Ash and his friends arrive at blackthorn city and meet up with clair,the blackthorn gym leader but she tells them that they cannot have the gym battle since there is a festival in the city so our heroes also partake in it.

They find out that once an unidentified dragon pokemon had terrorized blackthorn city but the first blackthorn gym leader defeated it and take one of its fang and called it the dragon fang.Since then every year on this specific day the blackthorn gym leader will have to perform a ritual with the dragon fang.And liza also arrives with charla and leaf's charizard.They are shocked to know that she is also from blackthorn city.Then team rocket appears and tries to steal the dragon fang but both leaf's charizard and charla send them flying.Then they celebrate the festival.

Next day,our heroes arrive on the blackthorn gym,liza also stays to see ash and clair's battle.

"this will be a 3 on 3 gym battle"an old man yells as he takes his place as referee.

"Ash ketchum this gym also has the best o2 out of 3 rule,and I will say only once I want to battle your mega charizard z with my gyarados and no holding back"clair said.The group is shocked at this while Liza smile at her best friend's confidence.

"Are you sure you want to battle my charizard?"asked ash still unsure.

"Off course"she says and ash nods and smiles inwardly at the gym leader's confidence.

'Jas was right she is a confident one'ash thought.

Clair sends out kingdra and ash sent his blastoise.

Kingdra starts with hydro cannon while blastoise does the same then blastoise uses brick break while kingdra uses whirlpool.Then it hits blastoise with dragon rage but blastoise manages to win with rapid spin and hydro pump combo.

Then clair sends out dragonair while ash sends out his shiny gyarados.Gyarados starts with dragon tail while dragonair counters with iron tail.Then dragonair traps gyarados in a twister and finishes with thunder bolt.

"So it came to the final round,gyarados"clair says sending out gyarados which also had a mega stone on its horn.

"Now here is my strongest,Charizard I choose you"ash yells sending out charizard.

Charizard appears with a roar which shook the ground.

'just how hard he trains his charizard'Liza thought shocked that a charizard is this strong without training in the charisific valley.

"Thank you for respecting my wish"clair said and ash nodded.

Then she mega evolved gyarados.

"Hmm,so this is time to show mine ,charizard let our hearts become one with the mega evolution"ash yells and presses his keystone and mega evolves charizard.Liza is excited on seeing mega charizard z in person.

The battles begins with gyarados continously attacking while charizard only dodges then gyarados is worn out and charizard finishes with dragon pulse.

"an one hit K.O.?"yells clair in disbelief.

"since the challenger leads by 2 for 1 one,so he wins the match"the referee announced.

'man now I am more excited to battle his charizard'Liza thought shocked at the power at the power of mega charizard z.

"Well ash,now I know how you defeated Blue Oak.you are really the son of first pokemon master"said clair handing him the rising badge.ash nodded and took it.

Liza decided to stay with clair for some time while ash and his friends stay at the gym for the day.

Next morning the group is enjoying the breakfast while sitting in the blackthorn gym balcony.

"I heard that the silver conference will take place in three months in silver town,so I suggest you to go and register for the league at new bark town"clair said.

"Then we shall go to new bark town"ash said while others nodded.Then liza gets a call from a trainer to send his charizard to him so she leaves for charisific valley with her and leaf's charizards.

While they are getting ready to leave team rocket comes and steals ash's badges and switches them with bottle caps,unleashing ash's fury.Ash sends out mewtwo and makes them suffer but then they see that team rocket was stealing the badges to sell them in order to get some medicines for the injured pokemon they found.

"You could have asked for money"ash said.

"but we are thieves we can only steal"meowth says.

"but you are of good heart."said leaf.

"you helped us save the world twice"leaf said and they nodded but when they realised what she had said they were shocked as they understood that they had done more good work than bad.

"we will forgive you but you have to leave this stealing business"said ash.

"it is our only source of income"said james and other two nodded.

"you can join the g men"said ash and they were shocked.

"meowth you are smart you can help planning the missions,james you are cunning man you can be the secret spy of g men and as for jessie she is good in hand to hand combat she can be a soldier"said ash as they nodded.

"you are right,but who will recruit us"asked jessie.

"I will talk to lance not only ash,gary and leaf but I am also a top secret member of lance's team"said clair and the trio nodded.

Then lance arrived and ash explained to him everything he accepted to recruit them and took them with him.

Then clair told ash to go through the sea to reach new bark town as soon as possible to which ash nodded.

then they left in their journey.
