Iruma stood on stage with Sullivan, Opera and Clara behind him, Luna in Clara's arms and Sol in Opera's arms while students and staff looked at him in confusion. Taking a deep breath, Iruma frowned as he shook his head, "Hello everyone…many of you know me as the Chair-Demon's grandson and Honor Student Iruma…but the truth is…I've been keeping something secret from most of you…a handful of demons know this, and at the time, I was frightened, but a bigger threat is on the horizon," Clara frowned as she held Luna closer to her and she hung her head, "I recently learned of a terrorist organization called the Six Fingers and normally I'll avoid danger, but now that I have Clara Valac by my side and we have Luna and Sol to protect…I have a civil duty to protect my family but I can't do that alone, not against an organization like this,"
Everyone stared at him, looks of horror crossing their faces while Sullivan scanned the room with narrowed eyes, "Whether you find out from me or from the organization, it's going to come out, and I rather you hear it from me to hopefully lessen the impact…I am human," a collection of gasps filled the air, "How I ended up here in the Netherworld is…my lowlife parents summoned grandpa and without hesitation had sold me to him. Grandpa then adopted me as his grandson after bringing me here and he told me that demons devour humans, so he doused me with a special perfume to mask my human scent,"
He looked around as everyone stared at him, "But after finding and adopting Luna and Sol, Clara and I became closer to one another and this morning I asked her parents for their permission to marry their daughter, but her father said something about my scars…and how I got them wasn't a wild animal, it was Kirio Ami who is going back to basics," everyone went quiet as Iruma continued, "I'm not asking you to join in this fight…if you do decide to fight with us, I'm not asking you to do it to help me protect my family. I'm asking you to do it to protect all demons, high ranks, low ranks, for your families, for yourselves and for the future of the Netherworld," everyone watched as Iruma stepped away from the microphone and narrowed his eyes, "If anyone here wants to try and devour me…take the shot…go on,"
Clara slowly looked up and hers and Iruma's eyes widened when they saw Alice stand up and walk towards the stage, "No…not you, Azz-Azz," the four watched as Alice climbed onto the stage and Clara got ready to run towards Iruma when she was stopped by Sullivan. Clara looked up and frowned, "Principal?"
"Let's see what he does, dear," Clara inhaled slowly and nodded before they looked back at the two.
Alice glared down at Iruma before he turned and faced everyone, "I will gladly travel to the darkest depths of hell and back to fight alongside Master Iruma, and he's willing to tells us something as sensitive as this, he's willing to put his life on the line to defend Valac and those children they have found months ago, and the future of the Netherworld to bring down these terrorists and see to it that demons of all kind can live safely. I believe all of us should rise up and put a stop to these terrorists that threaten our way of life no matter who they are!"
The auditorium roared with excitement as Iruma looked at his pink-haired friend, "Azz…are you saying you're not angry that you lost a fight to a human?"
"Human or demon, Iruma sir, you've beaten me fair and square and carried me to the infirmary after our first fight and thus I swore loyalty to you, Master Iruma," Alice turned and gave a kind smile, "And I respect all forms of etiquette,"
Iruma sighed and nodded, "So my hearty rival is a human and he still holds the position of being my rival," everyone looked back to see Sabro standing up and began walking towards the stage. Climbing up onto the stage, the musclebound demon crossed his arms and arched a brow, "So…what's the plan, Iruma? What do you propose we do to this organization?"
All eyes focused on the human as Iruma sighed and shook his head, "To be perfectly honest, I haven't a clue. I sort of thought that everyone will tune me out after telling them I'm human, but demons are far kinder than any human I've ever met," Clara sightly frowned before moving away from Sullivan and over to Iruma.
Standing next to him, Clara held his hand and Iruma looked at her as she softly smiled, "You'll think of something, Iruma-kins. You always do,"
"Daddy," Luna babbled before Iruma smiled, turned and walked towards Opera before taking Sol from him.
Turning back, he walked over to the podium and spoke into the microphone again, "We have one possible suspected member of the Six Fingers and that's Kirio Ami. I could be wrong, he could just be going back to basics, but he still threatens to upset the balance of the Netherworld that may high ranking demons have worked so hard to preserve. I want Luna and Sol to grow up without the fear of other demons wanting to harm them just because they're going back to basics. I want all demons to be able to walk around without having to look over their shoulder, wondering if the demon behind them might harm them."
