Mr. Vexen took a deep breath. "Your father isn't going to send you back. There's no need to be afraid of that. I don't know what he told you, but he didn't truly mean whatever he said. He won't abandon you child."

I wiped my tears away. "You think so?"

"Yes, now take these and stop crying so I can get back to work." Mr. Vexen huffed as he threw a box of tissues my way. I didn't catch it, so it fell on the ground. Zexion picked it up and handed it to me. I hoped Mr. Vexen was right. While I didn't want to be with Mr. Xemans, Aunt Ralene was much worse. Aunt Myka, Aunt Bess, and Aunt Dulcie would probably try all they could to save me from her clutches, but they weren't my real aunts. There wasn't much they could do without breaking laws. If it weren't for Mr. Xemnas, Aunt Ralene would have been my legal guardian. That was a terrifying thought.

JustAFemaleGeek: Nobody's perfect. Even Nobodys like Xemnas. But yeah, he was a huge jerk in that chapter. He'll get somewhat better though.
