Chapter 11: At the Factory Gates
AN: Wow, talk about accuracy. It's the first day of December (in the story and real life) and it's time to go to the chocolate factory! Enjoy!
Early the next morning, everyone was having a pleasant sleep ever since the great news from yesterday. In the siblings' bedroom, Bob and Flurry were fast asleep until they heard the sound of an alarm clock going off. Startled, they jolted awake from their slumber and rubbed their eyes. When Flurry focused her vision, she saw Patrick looking at her with a big smile.
"Come on, rise and shine, Sleeping Beauty! Come on, get up, get up!" Patrick said anxiously.
"Wha...what time is it?" Flurry yawned.
"About 5:00 am! Come on, get up! We need to get ready!" Patrick replied.
"Patrick, the sun's not even up yet. We'll get up in a couple hours. Now go back to sleep," Bob groaned.
"Oh, all right," Patrick grumbled as he hung his head and got back into bed.
The three then laid their heads back down on their pillows, closed their eyes and went back to sleep. A couple hours later, they were awakened by their mother, who told them that they need to get ready for the tour. First, Flurry went into the bathroom and got dressed and cleaned up before being followed by her brothers. Around 8:30, they were dressed in their usual outfits underneath winter coats and hats. Patrick was now dressed in a blue shirt, black athletic pants, and dark silver tennis shoes with blue laces. The three siblings said their goodbyes to their grandparents before going over to their parents. Cadence wrapped Flurry's new scarf around her daughter's neck.
"Make sure you don't lose your new scarf, honey," Cadence said warmly.
"Okay, Mommy," Flurry nodded.
"Have a great time, kiddo," Shinning Armor rubbed her head.
"I'm sure that I will!" Flurry giggled.
"You'll look out for her, right?" Cadence said to her eldest son.
"Don't worry, Mom. We won't let anything bad happen to her," Bob answered.
"Come on; let's get this show on the road!" Patrick eagerly gestured towards the door.
"Patrick, we still have an hour and a half until 10:00," Bob pointed out.
"Better early than on time," Patrick replied.
After giving one last goodbye to the family, the three siblings went out and headed off towards the factory. Even if it was very cold out at the moment, their spirits were still high and that seemed to keep their bodies warm. They even began to sing as they got closer to the factory.
[Patrick Moonbeam]
I never thought that I would be
Slap in the lap of luxury
'Cause I'd have said,
"It couldn't be done" but it can be done!
[Flurry Heart, Bob Nightwalker & Patrick Moonbeam]
Yes, it can be done!
Even the other ticket finders, who had arrived to Ponyville as well, also began to sing as they headed towards the factory.
[All Ticket Winners]
We never ever dared to think
That there would be a golden time
When bang in glorious golden blink,
Our lives would become sublime!
[All Women]
'Cause I've got a golden ticket!
[All Men]
I've got a golden ticket!
[All Ticket Winners]
I've got a golden chance to
Make my way
And with a golden ticket
It's a golden DAY!
They all felt like they were on top of the world and personally believed that nothing could ever ruin this experience for them.
The streets of Ponyville were buzzing with excitement. A large crowd of people have gathered near the gates of the factory in order to watch the lucky winners and their family members go inside the mysterious factory. A long red carpet was laid out all the way from the doors in the factory to outside of the gates for the winners to walk on when it came time to enter. A few yards away from the gates stood a long raised platform that had a total of 15 chairs on it. This was for the winners and their two family members to sit upon until it was time to go inside. A lot of the people were looking at the 15 people sitting in the chairs on the platform and some photographers were taking pictures of them. Flurry noticed that her friends were also in the audience and she waved to them, resulting in them happily waving back.
"I'm so happy for Flurry Heart!" Sweetie Belle squealed.
"Me too!" Applebloom grinned.
"I wonder if she'll share the lifetime supply of chocolate with us," Scootaloo wondered.
"Now, now, guys, it's up to Flurry to decide that," Spike reminded them.
"I can't wait to see Willy Wonka! I've been counting down the minutes!" Pipsqueak said.
"I can't wait either! I hope my hair looks okay!" Featherweight took out a comb and started straightening his hair.
Eventually, Hooves Forecast arrived on the scene, ready to film the events of the day. Up on the platform, Button Mash noticed the camera pointing towards them and got excited.
"Look, we're on TV! Hi everybody in Fillydelphia! How do I look on the tube?" Button stood up and waved at the camera.
"Well folks, the big day has finally arrived," Hooves Forecast spoke into his handheld microphone. "This day will go down in history since it will be known as the day where Willy Wonka opens his gates to shower prizes on the 5 lucky winners. People from all over the world have gathered here, waiting to catch a glimpse of the legendary chocolate magician himself, Mr. Willy Wonka."
Soon, Hooves Forecast started going up to the platform to interview the five lucky winners. He stopped by Trixie Lulamoon and her parents, but Jackpot began taking advantage of the moment to advertise their magic show.
"Hi, this is Jackpot Lulamoon of the Lulamoon Magic Company," Jackpot announced, making Trixie roll her eyes. "We're the troupe of magicians that you will be dying to see when we come to town. Our world tour will begin approximately a month from now. And further more—"
"Oh, shut up, father! The Great and Powerful Trixie tires of your useless rambling! This moment is all about the Great and Powerful Trixie!" Trixie boasted loudly.
Diamond Tiara looked over and noticed this, causing her to glare in anger. While Diamond Tiara could care less about the other winners, she mainly saw Trixie as a rival to herself, nothing more and nothing less. She obviously watched the report of the 12-year-old blowhard and instantly hated her, she had to show up Trixie somehow and she knew exactly how to go about it.
"I want to go in first before anyone else, Daddy!" Diamond Tiara ordered.
"Anything you say, honey," Filthy Rich nodded, causing his daughter to smirk victoriously.
At that moment, Truffle was busy snacking on a Wonka bar, obviously, before his mother noticed this and started to get a little concerned.
"Now, now, Truffle, you should save some room for later," Mrs. Shuffle said.
She couldn't explain it, but she had a feeling there would be a lot of things for her little Truffle to snack upon. Out of all of the winners, Flurry and both her brothers were excited the most to go inside the factory.
"I can't believe it. We're actually going inside the chocolate factory," Flurry said.
"And we'll be leaving with a lifetime supply of chocolate! We might even leave with the special surprise if we're lucky," Patrick added.
"And don't forget that we're going to see the greatest surprise of all: Mr. Willy Wonka!" Bob finished.
Just then, a loud chime was heard and it caused everyone to look upwards. The nearby clock tower had just struck the hour. It wouldn't be long before the famous chocolatier made his grand appearance.
AN: Again, HeySpike does NOT own any of the songs. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Stay tuned for the next chapter in which we meet Willy Wonka and go inside the factory. Until then, catch ya later!