Sol babbled as he slapped Iruma's chest, "So today…we will send a message to all demons going back to basics, to the Six Fingers and any other terrorists out there. Today we will let them know that a Declaration of War has been signed! If they want to destroy the Netherworld, to break down the power gap between high ranking and low rank demons and rebuild it to their liken then they're going to have a hell of a trip to see that their dream becomes a reality because I for one will not let that happen!" everyone cheered as Iruma turned and walked back to Clara, Alice and Sabro as Sullivan and Opera walked over to them.
Alice hummed as he crossed his arms and arched a brow, "Iruma sir," Iruma looked at him in confusion, "Not to be rude to you, sir, but I had the sneaking suspicion Kirio was going back to basics. I saw it in his eyes the last time I saw him,"
"And when was this?"
"Shortly after the Music Festival of our first year," Iruma groaned and shook his head, "What's wrong, Master?"
"You know…I'm retracting my previous statement…I believe Kirio is working with the Six Fingers…but that doesn't tell us who else is working with this organization," Iruma narrowed his eyes as Clara looked at him with a frown before holding Luna close to her again, "We got to be careful on who we trust from this point on. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer,"
"Then, my rival, we should get the Thirteen Crowns involved. They will help take down this organization and we can-"
"No," everyone looked at him in disbelief, "Sobnock, I know the Thirteen Crowns are like the heroes of the Netherworld, but think about it for a second, if the Six Fingers have been causing trouble and slipping through the fingers of the Thirteen Crowns, what does that tell you? Even if they are hard to catch, even if they are well-known…they still should be on the most wanted list, and yet they're still running around, causing terror everywhere they go, and the only way they can slip past the Thirteen Crowns is if one of them isn't who they claim to be,"
"Grandson…are you suggesting that there is a spy amongst the Thirteen Crowns," Sullivan shook his head, "That's a serious accusation and a serious offense. Maybe we should aim a little lower an-"
"I'm sorry, grandpa, but until someone proves to me otherwise, the only members I trust are you, Lady Levi, Lord Belli, Ameri's father to an extent and Azz's mother…other than that…sorry, but-"
"Iruma!" the six looked back to see Kerori approaching them, her eyes narrowed and Iruma's eyes widened. Climbing onto the stage, the ice demoness pulled Iruma away from the others.
Stepping behind the curtain, Kerori sighed as she released Iruma and shook her head, "I…I can't…all this time I thought a demon was outshining me and it turns out you're human!" she looked back at him as Iruma looked away and tried to comfort the now screaming Sol, "What the hell? Why? Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"I'm sorry, Kerori, I really am," Iruma looked at her and frowned, "I didn't mean to outshine you or anyone. I wanted to try and blend in, but the more I did that, the more I stuck out and…like I said, I didn't tell anyone because grandpa said that demons devour humans and I was scared," Kerori pouted as Iruma continued, "But after rising through the ranks in our first year…I thought the best thing to do was to just go with the flow…but now not only is my family in danger because of this terrorist organization, but the whole entire Netherworld as well, and I became close friends with many demons here and…this became my home after my worthless parents had sold me to grandpa and I'm not giving it up without a fight,"
Kerori's pout turned into a small frown as she looked away, "If you're still mad at me and want to devour me for outshining you, you're more than welcome to, but at least wait until we take down these terrorists and I know my family is protected so-"
"I'm not going to eat you," Kerori shook her head and crossed her arms, "Demons haven't practiced that in centuries. Yes…I was jealous whenever you outshone me…you always helped everyone around you and never once expected anything in return. You helped us achieve Royal One in our first year…wait…how the hell are you human? You went through a Wicked Phase an-"
"And I'm sure everyone out there will be asking the same question soon enough and it's a story for another day…I am human…that's all I can say right now," Kerori glared at him, "You can ask Clara, her family, grandpa, Opera, my Master, Professor Balam and even Ameri if you don't believe me," Kerori stared at him for a moment before inhaling slowly and nodded, "Anyway, if you want to help in this fight then fine, if not…I'll understand an-"
"After that talk you gave everyone out there…they'll have to be heartless or plain hate everything if they don't want to help," Iruma nodded and Kerori took a deep breath, "So…now what?"
"Now I talk to him," the two looked back to see Naberius stepping towards them. Standing in front of them, he gave Kerori a cold glare, "Crocell, do you mind giving us a moment?" Kerori slowly nodded before she walked past Iruma.
