Simon P.O.V.
sigh* The Captain wasn't even going to pretend to give me a choice this time
Finally pulling his shirt back on Simon thought about what he wanted to say. How was he going to approach this with them.
"Getting River out of the Academy took a little more than money and luck. It took time..." was all Simon managed to say before Mal was already cutting in
"Now what do you mean by that Doc?"
"I had to make some friends and a few enemies while I was at it. The Blackout Zone was my best chance to find a way to River. Eventually that's where the people who helped me get River out found me."
"Blackout Zone?" Zoe asked, she and some of the others looked genuinely confused.
"The areas on Osiris that were not monitored, and because they were not monitored it is where all of the under the table, not excepted by society things happen." Simon shrugged
"You're telling me the whole ruttin' planet is bugged!" was Jayne's eloquent response, unknowingly voicing the thoughts of a few others in the room.
"You did not really pay attention to the security when we were on Ariel did you? The security on Osiris is about the same as on Ariel." Simon rolled his eyes at the crew infront of him, "Really, you think the government wouldn't monitor The Core intensely? They have the older generations keep the younger on a tight leash." He made a vague gesture to his chest.
Rubbing his hand over his face Simon looked at Mal, " Can we finish this conversation when I am not in the infirmary? I have more sedative in my system than I would like, and this conversation is going to be a long one."
Wash looked slightly guilty about the sedative, he may have accidentally over filled the syringe that he gave Zoe.
Mal sighed and nodded his head at the boy, after all he has some thinking of his own to do
Simon's eyes slid closed as a combination of exhaustion and the sedative took hold of his body. Thinking Maybe I'll get some decent sleep tonight
River P.O.V.
The crew slowly exited the infirmary, each glancing at Simon's prone form before they walk away. As they walk into the lounge they see River standing in the middle of the room staring at the infirmary, shaking her head.
"Father wanted the perfect offspring, governesses and nannies, teachers and maids. The Boy was pushed to swordsmanship as men on the Core must know how to wield a sword, but knowing is not good enough for father The Boy was forced to learn and excel if he had a bad report father punished him mercilessly." Rivers detached voice resonated through the room, "The Girl was told to dance, and oh how she flew." The barest smile graced her face
The Crew stood shocked, River actually looked like the young girl she really was
A serious look settled on her face as she turned to face everyone, "Simon abhorrs violence, that is one of the reasons he became a doctor. He got lots of practice growing up, that's why he specialized in Trama."
Scoffing* River spat at them " You all should know better than to judge someone on how they appear." At that she left the crew to their thoughts.
