Hello, everyone.
Had a couple of people asking why I don't like Prequels in the reviews.
Well, I feel writing prequels are things that were forgotten in the original story.
They explain a lead up to the original which is not really needed. Origins stories should be explained in the first story.
I don't like writing stuff that leads to the original, it's pointless and foremost boring... as you know what will happen later.
Star Bores confirmed my hatered.
The Thing Prequel... ugh...
If you want to do perfect flashbacks, then watch the Saw franchise.
So, if I do a chapter about a character in the past, it's more of a short flashback.
That's not to say, I dispise people writing prequels. I've read some... I've done one (Hated it) I'm just telling you why I won't write one anymore. Sometimes gaps don't need to be filled.
I'm all for people writing prequels/spin-offs/sequels to my stories.
For me writing, it's lazy... its easy writing, its not a challenge because the prequel leads up to something we already know exists. Now I know I'm not a great writer, I make spelling mistakes, grammar is shit... but prequels is not my thing nor will improve a story/series I have already created.
I think it's great that people want to know what happened to Fink in those 11 years but if I felt it was important, I'd have written that in.
That's just me. That's just my opinion. And quite frankly, my problem for hating prequels.
Another question I got asked, will I do another sequel? No. Spin-off perhaps... but not for a long time.
I hope that clarifies a few things.
Thank you.
PizzaCatDavid.