Student and teacher stared at one another before Iruma took a deep breath, "I guess…you're pissed that a human summoned you, Professor,"
"For the longest time, I couldn't figure out how the hell a demon summoned another demon as their familiar, but now it makes sense to me," Naberius crossed his arms and Iruma swallowed hard, "You, Iruma Suzuki, are a human, but…you have the heart and the passion of a demon. You rise through the ranks, aim for unimaginable goals and see them through, regardless of what many others might think. You're the one who showed the entire Misfit Class that they shouldn't let life kicked them when they're down. You've done something I was supposed to oversee,"
Iruma's eyes widened, "Professor Kalego?"
"And now you're out doing it again. You're going out to protect everyone in your life and show these troublesome demons that they need to think twice before coming and harming families, destroying an institute of education, and destroying the Ranking System that's brought order to the Netherworld," Naberius turned his back towards Iruma and began walking away, "There may not be any blood between you, but you are the Chair-Demon's grandson. Take that as you will,"
Iruma looked up to see Momonoki standing by the curtains before he spoke, "Professor, since you're willing to look past the hatred you have for me and grandpa, maybe you can talk to one of your colleagues," he pointed towards Momonoki and Naberius looked up before the Transfiguration teacher ducked behind the curtain and he sighed before walking towards her.
Clara stepped behind the curtain and walked over to Iruma, "Iruma-kins," Iruma hummed and arched a brow, "Is everything okay? Kerori wanted to talk to you and then we saw Eggie-Teach come back here…is everything okay?"
"Everything is fine, Clara," Iruma looked down at Sol and shook his head, "Kerori just wanted to talk to me about something and Professor Kalego wanted to tell me that I have the heart and passion of a demon," Clara hummed and nodded before Iruma's phone went off and he dug it out of his pocket before looking down, "And now Ameri wants to talk to us," Clara moaned and pouted, "It's just Ameri, Clara…we can trust her,"
"Okay, let's go, Iruma-kins," the two turned and came face-to-face with a blonde demoness around their age, "Uh…hi?"
"Iruma," she spoke and looked at him, "I wanted to thank you for saving me," Clara and Iruma looked at each other in confusion, "You saved me when you and Asmodeus were fighting during the entrance ceremony. I never got a chance to properly thank you, though…my name is Eiko Oni and…thank you for saving me, Iruma,"
"Oh…well…it's not a problem, Eiko," Iruma slightly smiled as Eiko stepped towards him, "Eiko?"
"I now know you're human, and you still saved a demon, and…I know I'm too late, but I want to give you this for saving me," in one swift movement, she lightly kissed his cheek and Clara's eyes widened before the blonde demoness turned and ran from the two.
Clara glared at the direction Eiko had ran off in before she felt Iruma pat the top of her head. She looked back with wide eyes, "Iruma-kins?"
"There's no reason to be jealous, Clara. She was just grateful I saved her life is all and besides, you know I love you…you even heard me ask for your parents' permission to marry you this morning," Clara sighed before she smiled and slightly nodded, "Now…we better go see what Ameri wanted. It sounded urgent," Clara hummed before the two of them continued to walk away.
Entering the Student Council common room, the two saw Ameri standing in the middle of the room, her eyes narrowed, and her arms crossed, "Get in here, you two, and close the door behind you," looking at each other, they did as they were told and Iruma closed the door behind them before they walked over to Ameri, "First off…Iruma, what you did was extremely reckless. What if the whole student body turned on you and wanted to kill you?"
"That's why grandpa was there. He was going to make sure nothing like that happened and if someone was going to try and devour me, grandpa would've stopped them and erased their memories of today's events,"
"Very well…and what was that about?" Clara and Iruma looked at each other in confusion, "Don't play dumb!" Luna and Sol began screaming as Clara and Iruma began comforting the two while Clara glared at Ameri, "That talk about marrying…what's going on here? Explain yourself, Iruma,"
"What Iruma-kins does is Iruma-kins business an-" taking Clara by the hand, she turned and looked at Iruma before taking a deep breath and shook her head, "Why do you want to know what he meant by that, Lady Redhair? It doesn't involve you so it shouldn't matter,"
"Why you…I would like to know what's going on and what he meant by-"
"Ameri," the tall, redhaired demoness stopped and looked at Iruma as Iruma inhaled slowly, "Clara is right. It doesn't involve anyone but me and Clara…but…if it'll make you feel better…I asked her parents for their permission to marry Clara, I said I know that we're young, but her father said that we're almost of age, but then he reminded us about my scars, about Kirio and about the Six Fingers, and as much as I love Clara, I don't want to put her in anymore danger than I already have and us getting married would put a target on her, her family, Luna and Sol and I'm not doing that,"
Ameri frowned as Iruma sighed and frowned as well as his gaze fell, "I can probably guess why you're upset over this, and there's not much I can do other than to say I'm sorry…you're a good friend, Ameri, and I enjoy our reading sessions, I really do, and I want to continue to read First Love Memories to you, but…Clara and I have been through so much these past few months, and even before Luna and Sol came into our lives. She's one of my first friends since coming to the Netherworld, and after hearing why she didn't have any friends…really broke my heart and I told her that she doesn't have to bribe me just to hang out."
"I see…and…Iruma, may I ask you a question," Iruma hummed and nodded, "I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but say these two didn't come into your lives and you and I found an abandoned child, would something happen between us?"
Clara narrowed her eyes slightly as Iruma sighed and shook his head, "I wouldn't be able to answer that honestly. It'll depend on the events that followed," Ameri moaned and pouted, "Like I said, Clara and I have been through hell, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, raising Luna and Sol. Long nights, dirty diapers…that time they got sick…I wouldn't think about trading it for anything because besides grandpa and Opera, I know Clara well and outside of her family, Clara knows me," Ameri slowly nodded, "If you want, I will gladly continue to read to you, and I'd like my family to be there, but right now we should focus on restoring the peace in the Netherworld, take down this organization and see to it that demons of future generations wouldn't have to live in fear,"
"I believe you're right, Iruma," Ameri sighed as she straightened herself up and narrowed her eyes, "A demon always protects those precious to them, and as much as it pains me…you will sooner die than allow anything to happen to your friend and those little ones with you,"
"I will," Clara's eyes widened before she frowned and leaned against Iruma, Luna and Sol staring up at them with wide eyes, "My main job is to protect my family at all cost…I don't want to die…I want to wake up with Clara by my side every morning, want to see Luna and Sol grow up, make friends and whatever else…I want to see the Netherworld live in peace without the threat of terrorists looming over them. So…like I said, a Declaration of War has been signed and I need to know if we can count on your help, Ameri."
"Of course I will help in your fight against these terrorists," Ameri looked at Clara and narrowed her eyes slightly, "But I'd like to have a word with your friend in private, Iruma. You can take the children and wait out in the hall," confused, Iruma took Luna from Clara and walked out of the room before setting Luna down and closed the door behind him.
Clara looked at Ameri and crossed her arms, "What do you want, Lady Redhair? I want to spend time with Iruma-kins and our babies and-"
"Understand, Valac," Ameri stepped towards Clara, a hardened expression crossing her face, "Iruma might have chosen you to spend the rest of his life with, and he might have been honest when I asked him that question but let me tell you something. If you do anything that will hurt Iruma, I promise I'm going to be there to comfort him and then I'll come looking for you for hurting Iruma an-"
"I'm not going to hurt Iruma-kins," Clara shook her head, "I love him, and he loves me…we're going to get married and raise Luna and Sol as a family and have more babies together after we take care of Kirio and the other demons like him, Lady Redhair," Ameri slightly frowned as Clara turned and began walking towards the door, "I'm not going to hurt him, and I know he's not going to hurt me. Iruma-kins loves me," opening the door, she saw Luna and Sol trying to run away from Iruma and she slightly smiled as she closed the door behind her.
Ameri sighed before she turned and walked towards the desk where she sat down and leaned back, "I guess I really am too late. I know Iruma well enough that he won't give up on his dreams just like that and if he wants to marry someone after we deal with these terrorists then who am I to complain? I wasn't kidding with her, however. Let Iruma come to me one time because she did something to him…I'll comfort him before coming to her," sighing, Ameri crossed her arms and frowned as she shook her head.
The small family walked down the hall with Luna and Sol trying to escape from Clara's and Iruma's grasps, "So…what did Ameri want?" Iruma looked up and Clara frowned as she shook her head, "Clara? Is everything okay? What did Ameri want?"
"She said if I ever hurt you, she's going to talk to me after helping you, Iruma-kins," Clara looked up with a faint smile and shook her head, "But I'm not going to hurt you, Iruma-kins. I love you,"
"And I love you too, Clara, and I'll never hurt you,"
Clara continued to smile as she leaned up against him, resting her head on his shoulder as Luna and Sol screamed, "Mommy! Daddy!" Clara and Iruma smiled before picking them up and continued to walk down the hall in silence.
Well…I may have spoiled a chapter or two from the manga and I'm sorry for that. Anyway, enjoy everyone.
